Hi everyone, today I've obtained XXBLFB by OTA on my samsung Galaxy s3 and before I was in lf2 with CF root (last version) .
Since I've updated I don't have superuser rights anymore on some applications, and finally I want to unroot my device, but SuperUser app is still on my phone, and the phone status is : Custom .
I was okay to flash stock kernel but I don't have it, there's only roms , if I re-flash the rom will the root delete himself ?
Because I just get the rom by ota and it's still here .
Please help

You have to root your phone again with the latest CF Root and install TrianleAway 1.51 and reset the flash counter and reset the status. After reboot go in the SU app and delete root and reboot.
Ok thanks i'll do that , but CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.zip is not downloadable right now ? chainfire website isn't working ,do you have this file please ?

if you are unrooting for waranty purpose, just unrooting and unistalling root apps are not enough, you have to flash the stock firmware through ODIN, after reseting counter with Triangle Away. Samsung service center can make out by simply booting your phone, since T-Away can not reset the status of your phone showing "modified" in the status of the phone in about phone menu,
so just follow the steps for these mentioned by Chainfire in his CF-root thread
ZACQ8 is right, just hope your up to flashing with Odin.
Here is a tutorial how i did it:
If you want to use Odin first download a stock firmware from www.sammobile/firmware, pick the rom of your country and download it.
Extract it once from .rar to md5 file.
Readup a bit, it isn`t hard but there are a few things you must know:
1. Enable usb debugging on your phone
2. Go into downloadmode (volume down + power + menu all at the same time)
3. See if IDCOM light up yellow and in the left bottom window it says added when you connect your phone to the pc.
4. Unzip the downloaded file ONCE into a .tar or md5 file if you haven`t
5. Place that file in the PDA section.
6. Do not tick anything, only f.reset.time and autoreboot should be ticked.
7. Start
8. Rebooting automaticly.
Close Kies, also everthing Kies related in task manager before flashing!

I don't really understand, (i'm french) will I be able to totally delete root on my s3 or not ?
Chainfire website won't work
Before with my galaxy s2, event it was root in every firmware, I've reflash a stock firmware and warranty worked, impossible for S3 ?
and, btw I don't have any triangle or other thing, I just have flash counter
edit : finally i'll do that :
"- Use Triangle Away to reset the flash counters, and pull the battery immediately after rebooting starts
- Boot into recovery and perform a wipe, and pull the battery immediately after rebooting starts
- Go to SamMobile and get the stock firmware for your region
- Flash that stock firmware on your device
- Let Android boot, go through device setup (without doing any logins) until Android is fully usable again
- Reboot
- Wait at least 10 minutes
- Check Settings->About device->Status and make sure Device status is not "Modified"
- Perform another factory reset
- Boot into download mode and make sure the flash counter and system status are all set to official"
Thanks

[Q] After reading a few guides, I'm still a little confused (CWM & rom related q's)
Guys I apologize for the long, and n00b post, I have no experience with this whatsoever, and this is an expensive device, i want to make the process as safe as possible, so I would really appreciate if you can help me clear my confusion.
I own S3 GT-I9300, which I want to change it's rom to one of the stock roms of my country, device purchased in Australia, and I'm having some issues.
Now, I understand I need CWM to be able to back up my phone, and Odin to install, but here is what I'm confused about:
1. There is a pack by ChainFire which installs CWM and roots your device, this is nice, however I now learned that the CF pack contains a relatively old version of CWM, and if I want to install the latest one 6.0.1 if I understand correctly, then I need to install it by myself.
- what's the difference between the new CWM version and the one in CF's pack?
- The CF pack installs root to your device, do I need to do this myself if I install only the CWM recovery?
- Can I install an 'official' (i.e. not a mod) rom without rooting my device?
- Is rooting reversible?
- Is the latest version of CWM the one which supports touch?
2. I found many links, but I'm not sure which one is considered a safe ones here so I would appreciate trusted links to:
- CWM 6.0.1 (or later?) which supports touch for GT-I9300
- Odin - the version I need
And finally, if I understood correctly the way to do the procedure itself is (roughly):
-get Odin, CWM, and rom
-put device in recovery mod, open Odin -> PDA, flash CWM, reboot
-Back up device with CWM
-put device in download mod, open Odin -> PDA, flash ROM, reboot
Is that right?

Thanks for your reply but I'm still a little confused.
You said not to use CWM because it doesn't work. Can you please elaborate and suggest some alternative?
Then you said to use CWM for backup... Am I missing something? you said not to use CWM... Are there different uses for CWM?
Also you said I don't need to root my device, but then in the procedure I described you said that I need to first root my device.
Like I said I might be missing something because to me it seems like things are contradicting. I would appreciate if you can clear that up.
Thanks again.

EDIT: Tutorial here!
How to root the new 5.0.2 roms with build date 11.09.2015 (DMY) +?
I've tried King Root, CF-Auto-Root, but no success!
I think I've read that the new Samsung roms have root protection built in the kernel, so it would be logical to first change or patch the kernel?

I also tried two ways this is not anything else you do not
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G850A using Tapatalk
As no one answered, here is my solution to this problem...
Before upgrading make sure you make a backup with Titanium Backup or you'll have to start from scratch.
1. Install 5.0.2 ROM using Odin.
2. Use an older lollipop kernel, I used the older XME region one as it was very stable for me... and converted the boot.img with this tool. Flash it with Odin after unzipping attached file!
3. Reboot, let the phone make it's thing...
4. Flash Supersu using TWRP. Install TWRP first then use TWRP to flash SuperSU.zip.
5. If you encounter any problems, reset the phone to factory settings (Make a backup of your SD card, just in case)
6. "SecurityLogAgent 3.7.5" service must be disabled so that the phone stops bugging me about unauthorized modifications!
P.S.: Added some screenshots!
P.S. 2: Standby time on these roms is ridiculous... 2-3 days
38 downloads and no feedback? At least the steps are correct?

Thank you for this guide. It helped me figure out what to do.
Have a question. Is the Micky387_kernel_511.zip only for android 5.11?
I currently have 5.01. If I want to upgrade my N915F to Stock 5.11 so I need to install this kernel before or after I install the OEM ROM?
Thank you.
Thats all basic:
Download Stock FW
Download latest ODIN 3.10.7
Download latest TWRP Recovery
Download Mickis 5.1.1 Kernel (if you need Root)
use ODIN to Install the Stock 5.1.1 FW
use Odin to instal TWRP
Flash Kernel with TWRP

Now you don't need to flash a 'permissive' firmware in step 6 (you can flash flash the zip of the new SuperSU 2.6x after reboot into TWRP/CWM recovery to get root).
You can also try to remove/de-active KNOX software flashing the file KNOX-FREE_TEKHD.zip By @TEKHD (at the same time than SuperSU 2.6x if you want) https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347792751
I hope this help you with this and other security warning messages
help me
It does not work on sm- n915fy with stock 5.1.1 . The flash recovery with odin is successful but when I turn on mode ' recovery comes out the message (in update system) and I still have the stock recovery
When using odin to flash recovery, untick the AUTOREBOOT option. When done, after pass appear, just remove the phone from cable and remove battery. Put it back to phone and reboot recovery. It worked for me...

Yes, when you flash a costum kernel you will lost Root. After flashing Micky's Kernel just flash the root again, and you have root again. It's not possible to reset ur Knox when you flash costum stuffs.. Simply just flash this attachment.

You don't need your phone the moment.
You can always flash it by flashing the required PIT file or by removing hidden.img from the firmware file, but you will get a lot of Vodafone-branded applications.
Just download the latest firmware (Binary Nature) though SamFirm. (SM-G925F // SEB)
Then, extract the PIT file from the CSC part and flash it via Odin with these options ticked :
• Auto Reboot
• Re-Partition
• F. Reset Time
• Nand Erase All
*if you want to reset all counters (like how much time you put earphones/charger in your phone)* • Phone EFS Clear

i just root my device.. is there any way to fix 0x1 knox? i mean when i flash a stock rom via odin or any program.. because when i flash the 7.0 i saw that the knox was 0x1 .. i was rooted thats why its 0x1.. but after flashing a stock firmware is there anyway to fix this? because maybe some time i am gonna sell this phone and dont want to saying knox 0x1.. i dont care then about the root but only the knox to will be as it was from the factory..
Once you've triggered the Knox counter there's no way to reset it sadly.
However, Knox is only useful for warranty purposes and if you're selling the phone then the warranty won't transfer over to the new owner anyway.
I have used "Triangle Away" by Chainfire to clear my Knox counters on every Sammy phone I ever had. Works like a charm.
