I'm thinking about getting a G8 Power, and some things that seem to be missing on paper are a compass and 802.11ac.
Are they really missing? How does this affect use in 2020?

Hi, since April the camera is not working anymore in my Atrix, when I open any camera app the screen is black and after a bit they freeze. When I try to use flash as torch it works the first time I turn it on and then I have to reboot to make it work again. I tried to flash another ROM/ kernel but that did not work. I opened the phone and the interior seems OK as far as I can see. Does anybody know what kind of problem it could be and how could I possibly solve it?
Thanks
I think either your camera sensor, the connector or your motherboard is screwed.
Sent from my undervolted, underclocked, power saving Motorola Atrix.

I know it's been a long time, but mine did as well.
I found that it's just extremely touchy. You have to remove the back case to get good access to the entire button underneath and just press the button in various places/positions.
It may take awhile to find the position that'll trigger it.
You can find a replacement button at https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2510209.m570.l1313&_nkw=htc+amaze+power&_sacat=0
And to take the device apart: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/HTC+Amaze+Motherboard+Replacement/73022

I haven't done it yet, and may not considering 3G is going away and there is no LTE with it (funny, given "4G" in the name).
Given the "similar threads", it seems this is a common issue. Disappointing, but definitely better than LG or Moto issues. My old Nokia has been flawless other than using the very obsolete Symbian OS.
Anyone here upgrade from the Moto One Action to the Power?
I use the One Action as a backup, little hiccups like the slow(er) charging and the less-than-ideal screen sensitivity are making me lean towards replacing it with one of the new offerings.
I'd be interested to know if anyone else went from the One Action to the Power and what differences/improvements/downgrades you have noticed.
Mine (one Power) screen is 100% even glass plate installed
One Power can take 15 Watts charging

The screen protector option is really a hanging point for me, good to know the Power doesn't carry over the same issue.
Did you have the Moto One Action?

G7 touch issue can be frustrating
It can be whacky except I use thumb
G Power is perfect
Hi im on moto g7 and i have freaking screnn persistence -after using some white app even 2-3 minutes, i have still when i launch another app, i have still white buttons etc on my screen - on dark theme this shows massive is this problem is on Moto G8 Power to? cuz on mot g8 plus ifound some threads thi is still a problem, like on old unfamous Moto G4
I really have a problem, managed to solve it somehow
I haven't encountered this on my G8 Power. Please keep in mind that I use dark mode for all apps, on every phone.
I'm crossposting this from the g8 stylus forum -- if this isn't allowed, please let me know, but as this devices forum has more active members and posters, and the devices internals are practically identical, I thought I'd give it a chance.
Hello all -- has anyone else been experiencing screen retention? I've had this phone *brand new* , not refurbished or used, or a little but over 3 months now, and it has noticable burn-in from the status bar.
I rarely use this phone outdoors / max brightness, and I was wondering if anyone else experienced this, because I'm disappointed from how 3 months of use can easily show on a brand new phone. It's much more pronounced than my 2 year old Moto G7 power.
Do I have a dud, or something wrong with my screen? I have a protector, a good case, and have kept my device well cared for. I'm considering sending it back to Motorola if i manage to unroot it and lock the bootloader back up.
A photo is attached here, it's more noticable in real life so I apologise for the poor quality.
Did this happened over night or over a period of time? Also, is it possible to show another picture with the whole phone? I'm having trouble grasping what is happening to your screen.
I had the same thing happen on the 30th with my g power. Ghost images of the top bar and a large rectangle in the middle of the screen. I turned off my screensaver when charging and disabled display peek for now. The retention has gone away but I have no idea what caused it. I never use full brightness and usually only have the screen on for 10 minutes or less.
i have the same issue with my moto g8 power (model 3), i use it almost always on full brightness since may 2020, sometimes it will happen, sometimes won't
same here mot g7 2 min with facebook and boom
