TZ back with another video, this time i am looking at alternative smartphones for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, due to battery explosions, 2 recalls and major safety concerns the Note 7 has finally been killed off and production stopped completely. Due to a mandatory recall i have returned my Note 7 and many of you are in the same position as me, what now? Well all Note 7 owners know that no other phone can compete for features so lets look at the best of the rest. What are you replacing your Note 7 with? LG V20? Moto Z, Pixel XL? iPhone 7 Plus? Nexus 6P? Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge? Honor Note 8? Chinese phones like Xiaomi? OnePlus 3? HTC 10? Note 5? What did you pick and why?

Mi Pad 1 - 05/14
Mi Pad 2 - 11/15
Mi Pad 3 - 04/17
Mi Pad 4 - 06/18
Release cycle seems to be between 14-18months. The Mi Pad 4 was announced 06/18 and it has been almost 18mo since then so a Mi Pad 5 coming soon?

It appears to be both are end of life. They made a statement suggesting that its due to the lack of demand for the product.

Barely no one wants Android tablets.
yeah...... that's why I had to wait 3 months to get mine....
I have not heard anyting about new mi pad, but I read news about new new Redmi pad. We will see new pads in Redmi line only , I think.
It has a sense. Mi pad 4 was released with android 8 and died with android 8. The not important devices without any android upgrades will be moved to redmi brand.

I'm very much hoping there's an 8-inch model of the Mi Pad 5. I can't bear to think that we won't ever see a more powerful 8" tablet than the Mi Pad 4 :'(
IMHO, (Android) tablets are the best for media consumption and heavy reading.
I've had two Asus, one (pricey) LG, and the Mi Pad 4 and I like them very much.
What I don't like is to get expensive, outdated and/or unwieldy hardware, and that's why I don't care for low-rez displays, feeble processors and 10-inch form factors.
Granted, tablets tend to last much longer than smartphones but when companies say there's no demand for tablets, what they really mean is there's no demand they are willing to supply for the profit they want.
Build me a tablet with a FHD color e-ink display, medium to high processor, decent stereo speakers and long battery life, along with amenities like sd card slot, headphone jack and USB OTG and I'll reach for my wallet in a second....

I do not see a sense in it. I use android 11 on my mi pad 4. What can help? Android 12 firmware for mi pad 4. I do not want any new MIUI for this tablet.

Looks like the Mi Pad 5 is going to launch tomorrow. I've seen the specs on Geekbench and the look really good, snapdragon 870 and 120Hz display. I'm still happy with my Mi Pad 4 it's running great on Android 11 only thing I don't like about it is speakers on the bottom, would be nice to have a speaker on left and right while using it in landscape.
If I do get one I'll wait for a bit for the price to come down, I'm in no rush to get one.
How do you have android 11 on Mi Pad 4?
What's going on guys, I don't see much activity here. News on the device? I have made 2 posts about bands and nothing.
Maybe I'll switch to Opo 8, forums are way more active.
Don't worry news will come soon
of course oneplus has always been more developer friendly device, while xiaomi flagships not that much, especially mi 10 and mi 10 pro because of the price hike!
Hi All
I've had a Note 10 (CC9) for about a year with it and am still very pleased with it. I was wondering if anyone had upgraded to the 10T Ultra or Pro and can compare the two? I'm saving my pennies right now but can't decide. A faster processor is always nice, as is a bigger battery, but what about the cameras? That's the reason I bought this phone and haven't been dissapointed.
I see the Ultra has a periscope zoom, which i assume is continuously variable between 1x and 5x which is a brill feature but 48MP sensors? Seems to be going the wrong way!
The Pro has a 108MP main camera but no optical zoom.
After making the above comments, I'm happy to hear any corrections. I was wowed by the Mi 10 when I had a P30 pro, but am not so wowed by the 10T offerings.
Am i missing something?
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,
that's almost same decision what I'm thinking to make. Mi 10 Ultra seems no go for me because of price and connection bands availability. So thinking to sell my Mi Note 10 and get Mi 10T Pro (regular Mi 10 does not support 2 sims - what is available to get here locally). Reason of switching is because of faster cpu/gpu and video performance using filmicpro and to get 4k60. Also flat screen is more preferable for me. Besides Mi Note 10 is great device, haven't dissapointed through all this year.
Regarding the battery I would not expect to be better than Mi Note 10. After A10 and Miui 12 it works well, I forgot to check battery stats actually with this phone. Samsung S9+ and Mix 3 was much worse, really..
Camera wise actually Mi 10T Pro would be downgrade, if speaking about better ultrawide and 2x/3.7x cams from Mi Note 10. So please think about this making decision.
I'm still not decided actually, to get Mi 10T Pro or wait for next gen Mi 11 (which is 3-4 months close I think). If they use HMX sensor for new model, the wait is not worth, but I suspect it could be same sensor used in mi 10 Ultra + 48mpx imx586 for ultrawide.

I like the new design, maybe too weird for now but still looking good
I like the design, what I'm personally disappointed in, especially where they've made the 2 models so close in size, is that they didn't go larger on the Pro version... instead of 6.7"...go for the gusto... especially where is older folks, like to read our Newspaper subscription's on our phones...make it 6.9" like the possibly extinct, Note Plus...
Or you know what, lead instead of following, make the Pro version 7 inches...

Supply issues might be at work causing problems here. It's not just chips, it's everything that gets shipped to and from major ports overseas, and snowballs from there. I'm tempering my expectations for every new product everywhere.

I get the want big but at some point, You just have to get the hell off the phone and goto a lappy, tablet or DT. It's always a trade-off between readability and portability. I'm ok with portable.

What to expect from pixel 6, will it bring some new useful features?
Does Magisk work on the Pixel 6.
Just kidding... Lol
Google Pixel 6 is powered by the company’s new custom-built chip Google Tensor. i am waiting of october 19 for launch google pixel 6.
Crediblebh
i have had every pixel in the series. More recently my wife is now on the a series. She had the 3a and i just got her the 5a. I myself have the 5 but i only got the 5 because i had the 4 which was a great phone but i work in a job to forces me to wear a mask all day so i needed the fingerprint reader. I decided to go with the pixel 6 and not the pro for now. if i like the 6 and tensor is all they say it is then in a few months i will get a pro and give my wife the 6. and make the 5a a backup. It is always a good idea to have a backup. especially because i don't always have the money to put up to get a replacement right away.
Hey does anyone know what type of fingerprint reader is in the 6? Is it optical or ultra sonic? I assume optical

Is pixel 6 root procedure already out?
Hello all and thanks for all your great suggestions and ideas in advance. I am a Pixel 2 XL owner and recently I got the Pixel 6.
In the past in order to unlock the "hotspot" wireless tethering functionality all I needed to do was:
Root the device (Android 11 | Pixel 2 XL)
Edit the "net.tethering.noprovisioning=true"
Done,
Sure there is a need to install an editor e.g.; builddrop editor app, that will allow making the change on the Android 11 OS.
I come to the forum with the question, what will be the requirement for the new Pixel 6 with Android 12?
Thank you very much in advance.
