How? I tried roehsoft ram expander. Nothing changed. Pls help. By running android 11 fluid os [awesome] free ram is now not much.

no we can't, because a10 only have 2gb physical ram. if you have problem like crashing sometimes when opening some apps. you can try increase swappines from 160 to 200 or you can try downgrading your android :'3 *it's have smaller usage ram btw :'3

[Q] Reducing System(not user) Memory? and amount to keep free?

SAUROM with build.prop tweaks, nothing else flashed through CWM
Hi I noticed that when over about 525mb or RAM usage on our device it starts to increase launcher lag and general lag across:
GO Launcher
ADW Launcher
TW Launcher
I tried different CPU governers:
Smartass2
Ondemand
Power Save (dur dur dur)
And right after I turn it on within 5 mins this is my RAM:

http://www.box.com/s/6cc0ab0a29bd003e9dc6
Can I reduce the amount of memory the apps marked with RED use?
Can I remove the ones circled in GREEN safely by deleting the apk?
How much memory do we want to keep free at all times?
Thanks in advance!
fixed 2nd link sry
zeppelinrox who makes scripts told me to use less dalvik heap size and i tried it,,are phones are 128mb,,,i turned mine down to 64mb and it seems to run alot more smoother now,,,I've noticed both roms have 128mb which is too much and not needed for this device..That's why i keep my stock with only a overclocked kernel and just add my own build prop tweaks....

Thanks for the response. I will look for an app that can help me modify this and post back if it uses less memory.
memory optimizer root works for adjusting more aggressive settings it free too....

i just checked it out but actually going to roll with RAM Manager Free or RAM Manager Pro seems awesome, thanks for your help as you were the only one that replied lol.

Best way to clear up RAM?

I downloaded some apps to optimize free ram, but was just wondering what the best way was to always have the ram free?
free ram ist wastet ram.. because its better to have full Ram as you have full CPU usage to open apps (if they are not prebootet)
and if you got no root access, you cant clear out the Ram for long time because of autorecievers from the app, and Auto Task Killer just kill the juice of Battery..
full Ram is good Ram

[Q] Why the OS uses so much RAM (Not the cache)?

[Q] Why the OS uses so much RAM (Not the cache)?
I know android is caching many apps in RAM for performance, but the actual size of the cache is quite small (less than 200 MB with some apps active). I also know that 200 MB are used for kernel and stuff like that ( for example, the user have 800 MB not 1 GB) but where is used the other RAM. In the first screen shot you can see a red highlight - gor what is that RAM used if not for apps or cache? Aren't the 200 MB unavailable RAM enough? (see the second screen shot).
And why simple apps like opera browser use so much resources? Most android apps use as much resources as desktop counterparts but have very crippled functionality (firefox for android use as much RAM but it doesn't have as many features). On dumb phone ( nokia s40) opera mini would run fine with just 2 MB RAM - not 200 (seriously) and render pages as fast as the sgs3 (but with a cpu with less than 400 MHz and outdated architecture) and surpringly similar features and UI (not crippled even more). Symbian (for example) apps didn't used so much resources but had mostly the same features.
And sorry for the long post!

LMK (low memory killer) recommendations for 3GB RAM device ?

Hi there,
i have a Oppo Find7s, which is a 3GB RAM device, and i'm on a Marshmallow ROM. Unfortunately Marshmallow RAM management is aggressive.
So many apps are reloaded again if the are accessed. Also there is always around 800MB free RAM. I thought on Android(Linux) free RAM is bad Ram:
I played around with predefinded LMK values (Kernel auditor) but i'm not very satisfied with the result.
Does anyone have good LMK values for a 3 GB RAM device. I think the LMK values have to be manually adjusted.
Thanks .....

ROM recommendations for light resource utilization

Hi.
can anyone recommend me a stable ROM with minimal RAM footprint for mido? Stock Android takes at least 1GB RAM in all cases (out of my 3.5GB), though in usual cases it's more like 2GB, leaving me with only 1.5GB free mem for applications.
Thanks,

If you want aggressive RAM management, you should go back to MIUI
If the ROM has either LineageOS Privacy feature or AppOps from AospEX, you can limit the app's background processes
Android "System" usually occupy 1-1.2 GB of Ram. You cant just limit that.
Besides, what are you worrying about when you have less RAM as usual. Does it lag or random app crashes?

I don't need aggressive RAM management, just that the base OS doesn't need as much as 1GB. Desktop system with Debian Stretch and all its corresponding modules and libraries with KDE 3.5 doesn't require even half of that.
No I don't experience any crashes, but I need the extra RAM for ramdisk and it doesn't help when the base OS is so needy

Looks promising, I'll try that out, thanks!
Just get weekly build not "Stable" because it's old. Latest is v1.12

Slim (also AOSP-CAF rom) have less to none customizations. Makin it even lighter compare to others.
