I experience random shutdown in my LG G8X.
my phone shuts down automatically once in every 3 to 5 days regularly and still I cant find the issue.
I could find the similar thread in below reddit post.

is there any way to solve this issue? and how could I get this issue to LG support team?
Is there any chance you are using extended mode under battery settings? I experienced random reboots every now and then when using that mode.
@anmolkakkar Thanks for your response.
My Battery saver mode is always turned off and still I face this issue.
Are you facing the same issue now? Or how you got rid of this issue?
your quick response is more valuble for me.

I did not face this after I turned off the power saving mode.
It could be due to an app that might be having compatibility issue with the phone. Are you using the Indian version bought in Big Billion Days of Flipkart sale?
Additionally, try rebooting into safe mode to see if the issue still persists.

I bought this in big billion day sale.
Nothing works. Will backup and reset
So if ur phone is having random shutdowns, do one thing, record your phone when its shutting down randomly, take that video to the nearest direct lg service center in ur city, show them this video, and they will replace your mother board with an indian variant, my friend had a similar shutdowns when he was using hotspots(vietnamese variant bought during flipkart sale), took it to service center, he got it replaced with indian motherboard, as of now his fongerprint isnt working, but they told it will be fixed in a while, so for anyone with restart issues get it to service center, and get it replaced

Thanks.. I have the same issue.
In my case, i cant record them because it happens once in 2 or 3 days. Mostly while hearing audio files...
I will try approaching LG service centre.
I uninstalled Pocket casts and Firefox web browser. Now I don't face this issue for past 3 days.
I use Firefox with following addons installed: Privacy badger, ublock origin, dark reader, YouTube high definition and video background play fix.
Posted in Firefox forum and now checking whether which addon makes problem.
I also have this problem while using Chrome background (after updated in websites not playstore)so I uninstall chrome and updated in playstore now it's fine ,no problem ( when problem occurs check which app in background uninstall it then reinstall from playstore).
try to hard reset or upgrade your firmware

The problem was due to my favorite app, pocket casts. It has some compatibility issue while running in background and makes my phone restart.
Revoke any accessibility permission you may have given to an app and then check. There seems to be a bug related to it.

Hey I purchased g8x for my mom on BBD deal, she later used it in dubai 2 months nothing happened no issues at all, but only when in india it randomly goes off switch off sometimes. Did u find any fix to this issue ? It's got nothing to do with wifi hotspot, I tried resetting the device doesn't help, looks like they sold us international variant which has issue with indian bands, please help me with any solution that worked, going to service center is my last option.Since everything else runs perfectly ,expect for this random switch off without any warning I simply don't want to take it to service center.
I found some trial and error method and it gets solved for me. Just try my idea and it will be great if it works.
I really liked the phone. It was all good except this automatic random restart and many techies said it is an App compatibility issue. So I haven't trusted service center in this case.
I tried uninstalling all 3rd party apps and tried installing one after the other in every 2 days.
I use firefox with multiple addons. I'm sure it made problem and I uninstalled Firefox.
I were using a podcast apps like Pocket casts and google podcast and found that playing podcast content made issue and uninstalled them too. Now my phone works fine.
After 2 weeks of usual activity I installed Pocket casts and fortunately I never had this issue.
I haven't received any software update too after my phone purchase. Indian BBD version G8X running Android 10. hope this helps
Its the issue with Vietnamese unit bought during flipkart BBD Sale..
even i had the same issue: random shutdown every 2 - 3 days , frequent shutdown while using hotspot, and auto turn on while charging the phone when switched off.
Visited the nearest service centre and they have replaced the PCB , Battery and display(the display had a dead pixel , and its got 6 month free replacement, so i asked them to replace that too).
Now i don't face the issue anymore.
So better try to contact the nearest service centre and get it replaced in the warranty period instead of trying the software level fixes

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 Edge G925F with custom rom, i have a problem with my sensor.
I turn my auto-brightness in ON and nothing chang, it's always stay at the same level of brightness, i tested it, if it was a hardware problem with calling "*#0*#" but not, it work perfectly in that.
and for the proximity sensor, when i call someone, the screen turn automaticaly in black, same think, i tried to test hardware, it's work, when i call someone with What's App for exemple, it's work, but it's not work with phone dialer.
(Sorry for my bad english, i'm french)
Can someone help me ? I tried an other rom, same problem, other bootloader / modem, same again.
Same issue here! Don't know what the problem is. Sensor is working when being tested, but somehow system is not receiving that info. Factory reset did not help either. I am on stock everything (5.1.1).
and you have no problem with brightness in mode auto ?
Auto brightness is not working either. It is always at same output value, no matter what I do. And also navigation buttons are not lighting up anymore.
Phone is all stock. Not sure if I should try with other roms...

Oh, we have the exact same problem, I just noticed that, my softkey lighting doesn't work too.
Have you got a problem like that, you put your headset's jack into your phone, and It's not detected by your phone ? İ have that issue too, I bought a jack, dock replacement for replace this part, I will tell you what happening next.
I saw your thread, did you disassembly your s6 ? By you or other guys.
If you find any solution to this problem please report it here and I will do the same. Hope we will be able to fix it .

I just checked this, and unfortunately it's not working...not recognized by the phone . Guess it's identical problem.
I did not touch any internals...just sent this phone for repairs, but they did not fix it because they found out that someone was already open it before. Now I do not know what to do.

Yes, as I wrote in my original thread phone had a problem with faulty battery. It was refurbished phone and seller stated that it has 2 years of manufacturer warranty, but as it turned out warranty was void because someone damaged that battery before and tried to fix it with some tape.
btw. everything else was working fine before we sent the phone for service. When they returned it all these problems started. I have ordered new battery and will replace that by my own I guess because Samsung is not responding to our messages. I guess my girlfriend will have to live with these issues if we are not able to fix them...
if you think your auto brightness is not working check out this app. If that doesn't work then your sensors are faulty/defective and contact Samsung support or your authorized reseller

As we mentioned already...every sensor checking app is reporting that senors are working just fine. I removed the battery so can't try this app right now, but will definitely check as soon as I can, thanks.
Update regarding my situation: Since everything failed to fix this device or receive our money back, I decided to open the phone and check if anything else is wrong with it (besides battery) and guess what...audio jack port was completely broken. Plugging in headphones was working before it went to official repair centre, and now I know they broke it. But still I can't do anything about it because Samsung is refusing to fix it. My best bet is to replace that part together with battery and live with other issues.
Worst service I have ever experienced...
Ok so, I will receive this replacement part (jack) this week, I hope it will fix the other problems too.
I'll tell you what happen after that.

Same here! Just replaced and packed everything up few minutes ago. Working great!! Finally! I'm glad we managed to fix this one ...
Just dry up the edges. Try to blow the corners. It is just a little bit wet because the corners have little gaps that let water and dust in. I blow dried my phone and it fixed the problem. If you try to wipe screen with water and it gets inside the edges, problem comes back again
Ich have the same problem. But how can it be a hardware issue when the sensors are working in test module? I don't want to send it in :/
Mine was having this exact problem and was solved by an update I didn't know existed. Go to where you find your updates and download any available. Mine worked great again afterwards. If that doesn't work, Try clearing your cache partition.

I figure I'd post this here, since I don't know of any other forum that is even capable of delivering this kind of debugging information.
In their latest announcement they're asking us to provide more debugging data so they can properly analyze and finally fix the problem.
Their developers prefer when you send feedback via Settings-User feedback. It sends more technical data for them to help them debug.
Also they need the following information: Keyboard name + scenarios description + screen recorder videos (described below).
And for this particular problem they also require us to record the screen:
You can help us by providing more info. Here's how you do this:
1. Go to Settings > About phone and tap "MIUI version" 7 times to turn on developer options.
2. Go to Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > INPUT and turn on "Show taps Pointer location".
3. Start recording your screen with the Screen Recorder app.
4. Use the phone and wait the screen touch issue occurs.
5. Dial *#*#284#*#* to get the log.
6. Later you'll be able to find a bug report in Internal storage/MIUI/debug_log
7. Stop your screen recording.
8. Upload the screen recording and debug_log to Google Drive.
9. Send the links to us in the comments under this post.
We hope this will help us locate the issues you reported.

If it is, then sending them debug data will help them to determine this sooner. And that means we can ask for a refund sooner.
Yes but must xiaomi recogniz it's a hardware issue
There is not bug on international version, nor hardware bug.
I tried to get a refund on Flipkart but they said they will send only a replacement. Saw several threads on the MIUI forums where even the replacement unit Flipkart sent continued to have the same issue, so I refused (BTW Flipkart is censoring user reviews that mention this touch problem to keep the sales alive). That is why POCO can claim such a high 4.6 rating on the website.

Another update from the MIUI beta team: http://en.miui.com/thread-4075875-1-1.html
Recent analysis revealed that many touch issues or bugs which users experienced was related to specific regions and few regions were not affected by this.
Anyone facing touch issues can try changing their region settings to other (France, Belgium, Canada etc) after a factory reset or even via settings may solve your issues.
Please try it out and let me know in the comment section.

Yes this is exactly the problem I am facing as well. The touches are detected inaccurately, and out of order as well.
The problem is readily apparent around the 1:00 min mark in that video. It usually happens for characters that have some spacing between them on the keyboard.

Hello,
I've bought off ebay a LG V30+ H930DS 128go to replace my laggy LG G5 at a pretty good price (150€). The back cover was crack, so I replaced it with a 10€ one from aliexpress.
Unfortunately the phone randomly shutdown, like once every day or two making it horrible to use it as an alarm for work, and using it. When it happens, power button doesn't start it, I need to do the Volume - min + power button to start the phone.
Does any of you know how to fix that or where the problem is coming from ?
Battery health is good according to battery apps, already tried factory reset.
Since I change the back I can't really ask for a refund on ebay, and a bit sad of spending all of this money on a non fully working phone.
Thank you

Hey thank you for the response unfortunately nothing worked so far
Just find out that, it doesn't shutdown, it freezes, since my phone was out of my pocket, I've seen that the always on display still work, but the phone is unresponsive.
In my case, gcam ported is oftenly responsible for the device becoming unresponsive under certain situation. That and of course, too many tabs opened in browser as well as too many apps opened. Try using naptime's aggressive doze and limit few frequently used apps only, see how it works on your end. It needs a permission granted through adb though.

It won't if gcam was definitely what caused the problem. See how it goes for a couple of days and keep only few apps unoptimized in the background in battery setting. I am using aggressive doze at the moment with exception of most important apps.
Has anybody checked out their timeline on Google Maps or any other apps such as sport activity tracking like Runkeeper?
Since I started using my UK bought CPH1919 last week, it appears there are GPS points missing so routes look like a lot of long straight lines as opposed to the actual directions I took.
I'm using the 'high accuracy' setting for location & so not sure what could be causing this issue but it's a big problem for me.
Has anyone else noticed this issue or got any thoughts?
Cheers.
I also noticed this recently but i have not investigated yet. Might be power savings ? Maybe we should try with power saving off to see if it solves the problem (and then get the issue to oppo)
I've turned off Smart Power Saver so now there are no battery efficiency settings set on my phone - will see how things go.
I have queried the issue with Oppo UK on Twitter but after 2 days, they have failed to reply.....
Still no better for me after toggling with the different battery settings as outlined above, as well as a new Maps update & phone firmware update!
And still no Twitter response from Oppo.......

No response from Oppo, tried everything I could think of so took it back to the shop. They were non-the-wiser so I'm going back tomorrow to swap for another.
Fingers crossed it was just a bug in the one I had!
What version do you have? I had the green option, I'm now getting the black due to a delay in availability of the green.
Got the black version. Not sure the color is playing a part here but please do tell if the new unit is acting the same !

Yeah, I'm aware of this issue, it doesn't really happen in my City but I have had occurrences. In fact, when I was tracking my parents recently while they were shopping in town, they were showing as 200 miles away!
The problem I've been facing is there aren't enough GPS points recorded so my true route is not recorded - most annoying when I go for a run & obviously all the timings are out. My previous Huawei phone didn't have a problem & even my Nokia N95 from 2007 was better than this!
UPDATE: new phone appears to be exactly the same so far......
I there anyone else having issues with location info??!
Ok. I tweeted the issue to the main Oppo account.

Hi,
I am done dealing with LG support, I am going against them in court now. Need to know if anyone wants to join in. You won't have to do much, if LG has sold you a lemon too then let's get back at them.
Their Flipkart batch in India has had issues and they refuse to acknowledge it, hence I need the names and complaints ids of people who already faced issues like mine.
I have 3 people till now. Need as many as I can get.
My thread on reddit blew up. LG now wants to settle outside court. I have to say there are so many of us that faced issues. I have more than 50 DMs there.
Here for some reason, no one contacted me, weird.
What is the issue you are facing.
And what issue is common in batch sold by flipkart in india?
I too purchased it from flipkart but as such not faced any issue except battery drain (that too after latest update)
mobile data of my phone used to be very slow, now after updating to android 11, it isn't working at all.

Escalate to the CEO office, they are pretty fast with their responses and take things seriously IMO. The local people in their HO just don't care at all. Keep logs of every call and every message you send to them, make them aware of your intentions to sue in case they are not willing to fix the problem. Don't be unreasonable, I asked them for a replacement with a non-vietnam unit or a different comparable phone, and if they can't do either of those, then full refund. I had 8 months of logs, my phone was replaced once, and the replacement's screen was changed too, they had kept my phone for nearly 1.5-2 months. I even showed their service guy the problems I was facing and recorded him noticing the problem first hand. I made it clear to them that I was taking this to court, and told them what evidence I had against them to back up my claims. I am not sure if the reddit thread had anything to do with their response, because I sent a final message to their CEO office around the same time that thread was created, I got refund approval the next morning.

Escalate to the CEO office, they are pretty fast with their responses and take things seriously IMO. The local people in their HO just don't care at all. Keep logs of every call and every message you send to them, make them aware of your intentions to sue in case they are not willing to fix the problem. I'm late here ig, I have been facing a few issues since the beginning (over 2 years ). The proximity sensor does not work (according to self tests). The screen does not switch on automatically when there is an incoming call. The screen does not switch on or off when the phone is brought to the ear during a call. The power button almost always takes 2-3 tries for the screen to switch on. Interestingly, switching the screen off does not require so many presses. The screen also becomes weirdly unresponsive where I can do a swiping and other things, but that one particular page, for example instagram messages, will not react at all. I will have to go back to the insta homepage and again to messages to fix, while other times i'll have to restart the app. Something like this also happens in the UI's home screen, where i will not be able to click on apps to open them. In order to fix this, i will have to swipe to the other home screen and back. hen there are other annoyances of the fingerprint not reacting from the AOD and also takes a few tries to read. Also, whatsapp plays he audio in the earpiece for some weird reason.
Can I take action even now?
