Instructions:
Note#1: Official nightlies have the most current vendor, radio, and bootloader img's built-in, so no need to worry about flashing those anymore.
Note#2: When using twrp it will ask if you want to install the twrp app. Make sure you tap "DO NOT INSTALL".
Note#3: Root is not included in official lineage roms. If you want root you can flash the arm64 su addon here. It will be disabled by default. You can enable it in developer options.
1. boot into twrp and select wipe, then swipe to factory reset. NOTE: If updating from a previous official rom (15.1/16.0), skip this wipe step.
2. flash rom zip.
3. flash twrp zip.
4. (optional) if you want to install gapps zip or su addon zip, in twrp main menu select reboot, then select recovery, then install those zips.
Reboot & enjoy.

correct. you no longer have to on 15.1 either (as indicated in my changelog here).
i finally figured out a way to fix the problem that google's theme app was causing that was in that overlay folder.
Let the Rom development begin!
Booted up all fine on my end. One thing I noticed is that the stock browser is missing though

Grab our recovery from the peripherals section and install it.
Through TWRP Recovery:

Reboot into system and wait until the process finishes, it could take a little bit. After the installation is done, I suggest waiting before using the phone because it usually goes into thermal throttling after installing a ROM.

Installed this rom as for what ever reason i could not go back to stock oreo as i wanted to for a change. No issues over instalation or anything but it needs kernel work as there is battery drain present. I just need to find a gcam mod that works and thats about it. Installed the nfs mod to see how the battery life will improve. 3h or less of sot is not gona cut it for me so will see what happens.

So I've managed to add Over The Air Updates support to this. You no longer have to download and flash it manually. The updater takes care of it. But (here comes the problem) for some reason the Updater doesn't show up in settings (I'm looking into it). I suggest downloading an activity launcher and creating a shortcut to the updater on to your home screen. The name of the app is 'Updater', package name is 'org.xmxrtyx.updater'. I'm also compiling a GAPPS variant for people who want inbuilt gapps. Both have different channels for OTA Updates. You can always check out my sourceforge for the zips if you wanna flash it manually.

If gesture navigation is used, I cannot install apps from the Play Store. I get "Your device is not compatible with this item.". If I set it back to the traditional 3-button navigation, then I can install apps.
PS: Uh... I don't know. Now the message does not appear and I can install the apps, even though I have installed gesture navigation... So, I am not sure why it happened.

I face this problem in the decryption screen too. Not that it bugs me much but, now that I come to think of it, this is surely a problem..and needs a fix...

Hii... Which is your current ROM ?
Btw It's magisk app issue, update to latest canary to fix safety net issue or simply use another app from play store.

Sorry but what is the lastes canary version ? What app could I use ?
I want to be able to use Gpay

Or you can flash legion and install canary magisk and pass safetynet.
U can search playstore for safety net apps.

About the kernel :
The kernel is based on A2N kernel thanks to @ace2nutzer for his amazing work.

Installation:
Boot the device into Twrp recovery .
Backup your current kernel inside Twrp
Download the flashable zip file.
Flash the zip
Install Busybox
Download Wireless_firmware module, open Magisk and install the zip as Magisk module
Install Nethunter store
Install Nethunter app & Nethunter terminal from Nethunter store
Open Nethunter app & Download the full chroot kalifs within the app and let the app setup everything. After it finishes it'll start the chroot automatically.
Update the sources with apt-get update && apt-get upgrade in the chroot using nethunter terminal
Reboot the device (optional)

Extra:
if you want to replace nethunter terminal with termux (not completely nethunter main app will still launch nethunter terminal everytime for any operation but you can access kali chroot environment from termux.
(i know nethunter terminal sucks)
Follow these steps to access the environment from termux:
Install termux from f-droid or from nethunter store
Open termux and install root repo using pkg update && pkg install root-repo tsu wget
Download the script from termux wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/name-is-cipher/boot-nethunter/main/install_boot-kali.sh
chmod +x install_boot-kali.sh && ./install_boot-kali.sh
let it set up everything.
restart termux and type boot-kali to access the nethunter chroot environment

I dont want to use google services and as far as i know, there is no degoogled one ui rom ... Is there any way to build this kernel for AOSP rom??

I'll upload the build for lineage soon.
I guess if you could release the kernel for lineage then it might also suppport all the AOSP roms that are based on lineage os ..... and if so then it would really be great

What do you mean by installing busybox?
Can you upload the G950X file here?
I had once a problem, where a .zip from MEGA caused flashing problems
I flashed a2enkernel r55 and boots fine. After I flash your kernel, device is stuck on powered by android screen. I think something is wrong with this kernel. Can u fix it?
