Hi,
I am owning a oneplus one phone and I am very much addicted to it. Due my recent job change I can carry only non camera phone to my work place. Is there a way to disable both the cameras in oneplus one device.
Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
AmarG
if your rooted just freeze the camera app or any other app that using camera and use a app icon hider to hide it in your app drawer. basicaly this will just disable your camera app
I can't open the flashlight app. It says that i don't have the rights to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Hi, I think it only works if you are using the stock launcher... I'm using NOVA launcher and it doesn't work... Using the in-built Huawei widgets doesn't work with Nova either....you've got to use ones from the play store etc.
Solution:- use the torch feature from the notification tray. Hope this helps.

From what I've seen, none of the Huawei-supplied widgets work with third-party launchers - I tried putting the Huawei weather widget onto Nova and it crashed it (necessitating an uninstall-reinstall to fix).
There are three ways to get your torch to work;
Access it from the notification pull-down
Draw a letter on the screen with your knuckle (needs to be enabled in "Smart Assistance" - I use "c" for camera, "e" for torch, "m" for PlayerPro and "w" for weather), or
Swipe up from the lock screen.
Of these, I've found the last to be most convenient - the most likely times that you'll want your torch are when your 'phone's locked.
Hi, i am aware that hidden applications menu gone with Emui 8.
When you are using home screen with app drawer option, is there a way to hide apps or even lock app drawer with fingerprint?
Use this app. It allows you to enable the hidden app menu gesture again.

Yes. That screenshot was from my phone. Hidden app gesture works fine on my Mate 10. I installed the app from the app store so try that and not the pc tool.
Ok, thank you very much @tboy2000, i will try with app from play store then.
One more quick question pls; hidden application menu can be used with homescreen drawer style also or only available with standart (all icons on homescreen) style?

It works with my all icons homescreen. I haven't tried it with drawer style. That's for you to try.

I've tried both, and hiding apps only seems to work on the standard home screen. I can't figure out how to hide (if it even is possible) in the drawer style...
Double post
I am totally with you, i am coming from 3 years old phone and i was able to do it easily.
At least, i wish i had an option to lock app drawer with fingerprint etc...
I dont think it differs anything but using Mate 10 or Pro? @jk1992

I have the Mate 10 Pro
Use Nova Launcher (I use Prime version...worth every small penny) and you can hide apps in drawer.
This worked for me after a few tries (did enable option in tweaker tool, but may not be needed) :

No native app launcher has ever given me so much doubt before, I usually went straight to Nova, but OneUI can replace Nova + Sesame(both paid) in most occasions, and it looks really good and seamless.
Any performance/benefits difference you noticed besides Nova's typical customization?
Updated:
Nova vs OneUI, You can see how many frames OneUI drops because of that blur effect, I'd say the case is closed until it gets improved.
Nova
OneUI

I stay with Nova for vertical scrolling in the app drawer and swipe left to Google. During the Pie beta program many of us asked for vertical scrolling but they didn't listen.
Oneui doesn't hide apps... Other than that I feel like they're close
OneUI also supports this fancy UI customization tool made by Samsung called Good Lock that I recently discovered. I've tested it and it works perfectly with my S10+.
You can download it from the Samsung Store if you're in one of the few available regions, or you can just install the APK manually.

I doubt this is unique to the plus but there should be a option in the Home Screen settings to hide apps from the app drawer, unless you were referring to something else?

Oneui home screen settings accessible by long pressing has a hide app option too!

Nova works great with Good Lock also. Good lock was actually available in 2018, I used it with a S9 Plus. It was disabled during the Pie Beta, but was updated yesterday to work with the stable pie release & the s10 plus

Since Pie I've had to give up on Nova and Tesla Unread
App notifications just don't work properly

Correct me if I am wrong, but one ui cannot swipe right into googlenow, nor can it lower the notification window by pulling down anywhere on the screen.
I love the idea of removing a 3rd party app, but Nova still seems to be King for my needs.

With the latest Beta, Nova no longer needs TeslaUnread for notifications. There are choices for None, Dynamic badges, Dots, Numeric Dots, or TeslaUnread and they work well on my S9 running Pie. Google Discover has been added with a download of Nova Google Companion.

I agree. Nova mainly so I can have Google now.instead of Bixby home.
I would love to use icon packs system wide, my OCD strikes a bit when the icons on the Homescreen are different to them in menus, apps and mitli tasking view.
I was surprised how smooth one UI runs, I owned a Samsung smartphone years ago from work and it was very laggy. Now, this is my first Samsung, it's very smooth, but I would like more customization and never understood why manufacturers won't support icon packs natively.
On Huawei EMUI you're able to create an own theme with an app where the icons were enabled globally.
I'm currently using one ui. I also have rootless pixel launcher installed. I'm liking what they've done with one ui launcher. With package disabled pro I've frozen all of bixby except for bixby voice. That allows me to change the default bixby key to Google feed. You just select Google for the app and the feed opens right up with a tap of the bixby button. So even though it isn't a swipe from the left it is still a tap on the left for Google feed and one ui.
I tried to like the One UI, but ultimately it had to go. Using Nova mostly because of the google now feed.

I've downloaded it again and although they've moved Tesla unread into the main Nova menus you still need it, all that's changed is you can access it via NovaView attachment 4720038
