Here's my story, about 3 weeks ago i bought my new xperia SP, and first i get the sim card provide by some operator that include the package. And for some reason i have to change the sim card for another operator, but after i change the sim card the signal seems low then the first operator. And i try to get some information about this android phone. And i get this some information that give some advice about setting the signal. And the good thing about it is it can make the battery can last a little longer because the setting set just choose the wcdma only or just gsm only it depends what the best in my area, and can reduce the heating that cause from device always search what the best network if we choose the wcdma/gsm option. And here the thing start. I follow the instruction: first you dial *#*#4636#*#* and the setting window come out. And the choose phone setting, set the network to wcdma only or gsm only. And i choose the wcdma only. After that start to refresh the smsc and update it. After that the instruction said to choose to select the radio band. After i select the radio band my device loose the signal and it just show x in signal bar. After that i try to restart the phone but it come out the same no signal appear. I try to remove and replace the sim card but it steel same, i try to change with another sim card from another operator and it steel same. After that my last choice is to reset my phone to factory setting. And seems it work my signal is back. But after that my phone signal become so weak and recently i got my signal got lost for a view time it just show x but it's not for long the bar seems back again. I start confused is that the advice i choose is wrong ? And there a some info that i got from some search in internet that says upgrade the baseband can make a risk that wifi, LTE signal, and the other connections setting loose they capabilities. I'm so frustated now need help immediately, anybody have some advice or solution? thank you first.

I have the same problem too. I go to the service menu then select the USA band, and I lost the signal. And there is no networks found/available!
The solution is, you need to flash the baseband. First you need to download the newest stock rom (the stock must for your country, you can try asking Google). After that, you download and install the flashtool ( ask to Google too ).
After that, install the drivers (not compatible on Windows 8.1 ), goto C:/FlashTool/Drivers, and run the installer, then select Flashmode Driver.
After you install the driver, move the downloaded rom to C:/FlashTool/Firmwares, then run the flashtool via start menu.
Click thunder icon, select Flashmode, then select the firmware you downloaded.
Make sure that you only flash baseband, not kernel or wipe data, or anything (I forgot where the checkboxes located)
Then, click flash. Turn of your phone. Then hold Volume Down Button, and plug the USB cable that connected to PC, until the illumination bar turns green.
Then wait the process, and it's done.

well Sony is bad, it is normal the XSP got low signal and also this product is discontinued. There will be no any updates again in the future :crying:

that solution is for you accidently choosen the wrong band, and you lost the signal forever. If they are having low signals, try switching from WCDMA to 3G

Ok, sorry for not giving details earlier. I've been using my XSP for 6 months on a 2G connexn, and all was good. Then I tried to shift to a 3G and my problem, on WCDMA only or WCDMA Preferred, I get absolutely no connection, no voice, no data, no bars! GSM only for 2G is still fine. Wifi is working fine.

In samsung galaxy 3 there are options like dual mode/3g mode,bt in galaxy ace when I go in mobile networks there are this options : enable packet data, data roaming, access point name, mobile operator, use only 2g networks.according to airtel customer care I should chk on enable packet data and unchk on use only 2g network options I did so bt still can't get 3g,signals..

Are you sure there is 3G network? If so, did you make sure that in APN list there is the one provided by your carrier for 3G ?

Have you checked your APN settings?
Uncheck 2g mode only. If still you not see 3g symbol at left side of signal then in network setting go network operators and search available networks and choose airtel 3g.if still not get then go into keypad and type *#*#4636#*#* and select option phone imformation and in that you see gsm auto selected. In that choose wcdma only and press turn off radio then press turn on radio now press home button(not back button). You will get 3g. If not then reboot. I hope this will help you
You are using the wrong ROM or MODEM file with a Band Operator that's not supported for your company. Review the frecuency of your operator for 3G. Then, flash your phone with the correct ROM.

I installed the rom version 2.3.4 (vivo - Brazil) in my galaxy s5830L (3g 850/1900MHz). My mobile carrier works with 3G 2100MHz, so I can not connect to 3G only 2G (edge).
Do you know if there is any possibility to enable 2100MHz in s5830L 3G?

Hey really thnks for ur help...bt I want to clear some doubts see as u said i mst select airtel 3g bt problem is in network operators I m jst getting airtel option not airtel 3g.
And in second method after entering that code u said to press home button is it the that big middle button..and how to again stop 3g...
Most imp I chked in samsung monte with same sim card of airtel in same area bt in that mobile 3g signal came immediately...

Now I m really getting frustrated by this problem I called Samsung helpline they said for using 3g in some mobiles u have to do a Software Update in Samsung Service centre after which u will get that 3g/dual network mode option in ur Mobile network settings like other mobiles, bt I doubt if they can really help me bcozz about 2 months ago I had already done a Firmware update earlier its version was KC1 and after update its version is KC7 which i think is the latest version of Firmware available in India for Samsung galaxy ace. dude i think u are not reading my posts completely..i can say this bcozz right from my first post of this thread i m mentioning that with same sim card of airtel i m getting edge connection..and the problem is not with sim card its with cell itself bcozz when i tried same sim card in other mobile i immediately got 3g signal in same area..that bcozz after lots of search on google i saw that many are facing this problem of 3g not connecting..its due to a software bug in froyo 2.2.1 so people say only way to solve this problem is we will have to upgrade our froyo to 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 this might solve our problems bt still i have some queries which i have to clear like see if u can ans them :
1. which one will be better to go with android 2.3.3 Gingerbread or 2.3.4 Gingerbread for Samsung galaxy ace I mean which one has less problems and will solve my 3g problem!!
2. after unofficially upgrading to 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 will I be able to officially upgrade to 2.3.5 through kies in future.
3. For upgrading to 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 is it necessary to root the phone..
4. how much time does a whole upgrade process takes if my internet speed is Minimum 1Mbps…
5. How to come back to 2.2.1 Froyo Default version from 2.3.3 or 2.3.4(Steps with video or Img link will be very helpful)
Update to 2.3.4 is realy easy and not require root. You should first download 2.3.4 flash file and after download use odin to install flash file. When official update comes you can downgrade your phone to froyo so kies update it to latest version so chill.

K gr8 ..jst 2 questions how to downgrade back to froyo 2.2.1 I mean steps... And secondly does 2.3.4 gives any problem I mean any hangs, etc...
2.3.4 not hang atall. It remove lags from many games. I use it from 2 months and not get any problem. So just update. And abowt downgrade i post in my blog tomorrow. I hope you undarstand because you need to flash two firmware to get ddkc1(indian firmware)firmware back. So wait for that. But i ensure you that you will not downgrade in near future because gingerbread rocks

Strange I use the same phone no issues getting 3G here in Mumbai on a Vodaphone network. In my phone under settings - wireless and network settings- Mobile Networks- the option of use only 2G networks is unchecked. Let us know if the firmware update rectifies the issue....

I bought ace S5830 from USA (and this phone only support 850/1900 Mhz), but i live in Azerbaijan and here I use mobile operator sim that only have 2100 mhz band for 3G network. Logically, my phone can not connect to 3G network. My question,

I have this strange data connectivity issue, I am on a network(bsnl/mtnl, mumbai) and it supports hsdpa at 2100mhz band and our s2 supports that. now the problem is I am unable to connect to hsdpa network(data) signal comes fine no issues there. but with the same sim if I use my frnd's xperia go I am able to get data connection just fine. moreover if I move out of my area then I am able to connect on s2 also. I dont know what the problem is.
I am on jellysnap rom. xxms4 modem and xxms1 base.

did you try to change the modem? or you can check this with other rom whether it is working there or not.

you could try checking your apn settings, detection of apn are different on different roms.
or try forcing the network to use WCDMA mode (go to phone, then dial *#*#4636#*#*), go inside the first menu there and force it to use WCDMA (incase the rom toggles are misbehaving)

yes I tried that.. I have changed ROMs, changed modems... I am running out of options... !!! tried forcing wcdma mode too.. .
I think problem lies with hspa+ and HSDPA.... I
I will flash a stock ROM then we will see what happens... !!!

no apns are right as i can connect to edge network just fine in evry rom.
Guys I have a strange problem my razr wont connect to any of the data 2g or 3g only on custom roms like 4.4 Kitkat,Carbon rom etc . I flashed them on slot 1,2 even on stock slot but no luck.. I tried to change Baseband But It always failed So guys help me.....

I fixed the problem partially..
I fixed the network mess It was bad radio which did this all I flashed ICS radio and now network works fine in all roms (Stock and Custom) BuT bo mobile data on any of them

2g/3g for many of the newer roms has been a problem with both the XT910 and XT912. I know with cyanogenmod 10.2 I'm still not able to connect to 2g/3g although LTE does work. With the newest release of cyanogenmod 11 though I do get 3g and LTE, although some people have been reporting they are not. Seems it's headed in the right direction. Give the latest CM11 build a shot and see if it works for you.

Yup my SIM is in contract and working on other phones I can make and receive calls but not on razr I get NO SERVICE message
Open the phone (or dialer, whatever you would like to call it) and Dial *#*#4636#*#* and go to Phone Information and tell us what the preferred network is.

What ROM did you get LTE Only on?
I learned that sometimes ROMs can mess up NV's. The only way of fixing this is to wipe everything and start fresh. And when you are flashing you cannot downgrade, it will fail every time. You may already know what I am telling you but just in case.
And what carrier are you with?

In my case in testing I am on GSM auto prl. I tried Flashing JB stock moto BUT it also did not solved my problem. I have erased my cid and checked with different region stock also but no progress

I m having same mobile phone xt910 with idea sim ... already pissed with moto and google for not releasing JB in entire asia &

well by 1st option works it given me range ... doesn't show no service or emergency calls but 2nd & 3rd option gives me same problem " NO SERVICE " or " EMERGENCY CALL "

I dont think its the problem of sim jack. Just go to dialer then *#*#4636*#*# then to phone info then hit menu key select radio band & choose option to automatic.. Hope this helps you.. I had same issue when I chose US BAND

Hi. I have XT910 for more than two years. After brought the phone from Australia to Hong Kong (use Hong Kong SIM card) and back to Australia (replace SIM card with Aus one), I have the same problem as you. Phone can make voice call, but no mobile data connection (3G, 2G).
Want to know if your problem is fixed or not?

Hi. Can you tell me how to fix the issue: no mobile data, and phone saying "Syncing SIM card contacts"? Thanks.
So by a stupid mistake I have selected in *#*#4636#*#* the Radio Band to USA. The signal suddenly dropped and it stopped working at all, the nework does not connect except in 4G and only for data. Calls and text are not working, only 4G data works fine. This is on the sim1 though. On sim2 all is ok (except that with the X829 ROM, on sim2 I have no data, and on sim1 I have no calls )) ). I was on sim1 when I've changed the Radio Band, so I guess that only this one got affected since sim2 is working properly.
Is there any Radio Band files that I can restore? Or some app that can restore the settings of the modem?
Any help is highly appreciated.
PS: Reinstalling the ROM (clean or dirty) doesn't help. Factory resetting also doesn't help. I would downgrade to 014s but I'm afraid not to end up with a brick.

So by a stupid mistake I have selected in *#*#4636#*#* the Radio Band to USA. The signal suddenly dropped and it stopped working at all, the nework does not connect except in 4G and only for data. Calls and text are not working, only 4G data works fine. This is on the sim1 though. On sim2 all is ok (except that with the X829 ROM, on sim2 I have no data, and on sim1 I have no calls )) ). I was on sim1 when I've changed the Radio Band, so I guess that only this one got affected since sim2 is working properly.
Is there any Radio Band files that I can restore? Or some app that can restore the settings of the modem?
Any help is highly appreciated.
PS: Reinstalling the ROM (clean or dirty) doesn't help. Factory resetting also doesn't help. I would downgrade to 014s but I'm afraid not to end up with a brick.

If i were you. I would change the rom from china to indian rom. It would help you. The radio band of chinese rom and the indian rom is different. It would replace the radio band of chinese rom and if it doesn't work. Then return to the chinese rom
I'm 100% sure it would help you.

I did the same thing by my mistake.And my le max 2 also became not able to connect internet. In my case, it can't connect both 4G and 3G .
But I fixed it. But I don't know that it get back to the original completely.
I'm japanese.And I'm sorry for that my English skil is very poor.
My current rom is Le2_X820-MAX_ROW-5.8.015S_V29_CUOCO92.
I used DFS CDMA TOOL and checked the items on the "Band Preferred" same as "RF BC Config".
1. download HTC Diag Driver. You have to customize .inf file later.
2. conect device to your windows pc and choose MTP and USB Debugging.
3. enter the follows command.
"adb shell"
"su"
"setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb"
When you enter this command, your device change over diag mode.
4. diag driver install.
You have to find hardwawer ID from device manager.
And replace the hardware ID in .inf file.
5. If you install diag driver correctly, you will be able to use DFS CDMA TOOL.
sorry, I can't explain any more..English is difficult...
I bought my phone from china and I'm in US, and it works perfect on stock with LTE enabled for AT&T by default. Might I ask why did you change it to US band and it stopped working? It would still work right?

Many thanks for the advice but it didn't help. I had installed the indian rom and then to the chinese without any change in the behavior of the modem. I'll try the chatmonchy's advice to see if there will be any improvement.

Actually I'm in Europe and looks like we use slightly different bands (??). I get 4G data but without calls. To other networks like 2G and 3G it connects sometimes but it's for few seconds only. I even don't remember what made me change the bands to USA, I guess I was curios what settings those were. The options are "USA band" and "Band 6", neither one is working well for my device. And strangely though, there is no other option to go back like "Auto" or something. It seems that I'm not the only one that did it. After a google search, it turned out that a lot of people had the same issue. For some, the factory reset helped, for others was flashing via TWRP the radio bands again.
I had solved the issue and I will post a guide later on for those who want to unlock additional bands or did the same mistake as I did.

Does not help. If I go to servise menu (dial *#*#4636#*#*) , I see Radio turned OFF and I can´t change it. How to solve this ?

I live in India. I bought Oppo F3 Plus (CPH1613) 4Gb Ram, 64GB Storage, Qualcomm MSM8976 Pro Snapdragon 653 a year ago and was working too much fine. I was wondering about Qualcomm mobile secret codes and found this *#*#4636#*#* . I dialed this and accidentally changed radio band to USA band and suddnly on instant my mobile didn't get any network signal. From then, I went for Oppo care, and mobile repairing shops and self tried and tested for lots of time; but everyone unable to bring phone to normal. I reset my mobile, flashed stock rom for countless times, wiped all data but nothing helped me out. Finally i rooted my oppo f3 plus and tried to boot in fastboot mode; but Oppo removed bootloader and fastboot mode from 2016 (as posted in XDA). I got a little link about resetting USA band to automate and is erasing modemst1 and modemst2. But again it have to be performed from fastboot.
Help me out for my mobile.
You can flash a modem file, it will reset it as well. Changing the ROM won't update the modem configuration. Try to search modem files and flash them via TWRP.

after I lost on my xperia m4 aqua signal and couldn't connect to any network I went to *#*#4696#*#* and checked if radio is on and modified networks to GSM/CDMA auto (PRL), I got it back for some time, but after that it stopped receiving any signal again. While searching around in menus I selected USA Band (the only one in menu, thought it is OK to click it, as there wasn't even back button -.- ), it still didn't work. I read on forum some users lost reception after changing band. After which I proceeded by flashing original firmware (I relocked bootloader and used Sony PC Companion), which didn't solve my problem. The next step I choose was to flash modem.sin using flashtool from firmware downloaded through xperifirm (for my country, my mobile and same operator), but I still cant connect to any networks and when I try to find any, even tho my IMEI is correct, but I receive message: "Error while searching for networks". I am now completely lost as to what to do next, so I created this thread in hopes of getting assistance solving this problem.

My sim card is working in other phones, but in this phone doesn't work any sim. 1st I lost LTE signal only and could use 3G, 2 days ago only EDGE was working, but now I can't get any signal. I wasn't doing any modifications to system in-between. Does it mean my antenna is probably dead?
