Is there a way to use the standard android hot spot widget instead of the ATT all access? The app will randomly turn off my hot post or reboot it to open settings. Most of the time i have to turn it off/on multiple time to make it setup with a password.

Anyone know how to make it work on TASKER on S3 without disabling password?
When I get home I want phone not to ask for password after 5 seconds after 'Screen off' [default anywhere else]
Instead I want it to automatically get changed from 5s to 20min - when connected to preferred/home network

I was just googling to find the same solution. My phone is encrypted in case my phone is lost, which seems to prevent me from clearing/disabling the password. I currently have the "Lock Automatically" timer set to 30 min so I don't constantly have to type in a password, but would love to be able to automatically change this value.
Hi all -
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 4G. 3g, 4g, WiFi all work fine during use.
My problem relates to 3g/4g ("mobile internet") turning off when the phone has spent >3 minutes in the lock screen.
I can get 3g/4g to turn back on by clicking the home button/power key and then also entering my pattern to pass the lock screen. But until I pass the lock screen, 3g/4g remain off.
The issue is that I want my 3g/4g to remain on (despite the battery drain) so that I can always receive Whatsapp messages, e-mails, notifications, etc.
Note: I am NOT writing to ask how to increase my sync frequency. The issue is that 3g/4g actually turn off (ie, 3g/4g logo disappears from the taskbar).
I am NOT running any powersaving apps, and Power Saving on my phone is NOT enabled. In my "Lock Screen Options", "Wake up in lock screen" IS checked.
Happy to provide more details if needed.
Thanks everyone!
Lazey
I have the same issue with my Lenovo S860 4.4.2. If someone knows the answer please post it.
Thank you.
Hi,
I'm looking for a screenlock app that will enable me to lock my phone (ie requires a password) when accessing from the lock screen.
However there is a catch. What I want is to be able to enable it with a simple activation, rather than having it on all the time, or enabling it through settings all the time. I find it annoying being on all the time, but it is useful to have at times.
I have have googled, but was unable to really find anything suitable.
Cheers
You can use a program called llama to automatically set your screen password (depending on location, time etc.) or maybe a password delay.

You can use llama or its similar app called "Tasker".
I have a Nexus 5 with Google Play Services v. 6.5.99 and I'm getting some strange behaviour with the Smart Lock feature.
When I initially used the Trusted Places feature, I noticed that when I drove away from my home, the lock function didn't work automatically. This is also happening on my husband's Nexus 6. I don't think this is right and believe the phone should lock when you move away from the unlock zone.
However, the main problem I'm having is that the phone won't lock when I turn off the Home toggle and have no customised places set up. I also deleted a work address in Google Maps and so this option is naturally greyed out in Smart Lock Trusted Places. At one point, I played around with adding my home as a customised place and have since deleted it. I also changed my home address in Google Maps to my parents' address so I could test it when I was at my own home to see if the phone would lock. Nothing seems to work.
The only way I can get the phone to lock now is to disable the whole Smart Lock feature in Trusted Agents, otherwise I have a phone which won't lock. The exception is after a reboot - I have to unlock it once and then the phone stays unlocked.
Because of this, I can no longer use the Face Unlock feature either.
I've read that some people are finding they have to unlock their phone when it should be unlocked already but it's worse if you have no Trusted Places set and the phone won't lock. Does anyone else have this problem?
I too have the same problem with my Nexus. Only way to enable lock for me was to disable smart lock or turn the Location service off
Glad it isn't just me. I set my parents address as a customised place and the behaviour seemed to be as it should be when I went there. It appears that the problem lies with the Home trusted place.
I have the same problem although I've never used trusted places. I have a smartwatch setup as a trusted device, phone is a Nexus 6 rooted
Hello All,
Im not sure if there is a better place to put this but I am using a Galaxy Tab SM-T320 and I am trying to do the following:
1-Have the device Stay on 24/7 and turn back on if power outage - nomoarpowah was working for older vers of android, but seems like they don't sell it any longer and it is off the playstore. I need an alternative options.
2-Have an app turn on automatically and disable screen off at launch - using Launchafterboot
3-open a Remote session server - Using VMlite VNC server
4-Lock all of the settings, iuncluding the dropdowns and anything that could get you back to the home screen.
The way i have it setup it turns on, launches the app i need as well as the app that disables screen off, and opens the VNC server at the same time.
Thats well and good but I need to be able for the device to also be locked to where you cannot get out of that program after it initially launches. I see a lot of parental lock programs but once they run, they stop all my other services from opening at launch in the background, even if those apps are "safe" and unlocked"
any help here would be appreciated.
