I am thinking if i can flash working recovery with stock kernel and if that brakes Knox or OTA????
The idea is a semiroot condition that not affect "official" status but gives me some benefits.
I am on stock g925f 6.0.1
To start used this thread to root with no problems here
Then realized needed to flash and root with Magisk to be able play pogo, so removed root and put phone back to default os with Sony companion and tried to flash Magisk but every time i do the phone wont boot and I just get a flashing red led when i try
Has any one installed magisk on Z2 that can help me out
android version: 6.0.1
model: d6503
boot-loader unlocked
TWRP recovery installed
magisk version 12.0

Magisk need to be patched in order to work on stock ROM, use THIS.
I have CM 13 Last snapshot installed on my G2 (f320) right now. I have tried this method with other roms like LOS or Crdroid too!
1. Disable root (if enabled from developer options in CM or LOS based roms)
2. Install Latest Magisk 14.3 via TWRP
3. Install Latest Universal Safetynet fix v2 beta 5 Magisk module IMP
4. Profit!
I have bypassed safetynet and use Snapchat daily while also having my phone rooted!
Hope it helps!
I just updated my Redmi Note 3 (mido) to MIUI 11 (global version).
I unlocked the bootloader officially.
- from the Developer option mentioned "Unlocked"
- during bootup, there's "Unlocked" text.
so, I flash TWRP in with ADB (fastboot flash recovery),
then, I flashed Magisk in recovery, with LazyFlasher (in view of I got stuck in bootloop afterwards).
the issues here is,
no SuperUser access - no permission asked when I open BusyBox/Root Checker app.
there's a Magisk icon on the homescreen, no issues opening it.
passed SafetlyNet.
both Magisk Manager, and Magisk ticked green.
any workaround for this?
got it sorted out.
after reading from "https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/help/how-to-upgrade-miui-10-rooted-to-miui-11-t4006971",
noticed there're issues with Magisk 20.1
I downgraded to MIUI 10 (but using the Xiaomi.EU version), used Magisk 20.1, also no root.
so, I used Magisk 20.0, and it works!
:victory:
How can I bypass this?
I would recommend to flash a custom ROM and flash Magisk, then enable Magisk's hide feature to pass SafetyNet certification again.
Not sure if Magisk can also be flashed on top of stock MIUI, maybe some expert can answer this.
