Hi, after flashing stock firmware through odin, my phone is stuck on the samsung logo. My phone is the UK O2U variant of the SM-G965F. When the phone is stuck on the samsung logo, it shows up in chimeratool as "unknown samsung phone in modem mode" so I assume this is caused by the efs partition being ****ed, so the OS can't initialize properly.
When entering recovery I get the efs invalid argument error. I have tried resetting data and cache in recovery and then reflashing stock firmware again, but that didn't seem to help. I can't flash TWRP because the bootloader seems to have relocked itself, as I get an error that only samsung firmwares can be flashed.
I purchased a piece of software called "chimeratool" for 80 euros, but I don't have the option to repair efs for some reason, i think maybe because of the bootloader being locked.
If anyone knows how I can flash TWRP without booting or any help would be greatly appreciated. I can give a monetary reward if anyone manages to help me fix this.

yes, the firmware i have flashed is named "SM-G965F_O2U_G965FXXSEFUB1_G965FOTFEFUB1_G965FXXSEFUA1_G965FXXSEFUB1" which i believe to be the correct one for my UK O2 Single Sim model.

Hi,
First of all: Excuse my bad englisch, it's not my native language.
Second: I know i'm a noob But i tried really hard to find an answers to my question but couldn't find one.
My situation:
I live in the Netherlands, and ordered an unbranded phone, but to my surprise, the send me a vodafone branded phone. I could send it back, but it takes them a few weeks to send me the phone back unbranded, so i decided to not do that.
Wat i want to do is to restore my phone to the stock samsung firmware to get rid of the vodafone bullxxxx. I have read this topic and it's understandable. The only thing i don't understand is wich firmware do i need? There is a huge list of firmwares, but i am clueless to wich one is suitable for me.
Is samsung firmware country dependent? Because i live in the netherlands, but my phone is very likely from the uk, because i got an uk like charger with my phone. It looks like this:

}
I'm not 100% if my phone is from the uk.
So wich firmware should i flash to get my phone to the stock samsung firmware without the vodafone crap?
btw my current firmware regarding to samsung kies is: PDA:KG2/PHONE:KG1/CSC:KE2(VOD)
Summary(if you don't like reading):
I want to flash my phone with the stock firmware from samsung without any branding, but i can't find the right firmware for my phone, can you help me?
thanks
Any simplest is to look at the latest release from that link and pick one for whatever country you want or use a multi CSC version .

So for example i could flash the firmware below, and i't wouldn't brick my phone and void my warranty?
CEKI2
Firmware info
PDA:CEKI2
PHONE: XXKI1
Date: 19/09/2011
Android 2.3.4
This packages has the old bootloader so you can safely reset the binary counter with a Jig.
If you've already flashed a full package from elsewhere or updated using KIES and cannot reset your binary counter using the Jig just flash this package in the PDA or Bootloader section of Odin to replace the bootloaders and then you can reset the counter: link deleted
XEN (Netherlands): link deleted
CEKI2 Stock Kernel:link deleted
Password: [email protected]

Nobody can help me? Maby it's tl;dr?
You can indeed flash that package, but as with flashing anything there is always the possibility of a brick and it will void the warranty.

Firmware region doesnt matter much ..but if you flash a firmware from a different region with different CSC..you might not get updates via KIES..however you can flash any of the firmwares for GT-I9300 and see if it works for you..by the way latest for ICS is LH1 and jellybean is LH6..
yes you are right the firmware that i install its old there are 3 update after him.
now i click check for update its show there is no update .....
see i install this one in Pic :

the update may not be not pushed to your device due to various reasons incorrect CSC is one of them..just download the firmware from the page you pasted here..put your phone in download mode..connect it to ODin and flash the firmware as PDA..
IMPORTANT-Read how to use ODIN first in the general section.

It depends on the region you're in. You should use the Customized firmware for your region.

There is the new firmware .232 available for the Saudi Arabia region, but I don't think someone already created a prerooted firmware for it.

hum... that's from Saudi Arabia so it should be the right region, but as what was said this is an old firmware, 5.0.2
Come on, you can use whatever customization you want. The D6503 is a GLOBAL phone, doesn't really matter if you run USA firmware on Spain or Japan. The baseband is the same for all models (An exceptio could be carrier branded firmwares)
Hi everybody
Quick question, I have a Samsung S9+ G965U from AT&T on Android 8 with baseband G965USQS3ARG8 and can't seem to update to Android 9 or 10. I tried flashing with a XAS firmware like G965USQS7DTE1 but Odin doesn't even start flashing. Also tried to XAA firmware from G965U1 and same result.
When I use Odin Patched it gets stuck in "setup connection":

I also tried turning on the phone with an AT&T sim card to see if I get OTA but still nothing.
Anyone with an idea on how should I do this?
Thank you
Very interesting I run into your post. Just got an S9+ unlocked but originally from AT&T. Can't OTA with an AT&T sim card either, so...following this thread
Just solved today, I tried again with Odin Patched latest version flashing the latest XAS G965U1 firmware, but using a different computer and a different USB cable. My guess is that it might have been the cable though.

So it worked for you? Do you have the stock Android 10 now? I just got an s9+ with ATT unlock running android 8 and I want to load the unlocked software so that i can get android 10 and no bloatware. Seems like I need to do exactly what you did.

cool. Can you tell me where you download the firmware file? From my limited research seems like SamFirm and Frija are the two to try, but SamFirm has stopped, directed me to updato but that only has Pie; Frija has some sort of virus flag? Sammobile seem to not work anymore on free version as well. Thanks a lot for your help

Interesting that I've stumbled on this thread. I have the same phone but unlocked version and not living in the US, and am trying to update to latest one ui.
On my TMobile Note 9 which is unlocked as well, I was able to flash a zip file created by someone right here on XDA and that made me able to get ota updates from tmobile even though I'm on a different network in a different country. Thought it was going to be possible to do that on this phone as well, didnt want to go through the hassle of using Odin to be honest as my husband is the more tech savvy of us two.
