Volte+Vowifi Problem After 10.0.11/10.0.12 - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

Hello guys I am living in turkey and my carrier support both but i have a problem. oneplus doesn't officially supported in turkey and i think problem started in here. so i did logkit+engineer mode thing and volte works on my carrier (not for the other carriers) and we used to use qpst(pdc) for enable vowifi (and volte depends on carrier). But i realized that after latest update i changed vodafone_hungary to germany_volte_vodafone but when I restarted phone it turned automatically vodafone_hungary again and with that settings Vowifi didn't work. i tried 2-3 times and still same. i tried open full port switch with adb shell it also didn't work
Any solution will be appreciated

[Q] [Need Help] Flashed 5839i to 5830i -> Extremely poor signal

(searched the forums here, but there is apparently noone with a similar problem)
I have a larger problem with a former S5839i (French model - Bouygues branding). The phone belongs to a colleague of mine. She called me a few days ago claiming that her phone "is broken". It was stuck at the bootscreen. The software she used before the phone failed was the initial Bouygues release. Apparently there was an update pushed to her phone (the newer Bouygues-release) and it softbricked the device.
No big deal. I flashed the phone to a 5830i - using the emergency recovery files for Odin that someone posted here on the forum (the 5-part set including the pit-file). Afterwards flashed to the latest European build (Netherlands). Worked like a charm, the phone is working smoothly.
At least I thought so. But when I started it with her SIM, it would not recognize her Network (Pelephone - Israel). The same is true for other bands/providers. Other phones show a full signal with that SIM, the problematic device will barely recognize a network at all (sometimes gives one shaky bar). Prior to the softbrick, the phone would have a full signal as well.
Here is what I tried so far:
- Tried flashing several different basebands as well as changing the entire system (to Czech, French, etc version) - Problem remains
- Checked for possible SIM-locks - Phone is not locked
- Used shortcut *#197328640# and forced the phone to use only the 850Mhz or 2100Mhz band (these are the ones Pelephone operates on) - Problem remains
I have officially run out of ideas. So: Is there a white cellphone wizard that can come to my rescue...?
EDIT: Before someone asks: I checked if the IMEI is still there. Everything normal on that front...

[SOLVED] Accidentally changed the Radio Band to USA

So by a stupid mistake I have selected in *#*#4636#*#* the Radio Band to USA. The signal suddenly dropped and it stopped working at all, the nework does not connect except in 4G and only for data. Calls and text are not working, only 4G data works fine. This is on the sim1 though. On sim2 all is ok (except that with the X829 ROM, on sim2 I have no data, and on sim1 I have no calls )) ). I was on sim1 when I've changed the Radio Band, so I guess that only this one got affected since sim2 is working properly.
Is there any Radio Band files that I can restore? Or some app that can restore the settings of the modem?
Any help is highly appreciated.
PS: Reinstalling the ROM (clean or dirty) doesn't help. Factory resetting also doesn't help. I would downgrade to 014s but I'm afraid not to end up with a brick.

If i were you. I would change the rom from china to indian rom. It would help you. The radio band of chinese rom and the indian rom is different. It would replace the radio band of chinese rom and if it doesn't work. Then return to the chinese rom
I'm 100% sure it would help you.

I did the same thing by my mistake. And my le max 2 also became not able to connect internet. In my case, it can't connect both 4G and 3G .
But I fixed it. But I don't know that it get back to the original completely.
I'm japanese. And I'm sorry for that my English skil is very poor.
My current rom is Le2_X820-MAX_ROW-5.8.015S_V29_CUOCO92.
I used DFS CDMA TOOL and checked the items on the "Band Preferred" same as "RF BC Config".
1. download HTC Diag Driver. You have to customize .inf file later.
2. conect device to your windows pc and choose MTP and USB Debugging.
3. enter the follows command.
"adb shell"
"su"
"setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb"
When you enter this command, your device change over diag mode.
4. diag driver install.
You have to find hardwawer ID from device manager.
And replace the hardware ID in .inf file.
5. If you install diag driver correctly, you will be able to use DFS CDMA TOOL.
sorry, I can't explain any more..English is difficult...
I bought my phone from china and I'm in US, and it works perfect on stock with LTE enabled for AT&T by default. Might I ask why did you change it to US band and it stopped working? It would still work right?

Many thanks for the advice but it didn't help. I had installed the indian rom and then to the chinese without any change in the behavior of the modem. I'll try the chatmonchy's advice to see if there will be any improvement.

Actually I'm in Europe and looks like we use slightly different bands (??). I get 4G data but without calls. To other networks like 2G and 3G it connects sometimes but it's for few seconds only. I even don't remember what made me change the bands to USA, I guess I was curios what settings those were. The options are "USA band" and "Band 6", neither one is working well for my device. And strangely though, there is no other option to go back like "Auto" or something. It seems that I'm not the only one that did it. After a google search, it turned out that a lot of people had the same issue. For some, the factory reset helped, for others was flashing via TWRP the radio bands again.
I had solved the issue and I will post a guide later on for those who want to unlock additional bands or did the same mistake as I did.
Thanks for the help guys.

Hi, gyus
I had the same problem, i select USA band and everything went wrong,
The simplest way for me was:
installing "X820 LeMax2 RevolutioN_Team Resurrection Remix", no other from TeamSpain, only Resurrection Remix
http://revolutionlemax2.blogspot.al/
https://mega.nz/#!T9o0wAhJ!iLa9mrPAr...VkCg3_L-q2RgnA
then after installation, go in dialer and call *#*#4636#*#*.
There are three band: Automaic, USA, and EURO.
I select the EURO and everything i'ts OK.
BEFORE DO ACTIONS DON'T FORGET TO BACKUP ALL THE ROM WHERE YOU ARE WITH TWRP

Unfortunately USA band selected
Hi,
I live in India. I bought Oppo F3 Plus (CPH1613) 4Gb Ram, 64GB Storage, Qualcomm MSM8976 Pro Snapdragon 653 a year ago and was working too much fine. I was wondering about Qualcomm mobile secret codes and found this *#*#4636#*#* . I dialed this and accidentally changed radio band to USA band and suddnly on instant my mobile didn't get any network signal. From then, I went for Oppo care, and mobile repairing shops and self tried and tested for lots of time; but everyone unable to bring phone to normal. I reset my mobile, flashed stock rom for countless times, wiped all data but nothing helped me out. Finally i rooted my oppo f3 plus and tried to boot in fastboot mode; but Oppo removed bootloader and fastboot mode from 2016 (as posted in XDA). I got a little link about resetting USA band to automate and is erasing modemst1 and modemst2. But again it have to be performed from fastboot.
Help me out for my mobile.
You can flash a modem file, it will reset it as well. Changing the ROM won't update the modem configuration. Try to search modem files and flash them via TWRP.

VoLTE and Wifi calling using root, for Three UK. Will it work, what might I lose?

I want to try and enable VoLTE and wifi calling on Three uk on a J8110 as the signal is marginal in the two locations I'd like to use the phone from and coming from a samsung S7, I can see that the phones a few db's down on signal to start off with, so I really need the VoLTE or wifi to make the phone useful to me.
Now under this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-1/help/google-dialer-volte-t3975441
They say they managed to get VoLTE going using root.
1. Root
2. File Manager with root support
3. Go to /oem/modem-config
4. Delete "anysim" folder
5. Rename "S9033.1" to "anysim"
6. Go here " https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80231731&postcount=395" and download "VoEnabler.zip" From the Google Drive link
7. Put "VoEnabler.zip" onto your device and install via Magisk and reboot.
8. You should now be able to use VoLTE and VoWiFi.

So my three questions are;
Is this likely to work? e.g allow VoLTE and maybe wifi calling
Will it break safetynet by rooting the phone? (as I use internet banking)
Will it break anything else like DRM keys.
I see there appears to be multiple rooting options for Android these days if I can do the above is there a particular rooting method thats more likely to preserve the safetynet compatibility?
And maybe the DRM keys.
As I'm only interested in Enabling VoLTE and maybe wifi calling.
As an aside to that I see in this thread, https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-1/help/enable-volte-ee-uk-t3958112/page3
That some people on EE have got VoLTE working without anything special is this just because EE is just a network sl*t and just allow anyone on there system?
Best Regards

If you're on the Customized UK firmware, VoLTE should work by default.
I have the Customized UK firmware downloaded and I just checked, and it does include the required MBN file for VoLTE on H3G in UK. I am on the Dual SIM J9110 however, but I reckon it should be the same on the single SIM J8110 as well.
Yes, rooting will break SafetyNet on the Xperia 1. Magisk Hide works on some banking apps, but some of still fail to work once the bootloader is unlocked.
You will lose DRM keys, but from what I've heard, they are restored if you re-lock the bootloader.

Yeah can confirm its not working on three uk, as other have already said in other threads..
*#*#4636#*#* > Phone info > VoLTE provisioned is grayed out.
Also cannot access three on the 800mhz LTE band 20
TBH three when I spoke to them just wiped there hands of the issue and said we don't sell the phone so speak to sony.
So much for industry standards.

You could try the method that enables the VoLTE toggle. In theory it should work with just that because the required files for IMS registration to work are already included in the modem for the Xperia 1.
why not just flashing another FW before losing DRM keys while rooting
we had a user he used a non European Market Xperia 1
no option for voLTE or Wificalling
after flashing the European FW everything was working just fine for him without any kind of rooting
I have flashed South East Asian (SEA) on mine and it has option for the VoLTE in the Network & internet > Mobile Network
It has Enable VoLTE and it can be toggled on and off. (although we don't have the VoLTE here )
If they are already providing VoLTE. Flash SEA firmware.

XZ1 (SOV36) Wifi Keeps Getting Disconnected

Hello everyone,
I'm a new user of XZ1 (SOV36) AU unlocked with JP rom 47.2.c.1.126
My wifi keeps getting disconnected randomly. Tried 2 different wifi connections and it is the same
I know it was a sony known bug. Is it not resolved on this rom? Is there any other Rom I can try without this bug? I noticed others are flashing global roms however they said the phone is not going to deep sleep and the battery life is shortened.
Please let know if you are aware of some tricks to reolved this.
PS: I enabled wifi verbose logging in Developer options and turned off mobile data always on.
Thanks guys!
bootloader unlock not possible so i can't disable NFC when I flash global rom. i guess I have no choice but to live with Japan rom

I just got this phone today. AFAIK you have few options for debloating.
1. Use temporary root method
2. Flash AU rom by replacing the OEM file from a global rom (UK variants). This debloats it by not installing AU bloats.

have same rom. no wifi issues. probably you need to change the wifi channel? are you using 2.4G or 5G wifi or does it happen in both. It doesn reconnect automatically after disconnect? maybe its related to the Acces Point wifi strength also
I'm near the router.
this is 5Ghz wifi. I'm trying to check with 2.4ghz, just can't update the one I am using now.
It reconnects automatically after disconnect, takes a couple of minutes. sometimes i need to manually connect in settings.
I'll observe it and will try with 2.4ghz
I think I have the same problem too. Disconnect too often and then the 5G Wifi disappeared for a while, while my other devices can still see 5G
But for me, it usally happens if you just rebooted your phone or if you go from home, connect to other wifi and go back home.
I tried reflashing and resetting my router and tweaking the settings correctly but nothing helped much. It's only my XZ1 that happens. 2G works perfectly but it's slow.
My firmware is 47.2.A.11.228

What is the original model of your XZ1? Mine is SOV36 originally and have been flashed with G8341 by the seller, with the bootloader which can't be unlocked. It has random reboot issue which has been fixed by uninstalling nfc modules, and debloated. I'm not having any issue with 5G or 2.4G wifi.
I only have problem with wifi on my Android Box which was fixed by changing the wifi channel on my router. The NFC module could be the reason interfering with the wifi signal or any of the inner parts. You can try disabling/uninstalling the nfc module from your phone and try again to see if the problem persists.
I uninstalled the nfc module from the ADB shell. Or you can just disable them also from ADB shell. Its not possible to disable it from the settings.

Oh SOV36 is a japanese carrier model. Yeah carrier phone are normally not unlockable
Mine is G8341, normal phone and unlockable. Rooted with Magisk and debloated by disabling apps. Didn't want to uninstall completely to avoid bricking
Did another tweaking of router settings. I don't use NFC so i disabled it on settings and frozen them via Titanium backup and reboot. Seems working so far, no disconnect. Hope it works longer

SOV36 is unlockable, someone has already did it, but it involves paying a sum. I would like to know how he did it. And there is also someone who installed TWRP with root and LOS on a bootlocked phone. I don't know how he actually did it but I have an idea.
Also when you disabled nfc from settings, its not totally disabled. You can see that there are some nfc modules still running in the background and they need to be disabled completely using adb command for unrooted phones.

Alright
installing TWRP on a locked bootloader is possible since but would need rooted phone. We did it back then on Z3 compact
Downgrade to the lowest firmware with exploits, root, install TWRP and flash latest firmware via TWRP
cool. let me try your suggestions above and I'll let you know. maybe the nfc because it is the only difference to global version.
maybe my phone has some issues too. i have another japan phone xz2 from docomo and wifi works well. both jpn firmware and global flashed fimware.

I would like to try this on my bootlocked SOV36. One thing I noted is from J4nn, he mentioned about setting OEM and another partition (can't recall) as read only or else it will trigger an error, I wonder which TWRP version has this set or must it be set/compiled manually. I would like to use any other custom roms just to test them especially android 10/11, although current global pie version has no problem only NFC is disabled which I don't use.
Found out that the bootloader can be unlocked by qunlock and need credit for unlocking, but if a custom firmware can be flashed without unlocking the bootloader then it is not needed.

I think japanese NFC uses felica and osaifu keitai for NFC modules, I have these modules also on a S7 Edge Docomo version. There's no problem if you use japanese ROMs, problem will only be on firmwares with incompatible/modified NFC modules.

I'll be fine with Global rom as long as there's no battery drain. Right now, I'm still using the latest AU firmware. It is fine, I just disabled some apps and uninstalled those that can be installed. Using Google Phone and Messages app makes it like a Global firmware.
The wifi is slow and disconnects randomly again after reboot, even I fully disabled NFC. Wifi 2G/5G still fast on other devices no problem
I know this thread is about SOV36, but i'm not sure if it has a difference with normal phone with nordic firmware
I think i'm gonna buy another phone now

yes you are suppose to just uninstall the nfc modules, the link is for xz1. its just for reference
For wifi random drops; flash via emma flash tool.
I had same issue whenever i flash stock via newFlasher.

Question Active VOLTE and VOWIFI

Hello friends, I use the device and it does not show me VOLTE, I solved it with the magisk module, it activates the buttons to activate the service and then I select the company profile using the PDC program (it is the same as the volte and vowifi activation of the oneplus 6)
The problem I have is that the change is not permanent, when I restart the cell phone the unwanted profile returns without VOLTE.
Delete the Oversea-Commercial_DS profile but even after reboot the changes are not permanent.
What can you recommend me to solve the problem of activating VOLTE in unsupported countries (which do not have a factory profile)
I clarify to activate I followed the tutorial here
