everything is working for me except the video recorder and some video play back is choppy. i was surprised by how good its working for me. Battery life seems to be good to.

Ignorance is bliss .
ICS Android 4 has not been released by Samsung .
XDA have a leaked ICS v KP8 Beat test rom not everything works that's why its not released .
You can install or one of the custom roms built around this . But its not for noobs and will of course void your warranty .
jje
I installed it 1 time and i was not happy whit it so i got back to official stuff xD
I found the latest CM9 build from Codeworkx to be stable enough as a daily use ROM. But I prefer TouchWiz to vanilla, so I switched back. It was very smooth though.
Bwahahaaaahahahahahaha Gold.

Why would you want to go with 4.0 when 5.0 leaked already?! Find it in all its glory here.
buddy do not listen to any of the above posts...here is a link to what you need. it is stable and smooth..trust me its my new daily driver. Click here buddy it is the latest build of ICS Link for latest ICS build
You are all gits. Give him a break, it's a reasonable question due to all the different versions flying round.
Try this thread.
Rather than being smartasses, why not give the guy an actual answer? If you think that said 'noobs' will be re educated by repeatedly posting that video, you're delusional. Either that or you genuinely think the same joke is funny after the 3rd time in a row, in which case, you're still delusional.
With this kind of attitude rife, nobody will learn to use the forum correctly or get the answers they want, creating yet more noobs.
To answer OPs question - no, there is no official ICS builds
from samsung yet. You're welcome to try a leaked build or Cyanogenmod 9, which I personally find stable enough for daily use. If you want real stability with every feature functional, however, you're going to have to wait to the official version from Samsung.
Next time, to avoid this immature nonsense, do a quick search and browse the development forum.

Some good points, however a bit of mickey taking should be expected
I am running the CM9 ICS ROM and it is very good even at this early stage. Bits like audio out through the Sammy car dock aren't working (as you'd expect) and the video issues are annoying but not show stoppers IMO so I'm using this as my daily driver for now and will see what the battery life is like.
The only real way is to do a backup and try it out for yourself.

I'll tell you why.
More and more people are coming to these forums, and disregard everything that's posted. They jump in, create a thread, ask the same questions, and expect us to do the work for them.
If this specific user took the 15 minutes to read, he would quickly understand that there are two versions of ICS for the GS2 - leaked builds from Samsung, and CM9. He would also quickly understand that none of these are "full working ROMs".
However, seeing as he couldn't bother himself for 15 minutes to at least try and figure things out on his own, I definitely can't be bothered to write a valid response and to encourage that kind of behavior.
The video basically says "search before you post". He should search before he posts. It isn't funny, it isn't a joke, its actually pretty sad the video had to be created in the first place. But it was created, and it does exist, and so I'll use it whenever its appropriate.
XDA is not anybody's personal tech support - this is not a 1-800 number to dial if you're having problems or questions regarding your device. It is, though, an enormous hub of information that is readily available to anyone who's willing to put in the tiny bit of effort required to properly use it.
Soulicro well said put it in a nutshell .
Let Rolling star answer this same question 400 times in a month dont mind ten times a day .

Fingerprint sensor and laser auto focus , can you please add those?
Yes thats only stopping me from flashing roms
I ask this with respect, but are you even the original developer of this ROM? Or the other 3 ROMs that you've posted here? It feels like you might have just copied and pasted OPs, and then provided people with an untested version you just compiled and uploaded.

I'm not the 'original' developer of this ROM.I build ROMs and release them on XDA after the testers test it and report to me.So technically there's no way that my ROMs won't boot. You can look at my other ROMs that I've posted in XDA and take the feedback from the users that are using it.

Is there a reason why your "testers" are consistently missing the fact that things like the fingerprint sensor aren't working, and that you don't seem to have a "Known Issues" list on any of the four ROM threads that you created within 2 hours?

I'm not "insisting so much". There is a standard of development that most of XDA's developers abide by. If you're really going to simultaneously maintain 4 different ROMs at once, the least you can do is give your users a bit more information than that which you blindly copy from another thread's OP, especially if you have no intention of running any of them yourself (I assume you at least have the device itself, but now, I'm not so sure)
I looked through your started threads, it seems you have a habit of compiling a bunch of different ROMs and putting them up with little to no testing whatsoever. I'm not sure if you thought no one would notice that the only 4 ROM threads in this section are all from you and they were all posted within an hour or two.
Good luck with your "development". I don't think I need to add anything else to this thread.

Nevermind,I updated the first post with the bug list so the users can take a look at the bugs in the original CM12.1 thread.
I agree to what @LiquidSolstice said. It's not a big deal to build a bunch of ROMs and post them over the development forum.Maintaining them are difficult. It would've been much better if you maintain a single ROM and work with it.Now you have like 3-4 WIP ROMs without proper testing and it seems like you doesn't own the device
Tapped from my ①+②=❸
Sorry if I'm being a douchebag
I maintain all of my ROMs thoroughly.I still say, maintaining is NOT an issue for me.I give out the ROMs to the testers, they test the ROM and report me back with their issues/bugs (if any).I've been building ROMs since 5 months and I like sharing my work with all the people.Yeah, sure thing, anyone can take a look at the ROM building guides out there and make builds and post here, just like me.I've been working on other development projects too (other than building ROMs) but they're not ready yet.You see, interacting with other developers and tech people increases your morale and confidence to do pull yourself deep into the core of the stuff you're working on.For some other guys,I'm just a douchebag who got a good PC with some decent specs and builds all day.Yeah, hell yeah I'm a noob with little development skills, but I'm learning stuff day by day, incorporating and applying that knowledge into my development.I try to maintain all my projects so the users don't get disappointed.I don't have enough money to buy a server so I got a decent PC and start building on it.My only motive is to spread my projects all across the XDA,sharing stuff with people makes me happy. It's just a start,I'm reaching out to the most valuable and efficient developers here in XDA so that I can gain more knowledge.Ofcourse,I am not the greatest dev here but I want to become like one of them.Even though I might be the sh*ttiest maintainer in this whole XDA,but I try to maintain all of my ROMs so that the users don't get disappointed.
@aniket.lamba In other forums, users may ask you to build multiple ROMs and maintain them. But IMO the best way to be a good dev is to properly maintain one good ROM for the community, giving regular updates and interacting with the users. As you know the OPT dev forum will be as popular as the OPO or Nexus ones, the best way to satisfy users is to concentrate on one good ROM and provide your valuable support for it.This is my personal opinion!
Tapped from my ①+②=❸
I respect your opinion but I'd still consider it my way, expanding my base and providing more support of ROMs to the community.I just wanna make sure that nobody makes a buzz about me maintaining multiple ROMs while I build on my little machine.

Thanks for being supportive to everyone who used my ROMs.Appreciate it!

So I'll just pick one at random then? Thanks for the help...
There is a thread with links to all the stock firmware releases. But downgrading has been debated if its even possible. The procedure is detailed in a couple different posts from what I've read. I doubt you will be able to run a kk ROM with the a LL bootloader and modem.
Sent from my SM-G900T
There are still Cyanogenmod 11 (KitKat) builds in the unified development section, that's probably your best bet. As mgp53 pointed out it's difficult if not downright impossible to downgrade android versions using the official firmware, if you're already on 5.1.1

Thanks so much! I am pouring through it now... might take a bit since I don't see a column for version number http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development#romList but I'll just sort by latest release and click on every single link manually till I see a 4.x that isn't a buggy PoS. I was originally hoping to steer clear of AOSP/CM because I heard the battery life isn't as good as TW or "superslim" style stripped-down stock fws, but at this point I will take what I can get. I've had terrible luck getting any kind of answers across multiple subforums on this site. Your post was the most useful by far. Thanks again.
Incoming rant...
It really is a shame that 1) the download links on the 600+ Infinity ROM thread are all dead, 2) SlimROM doesn't seem to exist in any meanful/useable state for the s5 even though they have tons of devices including the s3/s4, 3) Sick n Twi5ted for 4.x is a buggy PoS, 4) Liquidsmooth has major missing features such as no camera (You thought releasing a ROM on a 16megapixel flagship device with no camera function was OK enough to start asking for donations and then never got around to adding support for the camera? At least have the decency to put a list of major bugs and missing features in the OP. It is debateably fraudulent to put a donate button where the 'Major Issues' section should be and then not even have a disclaimer.
Users of this site really ought not to have to pour through 60-600 pages to find out major flaws on a ROM. In all the dozens of threads I've sifted through over the past week there was exactly ONE who was up front and honest including a section devoted to missing features/major bugs.
/end_rant
On the bright side, all this madness had led me to seriously consider developing my own ROM and that would probably be a good thing for me in general to learn anyway. Or alternatively I could create a website devoted to archiving older ROMs since there seems to be quite a few that have gone missing here. (think oldversion.com circa 2005)
Whatever I decide to contribute, there certainly is room for a lot of it here.
android6 greatly improved idle battery life, plus you can underclock the cpu if you have root
Please pay a bit more attention to the reason why most of us bought this phone: https://www.androidauthority.com/motorola-moto-z3-play-review-885207/
Must I stress this? I'm sure I am not the only one getting annoyed by the lack of Moto Mod support in most current Custom Roms.
(Pixel Experience and Lineage 15.1 implementing it the best when it comes to 8.1)
There is even an entire sub redit complaining about this...
I am no developer myself, but here it is laid out on how to make a ROM that supports most Moto Mods, this seemed a bit buried and hard to find, but seems extremely useful as if someone has already done the nitty gritty work:
There is a detailed Mod Porting tutorial at the bottom of this thread:
And I don't know if this is possible but it would also be great to have something like a flashable zip or base that supported Moto Mods for treble or/GSI ROMS in the future.
If anyone can get a Pie rom working with MODS soon enough, you'll beat Motorola to it. Think about that... you could work for them, because sadly it's something they haven't accomplished yet lol.
This should be in MOTO Z2 PLAY GUIDES, NEWS, & DISCUSSION.
Try looking, it has been explained before why we only have battery mod support. Besides, development is dead, there are no Devs now.

I looked and I found that it is possible to have more than the battery mod support, hence this post. The ROM I am on now, lineage 15.1 (Oreo 8.1 with November security patch)> works with my projector mode also.
Past custom Roms have also supported more than the battery mod.
I hope I don't have to explain the concept of looking to you, there are no Devs currently, development is not dead, they are waiting for/working on Pie. That you would know if you have been looking and reading the forums and posts by Devs.

For your information, one of the old Devs here said only battery mod for z2 play because the other mods caused too many problems on custom ROMs. Also, nobody is working on pie on xda for z2p. The Devs that where here all left, they are not waiting, they moved on.

Even tho I have proof of the projector mod working very stable on my phone on lineage 15.1 January security update???? And other mods in the link I supplied in the post??? Cool story...
The whole point of this post was to help devs like that accomplish it. I am guessing this is one reason why many give up...You have no idea how incorrect you are obviously, I have read 2 devs for these mod compatible ROMS state they were waiting for Pie. Because 8.1 is sufficiently accomplished now. Waiting= no current activity/posts/8.1 updates. I just technically had a dev here work on lineage 15.1 for me yesterday, compiling the new security update.
Want the link to this best ROM for the phone right now or can you LOOK for it by yourself? Thanks to me it's really not hard to find.

I was going to respond to your misunderstandings but, had to much of a giggle at your progressive edits to further attack me. Goodbye, no time for you.
Please explain this misunderstanding of mine:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2-play/development/rom-lineageos-15-1-t3731228/page42
And look where that got me. 2 stable mods, 8.1 64 bit, January security patch and even a microg version.
Again I will add another screenshot taken from the post about mod compatibility.
...
Fact: A Dev compiled a security update for lineage albus yesterday. Another made a microg variant a few weeks ago.
Fact: the link in this post is how stable mod support can be accomplished.

Hi,
I am wondering if there is a common way on this forum to express support for the development of a specific custom ROM for a phone? Is there a commonly accepted way to do this? (Came here to see if I could +1 a LineageOs thread for the Zenfone 9)

Hey mate,
I was thinking to contact developers and pay them to build lineage OS and make it official!
Or the other alternative is Learn how to build it and submit it for review on LOS website..
If you have any suggestions?
cool, no idea how to go about that, but I would be happy to contribute as well. I'm sure others would be too - I am on a forum where there are multiple threads dedicated to finding a good small deGoogled phone (community.e.foundation). There must be a place where people can put up amounts for a development like this, right? Sort of like a Kickstarter for a bit of development? I will ask on the other forum too

The problem with LineageOS is that when there is no more maintainer for a specific model the phone just goes to rubbish, no more security patch... same for the other custom rom... eOS depends on LOS repositories and even if lineage stop supporting a specific device eOS will keep updating their all supported devices... That's why I really like eOS. It doesn't matter if some features are unavailable... a phone is supposed to be used for call, text. Nowadays, everything seems to be sophisticated however it doesn't need to be... I'll start asking some recognised developers if they are willing to work on a LOS build for the zf9 for some money participation... maybe start a crowdfunding of an alternative without fraud!!

Hi bro,
Sorry got no time at the moment I ended up using a one plus 6 with eOS... I haven't started anything yet. I might need some help to organise something about crowdfunding..
Good luck and let us know if you have some ideas. Thank's
