Hi, I always google first and never post to forums, but this time I'm desperate. Bought Mi Pad 4, it was bound to some account, but had a notification "Unlocked" on lower part of the screen. Read, that it's easy to fix before buying, but it appears it's not. I tried to load a new ROM via fastboot, but now I cannot do anything, I get a "Flashing is not allowed in Lock State" message. MiFlash Unlock doesn't help. Is there anything I can do?

Have the same kind of problem right now, anyone can help???
Can you still see it in fastboot? Have you tried wiping or resetting everything?
How about trying to install a ROMl in an SD card?
Can it get into recovery?

Hey guys,
I'm not sure if I'm the only one having this problem, but I'd figure I'd shout it out here anyway.
So, to put it short, I have a rooted, NON-unlocked (i.e. still locked) Transformer Prime. I tried to update it to Jelly Bean via OTA, and it failed, okay, fine.
Thing is now though that when I reboot the tablet, it just gets stuck in a blank black screen (screen still backlit) after the Eee Pad Asus Logo on boot.
Anyone have any tips for me on how to go about getting out of this mess? :X
If you are against a wall here, you can hold volume down while turning the prime on to access the bootloader. You can do a data wipe from there which will solve your issue. You will, though, lose all your data on the device (sdcard is fine, though)
Just tried that, and I did a wipe, but I'm still faced with a black screen no matter what I do :<
Anything else I should try?

Yikes. I think you can place the update .zip on the root of your sdcard and update that way. If you are getting by the initial ASUS screen and can access the recovery menu, then it is just a matter of reapplying the update. Safe to assume you are still locked?
Hmmm... I can try that, And yes, my bootloader is locked. I was going to unlock it, but never got down to it, and now I am thinking of ways to try and force CWM or something similar into it.
I'm trying to see if I can fastboot or something

I was just reading through the failed update thread, and the procedure to go about it requires access to adb and the os, both of which aren't running [properly] for you. Putting the update on your sd card, though, won't hurt anything. Maybe we can discover something. If you let the tab sit at the black screen, do you eventually get adb access? Were you rooted before? In a perfect world you could get adb to /system rw and go at it from there... but i am sure that won't happen lol
Hmmm, I'm trying to see if I can somehow access ADB through recovery or something similar, though I'm not hitting much luck just yet.
Fastboot doesn't seem to look the same for me as it does for you guys as well I wonder if there's any way around this

I tried to access adb from every menu (less wipe) there. I had a batch script going nuts with adb devices. I remember back in the day on an old htc a recovery loop is what got adb access with raised permission, but that is probably patched.
I read that using fastboot to flash a stock blob is certainly a brick.
If you find anything, please share!
Sure thing, I'm trying to enter fastboot mode, but it's being weird, very weird.
My transformer prime doesn't have the Fastboot option, only the Android Icon, and the Wipe Data icon, which I have tried and doesn't work.
God damn it OTA, why!
I recently rooted my Lg G stylo (Metro). I was messing around with the Clockwork Mod Recovery. Long story short, I had to reboot into recovery but I keep getting a "Secure Booting Error" "Error code 1003". It keeps restarting over and over again and the same message keeps popping up. The screen doesn't pass the logo, it just shuts down after the error message shows up. repeat
There is no way to access the homescreen or anything. I trying to factory reset by holding the VOLUME DOWN + POWER KEY. It works. I get a menu that says Perform a factory reset , [Yes/NO]. When i click yes, the reset begins but after a while it shuts down and continues to repeat the same message. "Secure booting Error". "Error Code 1003". I have also been able to acces download mode where the screen would say firmware update/Usb. But idk what to do after that. Im pretty sure its not bricked since it still turns on.
Did you unlock the bootloader before you rooted or did you use one-click rooting apps to root your phone?
I have the same problem

As a new owner of an LG G Stylo MS631 (the Metro PCS model) I had the same issue just yesterday when working with GameTheory's Katana ROM and he pointed out that when the Secure Booting Error Code 1003 shows up it's because you have to go into the Developer Options (tap the build version 7 times under Settings - About phone - Software Info, back out two steps and then find the new setting just above About phone) and check the box next to "Enable OEM unlock" - this doesn't unlock the bootloader but it does allow you to use tools like TWRP without hassles or some of the reboot to recovery apps.
If you're getting the error and you can't get past it in any respect, you're going to need to flash the factory KDZ to get it truly useful again. That's what I ended up doing because there simply was no other way to get recovery or anything else working.
Flash the KDZ back to pure stock, go into the Developer Options and enable that option (Enable OEM unlock) and then go about rooting/flashing TWRP/etc.
Good luck...

Hello, I just soft brick my MS631 this morning. I had the phone rooted perfectly fine withthe katana ROM. Then, I stupidly use the reboot recovery option that is baked into the ROM withough developer options enabled and OEM chec (I forgot). Now, I get the looping Secure Booting Error 1003. If, I do the factory reset step (hold power and vol down) I get to the factory reset options, but when I select YES, it'll go through the loop again. HELP please, as I A) cant afford another phone right now and B) don't want to go back using my Windows 640 LTE phone with MetroPCS.

I did a similar thing. Go to HERE and follow GameTheory's unbrick guide. If you have problems downloading the KDZ like I did, then try getting it HERE
I actually did GT steps right after this post. Im now back on Katana and learned from my mistakes lol
I accidentally used king root without developer mode enabled
I also bricked my phone to the point of it being unusable. I am running on boost mobile and I am using android marshmallow 6.0. My phone said it was rooted after using the 1 Click root app and I went to start it and it now says 'security ERROR MODDED 1003'. I am stressed out at this point and I have reset it via developer menu about 3 times to no avail. I am familiar with rooting and roms but I'm not really used to using code. I'm stock everything and I am running on Boost mobile. If anyone can find a boost rom for me to use it may be possible to put my phone in download mode. I do have an sd card if it is needed to load a zip on. Please help me get my phone booted again! I believe a sprint KDZ may work but I can not find one for download anywhere. Thanks !
This may happened to me too. I am on the Boost version as well. I used the king root app to root the phone then I tried to install the adaway app. When the app told me to reboot the phone, I clicked okay but I hit the secure bootloop. I didn't even try to install a recovery. How do I fix this?!?!?!

What if you cant get the phone to do anything outside of the boot loop?

I have Bootloader unlocked, FRP unlocked, TWRP installed. When i flash anything at all, the phone only makes it to the Huawei logo, it does not reach the setup screen. I have also tried flashing with Fastboot, still same scenario. I have googled for days and flashed many zips and imgs. Any insight on what i can be doing wrong will be helpful.
SDcard method aborts at 5%.
eRecovery download does not work.
I am not willing to try DCUnlocker because i will rather take it back to Huawei and pay them.
Solved!
If anyone is in the same situation, let me know I will try to help.

Well, I was replacing a broken lcd screen. (This was not my first screen replacment. Fixing phones for friends and family it's kind of a hobby of mine. )
I turned on the phone and it didn't boot. I got erecovery screen. Tapped to download and update. It found wifi, but it couldn't find necessary file on-line. So I started to google... And in the sea of useless advices I found something I could try. So I installed kirin on the device. Now download and update worked. The device went to reboot after the update and stuck on bootloop. It turnes on, show Huawei logo, and then vibrates shortly (like when you turn on the device). Then the screen goes black, after a while it shows logo, and then vibrates shortly, goes black and so on...
Now, I can still access erecovery and download and update, but it doesn't help. I can also access fastboot.
Also, I have to mention that I'm not that good with software as I am with hardware. And also english isn't my native language so be gentle about that...
So any ideas how to fix this?
Hi,
I tried rooting my Nord 2, but managed to screw it up somewhere. I followed the usual stepw to do this, but the first time I was unable to use my wifi/bluetooth/gps. My phone was/is at the A1 EU. Version. I tried fixing the problem, but made things worse. Now I am stuck in the red dot boot logo and after a while I get to the TWRP screen. From there I can still fastboot. I tried restoring my phone from there, but without any luck. Can someone help me fix my phone ? At this point I don't even care that much anymore about rooting my phone, i just want to be able to use it again.
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
I had the same issue, but without switch to TWRP screen, just stays on red dot boot logo and that was all. The solution for me was format of the storage with stock recovery. In your case you may follow the instructions below:
1. Boot in bootloader (volume down + power on)2. Flash the stock recovery3. Reboot to recovery4. Select English, after that Wipe and Format storage (the phone will reboot automatically after success)
Best regards and good luck!

Did you try to format data via twrp and then restart?
Hi,
So I've had a lot of trouble getting TWRP flashed to this phone. After a bunch of tries I got stuck in a bootloop but I was still able to enter fastboot and recovery. I then flashed the stock fastboot ROM which fixed it and I was able to get back into the system.
I then hooked it up to my laptop again, but when I went to turn it off to get back into fastboot mode it just doesn't do anything except bootloop. I get to see the Redmi logo for a few seconds, and then it just endlessly reboots.
I can't enter fastboot nor the recovery, otherwise this would've been an easy fix. I also can't turn off the phone. Does this mean I'm ****ed? I saw the post before me where somebody seems to have the same issue, but their phone doesn't show anything on the screen at all, which is why I'm not sure if I hard bricked it or not.
It's strange too, because I have plenty of experience flashing bootloaders and ROMs, even with other Xiaomi phones, but this one has been a pain in the ass from day one. I made sure to not use anything not meant for my region (EEA) or phone model (Camellian) so I have no clue what went wrong. Any ideas?
