E had this question since there are almost no roms for the Canadian version of the xz1 and I was wondering if since they are the same hardware, if the roms work?
¿Can anyone answer that question?

I'm sorry if my questions are dumb or already posted
Here where I live (Indonesia) we only got LG G5 SE, I don't know what the model number is but Google said it might be H840
My question is, is it possible to unlock the bootloader and root this model number?
And are there any custom vanilla roms for h840?
Because I'm a long time nexus 5 user, and my nexus 5 is getting a lot of trouble now (battery quickly runs out, GPS not working, vibrate module dead). I just can't stand the LG's OS, I'm already used to vanilla android
And if it's not possible to get a custom rom for h840, I might not getting this G5 SE to replace my Nexus 5
I'm waiting for your answers. Thanks in advance
The G5 SE is a different phone, it doesn't have a Snapdragon 820, but a Snapdragon 652 SoC (IIRC).
So the ROMs for the regular G5 won't work, you need different drivers etc.
Currently, only the European G5s can be bootloader-unlocked, I assume that for the G5 SE it's the same. So you won't be able to unlock your bootloader, root your phone etc.
So if nobody unlocked the bootloader of the G5 SE via some hack, you will be completely out of luck.
My advice: Don't simply buy such a phone and assume that somebody will hack the bootloader. Only buy it if you can live with a non-rooted phone with the stock LG firmware.

Hey guys,
I just bought a German Moto Z XT1650-03 for a great price. But I just found out that this version doesn't support dual-sim. Is there any way to Patch dual-sim by flashing a Rom or something like that ?

I doubt that. I'm sure it's a hardware limitation. But, I am guessing.
Edit : I am not sure, but there's this thread, https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z/how-to/guide-to-enable-dualsim-singlesim-t3594529
No idea if it will help though.
Yes, it is possible , see my thread

Hi,
can someone explain me, why VoLTE isnt working on any of the custom rom?
Iam german o2 user and with stock rom, Volte work fine and the Moto Z is in unofficially list from o2 with working VoLTE devices.
So i wonder, why it doenst work in any custom rom?
I read only from indian usern that with JIO VoLTE is working but why not in other countries?
It cant be hardware related because it work with stock rom.
Totti
Ok, cant believe it but it seems that no custom rom has Volte...
Hey guys,
I have the H960YK variant of the V10 model, sold in Israel. And unfortunately this one doesn't get the Nougat update for some reason...
I tried to look for guides and tutorials for rooting and flashing roms on my phone but I couldn't tell if those methods or roms would support my phone.
A friend of mine sent me this link for a tutorial but told me to ask here first if this tutorial would work on my phone...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/how-to-manually-install-android-7-0-t3624444
So if anyone could tell me if my phone should work with roms for other variants or have another way for me to get nougat on my device, it would be helpful.
Thank you
Do ROMs for single sim version work with dual sim version? Or are there any ROMs for dual sim version?
Question
is there any stable custom ro for pie on XZ1. I am a noob and I don;t seem to understand the things I see in the development section
I run standard pie witn janjans kernel on my G8342 (XZ1 Dual) ( [KERNEL/BOOT]+[DRMFIX][MAGISK]Sony XZ1 [G8341][G8342_Dual]-3-FEB-2019 ). Works lika a charm . Certainly, the bootloader must be unlocked.
But.....according to the screendumps provided by dev in "[Unoffcial] [EAS]AOSP Pie For XZ1" he made it/use it on a G8342 (XZ1 Dual) , so that seems to work according to developer.... but does not seems to be without issues when you read the thread.
My advice:
Stay on official Pie (currently 47.2.A.6.30). If you already have unlocked bootloader you can use janjan kernel, but it is not worth unlocking for if BL still is locked.
