Is my mi10 new or refurbished - Xiaomi Mi 10 Questions & Answers

As title states I'm trying to determine if this device is a refurb. Ivec tried several different hidden menus most of which never open but the dialer will go blank and open up recent call history. I've also tried a few launcher apps to look for the menu but never found anything (I'm not the most literate Android user).
Does anyone know if any other ways to access the information about the devices condition status.
Thanks much to all who contribute to this forum, a lot of very good data here!

WidgetLocker question

Hello,
I've seen a couple of threads regarding WL on here and also through general Google search, but I'm still not able to do what I want with this, nor to determine if it's possible.
I'm using the rooted version of the latest NC system, so I believe I have Froyo, but I'm not sure about the Android names. Anyway, I want to have a lock screen where I have access to a couple of frequently-used, non-threatening applications, and then require entry of the lock code to get general access to the normal launcher (I'm using Launcher Pro). For example, I go to a lot of foreign language conversation groups. I'd like to be able to access the off-line dictionary directly from the start up screen without entering a code, but - obviously - keep contacts, etc behind the security screen.
So ... I installed WidgetLocker and put some of those apps on the screen, but - despite having fiddled with the settings for hours - I can't get it to not ask for the security code for my apps (like offline dictionary) on the WidgetLocker screen. The ONE exception to this is Owner Info. That one app will launch from the WidgetLocker screen and display my personal info without requesting a security code. But I can't get that to work for the others where I want that (like offline dictionary, but also a radio station and some other selected apps).
Can anyone help me to either:
a) Tell me which settings I need to do this?
or
b) Let me know that this isn't possible?
Thanks much.

Cannot enable muiti-user in Andriod Lollipop on Lenovo Yoga 3 8"

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 does not come with multi-user, so I've been trying to set it up so my family can actually share the tablet without kid-adult conflicts. I'm running Android 5.1.1
As suggested in a number of forums, I've rooted the device and modified build.prop to include:
fw.show_multiuserui=1
fw.max_users=8
The two lines of code are in the build.prop file after rebooting the tablet and "pm get-max-users" in adb shell returns 8, so the two lines of code are in there. However, there is no multi-user icon either next to the settings on the lock screen or the swipe-down menu (next to settings icon, where I hoped it would be). So I cannot add or switch users.
I've tried manually adding users through the adb shell using "pm create-user [username]" with no luck...they may exist in the back-end somewhere, but as a tablet user I can't see them.
I've tried rebooting several times, removed screen lock, and eaten a bunch of chocolate but nothing seems to work.
Any help would be much appreciated!
same issue for S8-50 running 5.0.1. actually the profile section can be found in settings if search for 'profile' . from there the user can also be switched but that's about it - no ability to switch between users in lockscreen
I bought two tab3 10" 16GB for the kids for xmas, and they had a "Users" entry in the settings, but no user avatar in the quick settings.
It seemed pretty good, so I bought another of the 32 GB version for myself and my wife and that has neither. However, I was able to set up user accounts for us by searching for users in the settings menu, so it appears to be there. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow any sane way of switching users, since one has to be logged in as a user to do it... It cannot possibly be considered a good idea to do this, it has to be a bug...
I'd be very interested in a solution to this problem too.
any findings an that so far? How to "search for 'profile'" Am on tab 2 a8-50f, with mentioned changed in build.prop but no options in settings
It is actually as simple as kjekje suggests.
Open the settings tab. Instead of scrolling up and down and looking in every submenu for a "users" section like i did, just click the magnifying glass icon and search for "users". Seems like Lenovo have just hidden it from the menu.
Further broken in 6.0.1
I just upgraded the tablet to 6.0.1 yesterday, as it was pushed by the usual channels. Figured it couldn't make it any worse. It did
Now, if I search for users, I can switch to a restricted user, but I cannot switch back, because there's no option for it when I search for it in restricted mode.
So, I would still be very interested in a better solution to this problem? The only good solution is to be able to switch users when the screen is locked. Anybody found anything by further digging?
I don't know why on earth Lenovo is doing this to us. Perhaps they figure we will buy another tablet if there's no multiuser...? But it surely won't be a Lenovo, they ought to understand that.

Needing help and guidance on the best way to get smart settings.

So within the last couple days I purchase the LG v30. It's been a fantastic phone but there's one thing that I'm missing. From what I've heard and what I know so far, the smart settings option that allows you to turn on and turn off Bluetooth, WiFi etc. depending on your location and time is not available on the Verizon version of the phone. I know my way around phones, but I'm not too familiar with rooting in specific. Is there a way I can Flash another version of the v30 software onto this phone? I'd like to have full access to all of the LG settings most importantly really is the Smart settings option that I'm supposedly missing. Any experience, help, guidance would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to dive deeper into using the full capabilities of this phone if that's possible. This is my first post here by the way, thank you all for any help that you have for me!
With your settings menu set to list view, go to the Device section and Smart Settings is under there. If it's missing, let us know which version of the phone you have so we can have someone with that version look into it further. It's rather odd that it would be missing.

Strange semi-stealthy malware that hides itself

Hi all,
So here's the situation: I have a Pixel 1 with stock (read: overbloated verizon) android. Whatever, I'm lazy and I haven't gotten around to rooting it. I installed a firewall recently for giggles. I'm going through the system apps and merrily blocking verizon junkware when I come across this thing (bear with me for the complete description, as XDA's spam filters are blocking my image links)
It's a system process called 'nobody' with a version number of 10. The Netguard app also gives a number above the name (i don't know what it's supposed to mean) that for most apps seems sort of random, but for this app is 9999.
I try to find this thing in my system app manager, and it's nowhere to be found.
So I keep on keeping on, thinking 'weird, but whatever', and then I come across another app called 'root' with a version number of 10 and (maybe it's a process id?) of 0.
Also, nowhere to be found.
And here's the thing; there's a gear icon in Netguard, that for _every other app_, opens up the system app manager page for that app. For these two? Nothing.
Now, I am not super proficient in android stuffs. My questions for you smart and pretty people are these:
1. How can I go about digging around in my phone to find the files that are running this thing?
2. What's the best way to get more information on what this is? (and yeah, I tried googling 'nobody' and 'root'. It went predictably).
3. How can I prepare a report / who would I send this to? There's gotta be security researchers who could use logs pertaining to this ****.
Yeah, I know that I need to nuke & pave the device. I will. I want to try and recon a little first. So, what do you got?

My phone came with pre-installed malware, and I'm desperate. What am I supposed to do now?

Hello everyone in the XDA Developers community, how are you? I hope that very good.
I come to you because I am desperate with my phone; Since they gave it to me (yes, this phone is a gift) about 3 or 4 months ago (it is a phone from the Sky Devices brand, more specifically the Sky Devices Platinum 5.0M) I had not noticed anything strange, until a couple of weeks After checking my applications in the phone settings, I noticed a very strange app, which calls itself “App Settings”, it seemed strange to me, but I uninstalled it without further ado, but after a while I check the apps and I realize that the app reappeared without prior notice, to which my alarms go off immediately and I resort to installing the trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security for Android, and after running both a quick scan and a full scan, it detects the Trojan in question (attached screenshots below). What I proceed to do now is to eliminate the Trojan in question with the AV, to which I reassure myself a bit, knowing that the AV "neutralized" the Trojan; I'm still normal, using it, when days later, when I see the recent apps, I see the happy "App Settings" running, to which I deduce that the supposed virus survived, to which I resort to different AVs, such as Malwarebytes and ESET, both without throwing me any results. Tired, I let the matter pass and I don't give it much importance. Now we come to today: I begin to notice that the phone is draining the battery too quickly, apart from the fact that there is something that makes it not recognize the SIM (it is not the phone, because before it recognized it, apart from the fact that the SIM is new), I go to Settings to see the applications and I see that the infection has become worse: there are many more apps of its kind, such as a Flashlight call (I don't use external flashlights, I always use the one on the phone), another call " system service ”, and others that by the logo, I deduce that they come from the first one. My question comes in here: what should I do with the phone, given the evidence of infection? I need your help urgently, because if my phone continues like this, with your forgiveness, I will smash it against the wall without further ado, because this virus has me fed up.
Thank you all and I await your responses.
PS: The Sky Devices brand is from the United States, so it can't be that Chinese.
PS2: It should also be clarified that when I eliminate the virus with Kaspersky, more appear again, I attach screenshots below.
PS3: Yes, I know that this question has nothing to do with development, or ROM's or anything like that, I'm just desperate; this virus has me crazy, and I have also published my problem in the Kaspersky Community Forums, also in HTCMania , and nowhere do they answer me, and all I want is to get rid of this damn virus once and for all.
PS4: BTW, I am from Colombia, that is why in the screenshots that I attached you can see everything in Spanish.
