Why is samsung delaying the one ui 2.5 when the fold 2 has it?there's not much difference between the two devices and 2.5 brings some great features but instead the s10 range get it even though our handset cost nearly £2000 surely we deserve priority service,if samsung expect to sell more premium products they need to give premium service as well as that premium price tag....
I fully agree with you and was also still wondering, why all other series 10 handsets received it and there is no update available for the Fold. But I guess they have already pushed a lot UI 2.5 changes to the current Fold UI like live the Pro video mode.
I agree aswel I got the phone 5g version in uk in Feb wed get updates between 20 to last day if the month while fold 4g the the updated beginning of the months then last 4 months we got beginning of month then last update was 10th September for security patch downloaded about 5am no update since

Firmware of an S10-sevice, one screen, is much easier than of the Galaxy Fold!
AS always it's a "staged roll-out", and will arrive at your device soon too(or if you've a Multi-CSC OXM device, you could flash the firmware yourself with Odin)

The updates are already on the fold 2 so its already there, theres no pen like on the note 9 which is now been released....its all software related and that software is already on the near identical fold 2...its a joke no premium service but a premium price,I would normally flash it with odin but I'm not risking it this time ?

It'll come to your device soon too...
Do you know how firmware-updates work? With a major upgrade, it'll be first released to 1 (or a few) country. When there are no major bugs discovered, it'll be released to more countries!
As France (XEF) is the default CSC for Multi-CSC OXM, they're getting it first.
Flashing your Fold with Odin is as safe as flashing i.e. a Note20-device...
If you want OneUI 2.5 on your device right now: flash it; or wait till it's released in your country...

Of course i know how updates work, the work has been done already on the fold 2 so why the long wait for the fold 1?let's have the people who pay premium for their phones treated as premium customers, I expect to be served before someone whos paid half of what I have...so maybe samsung needs to get a move on and keep its premium customers happy...I shouldn't have to flash an update even if the phone wasn't nearly $2000...
This just come through today I did manually check for it
Oops would have helped if I included it lol
Just received the update

Havent seen this posted anywhere but for those still out there with interest here it goes. I have known for a month now but didnt want to say anything until it got closer. The VZW Z2 tablet was 1st and now the Z3v is up for OTA. I haven't gotten it yet on my own but been told to keep manually trying the pull. Pull will happen first.
I had a Z4v and curious to see how well the z3v performs in comparison with the last and final build for that hardware. Z4v only had 5.0.2 also.
Advanced calling is supposed to come with this OTA.
Lollipop 5.0.2
hVolte enabled
Band 4 and Band 13 enabled(Carrier Aggregation) + Band 2 support
Stagefright patch
OS fixes
Mad
Any news on the official roll out date? And about time Z3V owners get 5.0! Wooo!!!
There never was a Z4v. Verizon never released the phone.

First off, how did you get a z4v? Also, where did you hear the news about the update?
Yes there was a Z4v. It was retail ready and shipped but then recalled. Some resellers had the opportunity to not return all stock like this one http://m.ebay.com/itm/161860311364?_mwBanner=1
I had a pre-release z4v for testing with my company MDM. I work for a Verizon business customer who tests devices and software updates to make sure they work with our mobile device management. Z4v was weeks from releasing when the hold was placed. That's all I know before it was recalled and cancelled. It worked fine with a few bugs I reported. It was fully waterproof.
I got the word to keep an eye out for the z3v update coming so I can test and now I'm waiting. Since there is a lowe number in use at my company I didn't get early access to the software update like I did for the s6 5.1.1 and the S5 lollipop update.
I just like the Sony phones and can't wait to try the official update on a few phones I have here. I don't have any interest in the pre release leaked versions out now.
I still haven't gotten the update on my two phones yet but will keep trying the manual pull.
Hopefully vzw doesn't hold the update now that the v10 and turbo 2/maxx 2 is released same week.
Mad
Holy crap, that's amazing that the Z4v is actually on sale for once. But is the seller not worried about Verizon ensuing to get their phone back or something?
And geez... that's some 100% markup.
So a ftf ought to be on the Sony github, but there isn't one. So what is the build number?
Nothing new on Xperifirm
Perhaps just like the Xperia Z2 Tablet, the build number will end with 508 as the OTA.

I'm not rooted and was able to get this to work last night using the 9.18.6 flashtool version. It works and I did not lose any data or apps. The phone is running better than ever. Once installed the flashtool has a button to go to xperifirm to get the latest FTF if you haven't already downloaded it. Here is the link: https://userscloud.com/kb6tr3bcuecr
Can you confirm that that is the final build and not an RC?

I doubt this is the final build but was tired of waiting for Verizon. Now that this was successul for me I'll just pull any new release on Xperifirm via the flashtool and install it instead of waiting for an OTA. I'm not sure how Verizon even manages these since they are 1.5gb files.
i'm new to android etc. i don't want to get in too deep in regards to roms, unlocking the bootloader etc cause it's probably above my head. however, i have friends on lollipop and it looks a lot better. so if i were to use this flashtool for sony. basically i plug in my phone, download this xperifirm and then install? sounds like there was no need to root or anything? thanks for any tips.
Does this update allow you to use VoLTE? I upgraded to this phone from a Galaxy S4 and definitely like all of the features on the Z3V more except that I cannot talk and use data at the same time.

Most likely considering it would be the official update.
Great news.
Just chatted with Verizon: (abridged)
Thank you for contacting the Verizon Wireless Chat Team. One of our skilled Chat Representatives will be with you in a moment.
Your Chat Session ID is XXXXXXXXXX.
Hello, my name is XXXX. I’m happy to assist you with your question.
How can I help you today?
Visitor: Hello
Visitor: When is the Xperia Z3V receiving Lollipop?
XXXX: Good morning!
XXXX: We can definitely check and see when it may be getting that update.
XXXX: I am checking for you now if we have the information on when it will get the update.
XXXX: Thank you so much for your kind patience as I am researching this for you.
Visitor: Thank you.
XXXX: You are most welcome.
Visitor: I am reading insider reports that OTA 5.0.2 is on the way. Just wanting to confirm.
XXXX: Right now, we do have it confirmed that it will be coming to the devices, but we don't have a specific date to provide at the moment. Rolling out a new release takes a great deal of planning as it is important that Verizon Wireless deploy a fully tested release to avoid any customer impacting issues. Testing and approval requires input from many test organizations and stakeholders so we can ensure our reliability for our devices.

Your not telling the community anything new.
VZW petitioned the FCC for WI-fi calling because AT & T got granted it (Wi-fi calling), advanced calling 1.0 and lollipop not getting either yet is what has the community pissed at VZW.
Post about things coming with no concrete info just makes it worse.
Can someone post how to use xperifirm and flash tool with this phone

I wouldn't say stuck. Pretty much everyone is on that patch level AFAIK.
Samsung doesn't do monthly security patches. Last patch was sometimes in March with the Feb Update.
I forgot about that caveat when I gave my wife the P2XL and picked up a S9+
What the heck. Even my Wife's Note 8 is on the March patch!
I even have 2 Verizon S6's that were getting monthly security patches like clockwork. These are on April already. S6's are like 3 years old I think!
I'm still on the Feb patch.... I have the unlocked U1...
It's nuts!
Mine says last update was March 31.
1st April 2018 on mine.
Didn't Samsung commit to monthly security updates?

There hasn't been 1 Samsung phone that I have had that had gotten monthly updates

I RMA'd a P2XL because of the display flashing. I got a good one and sold it & bought the S9+. I would keep the Pixel if I had it to do over again. The hardware is ok with the Samsung but I don't want the Samsung account, Bixby or any of their apps. I thought they had evolved into something I could use and even like but I was wrong. I'm going to try to live with it until the next Pixel comes out. I'm sure it will be a beast.

You don't really have to use Samsung account or bixby or any of the Samsung apps. you could simply not use them, or even disable them with a package disabler. I personally prefer to use some Samsung apps but it's completely possible to use the phone without having to use Samsung account or their apps.
Updates seem to be monthly for global variants; I am not sure some why US variants are lagging on updates. Maybe they are working on bringing android P on time for you guys when google announces it (stable/final); because usually that is when Samsung updates start getting delayed for flagships.

It amazes me that people complain about Samsung bloatware but don't about Google's. Maps, Drive, Duo, Hangouts, GMail, and so much more! I have yet to own an Android device where junk, including Google's wasn't needed to be removed! A few minutes on how to use ADB easily solves the bloat that user is unhappy with. The Bixby button is easily disabled, a Samsung account isn't needed (I don't have one), and hopefully Samsung will allow us to remap that useless button with Bixby disabled.
Updates every 3 to 4 months seems to be the common theme for most manufactures outside of Google. Updates are good but they can't make up for garbage hardware, like LG's display on the Pixel 2 XL. Flickering is the least important issue with those displays to be complaining about. Uniformity issues, which LG calls a "characteristic of the manufacturing process" and graininess are high up there. Even with Google giving LG tons of money just about every year, LG's mobile division still loses money and has for 11 years straight!
There might be little annoyances with Samsung's updates and implementation but those are easily changed. When it comes tot he hardware though, you really can't beat those Samsung OLED panels and the hardware to go with it.

download samfirm or that new download tool - I think it is called FRIJA t - and use it to search for the latest firmware -in the device field, enter SM-T860 and then enter your CSC - if you are in the US - enter the letters xar as your CSC and it will find the most recent firmware (August Security Patch) and allow you to download it. Then use the latest patched odin to flash.
Hope this is helpful

Calm down. Just a bit of banter. The odd security update isn't what I mean. Updates will be rare on the s6 and they haven't improved that much . Be months before Android 10
Still can't get updates on the WiFi 256GB version. I am still running Security Patch August 1, 2019. Is there an update available and if so how can I get it?
I found that updates can be installed on the tablet using SmartSwitch.
For me (in Germany) it came as usual over the air.

I don't think so, I had installed the normal web update and then since then it never connects to the server when checking for updates.
Thanks, this is valuable information for me. So, you are always on home csc, and have this problem
Before today, it would fail to connect to the server. I just manually checked now and it's downloading an update. Tab S6 WiFi only US model.
Still no update here, disappointing to still be on the August security update....
Is it normal for a such a device as this to be 2 months behind on updates? I don't mind, just find it interesting that other samsung devices are getting the august update, while this device (for some) is still stuck on June. I guess considering this is a tablet and not subject to the same update features as a phone, it may take a little longer.
If you read this, you'll note that all Samsung Tablets are update quarterly.

I'm currently holding the A526U1 bought unlocked and on Metro as a carrier - my CSC appears to be TMK. (Unrooted, though I probably don't need to specify that with that U1) As of right now I still haven't gotten the Android 12 update, though a friend with the A52 5G on T-Mobile has, and that was about a week ago. I sort of expected to get mine pretty soon afterwards, with Metro being owned by T-Mobile and all, but nope, not the case. Was wondering where everyone else in the US is on the update, both on the large carriers and the smaller ones. I'm curious as to whether we're "mostly there" or still just getting started on the rollout.
Actually, it says on the T-Mobile website that their latest update is 12. https://www.t-mobile.com/support/de...a52-5g/software-updates-samsung-galaxy-a52-5g - I haven't asked him what model number he has, but he otherwise has the A52 5G and lives in the northeastern US just like I do. So it's definitely here, but not on my model/CSC.
Ah, yeah! I provided the info about my particular model but really was curious about the full, wider net in the US; my bad not clarifying further on that part!

I also got the latest security patch just a few days ago.. I will say, there seems to be some glitches in this latest Android. For instance when typing sometimes the keyboard just disappears.. Plus the soft keys disappear and I can not exit back to the home screen.. This is mostly after watching videos online.. And a few times when I had the phone app open, I could not view recent calls or access my contacts, except opening up the contact app.

My friend on T-Mobile says he's gotten at least two follow-up patches after the main patch and was actually complaining about having to update so often, to which I said "dude you WANT those patches after a big OS update, they're cleaning up stuff that you're otherwise going to run into" - and I'd guess this is a good example of some of that stuff they haven't gotten to yet. I still have not received the new update, interestingly - I'm not sure whether Metro is being careful not to release a update that isn't quite finished baking or if my exact model isn't prioritized, but it would be nice to think that the version I end up with is a little more polished than the one you're having to deal with (boy figuring out quotes took me a hot second)
This is what I was talking about. The missing soft keys. They came back after swiping to take a screen shot

That's very weird. Okay Metro if you want to take your time making sure I don't gotta deal with that I'm cool honestly. Tho tbh this patch from Android 11 I'm on I have weird activity happen with Gboard - Gboard will try to activate but end up flashing open and then shut again, sometimes with what may be a real flash of noise on the screen that is hard for my eyes to actually detect. It's hard to predict when it will happen but it happens often enough! On the videos, not even scrolling back upwards makes the soft keys come back? (I ask because scrolling down in the gallery makes them disappear for me until I go up again)
Nope not even scrolling. I have let the screen time out then open again. Then the keys reappear.

I have the same exact model as you: A526U1, but I'm unlocked on AT&T. I too still do not have the Android 12/One UI 4 update. So it's definitely not a Metro thing that's holding up your update. I think they haven't updated it because not every carrier has finished testing it? Really not sure, but I'm super frustrated that other A52 5Gs got it here in the US but not the U1.
I do (and I assume you also do) have the January security patch.

I recently found that information that said that unlocked phones need to be tested on every carrier before being updated, and truthfully at this point seeing the bugs that they're still working through, I feel like that might come out as an advantage for us unlocked users? I'm not sure if it works the way I think it works but it's almost like everybody who isn't unlocked ends up beta testing for the unlocked users?
I do have the January security patch like you, but yeah, no big update yet. But I've contented myself with that on the logic above.
For anyone curious, I received the update last night for my unlocked A52 5G on Metro - so far I haven't noticed any bugs - in fact I think some minor issues I had seen with my display are gone? But there's still time lol. Hex theming is running successfully on it, as a sidenote
I actually got my update for Android 12 and One UI 4.0 a couple weeks ago and another security patch about a week later. From what I have read it has only been released for the A52 5G phones that are not carrier locked. Mine is the SM-A526U and I use with MetroPCS. So far I haven't had any issues with my updates and everything is working good. I did flash a custom GCAM 8.3 port from the new Google Pixel before the 12 update but both camera apps work pretty well with GCAM only having slightly better features. It does take some tinkering with as the ported app at first would take between 1-2 seconds to actually take the picture

My A526U (MetroPCS, unlocked) is now on Android 12.
