As the notification light is integrated in Samsung's Always On Display it has minimal battery consumption and doesn't drain your battery like other apps which keep your phone awake!
If you don't need the Always On Display, the app can also activate the Always On Display (AOD) only on notifications or show the notification light / LED even without the Always On Display!
With the notification preview feature you can directly see if you have important notifications without waking your Galaxy S21!
MAIN FEATURES:

• Low energy notification preview (android 10+)

I have used it on many of my samsung devices. Now it also works perfectly on the note 20 ultra device. As soon as I get my S21 ultra device I’m already putting it up. Basic application.

I've been using this on my S20U, and love it. Will load on S21u when it arrives next Friday.

Just tested. Runs perfectly here on S21!

Works perfectly on S21 ultra device.

it seems impossible make it blink simultaneously the camera led and display border lights. No options here

Is there any way to dismiss notifications from the AOD without turning on the phone?

Been playing with the app on my S21+ since I loved it on my S10+ but running into some issues.
Settings > Colors > Event colors... My screen is completely blank. No options listed on it, not sure if this is normal
Also in the Always on Display section I have it set to always hide but the fingerprint sensor is still lit when the screen is off. Is there a way to get rid of that too?

Wow what a shock... 30 seconds of reading your FAQ would have saved me some time. Appreciate the help and keep up the awesome work!

I am using your app and really like it. I have the app enabled for my text messages and just recently, when I get a text message, I get the light where I have it set but I don't see on the screen who the text is from. I have not changed any settings. Would that be something in your app that I am missing? Thanks.

Nevermind. Figured it out. Seems when the app is updated, sometimes different features that were on previously get toggled off.

Can someone explain "Custom night time - Disable the app during this time". I don't see a place to specify the time.

Auto-Brightness & screen lock

Hi,
I've had my xperia S for a couple of days now and I did not notice a change in brightness depending on the ambient light. I've checked in the screen section under setting and there is no option for auto-brightness unlike my previous android phone (Nexus 1). Does the Xperia S have an auto-brightness option?
Moreover, I'm used to using the pattern lock on my previous phone. With the Xperia S, when I enable the pattern security feature, I am also presented with the normal screen lock (lock/mute). Is there a way to disable that screen?
Thank you in advance

If I am not mistaken no SE phone has auto-brightness, reason is nowhere to be found....
The same for the lock screen, most probably the ingenuity of the SE/S engineers stopped after creating Timescape...

What about widgets? Check them (there was something like Power Widget, or Power Control, can't remember), or you could use external aplication. I think Extended Controls or Free Power Widget got something like that. It is not in Display Settings anymore.
UPDATE:
Power Control (It has Wi-Fi, BT, GPS, Sync and Brightness buttons) Brightness should have 3 settings: Max, auto and minimum.

I do use widgets to control the brightness manually (power widgets & beautiful widgets). Both control brightness and power widget even has an auto-brightness check box that has no effect what so ever.

Woah, wait a minute. No auto-brightness? That can't be. The specs sure indicate there is ambient light sensor. There is indeed no "auto-brightness" box to check off, unlike with other Android devices, but I thought that this new Xperia series is supposed to work like iOS devices do. In other words, you move the slider to determine the *average* brightness of the screen, just the way an iphone or ipad does. The screen gets brighter in with more ambient light and dimmer in darkness, but the average brightness is controlled by the slider.
Most other Android devices use the slider to determine a "fixed" brightness, not an average dynamic brightness.
Are you sure the brightness doesn't change?? I find that hard to believe with an ambient light sensor on board.
The white paper says there is an ambient light sensor.
I just checked the user guide installed on my XPS. It mentioned about light sensor and brightness adjustment.

I know it has a sensor, but I could not see a difference. Even when I cover the sensor with my thumb, I could not see the same change in brightness as I am accustomed too on my nexus one.

I did not imply that there is no light sensor, just that I couldn't find the auto brighness check box and couldn't notice the change in brightness.

Thanks a lot! I've checked it and my light sensor works. The change in value seems minimal though. I will play around with the brightness slider to see if I notice it now.
Thanks again!

[APP] Light Manager Compatibility

I created this application for Samsung Galaxy SIII and I guess it might be useful to be used in Samsung Galaxy Note II. Some Samsung Galaxy Note II users reported that this application works properly in their device. So I guess there should be not much differences between Samsung Galaxy SIII and Note II in term of the core software. Anyway, you may report if there is any bugs. Your suggestions and comments are welcomed as well.
Description:
Configure LED color and its flashing frequency for notification as shown below:
- Miss call
- SMS
- MMS
- Gmail
- Calendar reminder
- Hangouts
- *Email
- *Facebook and Messenger
- *Twitter
- *WhatsApp
- *LINE
- *GO SMS Pro
- *Handcent SMS
- *Any 3rd party apps
- Low battery
- Battery charging
- Battery charged
- No signal
- No 3G/4G
- No Wifi
- Silent Mode On
- Mobile Data On
- Wifi On
- Wifi Hotspot On
- Bluetooth On
On Android 4.1 and 4.2, ROOT is required for those mark with asterisk *.
After grant the ROOT permission, you need to restart Light Manager for changes to take effect.
However ROOT is not required anymore from Android 4.3 onwards. You need to enable the Notification Access for Light Manager.
There are two operating modes:
1) Normal Mode - Only LED color for the first notification will be flashing
2) Alternating Mode - A few LED colors will be flashing alternately when multiple notifications are received

Yes, it is constantly running in background and cause wakelock only when you switch to "Alternating Mode".
Battery consumption is depending on your settings.
Minimum consumption would be running in "Normal Mode" without any 3rd party app notification LED enabled.
I got about 0.1% tested with Gsam Battery Monitor in SGSIII.
Looks interesting. What is the main difference between this and Light Flow?
This one does not talk back.

Thanks.
Seems to work well.
Thx a lot ! Looks very nice !
One thing I've noticed is that if I get a notification, the LED will blink as it should.
But if I then swipe away the notification instead of opening it, the LED keeps blinking once you lock the screen.
I have to go into the app that the notification was for in order to stop the LED blinking.
Is there any way to stop the LED if you swipe away the notification?
[edit] This only seems to be a problem when set to "Alternating Mode". When set to "Normal" swiping away a notification stops the LED flashing. I'll leave it set to normal and forego the multicolours [/edit]
Not working on Note 2 rooted.. installed the app, configured colors, gave root, restarted app.. nothing.
For me work well and this app fix the problem when charging and led light show red fade now it show real red thxx

The app is working well!
But is there any possibility to also show the led notifications when the screen is on? So when i play a game or something and my device vibrates i can see what notification i received by looking at the led light.
I can also confirm that it kills the swyping feature of the keyboard just like Light Flow

Swyping feature still working fine for me.
The add app doesn't seem to work. Otherwise, works well! LED app with none of the talking folders, just what I'm looking for! :good:
EDIT: Stupid me. Just read that you need "alternating mode" to add apps. What's alternating mode and how is it different from normal?
What settings are you guys using for this to work? When I try to do the test nothing happens for me.
I tried light Flow and could only get a single color working (cyan).

Well main difference is that it works flawlessly, when Light Flow once enabled it also enables Talkbalk (I think there's a solution for that posted somewhere) BUT most importantly (for me) it disables the swype-like features on Samsung Keyboard.
+1 to Light Manager
I use no special settings and it just works. Try normal mode though.

Yeah, swipe away the notification will not cancel the notification LED. I guess this is a bug which cannot be fixed. For Normal Mode, it can work because the firmware will cancel all notification LED once you have pulled down the notification bar.

I guess this function is limited by the manufacturer. Notification LED can only appear when the screen is off.

Question:
By active display, does it function like the stock one (you pick up the phone and the screen will light up itself)?
My answer:
Yes, partially.
Pocket Mode works perfectly - I have tried many ROMs (Gummy, LiquidSmooth), but this has the best implementation of Active Display.
You need to check the settings.
Diplay will light up when:
- any notifications arrives,
- you pull it from the pocket,
- you move your hand about 5 cm above proximity sensor (upper part of the phone)
Motorola uses the gyroscope and proximity sensor, this AOSP Active Display uses only the proximity sensor.
(I need to say that no 3-rd party app can work like Motorola Active Display because it is somehow hard-coded in the framework and in my opinion in the kernel as well.)

This "Active Display" hasn't got breathing option, only the redisplay notifications, and the minimum value is 1 minute (too much. Optimal is 4-5 sec), so this active display useless for me
Yes, it is what I wrote already = this free AOSP Active Display uses only the Proximity Sensor, not the Gyroscope like Motorola AD.

?? Gyroscope sensor and Breathe notifications option is two different things...Dynamic notifications program (Active Display clone) has breathe notification option, and doesn't use gyroscope sensor.
Video record just can set to CIF or QVGA,
Does any patch can fix it?

Adds a configurable Energy Ring around the camera lens indicating current Battery level. Dive into the various configuration options, not only you can quickly glance and get the battery info but, Energy Ring adds an accent to your phone's camera lens.
Got a full charge? The Ring will be a 360 degree wrap around the front camera lens.
Battery depleting? So will the arc of Energy Ring.
Out of the box features:-
✓ Energy Ring can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to a donut thick ring
✓ Energy Ring puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
✓ Energy Ring's direction can be configured as clockwise/bidirectional/anti-clockwise
✓ Energy Ring can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
✓ Energy Ring can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
✓ Energy Ring could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient (pro)
✓ You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
✓ Energy Ring has a number of cool animations whenever a power source is plugged into your device
All that is cool! But what about Energy Ring consuming Battery?!
This is one of the most exciting question for me to answer. Energy Ring more than anything understands that you need to utilize your battery efficiently (after all, that's why you installed the App, right? .) Energy Ring sits on the screen silently putting almost 0% load on CPU, if battery level changes, Android wakes up Energy Ring. Once awake, Energy Ring quickly updates itself and goes back to sleep. And to be that extra efficient, the Ring goes on deep sleep when you turn off the screen, meaning it doesn't even read changes in battery level when the screen is off.
Notification Access requirement:
Energy Ring does not read any Notification whatsoever, it merely relies on it to be alive. Be assured that the App does NOT access anything.

Tried it, but wierd behavior when going to landscape - ring gets stuck showing in the wrong place on the screen - no longer around the camera, but where it thinks the whole should be even though it's a different orientation.
Went back to Energy Bar for now.

I have just installed it and I did not encounter that issue. I had Google Play Store open, moved the phone to landscape and back and the ring moved with the whole app but bounced back to the camera punchhole.
My question is, what about the display burning in? I know that it only works when the screen is on but this question might fall from other and this is why I have asked.

Great to know it! Enjoy the App!
Have you ever consider the option of making way for it turn off when your screen is on & turn back on when your screen is back off?

Since, the phone's screen is likely to be off the majority of time, would like to avoid any potential unforeseeable issue with screen burn-ins. So yes, wouldn't like to add such a feature for now.

Hi! Please refer to the notes added to the bottom of App's listing on Play Store in specific.
Another suggestion - can you make little 12 6 3 9 ticks on the Ring Origin so its easier to get the 12 position. It's minor but might be a nice touch to have these ticks for reference.
Is it possible it only make it show up when charging and not all the time?? Thank you.

I use this app a lot on my OnePlus Nord and I think I'll do the same on the S22+
What do you think of some gradient coloring feature ? Like we can chose 2 colors for some animations

Greetings, thank you for the app great work!. A couple of observations:
* The "Camera edge-Fine tuning" section needs further alignment, if u change the "Offset position of Y" to : -2 that should solve it.
* Regarding setting up the app you need to mention that the app needs " the battery optimization" option to be changed to "Unrestricted" in order for it to not be killed and stop working.
* If you restart the device, the app doesn't work properly because AOD is turned off and you will have to turn it on manually again. I hope that can be solved soon.
I use this on all my devices..never had an issue. So I am saying thanks once again
Hello @Jawomo
Which topic should I use to talk about Power button remapper for my S22+?
Edge lighting does not work on the S22 plus.
