I have used share it to transfer files and apk from phone to laptop etc. I want to know where do apps installed via google playstore get stored. Meaning the apk file of the app installed , where can it be found.
I have many times seen the option of transferring apk from phone to laptop when I use share it
on the phone.
So my curiosity is where are these apk's downloaded when I have installed an app from playstore .
/data/user/...
APK: /data/app/
Data: /data/data/

where can i find downloaded apps from android market..after i i install it but unsuccessful i have to download again from market again...anyone know the apps download to which folder of phone memory?
I think: /data/app and /data/data.
Is there a way to have, say, multiple Gallery.apk, all being individual applications that can be opened? But not default apks, an apk that I downloaded from the Playstore.
On that note, where can I find my apks that I downloaded from the Playstore?

Play Store standards don't allow two packages having same names, but yes.. there's a possibility that they can clash with apps installed from other sources (like pre-installed apps, manually installed apps etc). But, its worth remembering that APKs downloaded from Play Store aren't launch-able. They can only be used to install apps. So, there's no use of such things.
You can find APKs downloaded from Play Store at /data/app. You can fetch them using Backup feature of Astro File Manager (there are many other apps for this job). You can use ROM Toolbox Pro, too. It can backup up APK instantly after an app is installed.
Hi there, I would like to know if it is possible to catch/save APK's before they install. (Not relating to Play Store)
For example, when I download an app off the Amazon Appstore, it says "downloading" before opening a prompt for me to scan the file before pening the apk. Does anyone know where the apps apk's are downloaded too when downloaded from these alternative markets, or where get stored before they get opened?
Maybe their is an app that appears in the prompt before the install, which allows me to save the apk?
Many Thanks
Hi,
I am using htc explorer a310 and due to limited space i am unable to download whatsapp by upgrading play store and therefore i have tried to directly download the apk file to my phone from several websites including the whatsapp website but it didn't work. Every time i install an .apk file it either says "Application not installed" or it gets installed and when i open the app it says the version is old and an upgrade is required which is also not practicable as it would require an upgraded play store.
Please help me with a latest working apk file for htc explorer a310.
Thanks

Try apkmirror.com
If you still get the "Application not installed" message, backup your Whatsapp data by copying the Whatsapp folder (can be found on your internal storage) to either your SD card or your PC, then uninstall Whatsapp. Afterwards, install the latest version either from Play Store or apkmirror and copy the Whatsapp folder back to your internal storage. Afterwards, start Whatsapp. That's it.
Hello,
I am trying to install a lite mod of the apps Gmail and Google. I got an apk from a trusted site (but I cannot link because the site contains copyrighted content) but when I tried to install as an apk I got a problem parsing error. I am rooted on Android 5.0.1 if that helps. I then tried to make the preinstalled Gmail and Google system apps (the Google one was under the codename velvet folder) convert to user apps, but the apps corrupted. Then, after that failed, I tried to place the apks with correct permissions in the system/priv-app folder but they both did not appear on reboot.
Please help thanks!
