So by a stupid mistake I have selected in *#*#4636#*#* the Radio Band to USA. The signal suddenly dropped and it stopped working at all, the nework does not connect except in 4G and only for data. Calls and text are not working, only 4G data works fine. This is on the sim1 though. On sim2 all is ok (except that with the X829 ROM, on sim2 I have no data, and on sim1 I have no calls )) ). I was on sim1 when I've changed the Radio Band, so I guess that only this one got affected since sim2 is working properly.
Is there any Radio Band files that I can restore? Or some app that can restore the settings of the modem?
Any help is highly appreciated.
PS: Reinstalling the ROM (clean or dirty) doesn't help. Factory resetting also doesn't help. I would downgrade to 014s but I'm afraid not to end up with a brick.

If i were you. I would change the rom from china to indian rom. It would help you. The radio band of chinese rom and the indian rom is different. It would replace the radio band of chinese rom and if it doesn't work. Then return to the chinese rom

I did the same thing by my mistake.And my le max 2 also became not able to connect internet. In my case, it can't connect both 4G and 3G .
But I fixed it. But I don't know that it get back to the original completely.
I'm japanese.And I'm sorry for that my English skil is very poor.
My current rom is Le2_X820-MAX_ROW-5.8.015S_V29_CUOCO92.
I used DFS CDMA TOOL and checked the items on the "Band Preferred" same as "RF BC Config".
1. download HTC Diag Driver. You have to customize .inf file later.
2. conect device to your windows pc and choose MTP and USB Debugging.
3. enter the follows command.
"adb shell"
"su"
"setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb"
When you enter this command, your device change over diag mode.
4. diag driver install.
You have to find hardwawer ID from device manager.
And replace the hardware ID in .inf file.
5. If you install diag driver correctly, you will be able to use DFS CDMA TOOL.
sorry, I can't explain any more..English is difficult...
I bought my phone from china and I'm in US, and it works perfect on stock with LTE enabled for AT&T by default. Might I ask why did you change it to US band and it stopped working? It would still work right?

Many thanks for the advice but it didn't help. I had installed the indian rom and then to the chinese without any change in the behavior of the modem. I'll try the chatmonchy's advice to see if there will be any improvement.

Actually I'm in Europe and looks like we use slightly different bands (??). I get 4G data but without calls. To other networks like 2G and 3G it connects sometimes but it's for few seconds only. I even don't remember what made me change the bands to USA, I guess I was curios what settings those were. The options are "USA band" and "Band 6", neither one is working well for my device. And strangely though, there is no other option to go back like "Auto" or something. It seems that I'm not the only one that did it. After a google search, it turned out that a lot of people had the same issue. For some, the factory reset helped, for others was flashing via TWRP the radio bands again.
I had solved the issue and I will post a guide later on for those who want to unlock additional bands or did the same mistake as I did.

I live in India. I bought Oppo F3 Plus (CPH1613) 4Gb Ram, 64GB Storage, Qualcomm MSM8976 Pro Snapdragon 653 a year ago and was working too much fine. I was wondering about Qualcomm mobile secret codes and found this *#*#4636#*#* . I dialed this and accidentally changed radio band to USA band and suddnly on instant my mobile didn't get any network signal. From then, I went for Oppo care, and mobile repairing shops and self tried and tested for lots of time; but everyone unable to bring phone to normal. I reset my mobile, flashed stock rom for countless times, wiped all data but nothing helped me out. Finally i rooted my oppo f3 plus and tried to boot in fastboot mode; but Oppo removed bootloader and fastboot mode from 2016 (as posted in XDA). I got a little link about resetting USA band to automate and is erasing modemst1 and modemst2. But again it have to be performed from fastboot.
Help me out for my mobile.
You can flash a modem file, it will reset it as well. Changing the ROM won't update the modem configuration. Try to search modem files and flash them via TWRP.

And the good thing about it is it can make the battery can last a little longer because the setting set just choose the wcdma only or just gsm only it depends what the best in my area, and can reduce the heating that cause from device always search what the best network if we choose the wcdma/gsm option. And here the thing start. I follow the instruction: first you dial *#*#4636#*#* and the setting window come out. And the choose phone setting, set the network to wcdma only or gsm only. And i choose the wcdma only. After that start to refresh the smsc and update it. After that the instruction said to choose to select the radio band. After i select the radio band my device loose the signal and it just show x in signal bar. After that i try to restart the phone but it come out the same no signal appear. I try to remove and replace the sim card but it steel same, i try to change with another sim card from another operator and it steel same. After that my last choice is to reset my phone to factory setting. And seems it work my signal is back. But after that my phone signal become so weak and recently i got my signal got lost for a view time it just show x but it's not for long the bar seems back again. I start confused is that the advice i choose is wrong ? And there a some info that i got from some search in internet that says upgrade the baseband can make a risk that wifi, LTE signal, and the other connections setting loose they capabilities. I'm so frustated now need help immediately, anybody have some advice or solution? thank you first.

I have the same problem too. I go to the service menu then select the USA band, and I lost the signal. And there is no networks found/available!
The solution is, you need to flash the baseband. First you need to download the newest stock rom (the stock must for your country, you can try asking Google). After that, you download and install the flashtool ( ask to Google too ).
After that, install the drivers (not compatible on Windows 8.1 ), goto C:/FlashTool/Drivers, and run the installer, then select Flashmode Driver.
After you install the driver, move the downloaded rom to C:/FlashTool/Firmwares, then run the flashtool via start menu.
Click thunder icon, select Flashmode, then select the firmware you downloaded.
Make sure that you only flash baseband, not kernel or wipe data, or anything (I forgot where the checkboxes located)
Then, click flash. Turn of your phone. Then hold Volume Down Button, and plug the USB cable that connected to PC, until the illumination bar turns green.
Then wait the process, and it's done.

well Sony is bad, it is normal the XSP got low signal and also this product is discontinued. There will be no any updates again in the future :crying:

that solution is for you accidently choosen the wrong band, and you lost the signal forever. If they are having low signals, try switching from WCDMA to 3G

Ok, sorry for not giving details earlier. I've been using my XSP for 6 months on a 2G connexn, and all was good. Then I tried to shift to a 3G and my problem, on WCDMA only or WCDMA Preferred, I get absolutely no connection, no voice, no data, no bars! GSM only for 2G is still fine. Wifi is working fine.

I "own" an Ace (S5830M, everything from i/C works fine). I was playing around with some custom ROMs and evertything was going pretty fine. I installed Jelly Blast (OTA 3) and flashed back to stock a few times, everything was fine and working. Used the recovery/backup functionality from CWM (5.0) to switch between the mentioned installations and it was all good.
Here start the real problem:
During one of the instalation of the custom ROM i went to Advanced -> Format /system (Because probably I miss read the instructions). After this the phone booted and didn't bootlooped, instead it just showed the initial logo (white letters, phone model. Not Samsung animation). As I noted it was stuck I flashed stock from Odin and got it working back.
Everything is fine, the phone works as intended, exept that it "can't" use the baseband I was using before (850 MHz frequency, 3G). I say "can't" because after n tries I was able to send 1 SMS, and only one. All the others failed. And on really unusual occasions I get signal and the phone tells me the provider (Kolbi/ICE) but after a few seconds it loses the connection/signal.
What I've tried so far:
Go to Settings->Wireless Connections->Movile Networks:
There I tried to choose my carrier, but isn't listed 99% the time. The other two are(Claro/movistar). So I set it to automatic.
Check IMEI:
It is the right one
Try to restore from a previous working state with CWM:
I can't it says that there's a MD5 missmatch. (Can I force it?)
Flash a Modem file that is known to work (With another, same model, phone and carrier)
Same sympthoms: does not work.
Dial *#197328640# and play with the settings:
Here I setted to: Type: DUAL_MODE_UMTS_PREF
Band: AUTO
These are the same settings that the working phone.
Flash the stock carrier-branded firmware.
Without luck so far.

Guys I have a strange problem my razr wont connect to any of the data 2g or 3g only on custom roms like 4.4 Kitkat,Carbon rom etc . I flashed them on slot 1,2 even on stock slot but no luck.. I tried to change Baseband But It always failed So guys help me.....

2g/3g for many of the newer roms has been a problem with both the XT910 and XT912. I know with cyanogenmod 10.2 I'm still not able to connect to 2g/3g although LTE does work. With the newest release of cyanogenmod 11 though I do get 3g and LTE, although some people have been reporting they are not. Seems it's headed in the right direction. Give the latest CM11 build a shot and see if it works for you.

Yup my SIM is in contract and working on other phones I can make and receive calls but not on razr I get NO SERVICE message
Open the phone (or dialer, whatever you would like to call it) and Dial *#*#4636#*#* and go to Phone Information and tell us what the preferred network is.

What ROM did you get LTE Only on?
I learned that sometimes ROMs can mess up NV's. The only way of fixing this is to wipe everything and start fresh. And when you are flashing you cannot downgrade, it will fail every time. You may already know what I am telling you but just in case.
And what carrier are you with?

I dont think its the problem of sim jack. Just go to dialer then *#*#4636*#*# then to phone info then hit menu key select radio band & choose option to automatic.. Hope this helps you.. I had same issue when I chose US BAND

Hi. I have XT910 for more than two years. After brought the phone from Australia to Hong Kong (use Hong Kong SIM card) and back to Australia (replace SIM card with Aus one), I have the same problem as you. Phone can make voice call, but no mobile data connection (3G, 2G).
Want to know if your problem is fixed or not?

I've been using cm14 for a few months and then decided to flash nitrogen os. After flashing I can't call or receive calls from anybody, since my phone can only connect to LTE, but not 2g or 3g, and my network operator doesn't support VoLTE. I can still use data connection on LTE and send/receive text messages. My phone also connects to my Wifi network. When I select 2g only, 3g only or 2g/3g in settings I get no signal at all. My sim card and carrier (while connected to LTE only) are being detected, I have the correct IMEI. I've tried flashing MIUI through fastboot, flashing CM13, CM14 and flashing different kate firmwares on every rom. Does anybody know what to do?
I solved the issue by installing Network Guru and selected WCDMA in RAT locking menu. Then i selected clear forcings and the problem was gone.

I have the same exact problem, but on a Kenzo.. I don't have 2g/3g in Nitrogen OS, Xenon HD or Lineage os... but I have them on any miui ROM (official global dev/stable and xiaomi.eu)
But the strange thing is that I've been using Xenon HD and the Nitrogen OS for months without any problem... Before I try your solution, can you confirm your solution applies to the same problem?

I didn't have 2g or 3g on MIUI roms too. I recommend you to try it, you've got nothing to lose
You need root though.

Well... I don't know what to say... I tried the app still on miui (xiaomi.eu), and did what you described (even if the problem didin't exist on MIUI)... Then installed Nitrogen OS and... I have 2g/3g!... the only difference on this install is that I activated the phone without the SIM...
One of the two: or the Network guru app I used on miui persisted even after installing Nitorigen, or activating without SIM did the trick...

I am facing same problem on poco x3 nfc from last 4 days , during 1.5 years it was working perfect
please give me the solution and tell me is it completely software problem or it might be hardware problem??
Hi, I downloaded and installed Lineage ROM, everything was working fine but I found that I was not able to send text messages (receiving messages was okay), I tried change values under test menu (*#*#4636#*#*) but problem persist.
I tried clean installation of new ROM (Aosp).
I tried install new firmware from:

And finally, text messages are OK, unfortunately I am not able connect to 4G/ LTE networks now. Only 2G and 3G networks are working. LTE services were working without problem on original Miui and Lineage ROM.
Can someone try help me how solve it ? I would really appreciate any ideas.

Unfortunately LTE is not working on this ROM (Omni) for me too, but I expected it, because as I wrote I tried original MIUI as well. It's problem of wrong firmware, baseband, modem or something, because hard reset or flashing new rom don't fix it. Btw, this morning I was in big city in my country and my phone was able connect to LTE, but it was 1800 or 2100 MHz, which are available only in bigger cities. When I came back to home, it showing only H+ again. It seems my phone is not able to connect only to LTE on 800 MHz (B20) currently, which is most widespread LTE frequency in my country and this one is only available one in my location. And I was able connect to this network before. Unfortunately I don't know how I can bring it back.
Solved.
My friend share her .xqcn file with me (she has same phone) so I flashed modem file via QPST Flash Tool to my device. Xiaomi started receiving LTE in my location- B20 frequency band, unfortunatelly it was continuously connecting and disconnecting between "no signal" and 4G.
The next step was flash MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM 8.8.9 to my phone via Miflash. LTE seems be stable and fully working now.
