Hi,
new version of software was released in some regions for mark III:
Xperia 1 III (XQ-BC52)
The latest software and firmware versions for the Xperia 1 III (XQ-BC52) XperiCheck.com checks the Sony servers every 5 minutes to always display the latest information.

Looks like just a security patch and nothing else. Too bad stubborn sony still does not post the changelog :/

Looks better than "just a security patch" from the translation here:
Sony Xperia officially announced the Xperia 1 III software update instructions today. The new version of the Xperia 1 III system software 61.0.A.11.92 will be released soon. This version is mainly for further optimization of the system temperature control algorithm, more in-depth optimization adjustments with reference to some popular games, and improvement of the stability of the network connection.

Of course I could be wrong but the network stability is a welcome fix!

You can check my video here for details
The version just showed up for me (Germany).
Installed it and it works fine. Will check for improvements later.
Hi,
Available yesterday afternoon in France (device bought through offical store), just after first smartphone siwtch on
No problems since.
Not sure if anyone else experienced it, but my battery life has been noticably better since this update.
What I noticed too is much worse gaming performance. I think they capped GPU clock too much. Many times it does not work in 120Hz at all.
Anyone know why the XQ-BC62 version is NOT getting any of the last two updates?
I received the "latest" available update a few minutes after setting up the phone. Actually is came while setting it up.

No I did not. I purchased from B&H the USA version and it is running factory installed software. While I was in the middle of setting it up the phone did receive an OTA update and subsequent checks state that the phone is "up to date". My current build = 61.0.A.11.23 which was released 3 weeks and 6 days ago.
But the latest build for the UK version = 61.0.A.11.92 and has been available for the last 17-19 days.
The fact that Sony doesn't list the fixes or changes in an update makes it nearly impossible to know if these two builds are basically the same or not.
The latest firmware for USA Version seems to be 61.0.A.11.23. Good luck for receiving OTA shortly!

Note that the 2 UK builds you see are for the 1IIIs sold by EE & O2 , which are tied to these networks. The 1 III not tied to any network, which I have, hasn't been updated as yet. Customized UK is still on 61.0.A.11.23. I'm still waiting for the update.

Thanks for the clarification. Being from the US I do not entirely know about all the various UK carriers.
Wow, what is going on with the Customized UK version? Wonder how long we're going to have to wait for 61.0.A.11.92
EDIT: Just got the update !
Got the 61.0.A.11.92 update today for my UK SIM free Xperia 1 iii today. Not sure what got updated.
So I was mucking around with the fone 20 minutes ago and it came through. I've updated, so now I'm going to go play around with it...
I received the .92 update today and it is stuck on "Installing 3/3"
rebooting does not help.
I did a factory reset. The update came down again. I did not install ANYTHING from backup at all.
The update is still stuck at 3/3.
Between Gmail being broken and now this I am thinking of sending it back as a piece of junk!
Does anyone have any suggestions for this update spinning endlessly?
UPDATE: I was able to connect the phone to my laptop and run Xperia Companion and it allowed me to download and install the .92 update even while the previous attempt was still spinning at 3/3. Sony needs to get THEIR POOP IN A GROUP! I am grateful for the Xperia Companion app but this should not be needed for a simple update! All of this is leaving a very sour taste in my mouth! This is 2021 and Android is a fairly mature platform. Nobody should have to go through all of this just to get their $$$$$$ phone running properly. If Sony cannot figure this stuff out...then it's time to QUIT just like LG did!!!
SO now I have to go through all my setup all over again. PITA
I got .92 this morning here in the US, on Verizon network no issues.
on tmobile in us. updated to .92 with no problems. step 3/3 does take time to instal, longer than 1/3 and 2/3

OK, how much longer? How long was I supposed to wait? After several minutes (I didn't time it) I gave up!
When I used the Xperia Companion it only took a few seconds just like 1/1 and 2/2.

502 lollipop for france is out for g850f.
i have a question - there is a chain or a specific path that samsung follow for releasing updates in specific regions?
to be more specific when lollipop arrives in romania for galaxy alpha g850f?
i saw that orange lollipop has been released for g850f in romania, but for the unlocked variant is still missing!
if someone has any idea about region releases, please post some details and i will give a BIG THANKS!
michael
no one?
somebody? any clues?
WTF?
There is no Orange Lollipop ... there is only a late update to KITKAT from Orange Romania that as usual is the crappiest mobile provider ever!
yep, sorry, my bad!
i saw something wrong.
still, about when will the update drops nearby, from first french release, there is a country pattern or something?
Nope, it could be hours, days, weeks, months depending on the mobile providers. The France release could be a test phase and after if results are positive they could go global.
Problems with software could lengthen the process and the recent apps button bug that some experienced is bound to do just that.
Or you could update to lollipop with odin. But so far only the french version is out.
5.0.2 is out in france. You can download the update from sammobile.com. Go to their site, search for galaxy alpha in firmware section, then follow the links to download it. When done, follow the tutorial on how to install odin and drivers for windows PC.I did this, first try and worked like a charm. I'm using 'international' 850F. It's really a simple procedure.
yes, but...
i have installed the french version, but i need my country version when comes out from the motive that i hope is less buggy...
there are tests now to ensure the other versions are bugless, but i dont know how many weeks we must wait for.
in the end they will push the 5.1.1 update, cuz 5.0.2 is difficult to make it clean considering google got issues too with him
when on android we have to be able to control oure frustrations regarding updates, especially from oure carriers ...so...
KEEP CALM AND WAIT FOR IT cuz im not calm and im reconsider my next strategy of buying future phone
anyone with some news about when lollipop is released in other regions? ...for G850F
there are 2 weeks from france release?
how much do we have to wait?
i hope not another 2...
The best sourse for news remains Sammobile. When the update is ready, it will be posted there. We just have to have patience.

It is carrier specific. The french version is basically a test release to the public and all carriers get the same firmware. It is up to them to release that version related to them.
Basically dont blame samsung, ask your carrier when it will be released
what carrier? i'm a free carrier user! i relay on a carrier just with contract but phone was bought from shop. i can choose any carrier i want! so... who gives the updates for unlocked phones? it's samsung, i think.
corret me if not

Your csc is your carrier since thats what you were asking for, in my case my unbranded DBT alpha still has to wait for debital, the german unbranded version.
Also since you dont care, then you have your version with the french release.

Doesnt matter, it will work on the SM-G850F regardless and its a new build. Plus this is a thread about Region updates.
I would flash but I dont have time at the moment but I am sure its featured with multiple CSC's so it should not effect the use to anyones area. All SM-G850F have the same hardware and features. The difference in CSC are region tailored with specific bloatware and minor differences like lockscreen shortcuts and signal icons (some use LTE and others will have 4G). Most importantly this build has a new changelog which means Samsung may have fixed some issues with the French build.
Can i get it on danish?

Helloo,
So, if i flash the new UAE, can i still get everything on Danish? I mean, is there multiple language on? English would be fine too ..
Another thing, would this trigger knox? Thinking its not a custom, but a official ROM from Samsung, so it shouldn't trigger, am i right or?
I haven't flashed it yet but I believe it will have all supported languages. It won't trip Knox as long as its official from Samsung it won't touch knox.

The info given at source (link above) looks quite valid:
- No CM14/AOSP 7.0 ROM availabel for G930P, so it must be official firmware in use here.
- RAM is down, and so are the benchmark scores, so this is a test build, not a fake 6.0 one.
What do you guys think?

It is real, I have the update on my phone. You can get it by resgistering for the beta through the galaxy beta app from the galaxy app store.
I can confirm, for I have it as well. Very nice update. Do NOT let the benchmarks thwart you...it is faster.

Do you mean settings on the phone or within the app? . Sorry

Did anyone get the official Nougat update on this model number SM-G930P yet?
I thought beta users get's it first, isn't it true?

Ditto. Been a while since we got another beta update. I am still not happy with the battery drain and the phone gets sluggish at times.

Exactly my thoughts, battery drain, memory leaks, apps force closing. I'm so done with this. Waiting for the official update now.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one experiencing the extreme lag after a period of time. It's to the point that I must restart every day for the phone to be useable. My phone gets downright lethargic after a few minutes sometimes if I'm using navigation (doesn't matter which app).
The battery drain is irritating...but jot nearly as bad as the lag.

ah that makes sense
If I'm not mistaken, this version is only meant for Asian market?
I'm in Europe, I don't have any updates available.
My phone model is COL-L29, and the latest installed version is 8.1.0.151 (C432).
It's already unofficially uploaded
Official roll outs in Europe and Asia tomorrow.
I own a c675 l09 sand just received b174 update, others report pie a few days later.
I'm expected to receive tomorrow or thereafter.
But that view 20.. You seen it?
I have received the EMUI 9.0 but don't find it worthwhile at all. Several of the Android Pie new features are not available.
The AI battery is not there and there is no change at all in the battery management.
The dark theme is not there either.
The new gesture is not well implemented and to my taste not usable. For instance swiping on that little thin middle bottom bar does not allow going through the tasks (you must still swippe on the task area itself).
Moreover one of the most negative changes of Pie, that is the inability to record calls, has been implemented on EMUI 9. 0.
Some other add-on are really of barely any use. For instance Honor has now a Google lens lookalike (the ability to scan a photo and detect objects) but just not as good as the genuine one which is already available before Android Pie.
So all in all I rather regret the upgrade and do not recommend it.

How is your battery performance? I think it might be draining battery a bit faster. I already did factory reset after upgrade. I agree it's missing the Adaptive Battery option I seen in some reviews of Pie.

I have the Hong Kong version, Sony ha not released any update, only one app update.
Well, XPERIA 1 III is a special model - if you flash firmware of OTHER REGION, you will not be receiving any OTA. I found this by dialing *#*#7378423#*#* - normally you can find your region code in 'Software Info'. If you flash other version, Phone Software Version will be GLOBAL-C2-user, not HK or TW.

That's interesting. I have mine showing "GLOBAL-C2 - user". But I also received the 61.0.A.11.92 OTA.
(I didn't flash, btw.)

Just bought a 2nd hand Xperia 1 III 512G in China .
Seller said it's from H.K. but I'm not sure since the charger plug is 2 pins - For China & Taiwan
Not the 3 pins - For UK & HK . The charger type # shown as - AC-0540-CN
Current software version 61.0.A.23.20 / GLOBAL-C2 - user
Have all the Google apps and that's the reason I have to buy 2nd hand HK version since Chinese version don't have al the Google apps
My question .
It's 3/23 ; I still did not get OTA for Android 12 . I think this phone might be flashed before it's with me
How will I know if the phone is original from HK or original China version and flashed the ' GLOBAL-C2 ' software .
you have the china version, if you have the hk version the adapter is AC-0540-hk or XQZ-UC11 and the android 12, its regional, hong kong already has the android 12 update along time ago. whether yours is hk or china, if its f/w flashed, it makes no different.
btw the hong kong version is also a chinese version, but it has googles.b

Google search the below, xxx is your Sony Product Code. Click on the link that starts with software.sonymobile.com, usually the first one.
Code:
sony xxx
example from your screenshot would be as below.
Code:
sony 43040280
Search for the product code number on that page. If it matches, look at the <name> field at the top to find out your region.
It looks like you have a Customized_CN product.
You have a Chinese region phone flashed with HK firmware. In this case you will not get OTA, as mentioned by other people in this forum who tried flashing other region firmware. They do not get OTA.
Yes , I do believe above is just the situation I'm facing . What I don't understand is
Current version of 61.0.A.23.20 were OTA updated from earlier version when I go the phone and reset everything
Since I can get last OTA ; Why I can't get the Android 12 OTA
Is it possible you got scammed/lied to? That your phone is actually a China region phone with China region firmware. If it is then the behavior described above makes sense. As seen in the link below, the China region firmware was on the same version you are stuck on before receiving their Android 12 update.
Xperia 1 III (XQ-BC72) - Customized CN
The latest software and firmware versions for the Xperia 1 III (XQ-BC72) XperiCheck.com checks the Sony servers every 5 minutes to always display the latest information.
xpericheck.com
The China version only recently got the Android 12 update. And according to Chinese message board sources mentioned from:
New Update / Xperia 1 III / 61.1.A.4.78
forum.xda-developers.com
This latest update will be released on a new staggered schedule, meaning some phones get it first, others get it later in china. It means you may get the Android 12 update OTA later than expected. Maybe lets observe if you are getting the OTA update above. If you are, you may have been conned.
This device finally seems like a worthy buy if one wants to go into the Samsung ridden 4nm fabrication 8 gen 1 CPU. Best temperatures and lowest throttling of all phones with that chip.
One can only hope if Realme releases it with an unlocked bootloader right at launch for it to get a proper aftermarket dev support.
Well, I am planning to consider a Realme smartphone, GT2 Pro is looking really a great phone, but unlocking bootloader and rooting is mandatory to me and i really don't know what to do.....
I guess on realme phones is not easy like xiaomi / google devices doing that. At last unlocking the bootloader could be easy but how is difficult to find official ROM updates in order to patch the boot image to install magisk?
Honestly after years with OnePlus I needed a change of pace, and this Realme catched my interest, same doubt of others, I'm using Magisk and root privilegies for small thing that probably won't hurt my experience, but I'd like to have the possibility to unlock the bootloader and install/modify things in order to get a better experience.
Let's cross fingers and hope for some developments, probably I'm going to buy it at or close to launch for the early bid discount.

Global Realme are nearly impossible to be unlocked, that is why i asked.....
This promising to be a very good phone, but xiaomi is always the 1st choice for people who need the phone to be unlocked......
It should be possible to convert the Chinese version which I have to the Global one. It's been possible on previous GT series.

But you need to unlock the bootloader.....
I hope it only take a while to be unlocked.... I've bought the chinese version. Ok it work fine, only some features here and there that give me some trouble, like not work "ok google" but instead there is this Breeno app that I absolute hate and other minor annoying things. For the rest its a very premium phone.
I hope someone with the EU/Global version will tell us something soon.
For mnow I have debloated all chinese apk and unuseful apps from ADB command (can't with Breeno main app, the search bar, market and whatsoever all gone), work fine, but the Google services doesn't work at their best. Wait for EU/global indication (if possible)

Dunno how the situation is in other country, but here in Italy Realme made some really bad moves.
The 100€ discount for the early bids became a 50€ discount for the 8/128 and a pair of buds for 12/256 (official site), on amazon IT the discount is right but it's available at the end of march.
So... I thing I'll keep my OnePlus 7T and wait

Well... I'm from Italy too....
Interested in the 12/256 version.
Used for a while the EU version of this phone thanks to a reviewer who gave me it for a day.
All I can say, it's a good phone with some bugs. Pictures are really great.
The problem is unlocking bootloader and installing magisk is mandatory to me and I already know that with Realme it's not easy as Xiaomi or Oneplus..... (Updates etc etc...).
So... let's see what will happen..... (including wating for the Xiaomi 12 Ultra too...)
I'm really planning to get this phone. Hopefully we'll see bootloader unlocking and custom ROM development on it.
So how do we know if it’s unlockable?
I have the global GT 2 Pro, in the DEV OPs „Unlock OEM“ is available
You can try to enable developer option, then enable OEM Unlock and USB debugging.
Then you can try to search and download the app Depth Testing 1.1.0 and try to apply.
If that app works, you can reboot to bootloader and type
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
Note that your phone will be wiped and all will be erased.....
That is the main problem of Realme phones, unlocking bootloader must be approved......

I've tried it but no luck...
Same here. Looks they locked the app out.
Can we able to unlock the bootloader in the future? Or realme won't give us the permission?
