hope it will be fixed by next version software
even turn off the front camera beautification mode, still it do some beautifying by itself.
I see apple trends going on. Price, beauty mode pre-installed,no screen protector nor free cover from the box. P30 Pro you won't even get usb-c to jack dongle.
I was suppose to pre-order this and was waiting for long time, but now bit in confusion by using for couple days ..,
Having opted for a Mate 20 Pro (presumably because of things like battery life, cameras and in-screen fingerprint reader) and now that we're entering the 2019 release cycle (Galaxy 10's incoming, P30 Pro not too far away) what features do you want in your next phone?
- Hole punch camera or slider, or are you happy with a notch for proper facial recognition?
- An ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint reader?
- Better rear cameras with higher optical zoom?
- Drop the curved screen?
I'm talking about physical features rather than software related things like EMUI & locked bootloaders but, on that note, would you go for another Huawei knowing what you do about the M20Pro?

Better screen with no hw bugs
Faster on screen fingerprint reader
Better emui on huawei case
I think thats all, every spec in a smartphone nowsdays is more than enough. The only thing left is to take all of it and do it right with quality standards.

I'd like to see dual monitor support via HDMI when connected to EMUI desktop mode. (1920x1080)+(1920x1080)=3840x1080.
Also, if the EMUI desktop mode could permit direct SMS text messaging via desktop mode similar to that of Samsung DEX mode.
Ubuntu Linux on Huawei EMUI
I would like to see flagship phone that is less fragile. If phone like M20pro have charger this fast so wireless charging is not a necessity, at least give me an option for aluminium back. Also a phone with less or no compromises with under 1k price. I personally don't care about gimmicks like s pen or reverse charging etc. IR blaster is cool, I use it all the time. That's why I chose M20pro vs Note9.
My next purchase will be very carefully considered and almost certainly not a Huawei. Mainly because I have faced touchscreen lag on the P20 pro and now the Mate 20 Pro. Also the P20 Pro monochrome sensor made night mode much much better than the Mate 20 Pro so I think Huawei have lost their advantage. I used to do pitch black or very low light pin sharp night mode shots on the P20 pro, but in exactly the same scenario on the Mate 20 pro, you have camera shake which ruins the shot.
As for my next phone:
High touch screen response / sensitivity / low ms.
4-5,000 mah battery with battery life to match (12hrs SOT)
Flat screen (Screen protector friendly)
Pin sharp selfie camera (such as Pixel or One plus)
3D Face unlock
No pinhole selfie camera
Excellent video recording (stereo and handles concert scenarios)
Excellent low light camera, and fast shutter speed for indoor / pets etc (ala Pixel 2)
Powerful, loud stereo Dolby atmos speakers.
As I go along I feel this is never going to happen. This above is a mix of the Razer phone 2 and the Mate 20 Pro.
Fellow Members I have the Huawei P30 Pro and since I have unboxed it I have been getting asked what comes in the box and what is differnet or new over the P20 Pro. I have made a video about this the link is https://youtu.be/gav37hRpYn0 however please read this post fully as it may save you time over watching the whole video. Any questions please let me know down below and I will try my best to answer them.
The Box is classic Huawei, smart, classy and very clean, opening it reveals my brand new P30 Pro in the shiny black which never goes out of style. We also have a sim ejection tool packaged alongside the usual booklets and paperwork which lets be honest no one reads. And finally in the bottom of the box I spy the Huawei Super charger, a usb c charging cable and a set of usb c earphones, BUT NO DONGLE OR CASE in my box!!!!
Taking a closer look at the P30 Pro its obvious to see the ergonomic design where the handset is dual curved from the front and back panels. On the matte finished frame up top, there is a microphone and an IR blaster. On the right side we have the volume rocker above the power button. At the bottom of the device there is a speaker grill, usb c charging port, microphone and sim card / memory card tray. On the back of the P30 Pro the finish on my unit is a glossy glass with some Huawei and Leica branding beneath the new cameras. Which are 20mp ultrawide angle, 40mp super Spectrum and 8mp 5 times optical periscope zoom lens and not forgetting the TOF sensor under the flash. I will go into more details about the cameras in another video but rest assured these cameras are even better than the P20 Pro. With 5 times optical zoom, 10 times lossless hybrid zoom and 50 times digital zoom coupled with dual OIS and an ISO over 409000 these lenses produce results which are jaw dropping. The 6.47in OLED 19.5:9 FHD+ screen is a beauty as Huawei decided to go with a tiny tear drop notch which houses the 32mp selfie camera and face unlock technology. There is also an in screen Fingerprint sensor which now is lightening fast and extremely accurate.
An improvement over the P20 Pro is the addition. Of fast wireless charging at 15 watts and the ability to charge another QI enabled product using reverse wireless charging which Huawei were the first to bring to market. Luckily Huawei have included a 4200 mah battery meaning the P30 Pro is a power users dream easily able to give all day usage. I noticed there is no earpiece above the notch in fact there is no earpiece cut out anywhere, Huawei have used a new technology called Huawei acoustic display technology where the sound for phone calls comes through the screen as that’s where the speaker is housed.
Finally whats under the hood? The Kirin 980 with dual NPU, 8gb of RAM, 128 or 512gb of built in storage which is expandable. With all this power it is vital that the heat is rapidly dispersed, Huawei have included a cooling design with graphene layers and an advanced heat pipe. Topping this all off the P30 Pro is running EMUI 9.1 and Android pie straight out of the box and for added protection it has IP68 water and dust resistance.
Earbuds, charger, thats it.
Here in Italy, you get a clear case if you order from Amazon. I picked mine up at a large electronics retailer and there was no case.
UK versions have no case.
In Cyprus i got the device and the usuall stuff. No gel case for free this time.
Mine came in a big box with the GT watch, gel case, and a free huawei quick wireless charger on the side.
I have the L29.
In china, clear case, charger and earbuds.
It has been a week since I started using this phone and here is my review:
- So light and so thin. There is no other phone like it.
- Everything is very smooth and fast.
- No heating issues. I usually take a break when I first setup a phone (large file transfer, mass installation of apps...etc.) for I do not like holding a hot chunk of glass, plastic, or aluminium. I did not experience that with this phone.
- Display quality is excellent. My last phone had deltaE score of 1.4 and I assume 11L5G is probably in that area too. In other words, near perfect white balance and color reproduction.
I am not sure if I have the pentile or the other inferior display. All I know is that it is indistinguishable from AMOLED used in S10 Plus and top notch LCD screen of my previous phone.
- Camera. It has noticeable and annoying lag in low light situation. I am not talking about dark dark settings but just indoor situation. I press the shutter then it takes a photo just when I start wondering if I did not press the shutter button. Since such shutter lag is just a strange problem I never experienced on other phones, I expect it to be fixed on next update.
- Build quality is quite good and its back panel looks very premium.
- Vibration motor is excellent. This is the one area where manufactures cut corners and I am glad it is the not case this time.
- Widevine L1 even after unlock. But you cannot install NetFlix from Playstore but APK install works fine.
Overall, I am very much pleased with this phone. If you want a phone that is light and thin, you have no other choice but to go with this one. Ever since introduction of 5G, the market kept pumping out thick and heavy phones. Xiaomi too until this phone. What's great is that this phone is not just light but comes with great CPU, display, large battery, build quality, vibration motor and everything. It would've been perfect if no shutter lag issue. I do expect the issue to be fixed since it cannot possibly be a hardware problem.
EDIT: I retract what I said about display quality. It is, indeed, distinguishable from AMOLED used in S10 Plus or my previous phone which uses LCD with 441 ppi. Text do not appear as sharp as those. It is micro blurry and you may not even notice it if your sight is not so very good. I am still not sure if my phone came with pentile or delta though.
Tried Gcam 8.1 forced 4k60 on main lens, works well, Snapdragon 780G 5G version

It's been a while, around 2 years since I used Gcams. I am currently trying various copies of Gcams. Many works well but it sucks is that there seems to be no config file that is for S5KGW3 sensor.

I'm having the same issue. Last week I have ordered the Mi 11 Lite 5G and when watching videos (War Thunder for example) the lack of details in those videos is big compared to my Redmi Note 8 Pro. The screen is also slightly brighter and discoloured. That probably means we have the RGB Delta screen.
Hi,
I'm planning to buy a Mi 11 lite 5G.
What about battery life ?

I checked and confirm that I do have delta panel. However, I cannot tell a difference when watching a video. The difference is only noticeable when reading fine text. That is compared to my previous device Honor 20 which has superb 440 ppi LCD screen.

Battery life is highly subjective - everyone's usage patter is different.
AccuBattery Battery Health shows that my device has 3561 mah estimated capacity. And it gets me about 10h 30 min. of on screen time. Note that I do not game and use phone mainly for browsing stuff and apps that are not heavy.

I am very disappointed about it. The capacity of the battery is only at 90%. I have to reload several times a day. My old Poco F1 lasts longer.... With the same apps.

I don't use my phone too much. Currently, I have a Oneplus 5T that is almost 5 years old and I only charge it every couple of days, so I hope to do the same with this one.

I came from a oneplus 5T.
5T I could not get past a whole day without charging once, warp charge is still fast but still.
Mi 11 lite I can go the whole day and it charges fast if needed.
Yes, fast charge is very efficient, with 33W it's better than the OP5T with 20W.

I have an issue with Bluetooth, it doesn't automatically connect to paired devices like my car (most importantly), speaker or laptop.
I have searched for a solution on Internet but couldn't find a fix. BTW same problem on my Poco F2 pro and Oppo X2pro. All are global rom.
Has anyone a solution for this problem?
What about carriers AT&T won't work with it the 410 MCT won't stick on apn
Guys I'm having issues with heating. Could you check your battery temperature while doing some normal app browsing? I'm getting 33-37c
Hi to all I have problem in my Mi 10 camera ultra wide camera hang then I need to close camera app main camera lens and micro working ok
Hi, do you still face that problem? I bought a used Mi 10 with broken screen a month ago to sell it with a better price. I launched a camera, tested main functions including all cameras and haven't experienced any problem. I guess it was one of the previous generations because after update they introduced me a new a'la iOS notification panel. I decided to update software - because why not - now it's MIUI 13, and didn't check remaining functions. After all I took the phone apart and replaced the screen. I tested everything and I got scared because of the ultrawide lens. Now I don't know if the reason was too big pressure put on the UW lens to glue the screen, I put extra soft layers on screen and a battery cover to properly distribute weight (I already repaired a few phones and none of them got damaged in any way) taking care about a cameras' island.
Also I bought another cameras' island and unfortunately there's no difference.
I'll try to downgrade the OS to the oldest version and let you know about the result.
Always you can successfully access the stock camera by 3D touch on main screen and select among a few modes: Pro, Photo and Video
