Have you solved your problem?
If not, Install the latest official firmware (be careful on choosing the right version. You can check the version of the tablet by looking at the back of it. If it says something like VI30H***V3****** click on the first link. If it says something like VI30D***V1****** or VI30D***V2****** click on the second one ).
VI30 Dual Core V4.2.2H Firmware: only support V3A version
Download:
http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=4009538916&uk=389436537
VI30 Dual Core V4.2.2D Firmware: only support V1~V2 version
Download:
http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=2486674113&uk=389436537
To flash it, use the software included in the archive. The instruction are in Chinese but are easy to translate using google translator.
Make sure you use a 32bit OS (WIN7 or XP) and to unplug all the USB devices connected to the computer (mouse and keyboard included) before you flash it. Remember also to disable antivirus and firewall.
Hope it helps :good:
I am planning to buy one of these tablets to tinker with. After some searching, I found the following rom alternatives:
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum...-firmware-version-1-04-test-version-20130723/
http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/91121-tempestu39gt-roms-v0001/
http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/89434-custom-firmware-from-4pda-based-on-stock-104/
Do you know of any other worthwhile rom to try out, or are these three all that's available?
Anyone?

thanks for sharing, gonna try the TempestU39GT
There's also 1.05 multiwindow rom that some say is better than stock 1.04, download is here :
rom
Do not buy the Cube U39GT-3G version of this tablet, I ordered one from http://www.cube-tablet.com and it came with a wrong IMEI number. I cannot use any SIM data card because of this with this tablet.
I bought the Wifi version, so I am not in danger. Thanks for the warning though, it certainly speaks of extremely crappy QA.
racht: anytime, and thank you for the link to 1.5.
It seems like another rom might be on the works:
http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?8204-Are-there-any-worthwhile-roms-for-the-Cube-U39GT
Apparently it will be based on stock 1.04 instead of 1.05, but if it comes to completion it might be worth it to try it out.

ROM has been uploaded yesterday but the dev doesn't own a U39GT. So anyone willing to test can do it now
I can't believe that slipped by me. Thanks for the heads-up. :good:
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum...2-custom-root-firmware-version-1-06-20131123/
This looks promising as well with 1.06 Cube firmware update and AOSP launcher.
New original Cube firmware 1.06 is downloadabl from official cube site.
http://www.51cube.com/ch/DownShow.asp?ID=205
I can recommend Google for translating the chinese, you can download the ROM from baidu which could take a few hours.
Awesome, thanks for the heads-up.
They require registration to access the downloads? Dammit, I refuse to create an account just to go and download something. Do you have an account there, locutus2000? If so, would you be willing to mirror it somewhere?
I was able to fix the IMEI issue, so it is safe to buy, again. The support from the vendor was not helpful, the wrong IMEI number is not only wrong for me but for all of the sold models. They all have 111111111111111 as IMEI number, no big deal with the MTK Droid Tools I was able to load a new IMEI, that was generated from an internet site. It works with the SIM cards now.
Important to know: the Cube 9 Talk with the 3G SIM card uses MediaTek MTK8389T CPU whereas the Cube 9 without the SIM card 3G feature uses a RockChip RK3188 CPU. The ROMs are not interchangeable.
So whatever issues you may have, it may be a completely different story for the person that owns the other chipset. Strange enough that Cube built two similar products with completely different hardware.
The Cube U39GT 3G ROM Version 1.03 for the 3G version can be found here:
http://www.51cube.com/ch/DownShow.asp?ID=206
If you have donwloaded and unpacked the firmware, you may end up with chinese folder names. Flash tool did not accept the scatter file when I tried to select it using these folder names.
To resolve this: Simply create a new folder name and copy/paste the ROM of the Cube to the new folder, the update should then work with the Flashtool. I have used Version 3.1328.0.183. The update takes a while so be patient. Worked with mine.

Thank you for important info, I have 3G version too. And how did you succeed root, can you give me any advice?
Received my Ulefone U7 yesterday and so far impressed.
Intention is to use in my car to replace the OEM satnav.
To do this, I need to enable the softkeys/navigation bar as the physical buttons will be behind the dash.
I've rooted OK and have so far tried what I thought would work..
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 in build.prop
Xposed and as many modules as I can find!
Play store apps like softkeys enabler
So far, no soft keys
To enable softkeys on my Samsung Note 10.1 2014 I had to install a custom ROM
Any advice welcome.
Do I need a custom ROM?
Thee Ulefone U7 is the same as other MTK6592 phones I believe, can I use one of those ROMs?

Hey bro i want to ask you if you have problems with the camera ? it keep flickering purple ?! for me
I have a Tronsmart PS7 incoming which is the same device as far as I can tell with different branding, I'll see what I can work out for you, I'll be working on a clockwork build for it eventually.
Have you considered rooting it and installing https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mrbimc.udn
there is another program https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smart.swkey
Button Savior I do not particularly like, because personally I think its ugly, but it is functional as far as I can tell when I have used it on a device with broken buttons, it is not strictly speaking a navbar, but it has home and back etc on it, so it may work without needing the rom to be navbar aware.
There is also a mod for xposed that allows you to complete navbar functions using swipes for example swipe left to right = home, swipe right to left = back, see more here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-gesture-navigation-multitouch-t2690180
There is a factory image here http://www.needrom.com/mobile/ulefone-u69u7/ it may be possible to edit that image to include the navbar
DO NOT FLASH IMAGES FOR OTHER PHONES
Yes the SoC is the same, but the button config, screen, camera, usb/otg functions hdmi output are likely to be different and so the driver sets will most likely not match and leave you with either a device with broken features or a device that will not even boot, so be VERY careful with that.

You device ps7, maybe OEM model, then check your phone's information firstly . setting->about devices->(1.Kernel version:? 2.Build number: ? ) ,or press volum- and power button together to get factory version details. hi david,
you can download the ulefone u7 firmare here: http://www.ule-fone.com/downloads/ulefone-7-0-inch/
before upgrade, you have to check the sensor types firstly,to get cameras 100% work..
s view
Hello,
I bought the 'created N7' that is like the ulefone u7/tronsmart ps7/luftco a onex/orientphone mega pro 7 etc..., and is sold by the factory with 4.4.2 installed
I found a bug in this product
The bug is about the bad working of the s-view window.
I link here a video where is possible to see how it should work:
http://youtu.be/lk1P9jziw64
The problem is that with the created N7 it is not possible to answer
to the calls without opening the flip cover:
when the N7 receive a call, the s-view window is not sensitive, so it
is not possible to answer
The sview with cover closed is sensitive only for a few seconds after the cover has ben closed, specifically only before the sview goes in standby (black screen)...after the standby, wakening the phone by a call or simply pressing the power button (without opening the cover) the sview seems not sensitive
These are two videos that shows the problem:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG6DMPL5ImE&feature=youtube_gdata_player
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-By6dqV3xrk&feature=youtube_gdata_player
This should be fixed, because is an important feature that is missing:
the phones like N7 of other brands (like ulefone u7/u69, luftco a-one
x, tronsmart ps7, orientphone mega pro 7) instead have a fully
functional s-view window
I already informed some created online sellers (kent wang, peter
yang... ) about this bug,
they told me that they will contact the engineer... but i have
not answer yet...i think they are not able to solve this problemi...
A seller told me that they send the leather case for free,
Its a gift , so i cannot ask them to fix this problem
Can someone help me to fix this problem?
I tried installing firmware of other device (luftco a onex 4.4.2)
But nothing has changed ...(and by the way i found that the luftco firmware
does not fit with my n7...the camera does not work with it)
Any hint?
Any suggestion?
I did some tests i found that actually the sview is sensitive also after the standby, but not enought to feel the touches through the screen...
in the settings there is an option 'increase touch sensitivity to allow the control through sview screen',
seems that this high sensitivity status is not reactivated if the cover is not opened after the phone goes to standby...
How can i fix this problem? perhaps some fix on touch drivers is needed?
Please help me!
Thank you!

As the title says, these are for Lenovo P780 Chinese version with 4Gb ROM, and model 2013 (not the new 2014). I don't have other versions of the phone and so I can't offer solutions for them.
All these are all built by me from source, tested and are working very well.

In addition I'm offering the stock kitkat recovery (from readback the kitkat firmware), which seems to be a modified version of miui recovery, for those people who need it.
Download it here.
Also there is a zip for install Aroma File Manager. Download AromaFM_installer.zip and flash it as it is in recovery - it will install aroma file manager for my CWM modded and CTR recoveries (both jb and kk).
Aroma installer is attached to this post.

I need more feedback to remove version (year and board) compatibility. If more users test these in different P780 versions and found they're working I can delete the year (2013) and board (CN/ROW) compatibility, and I will call it universal. But now, even I see many downloads, there isn't much feedback. Also, judging after number of Thanks, I can presume it's not working for most of them, otherwise I can't understand why they can't come back to say thanks for someone's work they're using, except if they are rude; but I think xda users are well educated people and this is not the case.
PS: If it's not working for a specific P780 version, then any of you post here a stock boot and recovery image, and the dumchar_info content from phone, and I can adapt it to that version too.

Thanks, I'm a "he", a man , but you don't need to write that so big. I prefer to either delete those messages or let them in normal letters. I don't want to force anyone to do what they don't want to do. I wrote that post because, as I said, the feedback is very important, and the thanks meter per total is not important, but for a specific thread or post it will show me how well is the resource I posted.

CWM:
Sir i Prefer Your CWM Because its a Combo Of NVRAM-Uboot-Support & Up-to-date-Pure-CWM, Which i Can't Find Anywhere Else...
BTW Last Night After Checking TWRP Sources, i Discovered a Hack To Fool TWRP For Finding Serial Number Of The Device... Here i Saw TWRP Uses /proc/cpuinfo To Find The Device-Serial-Number...
According To /proc/cpunifo Of My Device
Serial Number = 0000000000000000 <=== Which is Wrong...
Here Comes The Tricky Part... i Thought if i Could Alter The Wrong Serial Number in "cpuinfo" File, And Replace it With Whatever Backup Path Name, This issue Can Be Resolved... So i Just Pulled The /proc/cpuinfo File And Replaced its Wrong Serial Number With My Backup Path Name... So The Final Version Of cpuinfo File Look Like This...
Processor : ARMv7 Processor rev 2 (v7l)
processor : 0
BogoMIPS : 2439.94
processor : 1
BogoMIPS : 2439.94
Features : swp half thumb fastmult vfp edsp thumbee neon vfpv3 tls vfpv4 idiva idivt
CPU implementer : 0x41
CPU architecture: 7
CPU variant : 0x0
CPU part : 0xc07
CPU revision : 2
Hardware : MT6589
Revision : 0000
Serial : My_Backups
i Just Placed This Modded cpuinfo File in The Root Directory Of Unpacked TWRP Ramdisk... Then i Opened Recovery Binary With Hexeditor And Replaced The /proc/cpuinfo String With My Dummy cpuinfo File Path /cpuinfo
This Way, TWRP Tries To Use My Modded /Ramdisk/cpuinfo File instead Of Original /proc/cpuinfo File
And it Worked i Admit its a Dirty Hack But Helpful For Those Who Don't Have Their Device Kernel Source Or Can't Compile Recovery For Other Reasons... i Know This Thread is Not Relevant To This Kind Of Stuff, But Don't Know Where Else To Share it...
Thanks For Your TWRPv2.8.5.0 i Am a Great Fan Of Your Work Because Of The Unique Features... Now i Will Port Your TWRP & CTR... Thanks A lot :highfive:

All the automatic and semi-automatic recovery porting tools work only for GB/JB/KK
Sadly the MT6580 kernel source was never leaked, so no compiling also.

I've hacked together a TWRP image for a FiGO "Virtue 2", 512MB, 8GB, MT6580, 5.1 but it is larger than the upload limit so I can not attach it for you. It seems to work with the possible exception thus far of not finding OTG storage, an issue which shall not keep me up at night. Installs, backs up, recovers ..... so far so good.

If you have the flash stuff for your factory build like I did it is probably a piece of cake, because I am pretty new at this sort of thing and if it can be screwed up I usually can find the way to do so. Took about an hour including thinking time before hitting the button. I was either brave or stupid and didn't even set up a virtual test first, but it works :cyclops: The Almighty must approve of my actions at some level.
Proceed with appropriate caution.
Hope that helps.

Hope that helps.

The lack of OTG support is indeed something of a shame, but at least this is something. Thanks for the tip mate!
EDIT: OK, so I managed to port TWRP to my device. Only problem is that I had to fiddle with the partitions, and for some reason there seems to be no other way to flip the screen back other than compiling another TWRP image or google my way through a compatible prebuilt by some kid online. I'll post my flipped-screen version ASAP when I get to compile that thing myself.
Sorry for the double-post, but here's the source-built port I made for inverted framebuffers:
https://github.com/huckleberrypie/android_device_alps_z6u030
I made it for clone devices in mind, but feel free to port or fork this in case you need to use this on your phone.

Bumping this one as I am also looking for a way to port TWRP to my Galaxy S7 clone. And yes, it seems that none of the recovery porting tools seem to work on my end either. :/
