I have been noticing this problem since the last 1 week. I never faced this problem earlier. Even with 50% charge, when I turn the display off at night, by the time I wake up in the morning, the tablet refuses to turn ON. When I put it on my cradle, the light turns RED suggesting that the tablet had discharged (which is strange cos I turned Wifi Off before going to sleep.) The only way to turn the display ON (even after charging the tablet for some time) is to click the Reset button.
On Resetting, only on one occasion I found that the tablet had really lost all the juice (which is strange) but on all the other 3-4 occasions, after the reset I saw there was atleast 40% juice left. So it is really strange why the tablet would not turn ON.
I never faced this problem when I had GB. Could this be happening after the ICS update?? Has anyone else faced a similar problem??
Please reply
(I am currently in US but am going off to India in June for a year. Hence if there is something wrong with my tablet, I will not even get a warranty out there. So, unless this is a common problem for everyone, I am considering to sell off my tablet as soon as possible and get some thing else......possibly a TF300)
I have noticed similar issues with my previousley UK tablet and now US with ICS (rooted).
Putting the tablet to sleep and coming back to it later finding it's completley dead and the only way to wake it is to hold the power button to power on or to recharge and do the same .
Thanks. So maybe I am not the only one.
My suspicion is that it is either with the ICS update where something has gone wrong causing the tablet to go to a deep sleep sometimes (This doesnt occur all the time.........just time and often)
OR
Since my tablet is about 6 months old now, maybe the battery Sony had provided is not good enough. Probably it has already started dying.
can others confirm whether they notice any such problem as well??
Note: It doesnt go into deep sleep all the time. Just about 2-3 times a week, I'll notice that it has gone totally dead and the only way to wake it up is to click the reset button and reboot the tablet. (On two of such occasions I noticed the battery completely died........while on the other cases after waking up it still had 40-50% remaining)
Why don't you send it back to Sony to have a look since its still under warranty?
I have been asked to do a reset and factory data reset to see if it solves the issue. I shall be doing that. However, the problem is that this issue does not occur every time. I have noticed it happening one or two times every week. Its not that every time I turn the screen OFF it refuses to turn ON and hence I need to do a soft reset.
The Sony guys still advised to do a factory data reset and then contact Sony for repairs if it doesnt solve the problem. So that's gonna be like another week till I know for sure (If I notice the issue) if it resolved the issue OR I need a repair/replacement.
I have a new tablet (2 weeks of use) with US ICS installed usingh AIO and experienced the same thing twice. I think it's the PS emulator, since the app was running when this happened.
Both times It refused to power on and I had to hold the power button for a while.
I'll keep and eye on it and let you know.
I have a similar problem. It also occurs intermittently and has only been happening post is (rooted in UK with region change).
Yesterday I went out for a couple of hours and left my fully charged tablet in standby. I when I got back it would nt turn on. The green mail notification list was flashing so I knew the battery was ok. Fake I plugged in the charger and the power light was yellow. I waited about 5 mins with the tablet charging and then pressed the power button and it rebooted.
On reboot, then battery showed 50%. This happens maybe once week.

Thought I'm the only one who face this issue.
Mine is wifi SG version and happen once under HC and one more time under AiO US ICS firmware.
Both times I need to do a reset before it came back on.
Good Bye Tablet S
Sony customer care and technical support proved useless in identifying the issue. I pointed them to this and other forums where the same issue has been repeated. I have been asked to Factory Data Reset the tablet. Even after doing that I am facing the same problem. (Once a week now).
When I called them up again, they said I need to send it over to them for service and repair where they will try to diagnose the problem and possibly repair it if required.
As I am going back to India in mid June, my US warranty will be void on the tablet. So I did not want to continue with the Sony Repair process (cos chances are high that I'll face the same problem again and at that point there would be no warranty on the tablet where I could get it repaired/replaced for free).
So, with a lot of burden on my heart, I have moved on to Transformer Pad TF300.
I really loved my Sony Tablet S. However, the software support from Sony really isn't good. They are at least a lot better in the smart phone department.
Will probably go for sony once again when their next generation tablet comes out. Adios........and Good luck to all the tablet S owners.......I hope Sony fixes the issues.........cos customer satisfaction should be the no.1 priority for a company in order to compete with the very best.
As per sony dealer here in Saudi Arabia, sony's warranty works around the world, I asked specifically cause I'm not from here & planning to go home soon

I work 12 hour shifts on my feet, so even on my slower days I am pretty comfortably at my goal of 10k steps by mid afternoon and usually end the day with 15-18k. the last two days however I struggled to hit 10k by the end of my shift. I normally come home and throw my 360 sport on the charger and switch to my Huawei watch; yesterday I noticed that my step counting returned to normal after switching watches and then today I didn't even get to 8k on a day where I feel like I should have been closer to 15k. the only thing I can think that charged was my 360 got updated to 1.5. has anyone else experienced something similar? FYIW I'm using Google fit, not moto body.
I have also noticed a dramatic reduction, I am using fit as well. Perhaps it would be interesting to compare with moto body, when I used that before, the results were always similar give or take a hundred or so steps.
day 3 at work, 9 hours in and haven't cracked 5k. should probably be around 8-9 conservatively right now. gonna switch back to the sw3 tomorrow and see how it goes

I'm glad I'm not the only one! My step counts have DRASTICALLY decreased. Today we' took the dog for a walk, walked all over at a car show, cleaned the house, and I'm at 1,200 steps??!? My wife's fitbit is registering 6,500. Grrrr!
there are a few people having the issue on the Motorola forum too, but no fix. it seems to be OK when you're doing an activity, like when I'm very active it's fine, but the small things don't get counted. for example, I wear it to sleep and wake up with 0 steps, even though I get up to pee once or twice during the night.
hey guys,
My wife has the 360 2nd as well. She was complaining about this as well so I came here to look to see if anyone else is having the same problem, and we indeed are...
What can we do? Is there way to rollback the update?
She has a fitbit, and wore both on the same arm today and one shows the accurate 7-8K steps, where google fit has about 5300 and moto app had like 2k.
Any ideas? Rollback until 2.0 is the only thing I can think of. Not sure how to do i though.
one of the guys on the moto forum said he talked to moto cust service and they just rma'd the watch

Possible solution
I had the same issue, after the latest update. I decided to check what Androids treatment of the Body App was and whether it was setup to ignore optimisations like the Android Wear app. It wasn't, so checked it and the step count is now back to before the update. Strangely my battery life has increased also.
Settings --> Apps --> Menu --> Configure Apps --> Ignore optimisations --> Moto body needs to be checked.
This was carried out on a stock LG G4

interesting, but I've never had body installed
so I went as far as wearing two watches on Friday, my 360 sport and sw3. I paired my 360 with my Nexus 7 and set fit to a different account so they would be completely different. the Sony counted just over 19,500 steps, whereas the 360 finished the day just shy of 13k. armed with hard numbers I called moto yesterday. tier 2 said I could send it in for repair but couldn't tell me what they would repair since it seems related to software, or I could pay $25 for a replacement. tier 3 is going to call me tomorrow.

Don't send it in.
It's definitely a software problem. I work 8hrs/day (sometimes 12) and my job has me constantly moving around. I used to get between 14k and 30k steps per day. Now I'm getting 10k-12k. Same watch too.
There's nothing wrong with the hardware. They did something to the software, or they nerfed the way that the motion sensor counts steps. I'm wondering if they nerfed it to try and reduce inaccuracies caused by simply moving your wrist. (In other words, counting steps only, instead of counting wrist movements as steps). I'm not sure though. If this is the case, then it isn't working well.

Moto worked with me a bit on this and I thought we were getting somewhere, but then kind of our of the blue they called to say they were closing the ticket but it works be addressed in a future update. in the meantime I went back to my sw3, which had been flawless. has this issue been fixed by chance? id love to use the 360 again
Wondering if anyone else is having a problem with the g5 rebooting? I got a new phone and it lasted about a week and it started rebooting too.

The first unit I got in August was in sad shape; it rebooted many times just updating apps, then it glitched out several more times trying to use Bluetooth in the car. Then it finally died trying to run the GPS.
The second unit does better, but I do notice that if I run the battery too far down (less than 5%), the phone will overheat and reboot if I try to use it at that low battery level. It rebooted tonight while some apps were auto-updating at a low battery level; the phone was also noticeably warm.
I really don't know how else to replicate the problem except to run the battery to near-death. At that point it seems almost anything will trigger the overheat + reboot sequence.

Phone was on full charge, just woke it up and hit a widget and it froze. I wasn't updating anything I haven't had any other problems so far
This just started happening to me today. The sad thing is this G5 replaced a G4 about this same time last year when I had reboot issues. The lesson here is that LG phones will last about a year and then just constantly start rebooting on you.

It all depends. I have had a G2 forever, and the G Flex 2 since it came out, both work great. Actually starting to think my Flex 2 is smoother, but ATT left it for dead with no updates since last year. So, while a few may have troubles, not all do.
My reboot issues seem to be getting worse... Twice now within the past month I've had the G5 go totally berserk, reboot looping like crazy for hours on end; then all of a sudden it stops looping and carries on like it never happened. It's always triggered by letting the battery run down to near 10-20%.
I'm starting to suspect this is a bad battery and considering getting a replacement. (Maybe it's also just a flaw in the modular design; at least this battery doesn't explode, just drives the hardware bonkers.)

My G5 used to reboot often when using the Chrome app. I cleared the cache and installed Chrome Beta and made it the default browser app. That seemed to fix the reboot issue. My G5 has been very stable for months and doesn't randomly reboot. The Smart Doctor app does remind me to reboot to improve performance. Maybe deleting suspect apps and corrupted cache files could fix your reboot issues.
Is this an issue with rooted or unrooted phones...

Anyone else's watch decide it's not going to stay connected to the phone anymore? I can connect, but it disconnects within a minute or two. Sometimes going to the menu reconnects it, but it doesn't last long. I tried FDR, clearing all the cache on the phone I could, verified the phone works. No dice.
I had the same problem occur after I upgraded to AW2 and the only thing that fixed it was to manually downgrade to AW 1.5 otherwise the watch was unuseable due to the constant disconnect and reconnect requests.
Interesting. I've been on AW2 for a while and didn't have the issue till that day. My phone has upgraded to Oreo but that was also a while before this. Maybe there was a Wear update that caused it. The radios still work as it does connect, but like you said it's constantly being dropped.
I do notice similar behavior with a BT thermometer I have. I can't use my Nexus 5X with it since once I close the phone the connection is lost. Maybe there's a Doze issue with it. I should try connecting the watch to my Nexus 5 and see if it has the same issues.
I have literally been dealing with this same issue for weeks now, I posted in multiple threads about it. I also narrowed it down to doze (same exact issue). However I was already running wear 1.5 when it started happening. Formatted phone (Nexus 6P with oreo) and watch, still doesn't work, tried all kinds of settings, nothing. If you figure something out please let me know. Ill post here if I do.
Same issue. Moto Z2 Play and Zenwatch 2 with AW 2.
Have only had the Z2 Play for a month and had no issues, until this week. Intermittent pairing requests and the watch falls off of the phone's Bluetooth list, while remaining in the Android Wear app.
Maddening.
Will rooting and reverting the watch to AW 1.5 solve this?
Since last update, my watch never was the same. TouchScreen doesn't work and battery drains within 1 day.
I've tried to disconnect and reconnect to app, but it didn't work.
The watch is new and still in warranty, what should i do?
EDIT: Touch is working, this is what i did. => 1st - Factory Reset [watch buttons save me]. 2nd - Unplugged From App. 3rd - Plug to App without loading the old data.
Battery still with issues... 50% = 8h
Last update meaning 2.3.7.0?
This update also totally ruined my watch and like you repairing / rebooting etc etc makes no difference.
I'd be happy to roll back to 2.3.5.0 but seems this can't be done without unlocking the bootloader and therefore voiding warranty?
So I think options now as looking for a refund? I'd be happy to exchange for a replacement with 2.3.5.0 too.

My touch it's working now. I've restored factory data and then unplugged from my phone, and it worked. But i still have issue with the battery.... 50% lasted 8h, how can this be possible?

Mine dropped down to about 63% after about 6 hours, so that seems similar to mine.
On previous 2.3.5.0 firmware I used to lose about 2% overnight with continuous heart rate monitoring or about 5% a day with not much activity. I don't think Huami test their firmware, they just roll it out and let us mugs find the problems, trashing the watches in the process
I'm now on my 3rd day trying to sort out this disastrous 'upgrade' :crying:
New update on this matter:
My watch stopped charging. Don't know how.
Recently shipped back to Honorbuy, hope they fixed it, it was in warranty.
