extract the official recovery from the global fastboot rom and flash through cmd to recover the boot, then wipe from the recovery and you will return to miui 12.1.1
what i'm trying to figure out is if i can go back to the previous version of android without risking to crash the device.
I ran the fastboot getvar anti command and the result was Anti: 2 but I am not quite clear what that means.
I am a new user at Xiaomi.

Before installing custom recovery and installing custom rom, it is recommended to backup.
You installed the recovery well, but in order to install custom ROMs you have to format and restart the recovery, then pass the ROM you want to flash and reboot system.

Good evening ..
For all those interested in downloading the official ROM version of the Xiaomi mi note 10 Lite, I have news for you, at least for those who want and have not tried.
I tried the method of saving the MiFlash folder on Disk C, in the same way I did with the global ROM of miui 11.0.8 fastboot, to the latter I changed the name of the folder to a shorter one (example Miui11.0.8), then boot in fastboot mode and run my flash running the ROM (Miui11.0.8) and the result obtained is that, I'm back on Android 10 with miui 11.0.8.
I share this information to give security to all those who had doubts about this and did not dare to try.
This data I extracted from various forums and pointed to it to give credit to all those who previously published it.
Remember that the bootloader must be unlocked.
Regards.
Hi everybody
I've got a problem...
Downloaded latest OTA update from "xiaomi.eu", agreed to install, the phone then rebooted in to fastboot mode and does nothing else.
Rebooted the phone with adb command "fastboot continue" and this went well...it rebooted the system.
Now every time i restart the phone it reboots in to fastboot mode and i have to "fastboot continue" again.
I am also not able to enter recovery because the phone always enters fastboot mode.
Reinstalled recovery (Twrp-3.4.2B_toco_by.alex.msk1407.img) via ADB succesfully, but when i "fastboot reboot recovery" it reboots back into fastboot.
I'm also not able to boot into EDL mode.
Any solution?
Thanks

Just format userdata. In fastboot mode command. Fastboot format userdata
Then flash new stock fastboot images of eu in miflash.
Note,
Backup your data first
Good Day. I have concern but after updating to Android 12. Currently my Mi Note 10 Lite is experiencing stuck in fastboot and mi logo. I already tried flashing using MIFlash 2020 but the error occur is "Erase is not allowed in Lock State".I also used MI PC Suite but it cant read my device (maybe because of lock state also). Even in MI-Unlock (batch_unlock application) it says its locked but when I sign-in it doesnt give permission to unlock (I used yahoo account).

hi there,
i have got a redmi note 3 pro that keeps stuck in bootloop.
Tried:
- boot to fastboot
- fired up miflash
- rebooted phone to edl
-miflash recognized phone
- flashed "kenzo" fastboot rom (tried global stable + kenzo_global_images_V7.1.8.0.LHOMICL_20160129.0000.14_5.1_global + chinese stable)
phone remains stuck in bootloop after restart.
Is there something I am missing? Please help me out.
(I guess bootloader is locked, not my phone)
when in fastboot mode, check the state of your device (make sure you have fastboot installed):
-connect device to pc
-open cmd
-type "fastboot oem device-info"
once you know the bootloader is unlocked, open miflash tool and flash the stock ROM. I don't see you need to go to EDL mode. Miflash is for fastboot mode!
how did you not knowing the condition of your bootloader? you should know it in the first place before you do such things.
oh, and make sure the directory of your rom image doesn't have spaces in it (example: C:/Users/Ivan Kurnia/...) (be safe, move it to like C:/Desktop) otherwise it will only take 1 second to flash the rom (which flashing didn't happen)
Thank you for your ideas, I still dont know if bootloader is locked or not, because it is not my phone, I was just asked to help.
However I managed to flash TWRP, now everything is good.

How to root tedmi note 3
Flash lastest MIUI using MiFlash.
The Fastboot installation process goes all fine but device boots into Mi-Recovery by default. Currently Using Miui 9 Dev Rom (7.12.21 | Beta). This happened after I flashed the stock Dev rom after accidentally bricking my phone while unrooting through SuperSu's Full Unroot Option.
Bootloader is unlocked. Help asap plz.
Using The 4Gb 64Gb variant.
Hi,
if you flash Global Developer rom using Fastboot method, you will always flash a stock recovery with it.
There is a great manual how to unlock your device on official CZ and SK webpage created by local admins.
Just go to miuios.cz (translate it to ENG using browser like chrome or others) create an account to be able see the links.
Then on the main page scroll down to Redmi note 4 and check
[NÁVODY] - základné /Bootloader/TWRP/MIUI/ROOT
there is everything you need to unlock device with software you need.
All credits to miuios team.

I think is a problem about installation process (I had the same problem with another phone), but you can still access twrp with your computer. Just use this command: Fastboot boot "twrp.img".
Update "twpr.img" with your own twrp´s file name.
Wait untill phone´s reboot (more than 15s.)
Then use it as usual
Good luck

I ran into the same problem after unlocking the bootlader:
TWRP would not install -> [Vol+] + [Power] started only the MIUI recovery.
But after some search, I found that you have to:
enter in a terminal "fastboot flash recovery twrp-x.x.x-x-mido.img"
enter after that "fastboot boot twrp-x.x.x-x-mido.img"
My Note 4 then started in TWRP.
EDIT:
Corrected step 2

ADB doesn't work in Fastboot... fastboot.exe does. And that can only boot into itself (the bootloader), not the recovery.
Anyway, I solved the problem. Mine is a 4X not a Note 4X. Damn you Xiaomi... they are exactly alike!

As others have reported, I had the same issue too. I was able to boot to TWRP with the fastboot boot command above, but it looks like after you boot to the stock ROM (mine was MIUI V9.2.1.0.NCFMIEK as far as I remember), the TWRP recovery gets replaced by the stock one. After flashing LineageOS (official lineage-14.1-20180331-nightly-mido-signed.zip), I can now properly reboot to TWRP with Vol+ & Power.
Thanks for the tip @tinaeire :good:
Why aren't devs mentioning this in the instructions right after the recovery flash command? I'll never understand. I guess it's more MIUI's fault for being so weird about the bootloader.
TWRP boots stable
Press VOLUME-UP and POWER together, when you feel the vibration release the buttons.
-> boots into TWRP
If you hold the two buttons until you see the TWRP logo flash up and release them at that moment -> boots to MIUI.
Did that with phone mentioned below, TWRP 3.2.1, and MIUI Global 9.2 Stable.
I am also facing the same problem, please someone guide me thoroughly how to root my xiaomi redmi note 4 snapdragon global stable version. i have successfully unlocked my phone but i can't start it up in twrp recovery mode. please tell me all the steps and files necessary.

Once you flash TWRP via fastboot then use command fastboot boot xxx.img
So, you'll be able to boot to TWRP, next flash magisk for MIUI, install lazyflasher.zip and reboot and check if TWRP sticks.
i have the same issue after flash the twrp and it reboot back to mi recovery instead. However i am using redmi K20.
Found out that the issue is the twrp.img file that you flash must be a correct one that your download for your device.
If it is not the correct file ( my case is using redmi k20 pro instead of redmi k20 twrp.img), i will always failed and stay at mi recovery.
Hello everyone and sorry for my English I am French! I ask for your help because I have a little problem.
I tried to root my xiaomi redmi note 3 pro premium smartphone that I bought in China 2 years ago.
I unlocked the bootloader and then I installed adb on my PC, no worries.
Then I downloaded the TWRP from my smartphone (I took kenzo, I do not know if it's the one I had to take).
I unzipped the folder and renamed the image recovery.img that I copied to the adb folder.
Then I launched the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" then "fastboot boot recovery.img"
and then I restarted the smartphone by clicking on system (in TWRP) and since my phone remains locked to the Mi logo.
I have access to Fastboot and my smartphone is always recognized when I run the "fastboot devices" command.
And then I retried the manipulation and at the end I rebooted in recovery (in TWRP)
but it did not change anything.
Is there a way to get back to normal by keeping all the data on my smartphone? Or can I recover my data in another way?
Thank you in advance for your help !
First Why would you flash & then boot twrp? why dont just only flash and boot to recovery by Power + VOL UP to boot into recovery
and second What did you do when you're on twrp? You did not give us any details about that

I just wanted to root my smartphone (have administrator rights)
So I entered TWRP and it asked me for a password that I did not have so I clicked cancel then reboot then on system
(by searching on google I understood that this password would come from the diagram of unlocking of the screen or the sensor of impression and that without this password the data of the smartphone could not be decrypted)
Except that restarting the smartphone is blocked on the Mi logo.
I did not do anything else. (I wanted to download and installed SuperSU after reboot, but I did not do it).
Then I went back to TWRP because I can go back (but I can not see the data of the smartphone without the password that it asks me when I arrive in TWRP) and I made a wipe cache (in TWRP) but it has not changed anything.

Try booting in recovery again via Fastboot.
- Install Minimal ADB & Fastboot setup (search on Google or XDA)
- Go in Fastboot mode of phone and connect it to PC
- Open command prompt and go to the folder location where minimal ADB is installed
- Type:
fastboot devices
- You should see your device listed with some Alpha-numeric code
- Copy TWRP by Vashishth or official TWRP .img file in the Minimal ADB installation folder
- type:
fastboot boot your-recovery-file-name.img
If your bootloader is not locked, you should be able to see phone rebooted in TWRP else you might need to unlock bootloader again.
Also if in TWRP Install commands are not working, try "Format Data" it is different from Wiping Data partition, Format Data will clear all of your internal storage including photos and videos and files.
After that you can download ROM or your PC and try installing it by sideloading it via adb command.
Good luck!

Go to nearest service centre
Going to a service center probably isn't a wise idea. You've rooted your phone - your warranty is gone.
I guess you don't have the right drivers installed OR, the stock rom you were trying to flash had some issues with the flash script. You might want to take a look at this post
Download the correct stock ROM for your device, the .tgz version & flash it with miflash tool. It's important to note that some versions of miflash tool don't work with Mi A series phones for unknown reasons.
Alternatively, if your recovery is working, then you can flash the recovery version of stock rom. It's all available on this forum.

tried flashing my mi a3 to stock now stuck in fastboot mode
I finally got miflash to recognize my phone by adding a new folder and naming it "log" and i tried flashing "laurel_sprout_global_images_V10.3.8.0.PFQMIXM_20191012.0000.00_9.0_d099f2839b" ; it said it was flashing and had green progress bar, but it went all the way to 100% after about 600 seconds and i just gave up after 1200 seconds. what am I missing?

Just reboot your device when it finishes after 600 seconds. Miflash doesn't tell you that it successfully flashed it it just goes on forever. So just reboot and it will work.
Negative. still stuck in fastboot mode

it's unable as its in a locked state: 'FAILED (remote: 'Slot Change is not allowed in Lock State
I believe I need to get it into EDL mode. I have no problem taking off the back glass and shorting the pins to do so, but not sure what to do after that point... Set slot to active "a", flash it with miflash with a fastboot stock ROM? Also from what ive read, you can only put thw phone into edl mode once so it's a one shot deal.

Try to unlock bootloader once again through fastboot and after that you can change the slot.

managed to get into EDL mode by shorting the pinouts, but still cant flash stock ROM cuz apparently xiaomi has to authorize it (ie i dont have permission to unbrick it). This is the first and last xiaomi phone I'll ever buy - never had a phone where there was no option i had to unbrick it. going to ****in smash it to peices!
I felt sorry that no one did help these people,
go to fastboot and run windows commands in twrp folder and type as following :
- option one:
fastboot devices
./fastboot set_active b
./fastboot erase boot
./fastboot set_active a
./fastboot erase boot
fastboot flashing unlock (optional)
fastboot Flash boot [put twrp name].img or go to mi flash to install stock rom. or unzip the stock rom from bat file run it
or try the second option:
