MIUI 12.5 xiaomi.eu ROM optimization/user experience - Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi all
Did you guys receive MIUI12.5 xiaomi.eu ROM, its seams they fixed some optimization, based on SOT what I got after first full charge, almost 6h SOT and 53% battery left. ROM seams more snappy than last MIUI12.
We will see after time how its will looks like
But for now i'm happy with MIUI12.5
Spoiler: Battery Stats

First time I see 10h SOT on MIUI with 2 days battery life Not to bad :]

If you now tell me it doesn't constantly disconnect my galaxy active 2 and doesn't put my baby monitor app into deep sleep then I really might be interested in going back to miui from blissrom (which doesn't have those issues unlike up to miui 12 but manages great battery life)

have you installed miui 12.5 beta (21.1.6_v12-11) or the latest stable miui xiaomi eu? thanks

Latest stable is 12.1.3.0 so must be beta.

I have installed the latest weekly xiaomi.eu update (21.1.6 weekly) from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi..._MINote10_MICC9Pro_21.1.6_v12-11.zip/download
Looks like Beta

You have to try yourself this ROM, probably you need to switch off MIUI Battery optimization for those apps you want to work in background, and lock them so MIUI don't kill them in background.

any update on the latest weekly developer? stable for daily usage?

I tried the 12.5 eu beta from 2 weeks ago but it was stuttering like crazy when opening apps or going back to homepage. Switched to Pixel Experience and the smoothness is way better. 12.5 was unusable for me, as most MIUI 12 releases. MIUI 11 was much faster and smoother this processor can´t handle MIUI 12 very well it seems.

Hello Rapak,
My Note 10 running a few days on latest weekly with 12.5. All works without problem and very smooth. Okay battery draining could be better but i lost only 15% against Miui 12 based on 10. I perform a clean flash.

I had the exact same experience two days ago with 12.5. I switched back to miui 12 for now.

Latest 12.5 build is much better. If you install MIUI launcher alpha latest build also it gets pretty smooth. Feels on par with how MIUI 12 ran for me.

Hi there. In the last 10 years all GSM firmware were build following DESIGN, ATRACTION ( dependency), and LOSE of PRIVACY. No one did exception. MIUI as well did the same and they sacriface the SPEED, POWER CONSUMTION, PRIVACY and FREEDOM.
As ICT engineer I observe that they do the best to hide all the negative points and they succes in few once but MIUI 12.5 is so bad for me. I lose almost all my FREEDOM trying to optimise this MIUI based on Android 11. I am very disapointed regardnes the SPEED, PRIVACY an BATTERY LIFE. The biggest issue on MIUI is the SECURITY app the doesn't allow you do any step to try protect your PRIVACY and to OPTIMISE your PHONE. They tell us the is part of Android OS, but is a BIG LIE. The SECURITY is sted of protecting you, is protecting MIUI against USERS.
SECURITY is the biggest SPYWERE on your phone and USERS have NO OTION to DISABLE or even to put it on STANDBY.
They succes to blind your mind with DESIGN and some futures that in sort time will be lees important for any customer. I want to get the freedom back and to be able to chose what is running on my phone. I payed for the phone, is my PRIVACY and should be my freedon to chose what and when I want to share something with XIAOMI.
In few words I am totaly disapointed over the last MUIU 12.5 stable version.

for p500 miui is based on cm7!
Cm7 is based on Android!
Android is based on Linux!
And Linux is based on UNIX!
I haven't forgot that!
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda app-developers app
CM7, period. Performance-wise, the difference is negligible. When it comes to customization, however, the base CM far outstrips MIUI. You can make CM look like stock Android or like MIUI, like an iPhone or even WP7. Or get a launcher like Sslauncher and you can make it look like no other smartphone out there. With MIUI, you're pretty much stuck with MIUI looks, which is great if you're a MIUI fan, but can get pretty restricting otherwise. Oh, sure, you can customize it so that it looks completely different, but that's a bit more work and when you're done, it's more or less no longer MIUI.

MIUI doesn't look beautiful on P500 resolution. That's why they don't support mdpi devices officially.

& it is far more customizable then cm7 in all respects
So which are the actual differences?
Normally people will preffer what they have on their phones and stand by that, its obvious, but what differences one another?
> MIUI is all about looks and ui customization, while cm7 is also for customization thats why it had the tmobile theme engine on it. so difference would only be in User interface.. if you said MIUI is fast and smooth then so as cm7..

It's more or less really just the user interface, and the few MIUI-specific apps. Since MIUI on the P500 uses CM as a base, any performance gains one has over the other is really dependent on any tweaks or optimization a particular ROM has. Whether someone chooses MIUI or CM is just a matter of preference -- there's no such thing as a "better" ROM.
Edit: Ninja'd by neko.
I use gsnap by neko and it's the best for me, I tried MIUI and it looked much better than others but MIUI lacked smoothness due to it's framework..

Not due to its framework, due to the fact that we dont have the source to build from. You have a binary ports here, that is the HUGE difference between the CM7 and the miui roms. Even though it is based on our CM7 which is built from source, we do not have the source for the framework and other libs (which are miuicentric so to speak) to really mess around with and make fit better on our devices. By fit i dont mean mdpi though. I have flashed almost every miui rom here and always end up back on CM9 because of the new features available in ICS. I find that although the work these guys are doing are incredibly impressive, these binary apps sometimes clash with our base rom, superuser being one of the culprits. If our devs did have the code, lots of the bugs and fc's we experience would be sorted out quick enough to build a very able port.
Miui is more than just a UI paradigm, the lockscreen is amazing, but laggy. The music apps far outstrips the standard player in every respect. The black/white list functions available in the miui securtity suite is awesome. The launcher sucks ass though when you compare it other launchers. I take ages creating folders so I have only ONE homescreen because lets face it, memory is an issue on our roms. So when it comes down to it, miui is more than just a UI change over CM7 or even CM9.
For those who scream customization, most CM7 settings are still available in these miui roms. It all boils down to user preference, I grab every possible miui app that will work on my rom but stick to cyanogenmod for the basic rom.

Daily driver for oneplus 2 [DISCUSSIONS]

To avoid messing up development threads with posts like "What is your current daily driver rom for oneplus 2? What's the most stable rom for oneplus 2? Which rom gives you best battery life on your oneplus 2? etc..." I create this thread so you guys can talk about your current daily driver rom for this phone. Why you choose it? What is your experience with it? How is battery life, stability, etc..
Let constructive discussions begin!

The smoothest and fastest rom I've ever used on my phone so far! It's quite stable as well. And it's Nougat! I love halogenOs 7 !:good:
Why do you reserve an post in an discussion thread? lol
at the moment I use DU with Bensschold's kernel. Imo, its performance is lower than slim6 and it has some freezes/crashes. I'm not planning on changing until xposed gets released for nougat. I recommend slim6 rom with boeffla or bensschold's kernel. Excelent performance, even with viper4android and screen off. (I get a lot of stutters on DU)
CM14 by @Seraph08 and Benschhold kernel give me best SOT and battery. ( stock kernel too)

No tweaks
All sync on

Although, it did take over 2 weeks to get used to the bottom swipe notification bar.....

After update to MIUI 9 7.8.28, i got 14-15 hrs SOT with lots modification. You can search on XDA developers forum (Extreme Battery Life thread). You can try some of my way :
1. Gain root acces (unlock bootloader, mi unlock, flash TWRP, etc)
2. Flash 69TweakOne.zip dan 69TweakTwo.zip in TWRP (you can find in XDAdevelopers)
3. Delete chinese apps, and some bloatware you don't use
4. Install L Speed and Restore Blueblood v.2.2 fixed settings (you can find in XDAdevelopers)
5. Flash Govtuner in TWRP and install Terminal Emulator (you can find in XDAdevelopers)
6. Install Xposed Installer, flash Xposed framework according to your chipset in TWRP, install Greenify, and Amplify (you can find in XDAdevelopers).
I'm quite satisfied for now, but XDA developers ask me to install Powernap and Appopsxposed for maximum SOT, maybe later !
I don't see SOT screenshot, only 12h 47 min USAGE time. Do you know what is SOT?
How about this ?

Multitasking/RAM

You're busy and don't have time to wait, which is why you need to stop reading this thread and get back to organizing your Pogs. Rate this thread to express how the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 performs when multitasking. A higher rating indicates that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 keeps many apps in memory so that they don't need to reload, and that when moving between apps, transitions are smooth and performance is excellent.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Very very poor ram management
TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE IN THE IDEA OF BUYING THIS 3GB and 4GB MOBILE VARIANTS
I bought 3gb variant, and the multitasking - ram management simply sucks. Yes because the first 2 to 3 apps in the recent apps list were also refreshing while swapping between. This is worse. Its been 2 weeks and I am thinking to sell this. Bought 3gb for the time being until oneplus 6 release. But because this is much worse that I could not even bear this weak ram management till oneplus 6 release

Before selling the device, try the following setting, 1st tap on the build several times to reveal the developer option, then head to the developer option scroll all the way down and turn off memory optimization and miui optimization. That way u should have better multitasking capability
I paid a little more for a 4GB version and really ability to keep many apps in background is good.
How is indicated above MIUI optimization is a task killer to allows user to use faster some less critical apps (with minor RAM usage) and kills apps in the order from which consumption is higher.
But finally RAM optimization depends mostly in how the firmware implements this feature, some kernel correctly tweaked can help on this.
So it´s not a hardware related issue with 3GB it can runs better with some improvements in the software.
4GB/64Storage 5 star
6/64gb 5star 30 apps running without refreshing
Well, I think its the fault of miui but not the device, i am using liquid remix, and I can maintain 10+ apps in 3gb variant.

Auto brightness is issue on pie. But rebooting not on arrow.
I never used auto brightness, so don't know, but I've tried basically all of them and no rebooting or crashing problems, they are pretty stable - but really bad on battery.

Well I did yesterday I found only one really annoying bug: sim detection error randomly appear during reboot - other reboot is not a fix, it found my sim after rebooting without it, insert it after the rom started and try switch on and off airplane mode.
But everything else is forking fine, charging speed is great with stock kernel so no need of a third party one.

The idle power usage is excellent, I would say the best, but my device is 2 years old can't really say about the sot, it feels a bit of power hungry to me. Maybe because of the animations.

HavocOS 29/11/28 build is great, 5hrs SOT, no crucial bugs here. For sure usable as daily driver.

i dont think there is an issue with that. The slider moves in real time, it's different from oreo, it works on latest havoc.
Im using Havoc OS latest build since the release day as main rom and it's doing really good, battery-wise too, gaming wise aswell, better than most oreo roms.
Best roms for me are Liquid Remix and Havoc. Both has almost same features, but brightness on Havoc is more precise. Maybe on new update Liquid adjust it. Battery is better than oreo on both, but I did some changes on stock kernel. I set up big cluster to Max freq = 1305 and Min freq = 883. Little cluster to Max freq = 1401 and Min freq = 691, changed governor to ondemand and Max gpu freq to 550. I've disabled ZRAM too. Everything works very nice, no lags, no random reboots and 7-8h of SOT.
