I just replacement my battery with a new one original from huawei. And i ran into some problems, when i turn my phone on it shows the boot screen and then shut off after a few seconds. When i put the charger in it keeps rebooting at the boot screen.
I replaced the battery with another new one original from huawei. Same issues, but it boots fine into bootloader. But it wont boot into safe mode, when i put back the old battery, then everything works fine. Can someone help me with this new battery issue?
Unless the new batteries are so low it can't boot, it sounds like there's something different about the new batteries that the phone doesn't like.
Incompatability.

I had a bad day on 5th Sept, 2020 @ HUAWEI Customer Service Centre - [email protected], Singapore
I was a proud owner of Mate 20 Pro from the day one Huawei launched their Mate 20 pro in Singapore.
I had a serious Battery backup issue and I had been ask to visit Huawei Customer Service Centre to check the same, I took a appointment for 5th Sept at 12 PM (HUAWEI Customer Service Centre - [email protected])
I reached there at 11:30 PM, they accepted my phone for repair @ 11:36 AM and I had been told it will take 3 hours and I will be receiving an SMS when it's ready for collection. I checked with the service person will they remove the Tempered Glass, He told me to check the battery they don't need to remove the Tempered glass and it will be intact. (as the Tempered Glass itself cost SGD 45-50)
I didn't receive any SMS till 3PM, So I decided to check with them, they told me it's not ready and I will receive an SMS in next 30 mins, when it's ready for collection. I agreed.
I waited for another hour and went there and told them I had not received any SMS, the service person told me to wait, then he came back with my phone and informed me they have changed the battery. When I checked the phone I found my tempered glass had been removed, I asked him about the same, He told me it got removed by itself. (it was a loca uv glue one), can't help it.
When I checked I found another serious issue, they forgot to close the Back part of the phone property, the bottom part was half out and I can see a decent enough gap. When I asked him about the same, he told me they will do it again for me and it was a mistake. I asked How come this can happen, dont do you guys do some basic checks before handing over to customer after service. He just smiled and told, it sometimes happens.
Then took back my phone and I waited another hour to get the gap fixed. After that I have to visit Case Factory to get a new Tempered glass which cost me SGD $39. Thanks to Huawei for clearing my confusion on Which Phone to buy, I have my answer now, it will never be the Mate 40 Pro or any other Huawei Device.
The story does not end there. I received an SMS at 10:30 PM and asked me to collect my phone. The phone was already collected at 6PM hours before I received the SMS to collect the phone.
When checked the Repair Progress on their Support App, I found my phone was ready for collection at around 12:26PM and they made me to wait the whole day there and I have finally collected the phone at 6PM
What a Wonderful Service by Huawei.

Yeah, and the thing is this is second one that behaves like this. Only the battery that came with it works fine.
Same problem here with Mate 20 Pro. This was my last huawei phone. Installed replacement battery and also have this bootloop till old battery is installed.
I think they have a tool to pair the batterys with the mainboards. without pairment it is useless but it is not possible to find any program or howto manual on the net. But it cant be that only 3 people changed battery and ran into this issue. maybe it can also be a faulty fake battery which is blocked by huawei. I send battery back to seller and will get a Samsung S21 Ultra on release and dump this huawei crap.
Has anyone ever gotten this resolved?? Any software or hack to get pass this annoying bootloop after battery changed?? Never buying a huawei again
I had LYA-L29 from the USA now in India after 1-year suddenly battery-draining starts from one day so I send the phone to customer care centre first they tell me to replace battery now they tell me to replace motherboard also as a problem from motherboard level. all the other function are perfectly ok so how it could be the problem with mainboard? how to check whether they have change motherboard or not? I have dought they just want money for false repairing plz help me
I replaced 2x the screen assy on my wife's mate 20, the 1st time a year ago and the 2nd time a couple of days ago. The new screen(s) came with the frame and new battery installed, swapped the mainboard and all the other bits and pieces over and I have had zero issues with the phone not "accepting" the battery, making me believe the battery is not paired with the mainboard...I think its more a fake battery issue.

I tried this procedure and it worked perfectly:
1. Place new battery into phone but do not connect it.
2. Connect original battery and turn on the phone.
3. Connect charger.
4. Turn off phone, wait for the charging screen (battery % showing).
5. With charger connected disconnect original battery and quickly connect new battery
6. Let it charge few minutes. If % are rising you made it.
7. If you disconnect new battery you will have to repeat this procedure again.
I hope this will help someone.

No, you would have to repeat it if you overdrain the battery so it goes dead completely. This happens only if you leave the phone discharged for a few months.

Yes, I know you've seen questions like these before but hear me out; I've tried practically everything I could and wanted to know if there was anything else before I go to a service centre.
Situation: One day, randomly, my phone decides to start discharging its battery as fast as it can. That night I turned off my phone at ~30% and the next morning it didn't turn on at all. i.e. battery was draining while the phone was off. The next night I tried removing the battery while sleeping. It was about ~40% when I turned it off. Next morning I turn on the phone and whoa the battery is 50%.
This happens even when my GPRS/EDGE is turned off, the sync is turned off and no apps have been installed.
What I did: (Apart from going to the SE service centre, of course). I tried doing a battery recalibration.
1. Drained it fully. Charged it. Turned off and charged it to full 100%. Removed batterystats.bin. Nothing happened.
2. Drained it fully. Charged it. Drained again. Charged it for 8+ hours while turned off. I still don't know if this has had any effect.
3. Did a complete factory reset. No effect.
4. Repaired the phone using SE repair. No effect.
Does anybody have any other idea?
Oh I don't have any idea but to say good luck and sorry for your trouble and I hope that doesn't happen to my xperia.
if you've exhausted all possible troubleshooting, then, bring it to an SE service center .. you might also want to buy an extra battery along the way ..
download Android System Info from the market and check your running apps/tasks...
should give you insight to which app/s might be gobbling up resources...
that is, if you haven't tried doing that yet...
I have the same problem a months back. Do you by any chance use a portable charger? Portable charger can screw up phones like that. If not, then it must be faulty charger. But the bad news is that it probably hardware. If you are lucky, it's the battery, you can get a replacement for a week from SE or you can just buy a new one ( I recomend the the original SE branded). Or if you are unlucky, it's the whole hardware, which mean you have to turn it in to SE, wait 3 days only to be told that it will took them a month to repair it. Either way, you should get your phone to the service center ASAP.

It's usually an app, that dosn't terminate properly. You can see it in Battery history, when the phone does not seem to go back to sleep mode. The app is usually the one on top in 'partial awaikening mode' (translation from german) and keeps the phone in this mode, what drains the battery.
Happens here from time to time. The default music player from SE does it almost everytime. Last time for me it was netcounter.
Either killing this app or reboot fixes the problem.

Hello forum! Recently my phone died due to unknown circumstances. I thought it might have been water damage so I disassembled the phone and swabbed the PCB with isopropol alcohol and left the phone in dry rice next to a heater for 24 hours. This didn't fix anything so I took it back to the store of purchase and asked to test a new battery. Success, the phone turned on with a new battery in, however, when it was put on charge, the phone became abnormally hot. I thought this may be due the new battery, but it wasn't. After a small period on charge the phone paused charging because the battery temperature was to hot, I removed it from the charger it had only accumulated 30% charge and 20 minutes later the battery level had dropped to 2%.
Someone has suggested I was sold an aftermarket battery, however at the time the person from the store claimed they had to get a battery from a new S2 box.
So, I'm a bit lost as what to do next, could flash stock firmware and take it to a samsung service center, but I'm more interested in a possible DIY fix and the knowledge that comes with it.

Okay, yeah a return would probably be the best way to go about it. When I opened up the phone and had a look inside, the moisture indicators looked like a small white square with purple crosses on it. I would post a link, but new users with less than 10 posts cant post links.
But otherwise I think I'll follow your advice, and return to stock/un-root, I don't want to risk toasting the phone even further.

Have encountered more issues. Was in the process backing up phone. Turned off phone so I could reboot it into recovery and do a full wipe. But it refused to turn on, and doesn't show any signs of charging again.
So can't really return it to samsung or its place of purchase because it's still rooted.
What are the chances it the power IC that is malfunctioning?
I'm considering buying a charging/usb port from parts4repair, I've heard that the xda community has had good experiences with that website.
Any advice for a person in my situation? Bite the bullet and buy a second hand SII?
Following on from a Previous Problem which fixed yet created a newer problem I have:
Redmi Note 4 64gb running on Global Rom with a Battery showing Zero Volts on USB or AC Power. Plugging out instantly powers off.

I have no active warranty as an Aliexpress seller(3+ years a seller) vanished at Christmas. I've no issue taking it apart if I need to replace the battery. Watching a Youtube first dismantle video it appears I need a BN41. I'm going to go presume that my local multitude of phone shops won't stock that battery as I tried two and one asked "How do you spell that?" and another "a what phone?" so I won't be going down that route again.
Only reasonable price I could see online was some Eastern European country and using Google Translate I find these charge about €27 for the battery but it's not in stock anyway. Another is €48 in china. Seems a little expensive considering a Redmi 3 battery is about €7.
Anyway I'd prefer to see if it's software leading into a hardware problem as well before venturing down the route of battery replacement.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can see all the stripdown tutorials but alas none of them referred to the exact size of the screws so I ordered a Multi-tool. Hopefully it is just the battery otherwise it's the cost of the phone, battery, little multitool down the drain.
I did a very small driver to get one of the screws out(not exact fit) but the other wouldn't budge and I don't want to thread the head on the screw so backed off for now.

Hey BertieBaron, I'm having the same issue with my Redmi Note 4, I've bought a new battery from Iberaccess, opened the device and installed the new battery piece but it didn't solve the problem, still switching off as soon as I unplug it... it's driving me nuts!

Confirmed to be no Water Damage by somebody with more experience than I. Was it dropped? It was a teenager so anything is possible but there was no evidence of such.
Yes guys i had the same problem now, stuck at zero Percent there's a RED light indicatingit's charging but still ZERO won t go up ...and once i unplug the phone from charger it turns off Instantly ....I foudn the Solution for that it s quite easy as u think .. all you have to do is :
1-unscrew the 2 screws bottom
2-becareful while taking off the cover u need to take off the Sim tray
3-and slowly take off the over there s the finger print sensor cable unplug it
4-once the cover is off u see 2 cable next to each other one of them is for the battery ...Doesn t matter remove them both and hold power button for 20 seconds
5- make sure u do keep holding the power button for 20 seconds .....do that like3 or 4 times to make sure no power is left inside the phone ..
6-plug everything except the sensor and power on the phone and check this worked for me
Once u see it worked turn the phone off and put back the sensor and get everything back to together .....Don t plug the sensor while it s turned on i have no idea if this damages anything!!

I tried to turn it on again and it worked, then obviously the battery ran out. Tried to charge it, the screen turned on with the "mi" logo, red led at the top but it gave me completely empty battery with no percentage. I thought it was the dead battery. I changed it to a new one and put it in charge. Now I see Mi logo and 47%, it does not charge the battery unfortunately. Stopped at 47% for hours. The battery therefore does not charge. Even if I connect the phone to the PC, the charge does not start and the PC does not recognize it. What could be the problem?

The seller assured me that the circuit is good. In the reviews people didn't complain about the fast charging problem.
I am using the original charger and before changing the charging port, it charged normal and fast.
In what sense to change ROM?

I hope there is someone here, who can help me with my issue. I lost my hope after trying almost everything found in the internet.
So here is the problem: I was using my phone as a navigation in my car. The battery was low, so I used the car charger and kept it plugged, while driving. I observed, that even though I was charging my phone via car charger, the battery continued to get low and finally the phone turned off. After reaching home, I plugged my phone with an original quick charger from Xiaomi. Unfortunately I was not able to charge my phone and it got stuck in a bootloop, with a phone showing Mi Logo, vibrating and switching off repeatedly.
When I connect the phone with the laptop, it is shortly recognized (when it is booting) and then disconnected and again and again. I can go to fastboot mode but I cannot flash my phone using MiFlash, because I get an error: Failed. Low battery.
Does anyone know the solution? I would really appreciate any help.

Are you on miui or a custom rom?
I think I know what problem you are facing, your device's battery is actually drained of all the power, like it empty. So drained that it doesn't even have the energy to turn on the phone to get power. I had a lenovo a560 last year, and it had the same problem, so what i had to do was either leave it for charging and pray that it begins charging (and sometimes after 3 or 4 hours the battery started charging as normal when it got 1% battery), or the second method was that i took the removable battery out and charged it externally using wires. The second method worked since the battery got enough power, to keep the phone on during charging.
Now the problem is that redmi note 4 doesn't have a removable battery, so either you can leave the phone for charging, and actually forget about it for a day, or the only other thing is that you have to visit a service center.
Not joking about the charging process but that is the only thing you can do.

But wait, if the phone is able to stay in fastboot mode, why not charge it there? Like just open fastboot mode, and connect the charger. It will atleast charge some percent.

Hi, i thought about it before, but the phone was staying in fastboot mode for a very short time, to short to charge any resonable amount of power, and kept rebooting quickly. I left the phone for two days without trying to fix it and I tried just now to go into fastboot and try to charge. It stays now for quite a time in fastboot so I will keep my fingers crossed that I will be able to charge. I will update here if it was a success or not. Meanwhile, thank you for all your ideas! Lets see what happens...

I also had an impression, that the phone was not warm at the back, where the battery is. Now I am starting to think that the battery is completely dead and I have to change it. But how is it even possible, that after 8 MONTHS the battery is completely f***ed up?
Can I somehow check the state of the battery? I would like to be sure, that there is no way to bring the battery back to life and I really have to go somewhere to change it. I am really reluctant to have a battery from some unknown company. :crying:

Can I somehow check the state of the battery? I would like to be sure, that there is no way to bring the battery back to life and I really have to go somewhere to change it. I am really reluctant to have a battery from some unknown company. :crying:

This is really a kernel fault man, I had the same issues with mediatek Chipsets before, but you are saying in "8 months", so that means you are well covered in warranty. You can send an e-mail to Xiaomi customer care or visit a service centre with the phone bill. I am pretty sure a faulty battery or such happening can be covered using warranty, plus I would suggest NOT to get the battery changed from a 3rd party store.

Sorry, I actually don't know much about the phones, so I don't know what 'rooted' means. I never did anything with my phone, software or whatever more than required.
With the warranty there is a different problem in my case: I bought my phone in China when I was there for my business trip and I live in Europe (yeah I know, my own fault, I should have bought it at home). I have bill and everything but I guess it will not help. Besides, Xiaomi gives 6 months warranty for battery (in case this is really the battery).

Knowing that you are not rooted is a positive thing when regarding the warranty, ok so here is the thing which you should do. But first of all please stop the battery charging process, since this can now be harmful and can damage the components. Ok so here's what you should do -

Send an email to that address regarding the battery problem. And provide the details including about the drainage of battery, and the methods which you tried. Plus attach the bill also. It doesn't really matter where you bought it, because the bill serves as to give them information that the device you own is actually bought by you, and it contains details about device like IMEI etc. If they respond and say that you can send your device to them, (in this case they will give you an address) you should do that. If they say they cannot help it, then consider getting a repair from a local shop.
I just checked my phone's inside and found out that you cannot externally charge the battery, so this means you need a repair, unfortunately.
Before ending this reply I just wanna clear the fact that,
The battery isn't damaged, it just isn't able to get power,(here it is because of the device) this means that if somehow some energy can be provided to the battery, the battery need not be replaced.

I am still waiting for the response from Global Service. If nothing happens, I will go to local 'mi center', where I know they can repair xiaomi phones, but not on warranty.
Apart from that, phone is still dead, but I have not tried yet anything else. I found this: https://xiaomifirmware.com/guides-and-tips/fix-bootloop-redmi-note-4-mtk/
But I am not sure, if this should work. Anyone have tried?

That post shows you how to enter deep flash mode. You can give it a try. If that works, Voila, If it does't better go the service center.
So I got the response from service (it took them ages). Maybe it will help someone:
With respect to your concern, I would request you to please follow some troubleshooting steps in order to resolve your issue:
Try to charge your device with another compatible charger for at least 30 minutes
Long press power button for 10-15 seconds and check whether the device is responding or not
If the issue persists please follow the below mentioned steps:
Note: The below mentioned procedure deletes the data you have on your phone.
Sign Out from your Mi Account :-
Go to the settings
Select Mi Account
Confirm to Sign out
Create a backup : -
Go to the settings
Go to the additional settings
Go to the backup and reset
Go to the local backup
Go to the backup
Select system and apps
Then, select backup so that a backup would be created
After creating the backup, you can find your backup file through the below mentioned steps:
Go to the "explorer"
Select "storage" option
Then, "MIUI"
You will get a "backup" option
Select "all backup"
In this folder, you will be able to see your "backup file"
(Note :- Please save the backup file on your PC/Laptop so that your important data would be prevented)
Factory data reset :-
Go to the settings
Go to the additional settings
Go to the backup and reset
Tap on factory data reset
In order to restore your backup file, please follow the below mentioned steps:
Go to the settings
Go to the additional settings
Go to the backup and reset
Go to the local backup
After that, select your "backup file"
Then, "restore" it

I didn't work at the beginning, so I left my phone and actually wanted to wait till I go back home to my country for the weekend and visit Xiaomi service, but FINALLY IT WORKED!!! I cannot explained what was the reason that this time it clicked. My phone was completely drained, left for long time without touching. As a result I have a battery icon now and it is charging, no bootloop anymore. Hope this method would help someone. Be patient and try multiple times!
So it is not software problem causing the bootloop
So it is not a software, but only hardware - the battery - as the only problem in this case. I am facing a very similar case with my Redmi Note 4x Mediatek (4/64 Memory) just starting Friday morning (9Feb). I thought it was charging overnight, but in the morning found the power totally drained, and stucked not be able to recharge for hours. This phone is still under warranty (9month use) but ridiculously the Official Service Agent said they need up to 40days to fix this phone. This is worst experience comparing to other phones I ever had.

I have been using my poco f1 for 4 years now and it has stood by me strongly. I only replaced the battery once due to excessive usage from covid (hotspot on almost 12+ hrs of the day).
It had pixel plus 11 rom in it and I was very happy with it too. Over the past 1 week, i noticed it was behaving strangely.
1. The charge time took almost 3hrs even though it showed charing rapidly
2. When I switch off the phone and keep it for the charge, it charges comparatively faster.
3. At certain times, it would freeze and restart.
4. Would heat up during charging, so I would keep it near a window or anywhere there is a breeze so that it doesn't overheat.
As of yesterday, the phone went into a complete loop after charging (It was off while being charged, once it reached 95% I unplugged and switched it on) with poco symbol followed by the 'G' icon appearing.
I thought i'd wait it out, but no luck. The weirdest thing was, when i reconnected my charger (Charge ON), it would switch on. And when i'd unplug it, the phone would switch off and go back into the loop.
The phone was near full charged, but i figured this is probably a rom issue and needs a good flash. So, I plugged the phone in for charging again so that I could switch it on and then took the necessary backups.
In parallel, I downloaded the latest rom (Pixel 12 stable build) thinking that if i flashed it would solve everything.
I connected the phone via USB to the laptop to copy the rom file, but it didn't swith on. It would only do so by charger. (Weird!). I tried it a couple of times, and managed to switch the phone via USB cable connected from laptop. But it didnt last for long as the phone would switch off shortly. Fortunately, it was on for just enough time and i mean, a couple of times till I could copy the file into storage for flashing.
I reconnected it back to the wall charger, switched on and took backups. At this point the phone has reached 100% for about 2hrs or so, but there's nothing i can do in order to get it to be on.
I proceeded to flash pixel rom 12 via twrp after clearing the cache, davlik and all of that. It was successful (no error messages appeared) and when i rebooted it I could see that the rom went through fine as the charging '100%' icon has changed (Its more graphic) but the phone still wont switch on and continues to be on this loop.
Can anyone please advise me on how I can tackle this? I dont want to buy a new phone as I feel there is nothing out there that would match this phone for its value. (I can use pixel rom, good battery, durability)
Any help in this matter would be highly appreciated.
I'd be more than happy to make a contribution to anyone who can provide me with a solution that works. I'd rather be happy with my old phone and you can treat yourself to a nice meal rather than having to buy a brand new phone. (So far, im looking at mi 11x, s20 fe, mi 11 lite, oneplus 9R, but to be honest they just don't appeal to me. You know what they say, once you go poco, you go loco!!!!)

Firstly make sure you followed this installation guide.
Then if you are sure that flashing is correct, I think it's your battery issue. You should replace it.

I have given it to a mobile repair shop nearby (we have a separate market for mobiles here).
Hopefully they can sort it out or else I'll go for a used S20 FE 5G, saw a couple of them ranging from $300 - $400

You could just buy and replace the battery by urself with 5min YouTube video
In repair shop they may ask extra money or try to show u that needs more than battery.
I am sure it's battery tho.

Thanks for replying. So, my phone did get fixed, apparently, the issue was due to the charger port and battery connection. Somewhere there was a short circuit causing that issue.
They mentioned this happens due to overcharging or using the phone when on charge or running heavy applications.
Yes, a battery replacement would add a few more hours of battery life I'm sure as I currently average 6 hours on heavy usage.
I plan to use this phone till it no longer runs as the alternatives out there arent really all that great with respect to value for money and reliability. I hope to get my hands on the mi 12x, it looks really appealing!

For sure hardware of POCO F1 is still good and worth the money. Enjoy the paradise of custom ROMs
