Connected 3.5mm microphone volume (gain) drops - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Hello.
I've bought a new lavalier microphone to use with my Redmi Note 4 (mido),specifically Boya BY-M1 Pro and the Droidcam OBS app. The first time I used it everything was great. However, a few days later I experienced issues with it. When I speak/sing loudly (around -10 dB), recording volume (gain) drops to -20dB and after a few seconds it rises again back at the whatever volume level I'm speaking/singing.
I tested the same scenario with my phone's recording app to see if Droidcam was at fault, but the recording app also had this issue.
I am sure that the microphone isn't at fault since it works as expected when connected to my computer or my iPhone., so either the Redmi Note 4 is at fault or the custom ROM I'm using.
Initially I was using LineageOS 18.1 UNOFFICIAL (by zeelog), so I tried switching to another ROM if this was at fault. Unfortunately, I tried Pixel Experience Plus 11 but this issue persisted.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any setting concerning the microphone, specifically microphones/headsets connected via 3.5mm jack.
I suppose that this bug has to do with somekind of auto-gain control.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Hissing/ 'SSSS' sound from Redmi Note 3 Speaker and When Connected to Amplifiers

Hey Guys.
I'm creating this thread since I did not find any other old thread about this issue.
When a song or any audio output is done through the Redmi Note 3's Speaker or when it is connected to a Amplifier like a car stereo then there's an Awkward ssssss or Hissing sound.
I've used Two Different models of the Redmi Note 3 thanks to Amazon and both of them have this.
It has a very very low possibility of hardware error.
When a song is played at 1/7 of the total volume, put your ear near the device speaker and listen carefully. You might notice a weird hissing sound. It goes away when there is deep and strong bass but is there lots of times.
Using an amplifier it is most noticeable at lower volumes.
I hope you people understand.

I too faced that situation... But in my case..
The 3.5 mm jack is broken..
I mean.. There's no problem with the phone.. But in sound system I use...
Have you checked this problem with other speakers ...??

Hey,
I actually have noticed this when I played music in my Car and also from the phone's Speaker itself!
Both when the volume is Very Low....
I know it's not a problem with my piece because I've checked with many RN3 Users and same issue is being detected there too.
My RN3 is new and in superb Condition and so are the other Appliances like the Car Stereo I used.
Even then this Hiss sound is there.
I wonder of its a problem with the Chipset altogether since there isn't a sound/music chip in it...
I hope it's a software issue and gets resolved fast...
When recording sound from the speaker output yes the sound is levied towards the high end, this is probably what causes the hissing sound in your amplifier since it can't properly amplify that freq or something along those lines, I'm not too sure since I'm no sound engineer but that's just my 50 cent.
Edit
Dumb me, your amplifier is probably a 3.5mm headphone Jack right? If so then there shouldn't be this issue and my above statement wouldn't apply ;-;
I noticed this when using Viper Audio. There was a small but noticeable hissing in the left earphone. It went away when I turned off playback gain control.
Maybe check if any equalisers or headphone effects are on and turn them off?

I had checked everything possible. I even did now.
No part of the settings, equalizer, audio effects could fix it....
And where's the option you're talking about for playback gain control? I'm still unrooted with a locked bootloader on MIUI V7.2.3.0LHOMIDA
The sound is there in both speakers in my case. I'm not using anything other than the stock music application and some great songs on an amplifier I.e. Cars stereo
Anybody has got the solution? I am also facing same issue ??

Not till now.
I've bought this Bluetooth audio adaptor that serves my purpose in the car.
Funnily nobody at Mi noticed this.
I'll do a bug report highlighting this issue.
Everyone else plase do too!

I have also dropped them a mail. Will also report bug. Thank you for your solution but I'll probably have to wait as my car system does not support Bluetooth.

Even mine didn't support Bluetooth.
If your Stereo supports USB and Aux in, you can also go for the adapter since it only needs those two.
USB for Power and Aux In for the Music.

I had a similar problem. Whenever I connected my headphones to my Redmi Note 3, there would be a weird hissing noise at low volumes especially. At higher volumes, it would reduce. I found a fix to this on Reddit, but you need to be rooted.

Looks like a legacy. We are well into 2017 and the issue still exists. I bought my RN3 a couple of weeks ago and noticed the hissing on the third day of use. I just have been ignoring it. After all, it's a Chinese phone. I bought it and I have to live with it.
Good afternoon! The solution for problems with Redmi Note 3 and AUX is the following (solves the problem of correct detection and noise during playback): it is necessary to solder or otherwise connect resistors with a rating of 10 ohms between the common "0" wire and the left and right channel wires (I did 17 Ohm , did 10 ohms - both options work).
After you make this cable, the sequence of actions is as follows: the cable is first inserted into the smartphone, wait for the icon to appear with the headphones, and then insert into the AUX-input of the radio or audio system.

Poco F1 - Earphone issue

Hey, did anyone facing issue with audio on headphone, it not low or distorted but sometimes it just skips audio of 1/2 seconds.
Also i found very strange issue, when I was riding my bike and listening to songs with headphone suddenly poco started changing songs, when I stopped my bike and checked it was working fine. It took me 2 days to find the root cause and the reason was when air falls on my mic Poco treats it as double tap of mic button. I have tested it with Mi basic headphones and JBL also I had faced touch issues. Check this on your device too.
BDW it was replaced device .
Let me know anyone who have purchased Poco after 11-Sept is facing any kind of issues?

Headphone jack Bug

So today while using my phone to play music on my sound system with the audio jack I unplugged it to receive a call on for me not to hear anything and found out I still shows the headphone jack icon and my device still thinks the head phone jack is connected permanent ....I've googled different solutions but none seem to work ....I've even tried to flash another ROM but to no effect....please what should I do
ROMixel experience 8.1
Device:Redmi note 4 global variety
It will be a hardware issue.
The switch on the headphone socket that detects the presence of the plug is either faulty, stuck, or clogged with debris.
You could try plugging and unplugging repeatedly to see if that fixes it.
If it needs replacing you could most likely get one from Aliexpress and follow a YouTube clip that will show you how to replace it.

I faced same problem. I come up with 3 Solutions.
1. Try plugging and unplugging headphones /earphones until headphone icon removed. Play and song and try it.
2. Stay headphones /earphones plug in and use it. It automatically fixes sometimes
3. This one will definitely fixes if first two fails. Use Audio Router app from playstore. Disable your Audio Jack and Eureka speakers will work.

No audio at all on my Redmi Note 4 MTK (Speakers/Headphone/Mic doesn't work)

Hello all, I hope I'm writing this to the correct section; if not please let me know.
I have a Redmi Note 4, MTK variant. 2 days ago it randomly stopped producing audio.
Speakers doesn't work, when I put my headphones the phone recognizes it but again, no sound. When someone calls it doesn't ring and it records blank on voice recorder.
What I've noticed is; sometimes instead of getting audio I get static noise from speakers/headphones.
And yesterday I've moved my charging cable left and right and I barely got audio working for a few seconds alongside a loud noise. (Which also ruined my charging socket sadlol)
If I connect to my TV via Wi-Fi, I get sounds though.
I tried resetting my phone, installing a new ROM, flashing to stock files; always same result.
I went to the service today (some random tech place, they aren't officially in my country), they fixed the charging port but said they can't fix audio.
What can I try to fix it, or at least bypass? Because even a Pixel 3A is $700 in my country, and I'm stuck few months with this phone.
Thanks.
Edit: Apparently there's no fix. Used it for a few months with a Bluetooth headset, then had to buy a new phone.

Earphone Plug in Problem in Poco

I tried almost every big brand earphones in my poco f1 but whenever i connect a earphone it don't show mic sign, voice calls are just fine but when i switched to video call it's automatic switch to speaker than i have to press earphone on a specific place than mic work.
Does someone know what is the problem software or earphone jack.
Definitely a hardware problem in my opinion.
Try insert the earphones halfway and see if they trigger the mic in VC.
Try custom rom cause nowadays stock isnt that good in my opinion ! Using pixel since an year and it's soo good
