Hello there, if you've installed the 4.3 update for the SGS3, you might have noticed the lag on the wake up screen. (When you lock your phone, you press a button to unlock it, and it takes 5-10 seconds for the unlock screen to pop up.) And I'm here, with a fix. This lag has been causd by "deep sleep", and we need to turn it off. But first, install the app below. (Does not require root)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=otis8.softlocker
After you're done installing, tap the lock once, and you're done. You might check the box if you want this app to automaticly start when you open your phone. Hope that fixes your problem, it fixed my i9300! Have fun

Surely turning off deep sleep is going to have an impact on battery life?
I installed the ADAM Kernel which reduced the lag from deep sleep to around 2 seconds at worst and the battery life is the best ive ever had from the phone.

** Update: I swapped rom and have a battery drain issue, a user reported the had the same thing until a chrome update came in and it had apparently fixed the issue with 4.3...
Not for me i had the update already 2 days ago, i had also flashed ADAM kernel over the new 4.3 rom and that didnt help either.
I cant remember where i read this (ive search but cant find it) but a user said they turned off location services and the battery drain and wake lock issue went away with 4.3...?!?! no one belived them (i really wish i could find the post again)...
Anyway i though what the hell lets give it a go, (note i had already unselected the option to allow google to trawl unsecure wifi connetions regardless if my wifi setting... thanks but no thanks) so rather than initially turn it off i turned off:
"Use wireless networks"
I left the rest of the options on, the phone has GPS so i dont need poor mans GPS....
Guess what since ive made the change 5 hours ago the battery hasn't lost 1% (im on a zero lemon 7000mah cell) so 1% for me is 2-3% on a stock cell, before i made the change i would lose 1 - 2 % per hour with the phone doing nothing at all.
Additionally ive had no wake lag.....
I suggest other user try turning off use wireless networks under location services and see what happens, it shouldn't make a difference but it sure as hell did for me... Such a difference im going to stick with 4.3 instead of downgrading...!!
Just harping back to the ADAM Kernel, i noticed for the short time i was on stock 4.3 MJ9 the phone got hot (cpu) after a period of time, after flashing ADAM no getting hot issues.

Just took my phone off charge a few minutes ago so going to give your suggestions a try, see if the battery drain reduces, it was around 50% in 24 hours with my normal usage, wake up lag from cold was around 2 - 3 seconds so see if that improves, I am on a stock rom, not even got round to rooting it again, yet.
Why don't you just install an app, which keeps the screen always on? I am sure the lag would be gone
Honestly, I don't think it's a general issue. no one has reported this in my thread yet.

Lol, lol and one more time big LOL. Why ? Because it is working ! Ive tried install custom kernels but it just reduce lag. Now, after uncheck localization there is no lag
Thank you very much
Hello fellow Nexus 9 owners! I've got a question for you. I've had my Nexus 9 for 3 days now, I've been very satisfied with what this thing can do in terms of performance and even battery life, mostly. Now I am facing a problem. Today, I used it just normally playing World Of T
Goo and suddenly, it died on me. No warning, nothing. The screen glitched out and looked like a failing Linux graphics driver (weird green/black/pink/white pattern), the speakers were outputting a strange noise for about 4 seconds and then the screen went black. Pressing the power button didn't do anything, so I plugged it in and the white LED flashed just as if the battery was totally empty. So it charged up for a while just as always, took about 15 minutes and the charging monitor showed me 3% by the time it had enough power to load it up (that was a few hours ago). The battery is now on 16%, I plugged it in and suddenly, it displayed 21% (while the device was turned on, not the battery metre mode or what's it called). So I'd like to ask you if you have experienced something like that with your device or if it's just my unit. I hope this glitch isn't caused by CM12. My device is also charging very slowly or not at all during use. It either stays at, let's say 15%, or drains slowly. I wonder if this can be fixed with a custom kernel that supports quick charging.

What about the slow/no charging issue? Is that CM related, too?

Yep, everything is related. Actually, it charges normally, just that the battery % updates only when you replug. The only current workaround I found is go back to stock/not cm-based rom.

And what about the percentage going down during charging? I've had a similar problem on my Nexus 5 once, the solution was to use a better cable and a better charger. But here, the percentage goes down although I am using the stock charger+cables.

Probably cm related too. I'd just flash rastapop or some other rom until nightlies get sorted out. Nexus 9 received them less than a week ago so bugs like this are normal.

When I've received my watch I've charged it to 100 % and after that I've played with It half a day.
Next day I've had 40 % maybe.
Do you need more details ?
If you constantly turn on the light and full screen it of course doesn't last long.
To better measure the batery performance,
it best to recommended you to put on standy mod after fully charged.
It kinda hard to determine how the brightness you set while playing your watch, what the intensive vibration you had set, if you connected to Wi-Fi, if connected to phone bluetooth and etc.
Usually any new toys you received will prompt a problem of battery drain issues due to massive playing with it. It new, by nature human man kind would definitely to explore non stop.
Follow my advice above to let it be stanby mode and the monitor. Then after post your find out.

By standby mode do you mean aeroplane mode?
My brightness is at 2 and wi-fi off, vibrate at strong and bluetooth on.
With all that I am flat out getting 2 days.
I have factory restored and using the inbuilt prototype face.

i woud suggest you to disconnect your watch with your phone at all. do not use it at all and not necessary on airplane mode.
Then you monitor the battery performance. if the battery life still the same.... i do suspect some form hardware failure given if your watch is stock rom and done nothing using 3rd party apps or connection at all.

I MIGHT have figured out my battery drain culprit. I went back to a vanilla factory. I then updated the latest firmware and 24 hours later was on about 86%. At work, I use the countdown timer four or five times for 25 minutes each and my charge went down to around 40% over 10 hours. Will try tomorrow and NOT use the timer and see where I end up.
Come on, the watch has that high battery live when it is mostly sleeping, which is also when it has the low screen resolution.
If you use the timer, or paceon, or constantly switch on the light, then you have no battery live at all.
The same goes for bluetooth music.
Does anyone facing this problem of battery drain and heating of device after August Color OS Update.
Standby drain is 4-5 % per hour and screen on time is less than 5 hours.
I checked all the settings uninstalled all apps and checked the network settings, rebooted, checked in airplane mode also but the battery drain is the same.
Even while charging it is going more warm than before. If anyone is facing the issue please respond.
Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has very less reach to people and Oppo is not bothered about its device.

When I got the Mobile the first thing I did was update the patch.....so I am unaware of before and after stuff.....but It got heated only once while downloding and charging simultaneously (41°c). Also it gets a bit heated while charging when the AC / fan in the room is off(I guess that's normal).
From my past mobile experiences, a reset could help u out (take backup of data before reset).
U could also check in Battery setting which app is consuming more power.

Can u check what is your standby battery drain, my previous Oneplus 5 has drain less than 1% per hour with AOD but Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is taking 4% per hour and that is huge.
Hello anybody please respond about standby drain of reno 10x zoom.

Yes and daily its different app and just which app i use more thats only showing
And also when i check whole days power consumption , highest is whatsapp with 11 percent and the total mah used is 218mah for a whole day.
So, if 218 percent is 11 percent a whole day and consider i charged once fully, total for 100 percent is around 2000mah.
So where the rest 2000 mah is going, and its going when the screen is off.
I dont know what to do.
I have worse problem than this. Battery is draining at 10% per hour rate. And strange thing is that even if I switch off mobile, it will drain battery with same rate. May be hardware problem.

Hey folks, see if this is the right forum to post this.
Like some other people on here and on reddit the latest Android 11 update C.57 caused a lot more battery drain on my device.
Before on A.46 my over night drain was about 2% which is good I think with Wifi on.
With Coloros 11 it can be over 10% drain over the course of 6-8 hours which is far more.
I have tried gather info from my phone which app is draining but it looks rather normal.
Even tried the adb command to force the phone get the phone to do the battery optimazation manually without luck, seems I have dont have the permission to make suchs commands through ADB with USB-debugging mode enabled..
However this morning I found in Settings>Battery>More Battery Settings>Optimize Battery Use
The whole list on every app there was set to "Always ask" and not "Optimize Automatically"
Now I changed every app to Optimize Automatically and will see how this affects the current drain.
I read somewhere that to the phone to get to this "state of battery optimazation" you need to have the phone in the right state to execute that which was Battery Full on Charger in idle mode not moving for a few hours.
So I thought if the battery optimazation settings where set to "always ask" (which it never did) this state maybe never happens?
Anyways feel free to share your battery settings and what Battery standby drains you guys got because I have been going a little nuts over this issue haha.
I wouldn't bother changing the battery optimisation settings, they seem to reset themselves.
I wasn't getting great battery life so finally did a factory reset. After a week the battery settled down and is now ok, probably around 5.5 hours screen time a day at qhd 120hz with always on display in from 8am to 11pm. I don't really check battery drain overnight, I will check it and report back.

Yes I checked them again now after you mentioned it and they do seem to reset. However now my phone seems to work how it should, currently 3 hour screen on and 64% battery left. Wifi at home all day. Also the standy drain is night and day better now. Maybe this was a bug in Android 11 that kept it from optimize the apps?
I have adaptive on both refresh and resolution and same Always on time settings as you.

Glad it's working better now. I do find the battery a bit inconsistent, some days it's great and others it goes down quickly. I've turned location off now as dont need it that much, I lost 3% overnight which seems good to me.
I really don't understand how you guys get such a low battery drain overnight.
On ColorOS 7 I had 10-12% drain overnight.
On ColorOS 11 it stayed the same. I have reset my phone, now it's about 7-8%.
This is with night optimization on in the settings. 5G disabled.
I always was able to get that 3% on my older OP 7 Pro. Even on my Realme X2 Pro, which had the same OS!
Also, my SOT is not that good. On mixed data/wifi I only usually get 3.5hrs SOT. After the reset its 4hrs now.
With 5G on it's unusable, even with good coverage here. (AccuBattery: 6hrs SOT, 57hrs standby, just very bad)
It's nice to have Dual SIM now with Singapore EX, but I cant use it, my battery just can't handle that.
I kept this phone just because the rest is awesome, but the battery is such a letdown.
I thought it was a SD865 problem, but I also had the Mi 10 and Poco F2 Pro as a secondary device without any drain problems.

Yes I agree the battery drain is very weird with this OS.
Have you tried changing the settings in the battery optimize section? I turned on optimize automatically and then charged my phone full and let it sit for a while with charger plugged.
Try this and see if it gets better.
Its weird that the settings change after a while tho.
Just recently managed to use the phone and have to confirm ColorOS 11 is killing battery overnight, I have this for few weeks now so should be all optimised, yet still overnight is around 25-30% battery gone, my previous mate 20 pro was taking maybe 2-3% overnight so is massive hit. No notification is allowed, do not disturb on with wifi and mobile off, really weird is behave like something in the background was still on.
mine only about few percent but my battery life sucks at 4-5 hour ish
