Hi,
Did anyone experience some issue in the OTA upgrade to V12.0.3.0.QFQEUXM?
Now, at the first reboot after the upgrade, my touch doesn't work anymore and to unlock I used an external mouse.
I thought the V12.0.3.0.QFQEUXM was one of the "safe" roms without the bricking bug... But still, the touch not working isn't exactly good
Did you overcome this issue?
Thanks
I bricked my Mi A# trying to go back to a earier rom. Please just wait for an OTA to fix this, since you have a OTG to use mouse, youll be able to install it from the phone itself. Good luck

i have the same case, do u mean that if xiaomi launch new fixed update rom/loader of android 11 we can install/load it from flashdisk using OTG cable?
I am facing the same issue. The touchscreen doesn't work anymore. Please help!
I brought the phone to Xiaomi repair centre and... They're scamming me!
They don't give me back the phone if I don't pay 20€ or if I don't pay 80€ to repair the back camera glass that has a small crack (for 6 months). They don't either check the issue if before I don't pay WTF!!!
And, official Xiaomi support via email agrees that, before checking the phone, I have to repair at my expense any scratch!!! And that they don't know about any issue on the Mi A3 FW!!! As if the dozens of wrong firmware of the latest year never existed!!! I'm speechless!!!

Sorry I couldn't respond earlier. No, I meant that you can use the mouse to get to the Options menu and install the OTA update directly from the phone.

That' is the only hope!
P.S. Here in Italy Xiaomy doesn't repair your phone really for free! If you have some scratches on the back a small sign on the camera glass, etc... They pretend that you pay them to fix the visual glitches and then they will repair your phone for the s**t they did!
So, they release public statements that they will fix the issue, and then in reality they scam you...

Sorry to hear that. I have same problem, touch not working after update to A11, bricked after downgrade to 10. Then i bring to service center, they fix it for free, even with unlocked bootloader (I'm living in Vietnam).
Unfortunately, at least here in Italy, Xiaomi seems a very unprofessional company (to not say something worst)!
They are not fixing it, they pretend money to before repair and replace unrequested component that have scratches, before even trying to fix the s*it they did.
For my point of view, I wouldn't anymore suggest to anyone to buy them. Because, if then this is the service you get, you save more money with any other brand that has a professional after sale support.
I got back my phone, I had to pay for it because they weren't fixing it for free, despite it was a problem caused by them (that's a joke Xiaomi)!
However, I received a new fw and with a mouse connected via OTA I installed it and, now touch works... But still, WTF Xiaomi, you create a global issue and then you spill money from clients? I got rid of the phone now and my next phone this year won't be a Xiaomi
same issue here, won't buy Xiaomi smartphone next time for sure.
I have a question: if a rom is buggy, is buggy FOR ALL USERS. But if some user (like me) don't have any bug... Problably is not a xiaomi issue. It's a user issue that don't have the skills to apply an ota update without mistakes. For example first a11 killer ota bricked all phones. But 12.0.3.0 that i have installed two months ago...have touchscreen working perfectly. So Good luck with yours futures Samsung... But if you don't be able to update a phone, don't incolpe xiaomi.
Anyway... Digit this * # * # 64663 # * #* and make the specific test...

First try an hard reset. Or better a clean firmware installation. But before try a touchscreen test. If is a little software problemi, the test solve it with a sort of recalibration

Mmmm.... I suggest you a clean system installation via fastboot or with miflash in edl mode
I'm afraid the new android security system will ask me for my unlock pattern during installation.
How to enter in the EDL mode?
hello, after almost 2 months i managed to solve my problem. because of this fuc.... covid, I could not cross the border to take my mobile phone to the after-sales service, so I ordered a usb adapter to be able to connect a keyboard and mouse, and suddenly I was able to skip the unlocking pattern and go to settings to check for available updates, and luckily for me there was one of 43mb! After installing this update, the touch screen works again !!

Hello again
Sometimes we can brick our devices by a bad unlock, flashing process, or simply bad luck.
The phone doesn't turn on and there is a Red Led Of Death when pressing power button. Even with a GREEN led when we plug the phone with back key pressed the computer detect the phone as "unknown device" so there is no chance to get fixed by Flashtool or SEUS/PC Companion.
Well this problem normally means that the bootloader is broken or damaged. So, in order to fix it we need to write a new SEMCboot and after this we were able to flash a full and fresh firmware with flashtool and unbrick our Xperia.
This process like unlocking process requires SETool dongle/box and a paperclip to make a testpoint to put the phone in flash mode and be able to write the SEMCBoot.
I can help to anyone with a bricked Xperia Arc/Play/Neo/Pro just make send me a PM.
Like unlocking process you will need this 3 programs:
SETool software for unlocking
USB Over network client for remote dongle
Teamviewer client for remote support and guide
anyway if you want me to buy a Dr. Pepper just
Sometimes even after fix the bootloader the phone doesn't want to boot. In most cases this is by a damaged TRIM AREA (TA).
The trim area is a part of softwere stored in eeprom so it can be read and write with the proper software like SETool.
Read and Write trim area is very easy but you should know that some sectors of the TA are unique for you phone, lets call it Security Units.
The process for repair trim area is indeed very easy.
For sure we need Testpoint like in unlocking or bootloader repair process.
1. Backup Security Units with this script:
Code:
taread:00020851
taread:000207D3
taread:000207Da
2. Write a Working TA backup from another phone (same model)
3. Restore Security Units.
Thats all, now your phone should boot well but is 90% possible that you dont get Signal so for fix that we need to unlocking.
If this last thing is needed you can refer to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1232033

Thanks Alejandrissimo!!
Alejandrissimo is the best!!
Two weeks ago, I tried to flash cyanogenmod7, but I'm a n00b, so ofcourse it went wrong. My device(Arc) wouldn't boot anymore, I tried some things and suddenly it even wouldn't connect with fastboot..
So I saw this topic and some other ones from Alejandrissimo, Many comments praising him for his patience and help, that's why I contacted him, and that evening he helped me getting my phone working! He really Knowles where he is talking about!
Only problem I had left was NO SIGNAL, I asked Alejandrissimo if he could help me with that and yes he said he could. For almost a whole week, oh well. Much time difference, so it was hard to catch eachother we tried flashing it again and again in different ways. Yesterday he thought he had the answer, we tried it, and it worked!! I'm so happy he helped me getting my phone back! So so many thanks again Alejandrissimo!!
In order to unlock my trim area for my SIM I had to pay 24USD, cause Alejandrissimo had to buy credits at Sony Ericsson, but it was totally worth it!
Sent from my WORKING LT15i using xda premium
happened to me this morning but with a lot of luck i managed to get the phone in the flashboot mode (with a lot of tries connecting to PC) and install the stock FW (as i read FW is light on the boot loader)and tried to boot (with a lot of tries) i got it boot once but stops after Xperia screen i tried and tried until it booted normally i want to get back to the custom ROM but afraid that problem accrued again.
NOTE:last night tried to install True licensed market to get paid apps for free the phone heated and heated i uninstalled it and connected the phone to the laptop to charge overnight.
check your gtalk @Alejandrissimo. i've just send you invitation
i need your help for giving my mini pro back, now its on the dead of red led :crying:

Guys, I recently bought a redmi 5 plus that installed with miui 9.2.0.2.
It can randomly bricked after a few days use.
When it bricked, I cannot boot into recovery mode nor power up the device, the led light keep blinking when charging and nothing will ever show up on the screen no matter what I press.
All I do is take it to service centre and they will open up the device back cover and boot it, but they will never tell me what they did.
Now the third time I go to service centre, they accused me for unauthorised opening the back cover due to scratch at the side of the screen, so the warranty is void.
Please help me get out of this nightmare, I want to know if I flash global dev rom to it, the problem will be solved?
If yes, how do I do it? Is it possible to flash with the updater? Or only testpoint method? (Note: this device is installed fake vendor rom)

if your device is completely bricked then you have to do test point method. It is not very hard, and it will make your phone work again, flash chinese beta rom and unlock bootloader if you want then.

Can I flash global development rom directly from a fake rom? From what I read in other thread, Chinese development rom will come out with error 86006
Personally i have a MEE7 version phone, you can check yours in the phone box. I had a fake rom and couldnt update or flash anything. So i did test point, flashed chinese developer rom and succesfully bind my account without any error whatsoever and no need for any vpn at all. So now i am only waiting for 15 days to go by and i can unlock.

Have fun finding someone that doesn't charge you an immense amount of money for that. Yeah, paying 100$ to some trustworthy ukrainian guy is probably better than buying a new phone.
I hope that these guys learned their lesson to not randomly flash any "fancy" things to their phone. Always look for trusted sources.
I for myself don't even flash newly released roms or kernels. Better wait a week, check some feedback and then go for it.

Xiaomi has enabled the anti roll-back "feature" (more than a pain in the a$$, in my opinion). If you want to roll back (for example, from 11 to 10), unless you disable the anti roll-back protection, if you flash an older version of the firmware via Mi Flash Tools, you'll end up with a bricked phone (likely to be fixed if you boot your device in EDL mode and then do a tedious process).
Hope this helps you, let me know if I can help you with anything else

AFAIK, in theory, if it throws you 0, it should be disabled. Nonetheless, I wouldn't hurry when doing all of this. I bricked my A3 and, even though it could be fixed (prior 58€ payment ), I'm gonna return to the seller.
Have you experienced issues when using YouTube Vanced on floating window? Yesterday night I was trying to watch something and it started lagging (and, to make matters worse, vibration doesn't work and the fingerprint has become unreliable AF, both caused by a software issue).
I'm telling all of this because all of this happened after installing the last update, so bear in mind all those issues so as to consider if they're a big deal or not. As for me, sadly I'm gonna keep using my Redmi Note 5 Pro until something interesting pops up.
I suggest you to stay on A11... Or install a custom rom... Because downgrade is not 100% safe... And a11 is good like a10. In my opinion is better. A question: if like a10 so much to risk a brick after the downgrade, why you have updated your phone?
Coz i didnt know rollback was impossible. This is my first android one phone, switched from redmi note 7, and i had no rollback issues with it

When the phone is off, hold up + down volume key, then press and hold power, for like 5 seconds. The phone will boot in edl mode. Ofc it works only for qualcomm based phone.
After this you'll need an edl authorized account, or a ay to bypass it.

So I may have bricked my phone and need some serious help right now...
I was ready to flash October's monthly update. I had downloaded the factory image, and extracted everything from the factory image. I patched the magisk image and had it ready in the same directory. I edited the flash_all.bat script and removed the "-w" flag. I disabled all modules on magisk, and had got the phone to bootloader mode. I then ran the flash_all.bat script, and then for some reason the bootloader flashing failed. My phone now won't turn on and is a complete black screen. I need some major help here.
EDIT: My PC cannot see it on EITHER ADB or Fastboot devices

How long are you holding it? I have found that it takes a *really long time* (like, a full minute) of holding that power button to get any response. But if still nothing, "black screen with no response" does sound like the "bad bootloader" brick. :x Might be fixable under warranty, I'm not sure.
.......I'm getting a feeling that I did the wrong device's bootloader and it failed. Now it's stuck....

What hurts hard is that I've taken exceptional care of this, like battery was still at 100%. Ugghh. Traded in my 4a 5G for this at launch.

Well if you're willing I'm trying to start a small team for testing existing methods to unbricking.
I've come to the conclusion that all you need to talk to the phone is a USB c to 2.0 cable then hold vol up/dwn. This exposes the bootROM output and messages from the phone in serial output on COMM5, and if you're on Unix then it's on ttyACM0. Interestingly enough it's in Exynos downloading mode. The computer gives us the USB descriptor and a bulk in and bulk out endpoint.
I believe Exynos uses Syn/Ack/Dwn/Up
So an update, I took it today to a UBreakIFix location since here in Canada they're an authorized repair place. I fortunately still had 2 weeks warranty on it (of a year) so the repair is supposedly covered (they emailed Google and got authorization on it). After doing the diagnosis, they said the issue is with the motherboard or something (I'm assuming it flashed the wrong thing and bricked) so they had to replace it. They have the part in stock so I'm getting the phone back tomorrow. Hoping this gets everything back in place and repair holds up. Nothing was wrong with it otherwise, just hope their repair handiwork is good and all the pieces are placed correctly. I did lose all my data and messages though as I had been choosing not to save a number of things to my Google account (I had it on pause) so it will take quite a bit of time to just get it back to the way I like it. Also hoping that they don't then also prevent the bootloader from being unlocked, which I've read has happened after Google RMA's your device.
Thank you everyone. And @NonStickAtom785 , hope for all the best in your testing into unbricking methods and look forward to having you share your findings, in case for whatever reason others or hopefully NOT me runs into that situation.
