Ok first ever post, I seek answers !!!
My S2 has started doing some very odd things -
1st it started returning to the clock desktop screen when pressing the home button instead of returning to the proper home screen, now its randomly launching into the Voice talk app screen by itself ?? I have tried a full reset and removed all non standard apps and this hasnt solved the problem.
Battery Drain is full to 0 in about 3 hours with limited use and if I turn it off it actually turns itself back on by itself !
Any ideas, Im assuming its ****** !
Great phone up until this point !
mine starts the voice command by itself too. its irritating at times. Also i have noticed that my battery drains faster than usual. Not sure why its causing
mine has bee launching that damned voice talk thing, too. it normally happens when i preas the home button, and it drives me nuts hecause it even talks aloud when i expect the phone to be silent. (where's the freaking global mute??)
Well if you press the Home button twice then Voice Talk will start. To reduce battery drainage, go to settings, Un-check Use location and Wake Up command. And disable Car mode when not needed,
Sorry, I forgot to edit my post (was going to before i got distracted by other tasks), but I meant to take out the "when I press the home button" part since it was redundant. What I meant was that it happens when I press it just once. I understand that double press launches it, it's why it annoys so much when it launches with just one press.

did you guys ever get a fix for this? cause i get this aswell.. and it's driving me ****ing nuts!!! running KG6
u could try force closing in running apps inside settings/applications/running apps?? i get the same ocasionally and that method seems to work for me?
Have Same problem
I have the same problem as you, my voice talk app is launching very often by it self for me 2. I tried to reset my phone to factory settings but didn't work, and my battery is only lasting for max 12hours+-, depends on my use.
Can se in the battery usage that my phone OS is using 96% battery and screen is using 2% an 2% for something else.(don't remember because im offshore and can't use mobile phone here) normaly the Android OS should use less more than 96%
This is very fustrating!! do annyone know what to do here?? probably root the phone an delete the Voice Talk App ??? or can there be some problem with the phone electronics that makes the phone act this strange??
Hope someone finds this out!!
I love this phone but this is making me crazy!! hehe
Voice talk starting can't turn off solved!!!!!
Was driving me nuts but finally found how to turn off the annoying voice talk by F*****G VERLINGO. Go to Settings, Motion then turn off double tap it has worked for me thank F**K.
My question is... why did all our phones started having the same problem at the same time... I've turned off double tap and it seems to have worked for me too, but that is not a definitive solution, cause it was allways turned on and there were no prob before. My problem started about 3months after i upgraded my phone to ICS.

Was any solution found for this problem? My S2 is not only launching tap and speak, but playing music, putting itself in to car mode, re-booting itself. Battery draining extra quick and taking all day to re-charge. It's posessed.
hello.
i have a 32 gb hp touchpad overclocked.
when i turn it on i have sound working good.
but after very quicly, it have no more sound at all (even when i push the sound + or soung - button, i see the sound logo going up and down but no sound)
and if i turn it off and on the sound come back.
do you know what can be the problem ?
Thank you
Happens to me ALL THE TIME. I just chalk it up to WebOS being completely unfinished. But then again it could be some of the patches I have installed, since I spent all of about 3 minutes without them.
Me too, I read that Making a call in skype will bring sound back.
Apparently it helps to disable system sound, keyboard and vibrate.
Happened to me twice more today. So annoying.
Happens to mine pretty much daily. I don't see a whole lot of *****ing in general about it though, mostly here and Precentral, which leads me to believe it's mostly "modified" touchpads with this problem. I'm thinking it's a patch or kernal problem.
It's most likely a problem with a kernel or patch. I have 3 16GB's, two stock, one modded, and none of them exhibit this behavior. Since all of you have modded yours, I suggest removing patches/kernels and see if the problem persists.

Install the Preware Linux App > Increase TouchPad Volume ( Lite)............
See if it makes a difference
I haven't figured out what causes it for me, but a simple solution to fix it without having to restart is to run a couple commands in xterm..
stop pulseaudio
start pulseaudio
Sound goes off (ANNOYING)
Why does the sound go off all of a sudden, I hate it, I can't even hear youtube videos, it requires a restart
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
Finally , I had to disable the email audible notification (left the vibrate only). Now it has been OK for more than 1 week, before it will lose sound in a few hours.
Hope HP get's this resolved.
Thanks

If you install the "Advanced Reset Options" patch, you can use it to restore your sound...
Just hold the power switch until the buttons show up, then tap "Cancel".
Hi,
Advanced Reset option does not fix the issue for me (unless I select Reset).
Sound fails even if the only App I have opened since a full reboot is the email App.
Maybe one of the installed Logging patches is causing the sound to drop out? Maybe we should enable logging to see if the logs give any indication around what is causing the sound issue?
this issue was happening to me everything my touchpad would go idle for longer than an hour (super annoying) however I gave all the suggestions here a try and finally had luck with robrob777's suggestion! Turning my email notification sounds to vibrate has seemed to fix my issue hasn't happened in 2 days. Just wanted to say thanks robrob777!

There's an article over on precentral about fixing the problem, though it really isn't a fix, but rather a way of getting your sound back without a reboot. See it at:

Sorry about the format of the link, but forum rules for newbies prvented me from posting it properly. Since it obviously isn't spam, I am hoping I won't be in trouble for it.
It's complicated, and you might find a reboot easier, but perhaps some developer who's into patches will spot it and come up with a more permanent fix, either to fix the problem itself, or at the very least, to have the stop/start fix applied when the volume control button reaches max and is pressed again once or twice.
Update: It just became a little easier to apply the start/stop "fix". XServer, Xterm, and Xecutah just became available on webos-internals (.org). Just use Preware, select Applications, All, and the new stuff will show at the top of the page. Just download Xecutah and the other two packages will download with it if you allow it.
Update 2: Even easier...
After installing the X stuff, start Xecutah and create a shell script in the default directory you land in with Xecutah. I just used cat and typed it in.
cat >fixaudio
Here's what I put in it...
#!/bin/sh
stop pulseaudio
start pulseaudio
Then, fix up permissions...
chmod 070 fixaudio
(It's been a while since I used Unix/Linx, but I'm sure someone will correct my permissions choice if it's not right).
Then, when your sound goes away, start Xecutah and type fixaudio.
Even better... Use Preware to find an app called PulseAudio Restarter. Works well.
Guys,
I have had this issue before but somehow resolved it months ago, but for the life of me I cannot remember how it was fixed.
My problem is my Music volume will not go above the half way mark, all other volume levels go up and down freely, but no matter what I do the music volume will not go higher than half way. I have changed the volume lots of times, but every time I check the volume is has returned to half way. I have rebooted the phone several times and the issue still persists.
Anyone have an idea of what the cause is and a solution?
I recently reflashed to 2.45 and rooted the phone again, my BL is locked, just to help you guys identify my setup/phone environment.
Thanks guys.
!I had frozen "COM.SONYERICSSON.SOUNDLEVELALERT", unfreezing it and turning up the volume brought up the alert, clicked OK and turned the volume higher. Froze "com.sonyericsson.soundlevelalert" again and played with the volume, now it goes higher without issue and at will!
Hi,
I own a Meizu MX4 and have reached at a dead end of solutions for the problem that I am experiencing. Hoping to know if there is any ways that the phone can still be salvaged instead of becoming a paper weight.
Basically, the phone will randomly but frequently increase the volume to the maximum on its own without pressing any buttons or touching the screen. This renders the phone virtually unusable as the volume popup will constantly appear on screen. I attached a video of the "phenomenon".
Things I've tried (to no avail):
- Sent back for warranty twice but came back with the same problems again and now the device is no longer in warranty
- Factory reset multiple times
- Flash various different firmwares
- Tried various volume locker apps on play store
I can't exactly pinpoint the cause of the problem as reflashing the software does not seem to fix the problem. Now, I was thinking whether it is possible to completely disable audio or volume adjustment capabilities/services through software mods. I am currently rooted with xposed framework installed if that helps. Hope to hear from all your ideas. Pretty much at a loss right now. Cheers!
Hi all, first of all... I am posting this here because I've discovered this "feature" via my S10, but it probably isn't necessarily a S10 feature. It just never happened with my S7 and my work iPhone doesn't replicate it either.
Right, so if you open a private message/conversation on Instagram and with your screen on, flip the phone with the screen facing down, it will start recording audio (you will notice a little vibration if you have vibrations activated).
The behaviour gets even weirder if you keep your phone facing down long enough before you turn it again... as the screen stays completely switched off but the app still records audio. It takes a few tries to turn the screen back on. However, if you turn the phone again shortly after the vibration, it will flash back on again.
Anybody noticed this before? Is quite unusual and I cannot really tell why this is even a feature... other than secretly recording a conversation?
Huh, just tried it and you are totally right. I'm guessing it's a bug. I never send direct messages on instagram but that definitely seems like it could be a big problem. I tried a quick google search and couldn't find anything about it either.
It's so you can put your phone up to your face (like if you had a phone call) it will record an audio message for you automatically. It's doing what it is supposed to but it does make sense to be a little bit worried about this. Instagram should implement some way to disable this feature.
Its like the same on whatsapp when you listening to an voice message and And tilt your phone in your hand as if you were on the phone it will be black too thats a stupid function in the s10
