Hello guys. Just bought this phone yesterday and today is asking me to upgrade to Miui 12 (global)
As my primary concern with the phone is battery lasting, i would like to know how's that version as today compared to v11.
It's good to do the upgrade? What are the loses? I read something about the ability of install from local.
Also, the phone came with a SIM tray with one slot covered. Is it possible to activate dual sim?

Hi,
I have purchased a 1 week old Hero (well a T-Mobile G2 Touch) that I will be unlocking. I also want to upgrade the firmware to the most upto date version. I feel more comfortable with upgrading it to the latest t-mobile version of the rom and seeing what its like, i'm sure i'll get bored and try out a custom rom later but for now i want to play with it with the official rom. Several people have told me that I need to unlock the phone and that it doesnt matter whether i do this before or after I upgrade the rom.
But the question is, I will be using this with my 3 sim in the UK, will the phone know my settings or will i need to input these manually, things like internet settings?
Many thanks
Simon

Make sure the device can use a usim card if you want to use it with 3
i hadnt even considered if it would take a usim - surely it does because the hardware is identical to a hero, also i'm sure i've read other people using a t mobile g2 on 3
I have a Verizon Galaxy Note 2 (that I was going to sell) but decided just to use it for app development via Eclipse IDE. It has my old Verizon SIM.
Has anyone used the Note 2 without the SIM via Eclipse? Do I need to have that old SIM in to ensure when or rather if ever, 4.4.2 OS is released I can get the update?
We all know how bad Verizon can be so I wonder if my phone is NOT active (with or without the old SIM) if it will ever get any updates OTA.
My biggest concern is keeping that old SIM in this non active phone and screwing up my active service/phone.
I know this is not related to ROM dev but I thought I would try the greatest dev community ever .....
So I recently bought my redmi note 3 SD and had a great time with it. But then I decided I should update my software and suddenly I have no signal and cant make any calls. Im using only 1 sim card and phone can see it but there's no service. I though the miui might be a problem so I installed Resurrection Remix but it looks like the problem is still there. When I typed in *#*#4636#*#* and tried to change band to european it didn't let me do that. Anyone know how to solve this problem? My sim card works okay on the other phones and it was working okay on this one before trying different firmware.
im facing the same problem i just recently bought it from aliexpress arrived today, and i haven't changed or updated but im getting no service, when im trying to dial a number and it says Radio Off.To place a call, please turn off airplane mode off but airplane mode is off.Any help
any help on this pls im on V7.3.2.0.LHOMIDD Global stable version
Try switching the phone off, removing sim, put a sim in slot 2, power on and you should have service in slot 2. Power down insert another sim in slot 1 (keep sim in slot 2), power on and you should have service in both. That's what I have to do sometimes and not sure why it works that way.
eh thnx for replay i updated to miui 8 and the problem was fixed
Hey guys,
I'm having a bit of a problem and I was hoping you could help me solve it. My normal phone (a Nexus 5X) recently broke down (which is another problem for another thread) so I'm having to use a Moto E that my dad brought back from India (just a quick rundown on its history: we bought the international version on Amazon from the US and shipped it directly to India; it stayed there for a couple of years until my dad went there and got my family there a new one and brought this one back). Now the main problem is that it won't work my T-Mobile SIM card and when I say won't work, I mean it straight up does not recognize it's in the phone. This is a really major inconvenience as I have to communicate with my parents a lot (this isn't about not being able to use Snapchat or whatever) so I really need to find a fix for this until my 5X comes back (which could take up to a month according to the LG support people). Any solutions?
P.S. The phone came to me originally with Jellybean 4.4.2 which I then upgraded to Lollipop 5.1.1 which I hoped would solve the SIM problem. It didn't so I rooted and installed a Cyanogenmod 14.1 build which I found here on XDA. This still hasn't solved my problem, ergo me writing this post.
Try flashing radio files. Here is the link
http://www.gammerson.com/2015/12/fix-sim-card-not-detected-in-cm13-moto.html
Hope this resolve ur problem.:fingers-crossed:
Thanks for the radio files but unfortunately, they didn't work. I flashed the XT1021 US and XT1021 EU radios, the XT1022 US radio, and the XT1023 US radio, but none of them solved the problem. I'm not so sure it's a software problem anymore. On a hunch, I took the old India SIM card (which is Airtel by the way) that came with it and put it back in and lo and behold, it picked up a signal. I turned it off, took out the India SIM, and put the T-Mobile one back in and it was back to not recognizing it. Is there some physical difference between US and India SIM cards that causes the Moto E not to pick up the US SIM card? I couldn't spot any differences in dimensions of the gold plated contact but then again, it might be to small for me to see. My dad hasn't had this problem with his US Moto X which he took to India and used with an Indian SIM card. If this really is a hardware problem, then I don't think there is much else I can do but I'm hoping you guys have some other solutions.

Airtel sim is gsm sim I think T-Mobile sim is cdma
If I'm right use gsm sim
That makes sense. Is there anyway to make my T-Mobile SIM gsm temporarily or is that a hard wired feature of SIM cards? I don't want to change it permanently or buy a new one because, as I said before, this is a temporary phone for a month at the most and I'm just a broke college student. If there isn't I'll just have to figure something else out until then.
Dear Community , I’ve just bought a P9000 smartphone and I’d like to ask a question: as far as I know this dual SIM phone can not support 4G (or even 3G) when both SIM cards are inserted but to me the only way to have 3G or 4G capabilities is to insert the SIM card in slot 1 (the outer one, the same slot of t-flash memory expansion)… Is this behaviour normal? I thought that , with a single SIM card inserted, didn’t matter which slot was used to get 3G or 4G working on phone, and this is a severe issue because if you want 3G/4G capabilities you have to use slot 1 and therefore no more t-flash into the phone… Please, could you help me? I tried with engineering mode (BSPTelephonyDevTool) but no joy at all... Thanks in advance, best regards.
I have always had my sim (Three UK) in slot 2 as I use a 60GB SD card and I have had no problem getting 4G tbh. Altho the 4G connection was never really as fast as I expected & very ocassionally it wouldnt attched to a 4G connection in an area with 4G (but this was kinda very very rare)
Sorry I dont have a solution to your issue, but on a side note I have just installed the Andriod 7 Beta to test it out and I can confirm that the 4G is outstanding on that, even the 3G is way faster with a much much better signal - better than I have ever experienced on any other ROM to date. (same with the GPS, its spot on)
What network are you on & what Stock ROM (I'm assuming your using stock with you just buying it) are you using? the latest Stock?
Thanks for prompt reply, to be honest the phone belongs to my sister... Anyway, the P9000 is on TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile) network operator and android version is Marshmallow 6.0. At the moment the issue still remains, I think that she'll be waiting for Nougat 7.0 to come on OTA...
