Yes Is It For Note 5
And Why Dont U Install It And Check It Out
Thank you for this support for the Note 5. I will download this tonight and test it on a Note 5 I got from someone today.
Nice UI. I also like the boot animation and customization. Only thing is that SELinux is set to Permissive. I'm guessing it's quite a big job setting up SELinux policy to function correctly when set to Enforcing in the development of this OS.

Didn't notice any overheating during the time I had the device. It was on my desk without a cover. It also didn't have a SIM inside but I don't know if that is relevant. Battery life is about the same as stock. Phone was idle for a couple of days without charging and still was 75%. Video playback was fine when using YouTube in Kiwi Browser. I'll ask my friend who now has the phone to let me know if there are any issues.

Thanks, I was asking because I seem to experience some kind of battery drain when streaming videos. This happens on all the ROMs that I've tried, though I haven't given this one a chance.

Camera is as "good" or bad as it is on other Roms. No specific camera adjustments were done.
Does It support d6633?
Greaeaeaeaeaeat guys!!!!! Thanks!!!! Happy New Year!!!)))

Please support the dual version of Z3(d6633), This can be my only hope to use my phone with Nougat ?
I flashed the rom, it all worked normal but the camera.
I kept getting the "Can't connect to the camera" error. Then I retried to reflash the ROM but without gapps or SuperSU, but even like that it didn't work.

the DualSIM Z3 requires additional Model blobs and testing. As nobody in the team owns a Z3 DSDS, we unfortunally can't support it.

I think I know why. I'll look into it. Was my fault as on my testing builds I always ran userdebug builds, but our releases were "user" builds, so the Cam is very likely broken thanks to SELinux or something like that. I will research it right away.
So, we should avoid this version and wait until the camera is fixed?

I fixed it already and restarted the builds. CARBON-CR-5.1-MOO-WEEKLY-leo-20170101-1528 should be fine.
Happy new year and prosperity for your whole family. @Myself5
I have tried the rom and there is a rendering in the animation of the system that is very little but it is enlarged when many processes are executed for example when you get many notifications to the time and also when you have many open applications.
There is also a conflict when passing files to the microSD from the PC sen que qeda making the copy and never pass the file is like a problem reading and writing.
This rom works fine on my Z3 with the panel replaced as there are roms with kernels 3.10 that do not work on devices with replaced panels.
This rom has that scent when it used android N DP for the Z3.
Thanks @ Myself5 is a great job.
Is this rom suitable for everyday usage? Thank you for your hardwork!

Is your SDCard exFat formatted? We still need to add support for that, but its on the todo list
For the animation stuff, I can't do much. I've been told that the newest QCOM adreno blobs improve the GPU experience, I'll see if I can build them into the next release.
Thanks @Myself5.
Guys, what bugs did you encounter in the current versions?
Sorry for asking this question @Myself5.
At the moment of a new update will be received a notification-download from the rom or will be made an installation from the recovery with zip file?
This question is because I have installed the update that corrects the error of the camera and I deleted the Gapps and the good thing is that I have only left the apps that I downloaded from the PlayStore, in a few words what would be the appropriate procedure for Install a new ROM construction.

There is no Updater implemented yet (its another item on the todo list though).
When you update you _should_ be able to just flash the ROM, GApps should survive. If thats not the case, as it seems to be for you ATM, I'll look into that.
Till then, just flash the ROM and GApps afterwards.
maybe it's a silly question but why "moo" ?
And could we have a working / non working list ? From the devs, or from anyone else ?
Thanks anyway for this Rom !
Wow. I can't believe someone's still making ROMs for Z3 O_O Great! I'm gonna check it out soon. Thanks for Your hard work, @Myself5 !

Substratum is supported. (Root and rootless mode)
If you want root you have to flash it separately.
Am i the only one getting stuck at the "Format system" part on the installation procedure of the rom?
I tried to install it two times with different recoveries (latest unofficial twrp tugapower and another one which i don't remember the name) and it happens the same problem, however with other roms this doesn't happen.
Maybe there is something wrong with the updater-script or i had a bad download, can anyone confirm? Anyway i'm going to see if a recovery log of the event has been stored, because i had to force a reboot.

I forget to post it. It takes quite a lot to get flashed. I have been investigating it but i could not found the problem. I will continue looking though.
Well, I just installed and configured the ROM. And I come to contribute what in my point of view, would come well to implement if possible
1 can choose single-double actions-keeping the touch of the physical buttons. In addition to being able to remove the illumination of said buttons.
2 you can apply the blur / blur effect to the notifications panel
3 at least two levels of screen size settings.
And for the moment is what made in lack of other roms ..... anything I fell in mind the comment here
Edit: 4 possibility to choose how many columns are desired in the Settings

1. You can choose double tap and long press actions. I will look into single press actions.
2. I don't think that will be merged.
3. I will look into it.

Hello ! Is this ROM contains :
- 3 state location in status bar ;
- Force volume keys to control media stream ;
- mute intellegent (flip to silent) ?
These options are very important for me. Thanks !

Ok, just to let know everyone: for me it took 9 minutes and 30 seconds to be completed the instalation.
Here you have a recovery log of the installation process in case it can be helpful: http://pasted.co/059b7a93, although i don't see much relevant information besides this:
Code:
carbonrom.org
Formatting /system
Formatting /system
Creating filesystem with parameters:
on those lines (2294 and 2295) It seems that the "formatting /system" procedure is done twice, but i don't find it logical as it's not repeated on the updater-script of your rom, so maybe it's not a problem.
I saw that the content of the zip of your rom (system directory) is packed like the Kit Kat days, i mean in the system directory of your rom contains everything there but in other roms like Resurrection Remix and all the ones i have saw from Android 5.1 to 7.1 are packed as "system.new.dat" and in the system directory there is only the build-prop, so i think, from my low dev skills, that might be the source of the problem. Also the updater-script of your rom compared for example with the one from Resurrection Remix Nougat differs on the mount and format procedures of Data and System.
Besides that pretty solid rom :good:
I will be traveling for a few days today, so I won't be able to work on this.
Sorry guys, i will look into those things when i came back.

Ok, just to let know everyone: for me it took 9 minutes and 30 seconds to be completed the instalation.
Here you have a recovery log of the installation process in case it can be helpful: http://pasted.co/059b7a93, although i don't see much relevant information besides this:

It's packed like that because the builds are file based. Other ROMs are block based and that's why you see the .New.dat files.
File based builds are normally slower than block based. That partially explain why it takes so much. But 10 minutes is a lot even for a file based build imo.
I returned home yesterday. I have been comparing some carbon stuff with omnirom ones, which is also file based, but no luck yet.
Meanwhile, I have got a test build with oneplus2 doze package added. It seems to be working fine. I'm running it atm.

Testing right now a 7.1.2 build. If all goes well (it should) I will post the link tomorrow .
New 7.1.2 build.
I have been running it since yesterday and I have not found any problem. If you flash this, please use an updated gapps package. Dynamic gapps are not updated yet, so I suggest to use @Setting.Out slim revisted gapps.

@camcory built some for arm. You can find them here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1OH9N2UGTr_ZPi-zNaerFpxH9W5zQY89D
They should work fine but I didn't test them personally yet.

NOTICE: THIS IS AN EARLY BUILD FROM OUR TESTING BRANCH. There will be changes in the release branches like changed/removed features or similiar.
BUGS:
Encryption is not working. Don't try to encrypt. It WILL break.
Due to the broken encryption, you need to format /data before booting, so backup your data.
Mobile connection (RIL) can be broken after reboots. To fix that, enter *#*#4636#*#*, go to Phone information and enable "Mobile Radio Power". It's working fine afterwards.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonBeta's GitHub...

install Titaniumbackup and restored a few apps ... works
dialer (RIL) - mobile data - wifi - camera - ... works
ok, let´s work and wait for issues
BIG Thanks to the the Devs - Myself5 / camcory / ... other as well!
With great respect for your work!!!
wauw this rom is working well on my shamu. Thanks dev!
Great start man with tasty Pie! Besides the minor issues of not getting the theme dark color to work, the only other thing when I reboot it told me I was in airplane mode...but that stuff I'm sure will be dealt with. Keep up the great work, love this.
+1000
I don't know the history but I am immensely grateful to everyone. I looked up the githubs mentioned, understood some of the changes, and feel far less useless now. This must be insanely timeconsuming and predictive if there's no quick method to compile parts and test. We should be grateful.

Interesting. Was the QS Button green and the statusbar icon there (so was it fully enabled?) or was the mobile data just disabled as listed on the Bug list?
I'm trying to get as much information about that issue as possible as it's really bugging me, lol.

Alrighty then, hopefully everyone got that out of their systems. Let's review a few things real quick-like before the cyber bloodshed goes any further:
Forum Rules apply to EVERY member, regardless of title, time in Xda, skill/talent, or significance of contribution to Xda.
What that means in simple, so easy a caveman could understand it terms; no insulting, disrespect, personal attacks, rude or profane comments, and when in a development thread, all posts need to be directly related to the work in the title of the thread.
Most of those involved in this display of testosterone know better, and should consider this a polite, courtesy warning to please keep the school yard banter OFF Xda and on Facebook, Insta, Reddit or any other social media platform where this sort of thing is welcomed.
If you have legit complaints about someone's actions or their work, use the REPORT function.
Let's not antagonize, create drama, or poke the bear so-to-speak by inviting trouble.
Any bad blood, personal issues, or personal beefs need to find somewhere else to be handled.
Please, let's all get back to observing Forum Rules, commenting only on the development going on here, and let's keep things civil, and respectful.
Your help, and attention are much appreciated. Thanks.
If there is an issue that needs to be addressed, try the REPORT function to identify the problem.
There is no reason for a Moderator to read the entire OP when cleaning a thread, especially if the offensive comment was not even reported.
By the time the reported comments were deleted, and PMs were made, the unreported comment in the OP was edited.
You guys spent more time complaining about something I didn't even know existed, rather than just reporting it.
If there are any further questions, please PM me and keep it out of the development thread.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, for keeping our Nexus alive.
I shall flash this when I get back home and report back!
Thanks again. Nexus 6 deserve this kind of efforts and you deserve even more appreciation.
So my device is already unencrypted, I've always ran my shamu that way. Do I still need to format my userdata or is it good to flash? Thanks! @Myself5
Also, Magisk working for root?

Alright, so I flashed it, and I am (expletive here) impressed! This build runs so freaking well! I'm gonna continue to test and see what I find, but so far this is running awesomely! I'll report back. Thanks man!
Don't try to encrypt? What is there to encrypt, and how can I avoid it? I would love to try pie on nexus, but I don't understand if I should be avoiding certain apps or actions
I know you are saying I need to wipe /data if encrypted, but don't I need to wipe /internal storage too? This is awesome to see these rolling out so quickly, you guys are brilliant!
installed the rom . amazing fast boot time .. clean & smooth
nice effort thank you. waiting for the stable release to see some customizations built in it. Thanks guys.

what do you mean by Couldn't install it? i have installed it and now setting up the pixel setup now.Actually its booted very fast.
i was on Aospextended rom and the recovery from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kCK73vrGcAMQOqUik2XD0w8d0TBGJ_Z4/view
(Recovery is the one posted by shivatejapeddi on his Aex thread. But i think its the same one that is recomended by chityanj)
So i went to recover.wipe system, cache, dalvik, data, vendor.Flashed the rom and reboot.

Seems very good. Thanks for the Hard work.
Here I faced some issues (May b you recognised before)
1. Connected to pc (adb).Disconnect and connect the cable to charging adapter is force rebooting to recovery.(most of the times)
2. Charging speed is not continuous (Means i checked on ampere app .the charging speed is fluctuating. Sometime its rapidly charging and some times its slowing down).
3. Hotspot is not working. https://drive.google.com/open?id=197w_MR_OYxoHxBWvyRu22cYmkv3XTTXN
4. Keyboard crashing on swipe gesture
kmsg https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uPw0z90g4Vvd9FabeR_XPB0Ik1ClO5m4
Tried every pie ROM there is and all of them seem to have heating issue. Cpu temp ramps up to 90°C on CPU intensive apps like games.
So far most things look good. Thanks for all the great work!
Tried a few things and heat up may be caused by cpu scheduler settings or cpu governor settings. Dont know which. But applied akt profile FusionOBeta22 using KPM and it sure has stopped the heating issues. Still getting spikes here and there on some cpu intensive tasks up to 85°C but ai can now use this as a daily driver.

What is PAX?
Our release of Android 10, titled CR-8.0, is codenamed PAX after the latin word for peace and Pax, the roman godess for peace.
PAX provides you with the features you need while keeping the focus on delivering an elegant, smooth, and well polished experience. PAX delivers a set of unique features, like a systemwide font engine that also allows for applying fonts on user apps while supporting user fonts through custom APKs generated on fonts.carbonrom.org. We are confident you'll love it, and there's many more things to discover

No
Moving from cr-7.0 to this cr-8.0 topic.
I'm looking for reassurances or corrections or suggestions on cr-8.0. TY. I did search.
Going to cr-8.0
Make a Nandroid.
Just like others when coming from other ROMs (here AOSiP 8.1) do a FULL Wipe.
Use the latest TWRP, latest nano open gapps & latest Magisk if root desired. After flashing the ROM should I flash open gapps immediately or can I reboot then flash gapps. Some other ROMs say no reboot between.
I have a Titanium Backup Pro license but run into comments this isn't working so well. Any other suggestions?
I appreciate Myself5 & others who develope, test & make available this ROM. Also my fellow members thank you. I feel blessed to belong to XDA.
thanks I will test and report

If you don't provide a log of the issue, you'll have to mail your phone to the dev if you want any help with the issue.
Joking aside, no one else is reporting this, so it may be gaaps. A log would help someone tell you.

Maybe you changed the screen resolution. There is not enough video driver.I changed through the terminal to 1080 and the green screen for video and YouTube.

Having the same issue and its definitely gapps, tried pico and nano same thing. Only becomes usable after wiping the system and caches and reinstalling without the gapps.

Logs, if possible, would be awesome. Theres also going to be a potential fix for this in tomorrows build already but I'll keep an eye out. Is there any specifics I should watch out for or is just trying to start YouTube enough to reproduce the issues?
I see instability with Google Camera app from latest opengapps. I can shoot at most a single picture or wait a bit and then the system reloads. Open camera works fine.
Also I tried to encrypt the data. It takes time to load the phone after entering the PIN. UI restarts several times before the system is accessible.
Does Carbon ROM support file based encryption?
Work like a charm, most smooth android 10 rom althought in battery saver mode, fuction font change and smart pixel is useful, thank a lot
Tried to listen to podcast in Castbox - the system reloads after ~1 minute of playback with the screen turned off.
Add castbox to "not optimized" apps in battery settings.
