USB Dac in Car Tablet strange problem - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an Android Tablet with Android 6.0 installed in my car. My car has a aux input in the factory stereo so I've connected the USB dac (pictured in the attachment) in the DC power USB hub that connects to the tablet using the OTG cable. I further split the output of the dac to seperate the Mic and Audio. Every time the tablet wakes up from sleep the DAC is detected but there is no sound i get a buzzing like sound. If i disconnect the USB completely and plug it back in then it works perfectly. I left it unplugged and plugged it in after the tablet wakes up then it works fine. But for some reason if it's plugged in to the USB before the tablet wakes up then it gives that problem. Does anyone know what the problem can be? I forgot to mention it's connect via a short USB extension. One thing I can possibly do as a work-around is cut the power to the USB extension and have some kind of delay on it so it doesn't start up straight away when tablet wakes up.
Also, I have a high gain car mic connected to the mic side of the splitter but the mic just doesn't seem to work although the mic works when i try the DAC and same setup on my Samsung S20+.
Any help and suggestions would be great. Thanks

3.5mm jack to aux + USB charger issue

I've got a USB charging cradle in my car which works fine.
I use a 3.5mm cable to connect my mp3 player to the car stereo which works fine.
I tried playing music from my HD to the stereo whilst charging and I get awful white noise and a constant pinging noise. If I take the phone off the charger it works fine. I can't find anything in the wiki or forums and I've seen some people on other forums with the same problem.
Anyone know what is wrong with this setup or I need a different spec cable (I guess its a standard stereo 3.5mm cable, so 3 contacts and I think the HTC one has 4 coz of the mic, but it works fine when I stop charging it. I guess it could also be a problem with the pins on the USB charger, but I thought the HD didn't have the extUSB connection.
I'm off to the USA on Sunday with a hire car so it would be really handy to be able to charge and play music!

[Q] Connecting my Phone to car stereo via a usb hookup, not working any ideas?

I had an ipod connected to my stereo through a cord that is run into the back of my glove box. The end is a USB connection so i figured my phone should work fine. When i plug it in it recognizes it and starts to charge my phone but on my deck it says no audio and i cant play any of my music. If anybody has some suggestions im all ears, Thanks!
The Motorola Vehicle Dock comes with a USB charging cable that has an inline 3.5mm jack out. You may need this or something similar to get audio out to your car speakers via USB.
Note: If you buy the Moto dock, do not buy it from AT&T. They remove the charger and package it separately forcing you to spend more money. Buy the Motorola packaged version instead.
Also, try changing the storage modes when connected. I believe Mass Storage is the correct setting, but could be wrong.
i dont think it will work. see those types or systems are formatted to work with ipod or a direct usb dongle.
i have the some type of thing in my svu but i have both usb and aux i just use the aux.
I connected Atrix to my Pioneer deck and it automatically recognized it as usb storage and played my songs as expected. With the car dock and cable it won't play music over usb, just through the 3.5mm jack.
Did you enable usb storage mode?

That's how I do it when travelling and renting cars. Works fine with 3.5mm jack if the head unit in the vehicle has an aux input.

I believe I already asked this!
I have the same problem with my pioneer deck. Instead of connecting USB for music ill just use Bluetooth from my phone to my deck and play music.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I'm having the same issue with my Atrix + a Pionner sound system on my car. The phone keeps on disconnecting and reconecting. No, I don't use the iPod/phone dock, but just the USB connection. The Atrix won't even charge because it's always enabling/disabling the USB.

USB speaker support

I'm wondering whether a set of USB speakers that I've got, Altec Lansing iML 247 can be made to work with the TF201. When I plus them into the keyboard dock the light on the speakers comes on but sound comes via the built-in speakers.

I doubt they will work. I think they only work work on a PC, unless it could be a power related issue?
likely powee related. i have usb speakers that worked. the dock powered them up. you might have some higher powered speakers requiring more power than what dock can dish out. try plugging dock up to Ac adapter then try usb speakers. they likely will work then since dock is being powered by Ac adapter.
If the speakers do not have a seperate cable for the headphone socket, then my understanding is they will not work as ICS does not have the drivers for USB to audio. When Jelly Bean comes it is supposed to heve the necessary drivers for USB to audio. and therefore your setup should work.
I have tried the speakers on my Prime in Jelly Bean (4.2.1). The speakers work but there is no way to control the volume. Any ideas on a way to do this?

Google now popping up upon plugged in headset

Nearly every time I plug in my headphones (there's no mic on them), this thing pops up. It was a "meh" at first, but now it's plain annoying. Does anyone know how to stop this screen from popping up?
I had this problem on the LG G3 and G4 -- Google Now or Voice Control pops up intermittently when using headphones or an audio cable. Purchase a set of headphones with a mic. I also had to buy an audio cable / mic for my car. This solved the problem. Cheers.
I'm having same problem when plug it to my car using aux cable. But never has this issue when plug it to my bose via aux.. Probably because my bose aux cable has mic?
Same thing happens for me.
It acts like there is some static when the cable plugs in as I can get the same effect if I spin the plug and get static.
Settings --> Smart Settings --> Accessory --> "When earphones plugged in".....
I hope this helps.
I have that setting turned off and I still see where google now pops up when I plug/static with my headphones.
Hello, I have the same problem with Google Now opening everytime I plug in my earphones. Is there anyway to stop this happening? I have Smart Settings turned off. Thanks.
Try touching the end to something metal to ground it. Worked for me.
It seems it has something to do with cheap aux cable? My aux cable in my car is pretty cheap one, the other one that i use with bose soundlink, bought in Japan.

[Solved] HiFi Dac normal audio device

Hey guys,
I would like to know, how I get rid of the "normal audio device" mode. I had connect Teufel Massive reloaded and the included headphones but it shows in the HIFI settings only "normal...".
Best,
Kalle
I believe those headphones have a removable cable, correct? If so, try unplugging the cable from the headphones, plugging just the cable into the phone, and only then plugging the cable into the headphones. This should trick the phone into "Aux" mode, which functions in the same way as high impedance mode.
For low impedance headphones without removable cable (or if the above doesn't work with your cable), buying a headphone jack extender like this works:
http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZK43S4Q?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
Same procedure, plug in the jack extender without your headphones connected, then attach your headphones. Should display aux mode indication in the settings
Normally the amp only kicks on for full power with headphones that have an impedance of 50+ ohms, but the above trick should work. I've also read about another workaround involving making a phone call (like to your voicemail) then plugging in your headphones, but I could never get it to work, so the above method seems more reliable
unbeliveable - this works. Danks!
