Broke screen and unlocked bootloader - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

Hi!
Today was appears on my screen vertical purple line accros all screen. It show up only on screen. On screenshot don't. So i think it is a hardware problem right? I will send my phone on warranty but problem is that my bootloader is unlocked. I will lock bootloader again. My question is. Is any chance find out when was the bootloader unlocked and locked?
Thanks

OnePlus doesn't void warranty with unlocked bootloader. They have nothing against it, you can send it unlocked

Great. Thanks

[Q] Help with unlocking bootloader on Live (WT19i)

I have been trying for two days now to unlock the bootloader on a friend's Live with Walkman (Wt19i) with little success.
The phone came with firmware 4.0.2.A.0.58 and is branded so in the *#*#7378423#*#* /Service info/Configuration menu, the rooting status is :
Bootloader unlock allowed: No
Rooting was easy, thanks DoomLord.
Next is unlock bootloader. I tried to do this via the s1tool method because the official Sony method was a no-go because of branding.
The s1tool method seemed like it would work but then I read that it also doesn't work on branded phones.
I attempted it anyway - the result was no change whatsoever in the phone's bootloader status.
Can I unlock the bootloader without having to pay someone to do it?
The s1tool method might work even if the phone is branded but if you want to unlock the boot loader to flash custom kernels and roms you will need to enter to fast boot mode which is disabled in all the branded phones that I know of, you can try to enter the phone in fastboot mode turning it of and connecting the USB cable to the PC and the phone holding down the volume up key, if the notification led turn on blue then you can flash custom kernels and rooms once the bootloader is unlocked if not then you will need to pay to unlock it if that is what you or your friend wants.
Hope it's helpful!!
Thanks for your reply, very helpful indeed.
I will see if I can boot into that mode when I get back home and at least then I'll know for sure.
It would be ever-so-nice if I could unlock this for her without having to pay money for it. (She won it in a competition that she only entered because her iPhone died recently - but the Live WT19i is locked to the wrong network)

Well actually for a sim unlock at this moment you will need to pay for, there's no way to unlock the sim for free. Unlocking the bootloader it's a different matter than the sim. I didn't mention it because you were asking about the boot loader sorry.
And I stupidly assumed unlocking the bootloader would allow me to unlock the SIM lock/branding.
Thanks again for the help, I'll just tell her she has to pony up the dough if she wants to use it on her network.

When you unlock, does a boot image or warning pop up every reboot?

On phones I've had in the past, when I officially unlock the bootloader, it shows some warning or boot image saying that the bootloader has been unlocked every time I boot the phone.
Does the AT&T HTC One do this? I ask because I'm concerned about buying one, unlocking it, and then needing to return/exchange it.
If you unlock the bootloader and it does show the boot image or warning, can you make it go away by simply relocking the bootloader?

Does Motorola fix the physical issues on bootloader unlocked devices?

Someone told me he got his sim slot fixed by Motorola after the sim slot was damaged using SIM adapter.
I have the same problem, and I started an RMA with Motorola, but I am concerned they will reject the service once they see boot loader is unlocked.
Should I attempt to re-lock the bootloader (I understand this may cause issues) or just take my chances and send it in?
Doesn't Motorola provide us with the token to unlock the bootloader?

afaik unlocking the bootloader voids the warranty (except in Europe)

it's not true. When you unlock bootloader you have to confirm like 10 times that you know that this voids warranty so it doesn't matter where you live.
But... many small services doesn't check bootloader status because for them more repairs is more money. In my case with Sony phone I had ulocked bootloader and I've broken it trying to repartition device and still they changed my motherboard for free. So imo it's worth to try.
Just came back to confirm that Motorola sent me the phone back un-repaired with a note that they do not repair devices with unlocked bootloaders.

Can Motorola tell if my bootloader has been relocked?

I have the Verizon Moto Z (Droid Edition) and am thinking I'll try my luck at getting the unlock code. Does simply getting the unlock code (from a CSR) automatically void the warranty, or do I actually have to unlock my bootloader to void it? If the latter and I need to send my phone in for service under (original) warranty - and I relock the bootloader - is there anything like Samsung's KNOX that will tell Motorola I've my bootloader was unlocked?
Clearly I'd rather do it unofficially, but I don't hold out much hope that a method will ever be developed for the VZW phones.

Yes they keep a record of all unlock codes sent out. Your warranty is void as soon as you receive the code

"Bootloader unlock allowed: no", but on a phone that was previously unlocked??

Hi all,
I have a Z5C and I unlocked it in the past. At the time I needed online banking and got annoyed with not being able to hide the fact my phone was rooted, so I restored stock Android 7.1.1 onto it.
I came back to this after a year or two and thought that I could just root the phone again. Lo and behold, it now says the bootloader cannot be unlocked and everyone says that means it's the end and nothing can be done.
Is that true? Is it possible to unlock the bootloader, but then permanently re-lock it somehow? That seems really strange to me, but perhaps that's what happened. Anyone else have any input on whether this can be reverted somehow?
Thanks,
