Acer Predator 8 GT-810 Root needed please!

Hello, i am willing to donate if someone can figure out a way to Root the new Acer Predator 8 GT-810 Tablet. Been looking everywhere and tried many common root apps with no luck. Thanks in advance.
Mee Too! I will also donate when someone helps me to root the Acer predator 8.
Amazing tablet, but what's the point when you can't root and hook up your Ps3 controller to play some emulators?
First i need root for the device to get it Ad-free and to install appOops, to delete tons of bloatware, a working recovery would be great and some custom Roms also.
I would love to have root for this tablet too
Anybody knows, how to root Acer Predator 8 GT-810 ?
I can unlock the bootloader, unfortunately I need to compile TWRP to install the SU binaries. If anyone can point me in the right direction on how to compile TWRP for a device that no devs are working on, I would love to try to do this myself. Thanks!

Hi man,
You can visit the "Taiwan101 ROM Factory" of Facebook to ask he how to compile TWRP to install the SU binaries.
URL as below : .facebook.com/tw101.rom.factory/?fref=ts
Please add www at the .facebook.com/
so I cannot use "post outside links".
(To prevent spam on the XDA forums, ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages. After approximately 10 posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thank you for understanding!)
And if you success root Acer GT-810, please help provide the Root Tool to me, thank you very much.:fingers-crossed:
I might have a way of easily flash TWRP, and install SuperSU, use the Temporary recovery project to boot temporarily into twrp and flashing supersu, theres an easy way of getting twrp permanently but ill try it when i get the tablet 31th of this month.
Also this temporary recovery does not require an unlocked bootloader since it uses a flaw in bootloader to load twrp, but it might be patched, just try it.
Perhaps this new found exploit can be used in rooting this tablet. http://arstechnica.com/security/201...tflips-to-root-android-phones-is-now-a-thing/
Hi, i am thinking of getting one for my son to replace his aging xoom. I want a tablet that can be rooted so I can get rid of bloat wire, not overly fussed about a rom.
I have googled rooting and came across a page How to root Acer Predator 8 GT-810 on androidrootmania.net
Has anyone tried any of these methods of root. Thankyou in advance for replies

it's okay, if you root Acer GT-810 successfully, please help me how to root it with root tool, Thank you very much.
I want use xposed on Acer GT-810.
I think its time to share at least some results, i was able to port TWRP 3.0.2 to this device AND ROOTING this device. ill leave twrp 3.0.2 here for who wants it. Please read all of the post.
=============================================================================================
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ROOTING:
After flashing TWRP 3.0.2, use the SuperSU 2.46 flashable zip, do NOT use latest version or will result in a bootloop. Good Luck and have fun with rooting. Links on bottom of the post.
=============================================================================================
REQUIREMENTS
1- Unlocked Bootloader (search on google if you dont know how to unlock)
2- Drivers and Adb/Fastboot commands knowledge
=============================================================================================
New TWRP bugfix update! Now you can flash stock rom on TWRP without bricking! Download Page updated!
=============================================================================================
Bugs:
1- adb shell command needs to be sent before system partition is mounted or it will give an error, after doing adb shell you can mount system and do all the modifications you need.
2- You cant flash any img on twrp it gives an error, im trying to fix.
3- Backups do work, but everytime twrp restarts, the device name seems to change (which means that on /TWRP/BACKUPS/devicename/backupsinside/ changes every reboot so you have to go get the backup inside the old devicename folder and put on the new devicename folder).
=============================================================================================
Im leaving an unsecured boot image because system seems not want to boot android if anything seems changed. So please if system does not boot after flashing twrp/rooting, flash the unsecured boot img on fastboot.
=============================================================================================
Also im asking just a little bit of your time to request our device to have our own forum threads as it will make it a lot easier to manage the development and make it easier for people with same device to find it, request it here, the more people the better the higher chances we get to see a forum thread for our device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660354

First: You would need an Unlocked Bootloader to make this work.
UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE. You had to get lucky and get into the depth testing program. Oppo has moved on to the Find X2 and above with their testing and I haven't found the latest test app that works on the FInd X. Since I didn't get into the testing, the phone doesn't stay in fastboot mode, and I can't unlock the bootloader.
Second: IF you're able to get an unlocked bootloader, then it's as simple as:
downloading the latest ozip file to your computer
converting it to a zip
extracting the boot.img file
Installing Magisk apk on the phone
Move the boot image to device storage
Use Magisk to modify the boot image
Move the new image to your computer
Boot into fastboot mode
Flash the new boot.img
Reboot with root privileges

Completly lost trying to root G715FN

Hello,
Let me try to recall everything I tried.
The first thing I have done is to unlock the bootloader. I had 0 troubles with that. But after that, I tried to root the phone and there is no luck.
First thing I found is that there is no dedicate root tool for this phone. So my first option was patch boot.img with Magisk. I done that but it give me an error with vbmeta verification.
I read some guides related with TWRP but had almost the same issue. I also tried to port myself TWRP with the same luck.
So after that, I though the better idea is was to built the house from the ground, not from the roof so I started searching about VBMeta and that stuff. I'm not very sure what's VBMeta or what it does but AFAIK, it's something that check several firmware integrity (maybe CRC?) and, if it's not the correct, it will say so and don't let you begin the phone. Several investigations later I found out that I have no clue on how to path/change/whatever VBMeta in order to flash a patched boot.img with Magisk root and so, I can't install/port TWRP.
I'm so sorry for posting this here and I know that there is tons of tutorials but that's my main issue: I find several guides, some for some phones (PCBs), some outdated, some without complete information... If you could point me out on the correct direction and help me with this I will really appreciate that.
Thank you in advance.
Bump!
I know you already sold this phone, but I post answer for other people reading this thread.

Question Accidently flashed corrupted boot.img to primary section (magisk). Would like some help restoring to stock so can get ROOT again.

Hi,
I flashed a corrupted magisk patched boot.img to my pixel 6. I had removed root via uninstall magisk to update security patch but was unlucky when trying to gain root again.
It asked to factory reset which I thought id try but I think its corrupted aswell.
Right now, I have fastboot available ( but no connection to ABD) when I select "start" is says its got corrupted device and may not work. Then loads bootloader, then goes to white background with google logo and stays there. I cant seems to connect the pixel to adb on my PC here.
If I go to recovery mode I get connection but its saying the device is unauthorized. Ive tried getting access but either cant or dont know how.
I dont have a "TWRP" and it seems its corrupted boot img here too.
My plan was to flash the stock boot.img file to the first section if i could get access but no luck.
As you may see, Im a noob but can follow instuction and have some IT skills.
Ive tried for 12 hrs reading around but need direct help.
Thanks!
update: please ignore this thread as have found a solution. Thank you!

Question Can't root after update.

This is weird and boggles my mind. I updated to the latest update for my pixel 6, Everything went fine.
When I try to flash the patched boot.img the phone just bootloops and I have to reflash the stock boot.img. I feel like I've tried everything flashed the patch img to both slots tried reinstalling the update, tried flashing stock boot to both slots and retrying the process again.
Everything is normal i.e. bootloader unlocked, that Verity thing dealt with. I just can't get my head around it. I tried following that post with the guide but still the same result.
Any help would be great, it's not about achieving root anymore tbh, I just want to beat it as I've been at it for hours and it's annoyed me now haha.
Thanks in advanced
This has to be a joke, right?
Okay, I give up.
What's the punch line?
I wish it was mate maybe I've been trying for ages now that the obvious is escaping me. Scared to know the answer now haha.
@Newrooter22 Ask in the guide you looked at. They know all. Yep, it's under "guides".
will you try following through adb ?
- boot to bootloader
- from fastboot try to boot with the patched img yuo made with command : fastboot boot patched -image-you-made.img
- see if your phone boot.
- if not, get a copy of patched boot img with your img version on this forum.
i used to have same issue, turned out patched img wasn't good.
hope will help.
Thanks everyone for the replies, I've posted the situation under the "guides" as I'm starting to think it's something wrong with the patched boot.img that I'm getting from Magisk.
@mailistman I thought that could've worked as well hopefully just booting the patched img but never worked so hopefully if someone on the other thread has a copy, the second thing you mentioned might work.
Thanks again
