Hi there! I have an MDA II and a Parrot CK-3000 (with sw ver. 3.13) carkit. I read about the outcoming of this sw and I decided to install it on my MDAII. But, after a correct installing procedure, it simply doesn't work: my carkit remains mute like a fish!!! I'm asking you, guys already use successfully this sw, a hand of help to solve my trouble (if possible). Note that I downloaded it from this
http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html
and I tried to follow all the instructions placed in there...
Thank you all!

Why not email the author, he is most helpful.
Had the same issue with the Parrot. My Plantronics headset works a treat, but not the Parrot.
I mailed the author who confirmed there are some problems and a new release will be needed.
As the author is doing this work unpaid and the functionality is so good, I can wait.
@ mrg2003
I send an e-mail some days ago but still had no response.
Anyway, I agree with IanF and I'll wait for the new release.
I wish I read this bulletin board more often.
Yes, I have exactly the same problem with the CK3000 (v3.13) and PBT. HBH-35 works a treat but CK3000 does not bond (XDA thinks it does but there is no handshaking and CK3000 repeats request to bond).
Back to basics again ...
Incidentally, does anyone know if Tobias plans to engineer a way to trigger Voice Command and take input from the car microphone for voice recognition? Would be the dogs and well worth a major donation ....
Cheers
I've had some problems with pocket bluetooth. I have emailed tobias as follows and am awaiting a reply. Was wondering if anyone has faced similar problems:
Tobias,
Thanks for all the hard work in getting these tools working. I have just bought an XDAII with the latest 1.60.00 ROM using the 1.10.00 radio version.
At the same time, I have a WIDCOMM bluetooth dongle on my PC which supports numerous profiles including the headset profile, which allows me to use the PC's speakers and mic as a 'headset' with the XDAII.
I set up the XDAII with the PC, using the built-in bluetooth bonding and pairing application and managed to get it all working fine with the PC using the speakers and the mic as the headset, with the phone automatically transferring the call to the PC when the 'Bluetooth Headset mode is enabled' shows on the today screen. Furthermore, activesync also seems to work fine too.
After installing Pocket Bluetooth Tools, the headset stops working. Before installing it, I unpaired the device by deleting it from the list of paired devices. After installation and going through the process of pairing the device again, it correctly gives me the option to choose the Serial Port, ActiveSync, Modem, and Headset profile. I select all of these and click on OK. Once this happens, my PC gives me a message saying that the XDAII has connected with the headset. However, this doesn’t happen once but goes into a continuous loop giving me notifications every 2-3 seconds that this is the case. Furthermore, when making a call to see if the voice has been transferred to the PC< this stops working and the XDAII's speaker and mic continue to be used. The only way to stop the constant loop of connections is to switch off the bluetooth radio on the XDAII. Furthermore, when deleting the pairing from the XDAII this constant loop continues.
Have you faced this issue previously, as I think it may be a bug. The only reason I installed pocket Bluetooth is that my current b.tooth headset is a Nokia HDW-30 that supports the handsfree profile and your documentation states that Pocket Bluetooth tools supports this profile.
Let me know if there is a fix for this.

maybe just because he doesn't answer
i wrote a very long report some days after the long awaited new version came out in april, but haven't got any reply. (maybe my email got lost - who knows ...)
i have exactly the same problems. i also have a parrot ck3000 (tried with firmware 3.11 and 3.13) and an mda2 with rom 1.6.00GER and extROM 1.60.07. the two devices pair, and sometime i can even select the "headphone profile" afterwards. i even managed to make it work ONCE, after several hours, of installing, reinstalling, pairing, reparing, ect, ect ...
what did work once was making calls. but after the first call came in, i could answer it, the caller could hear me, but i couldn't hear anything. this happened twice and then i just turned off bt and used the mobile as always.
as i'm using my mda in my car for work and not for fun this is no solution for me . i went back to the original bt stack that works quite well. i can make and take calls w/o any problems.
one thing i'd like to see changed (as soon as parrot and mda work together) is, that ALL calls are made via the handsfree, as, as long i'm in the car it HAVE TO use the handsfree by law (and it's much more comfortable anyway). it's not practicle to dial with the mobile, and then by pressing the green button on the parrot to move the call to the handsfree. but that's the only way you can do it when using speeddial.
another thing i desperately miss is a way to change the volume of the handsfree. i could do this using the volume slider of my nokia 6310, but volume stays all the same when using the mda. and it's just too low when doing higher speeds on the autobahn
of course voice dialing would be a great feature to have ... but it's not that necessary.
please don't get me wrong .. i'm don't want to be ungrateful as i'm not paying for this software - i just want to help ppl by saying that they are not alone with their problem and they should give up wasting their time and better wait for a new release....
and of course i'm very willing to PAY for that software as well as soon as it is any improvement over the original bt stack (for me of course. for most of you it already is)
maybe TOWA could say some words here. that would be really appreciated.
thanks anyway a lot to all ppl that spend their free time developing software and providing it to the comunity!!! thumbs up !
regards ize|man
Bluetooth tools and ROM 1.72
Does ROM version 1.72 require TOWA's bluetooth tools? In this ROM, there are options for COM port selection etc under Bluetooth settings and the clubimate site mentions bluetooth improvements. Anyone with this info?
other com settings then
Inbound COM port com4
outbound COM port com5
??
if so what are they?
Rudegar
You are right. Inbound 4, outbound 5. Likely required for GPS devices, if i am not mistaken

These are the ports for BT beaming, as I understand! (not for BT GPS).
For BT GPS you do not specifically need BTHTools anymore (since 1.66) because WM can install a BT GPS com at first bonding.
Something is different however (vs BTHTools) since with 1 application (Alturion) I can not get the BT GPS working anymore, which can also not be solved by still installing BTHTools!! (while I have no problems with my other application TT. Figure that out?!)
Ronald
I now have the same problem, the parrot ck3000 was working until I insatlle dthe bluetooth tools, and now it doesn't.
Its a shame I did not see this thread before
Will the 1.72 rom work with both parrot and my emtac bluetooth gps?
Cheers

I think it will still work!
With my working application (TT3) I see the GPS on COM5 (installed by WM) + on COM7 (installed by BTHTools) + on the BT/SIRF interface!
If I uninstall BTHTools I only loose the selection for COM7. The other two selections still work!
Of course you must have acknowledged the WM com installation with first bonding (in any case for the serial operation)! My BT/SIRF connection always works in TT3 regardless of WM/BTHTools installation of serial ports.

I'm also having that strange problem with the parrot CK3000. I did install the previous version of BT but I don't see any difference with or without BT. But when I de-install and want to go back to the original state, the same problem persist. Is there any way to download anyware the original Bluetooth stack without re-install everything (and loosing all my settings and software)?
Thanks for helping out.
Frank.
Okay,
So the new version of Bluetooth Tools has handsfree profiles support now as well as headset profiles.
Does this mean that the XDAII can now be used with any bluetooth carkit?
In theory, but I've not been able to get my M1000 working with the latest Nokia handsfree unit.
Waht version of BT are we talking about? I tried a version a couple of weeks ago, but it cannot hanlde a parrot handsfree kit and a plantronicsx headset at the same time. So I de-installed BT.
Hi Mates,
I don't understand anything anymore. I downloaded the 1.0.1.2 version of Bluetooth tools on the following website, http://www.angeltowns.com, but it simply does'nt work with my Nokia carkit Cark112. There is something about it cause I don't even get the "icon screen" while connecting with the car kit but I get it, this bloody icon screen I mean, while connecting with a Nokia 6310i phone.
Do I do something wrong?? Could someone help??
Thanks and greetings to everyone

I have searched across all the forums and have noted that the Hermes does not pair with a Cars built in blue-tooth radio allowing sound through the built-in speakers.
Does anyone have an update to this issue or is it just a case that WM6/Hermes and integral vehicle bluetooth simply do not work.
I have tried upteen ROM updates to no avail. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. BTW I have paired the brand new car (Fiat) successfully with a Nokia 5300, XDA Exec (WM6.1) and XDA IIi (WM2003)
Thank you all in anticipation.

Pairing a Hermes with a Bluetooth Car Kit is certainly possible, and indeed routine. I have successfully paired with my two Ford cars, with a variety of WM5, WM6 and WM6.1 ROMs.
I merely followed the usual steps to set up a partnership, and ensured that the partnership was set as 'Hands Free' on the final page of the setup process.
So my experience is - no dramas, and I can't see why you are having problems. The car is, after all, just acting as a Bluetooth headset.
Transfer of contacts to your Car Kit is a bit more problamatical, as you have to set up Bluetooth Sim Access Protocol (BT SAP), to give the car, as it says, access to your sim card.
Hi and thanks for the response.
I have no problem pairing the hermes and it reads all my contact information and does everything I would expect save for the sound; I don't get any sound from the cars speakers and yet it all works perfectly with other makes/models of phone/pda.
I suppose the problem would be easier to solve if none of it worked but it does. I watch the car screen as it tells me I am making a phone call from my address book and I can see calls coming in but I cannot use the microphone on the PDA nor hear anything via the pda or the car's speakers. The XDA Exec (WM6) Nokia 5300 and XDAIIi (WM2003) work flawlessly (I borrowed those from my friends).
Thanks once again.

291,
I've had the same problem...
But found this program... From JetWare Mobile - Its not free but there's a trial period to at least see if this fixes your problem...
http://www.jetwaremobile.com
Now My bluetooth on phone and car works flawlessly, including: Music connection (can play Mp3's from phone and contacts loaded to the car stereo) I was even able to get Voice Commander to work through the car stereo but could not get announcements to work (a known issue with VC 1.6)
Look at this post, may help...

Hermes with RT4 system
I have got th esame problems with my hermes and my Jumpy with RT4 and bluetooth connection. I can drive my hermes, make a call by the way of the RT4 but speakers and mic are out. The only solutions to make them working is to make call by my hermes ans after RT4 working good and for and incoming call, accept it by the way of my Hermes. With this solution, I can ear ans speak unsing bluetooth system. If some one can help me, thank a lot...
I have a Pioneer AVH-4100 car in-dash Multimedia system + CD-BTB200 Bluetooth adapter! Devices are paired but i can't seem to do the following:
1- Dial numbers
2- Access phonebook
3- Voice recognition
3- Receive names in incoming calls
Everything else works fine, but unfortunately the most important features doesn't..
I wish JETware was compatible with the HD2..
Any idea what to do?
thx..
Hello,
I've got the 5900P but also with the BT module you mention,
In fact the BT module of the radio doesn't really work that interactive, in fact it can't read the phone, so you have to work the other way around,
This means you first have to pair the phone, than you have to upload all your numbers from your phone to your car radio, I know, it's annoying, hard to keep up to date and everytime you flash (daily in my case) you have to re-pair and upload them again... So this last part I'm not doing anymore, on top of that it's limited to 300 nrs, the radio that is, and my hd has 450, so can't do them all...
this answers question 1-2 and 4, the voice recognition I never use, I keep my phone in a cradle next to the radio and use it like this...
Regards,
Tom

Thanks allot for this valuable info, i'll try at as soon as i can..
Regarding the "Dialing number" feature.. I want to dial using the on screen dial pad but i don't see it.. If i load up the contacts will i be able to see a dial pad?
Most appreciated..
good to know. I have the pioneer avh3100dvd and I just slave it with a 3.5mm to the front connector. I have thought about getting the adapter but was worried it wouldn't work.
I tried to upload the contacts but it says on the phone that there is no support, I can't figure out how to work around this.. I only have a "Send" & "End" on the screen. The screen also shows Battery and signal status. Nothing else..
I would really like to sort out this issue..
Okay this is what I've been wondering...is there anyway to use an Android phone as a bluetooth headset for the Galaxy Tab (or any Android tablet for that matter)? im planning on getting T-Mobile's prepaid Android 2.2 phone and i want to keep my minute usage down by using Google Voice on the tablet. And since they both have bluetooth capabilities it should be possible to use it in this manner, right? I do not want to use one of those hideous, uncomfortable bluetooth headsets because im already going to have a bluetooth device (the phone) with me that im more comfortable using. Is there any way to do this or an app that enables this functionality?
Isn't that like call forwarding or something?
no because your not forwarding your calls, your handling the call over bluetooth. this is what im talking about: people will call my tablet's Google Voice number, and I will be able to use my phone as a bluetooth headset for the tablet to take the call
its the same concept as bluetooth headsets today:
-you get a bluetooth headset
-you pair the headset with your phone
-you take calls on your phone but talk and listen through your bluetooth headset
the way im trying to do this is:
-you get a bluetooth-capable phone
-you pair the phone with your tablet
-you take calls on your tablet but talk and listen through your bluetooth phone
since the phone already has everything that a bluetooth headset has--microphone, earpiece, bluetooth radio-- it should be able to pair with the tablet and work in the same manner as a regular bluetooth headset
yes!
Im looking thos for months my friend. But no one seems to know anything. We are talkin for clever and serius programming so it is not so easy to find sonething.
Profile
I have been looking to do the same thing with my Samsung tab. Instead of walking around stucked to my face.
Yes I could use a BT headset, but it won't dial out. There is a specific Bluetooth profile to do this.
i don't know much about this, but wouldn't the phone would need the bluetooth protocol that a headset uses? someone would have to make a program that would allow the phone to be used as a headset, but then also decide what gets priority if the phone needs to also access the mic or earpiece when you are on a call...
i don't mind simply using a bluetooth - that is more comfortable and flexible than me holding a phone in one hand.
I am seekung solution too.
I'm looking for a solution to this as well. But a different application.
using a tablet as a car-computer.
leave phone in pocket. take and view phone calls though tablet, which is mounted to dash, which is routed to the car audio system with strategically placed microphone built into dash.
I'm surprised no one has made this... seems like something many would be after.
looking for the same here :-(
I want to buy a cheap tablet to leave in the car and use as a gps.
I'd like it to being able to be connected to my phone and work as a bluetooth hands free of sorts.
anyone has 2 android devices to try and connected and see what happens?
Me too - so i'm posting here to show that there is really demand for solution

The Phone app apk is there but it doesn't work Honeycomb, Google Voice also FCs. I think it's because Google knows it would take away from the Android Phones and that would piss off the carriers.
Why should it take people away from carriers? Me want to use my communicator as phone №2, so i could not take from my pocket the first one.

Because you could Google Voice, Skype, etc for a lot cheaper than a carrier.
same same, would be great solution to using tab as a phone
What we are seeking is the Bluetooth HFP (Hands-Free Protocol) (ver. 1.5) HF Profile. Many newer OEM car head-units support the HFP hands-free (HF) mode while most all Android devices and tablets support the audio gateway (AG) mode only.
I am not a developer but I would suspect that getting the AG portion of HFP to work would require changes to the BT drivers. If anyone has the HF mode working on an Android device, please chime in!

Do any devs have ideas? This would make tons of tablet owners happy. In an ideal world, we would be able to keep an Android phone in our pocket, and send/receive texts on the tablet through our phone carrier, as well as make and receive calls using our tablets as a Bluetooth speaker phone. This marriage of tablet to phone would be awesome, and generate a lot of money and interest in the app market.
Does anyone know if there has been any progress on using a phone as a bluetooth headset for a tablet? I am trying to figure out how to do this with a samsung galaxy gio and a samsung galaxy tab 7.

This is the exact solution I am looking for! Come on developers of the world, how hard can it be!
So is the problem with this that Android doesn't support the necessary profiles in its bluetooth stack? Is there any way to add the profiles ourselves?
It would be nice if a developer would look into this.
