Hey guys, I'm new to actually rooting, but have read through a lot of the help and information sections about it. My device is the Alcatel One Touch Pop Astro (TCL 5042D). I've used many one click root apps, including KingRoot, and they all have failed. Kingroot has worked for some people with the same phone as me, but it does not for me. I am wondering if its because I'm on android version 4.4.4.
How would I be able to root this phone? Do I have to downgrade and then try KingRoot.. if so how do I downgrade?
I don't want to brick my phone so if anyone can help me with this, I would greatly greatly appreciate it.
(FYI this has NOT worked
.http://www.skyneel.com/2015/05/how-to-root-alcatel-one-touch-pop-astro-without-pc.html)
I am very hesitant to try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/tutorial-root-alcatel-one-touch-pop-s3-t3060092
as it could brick my phone, it is not the same exact model as my phone.
Any help greatly appreciated and thanked
Bump
Any help appreciated
I am going to be getting this phone in the next few days. I do plan on rooting it through towelroot or kingroot, however Can someone please explain to me what would happen if I put a custom ROM on it? I read online that there are a few available for it and don't know what It does, Thanks !
I am having serious root withdrawals and they need to be stopped, I have an LG G5 on AT&T (H820). I am wondering if there is anything I can do to help without risking bricking my device.

I have tried every solution I could research.. Root Genius, Srs Root, King/Kingo Root, Framaroot, Sp Flash Tool, you name it. Okay XDA.. Is there a true solution?

what version do you have?

It just says Doogee X10 in the Model #. . Dual Sim Unlocked. Its a china phone so either MTK6795, OR MTK0633
Update Doogee X10 Chipset
I tried using several scatter files in sp flash tool, and the chipset is stated clearly as MT633
I think TWRP on this phone might be a lost cause, i have given up on the idea.
I am in the same situation, I stay here...
- Root for Unlocked Dual SIM
Wondershare for Android, Titanium Backup for Android, use OTG for this - tricky because everything in knowledge base for this stuff is usually just follow same as X5, but X10 has these details.
Unlocked + Dual SIM.
still searching for CyanogenMod
The 6.0 has default features though, Try contacting Doogee for a Factory Reset Instructions due to reading fixed corrupted pics. They might have a white paper dl that might include ROOT,
might need to translate into the territorial language but if you prove ownership you should be able to get that, maybe if you scathe a china web portal about doogee updates you migh find some useable links there
Magisk works. Make sure you:
Unlocked your bootloader
Know how to use fastboot
Have a recovery.img
Understand that if you choose to root, we are not responsible for loss.
There is no custom roms that I know of - however can build one, please do!

There is currently no way to do this for the Canadian H831.
