After owing mate 20 pro for 2 years, finally I got my bootloader unlocked with the help from https://ministryofsolutions.com/, within 1 hour ( if I don't bother him it will be quicker) Nice work!!! Cost me only $15.

Are you on emui 10?

Real question is how.

9 is always unlockable (some may had a hard time getting the code but at least the unlocking command was allowed), just make sure you don't upgrade to EMUI 10

Sure, 9.1 is good enough for me to stay rooted.
Please add you android version to the title or at least you first post. This will save time for every reader here. Thanks
Great news, thank you

Hello there!
I finally changed my old Z5 for a brand new XZ1, but as usual my first reflex is to root it.
Thing is, I'm totally lost, I don't understand how to proceed, I just want to root it AND apply DRMFix to keep X-Realty and camera as well (I just got my XZ1 Yesterday)
Anyone can help me or, has a guide according to my setup?
My XZ1 info :
Model : G8341
Android Version : 8.0.0
Build Version : 47. 1. A. 8. 49
Thanks a lot

Sorry i didn't saw , my bad folks , and thanks btw
No problem
I bought an Mi 8 chinese version to save money, actually I bought it because I didn't have enough money to buy a global version.
I requested to unlock bootloader from the first day I received it, it said I have to wait 360 hours, that was totally ok with me.
Then after 360 hours, I tried to unlock again, it said I have to wait 800 hours (!?)
And today, after few days, I checked again and it said I have to wait 1056 hours
I have to live with it for sure, but please careful with Xiaomi, they didn't even want to help their buyer.
I emailed [email protected] and they keep saying that I have to wait. I waited 360 hours, OMG, then tried and still have to wait 800 hours, and now 10xx hours?
I created a topic on en.miui.com forum, it seems they saw but ignored.
https://en.miui.com/thread-5442558-1-1.html
A user suggested to create new one on Complaints/Advice section, it got deleted instantly after it posted.

It is possible jf you have an unlocked bootloader and TWRP. Follow the steps in the first page in the link below
https://forum.xda-developers.com/po...-f1-unlock-bootloader-custom-t3839405/page701
WARNING: IT'S BEST THAT YOU STILL CREATE A BACKUP OF YOUR CURRENT DATA SINCE THIS IS A MAJOR ANDROID UPDATE AND IT MAY BE POSSIBLE THAT SOMETHING STILL HAPPENS AND YOU LOSE DATA DESPITE GETTING UPGRADED

Courtesy of Hikari_Calyx (exact tweet that has the image above here).
In the picture above, 5 out of 8 prototypes in it has a very similar camera layout to the retail Nokia X10/20.
Knowing that most (if not all) of the times, if we want to unlock a released-in-2021-or-later Nokia phone's bootloader (including the X10/20), we'll have to get prototype bootloader images from prototype units..... Damn, this is going to get very good!

Wouldn't call it good, utter bloatware full of rubbish of an OS and it seems no bootloader is available

yeah, but when we get an unlockable bootloader, we can say goodbye to the OS, and load up our own stuff!

not sure, if we'll get one, as nokia seem to have decided to go that sort of route
I have looked everywhere on XDA, I cant seem to find LineageOS for this device, no TWRP either

The bootloader is deadlocked on VZ version
No unlockable bootloader = NO custom ROM

I have option for OEM unlocking (not greyed out anymore) after I factory resetted the device.
