Hello everyone does anyone in this thread know if it's possible to unlock the bootloader on the At&t model? I know most devices from carriers are forever locked but I was just curious as I was interested in purchasing it but only if it could be unlocked.
Thanks in advance cheers!
I'd highly suggest getting a US network unlocked variant which will be compatible with AT&T and other networks and will qualify for the Motorola bootloader unlock program. Carrier exclusive models (Verizon, ATT, Boost) tend to come with permanently locked bootloaders. The only exception I've encountered are the Tmobile/Metro and Google Fi variants which do allow you to unlock.
I've been trying to root mine forever now it seems like. I downloaded KingRoot and when rooting it said follow us and gives me a QR code which I'm not sure what to do with

Root king will at best only give you temp root, meaning it will have to reroot after every reboot.
Thanks

I can't link to the article since I have less than 10 posts so just google it to find it.
Some guy did this and I was hoping the HDX is vulnerable. I don't really know how to check so I was just letting everyone know so if someone wanted to check so we can get some unlocked goodness going.
Thanks
Yeah, apparently he has made even a demonstration of the script on the Black Hat. He said that devices like S5 and M8 are patches so only devices like M7, S4, G2 N5 , Note3 (Snapdragon 600 & 800), which means there is still hope...

both my devices are waiting on the same damn bootloader unlock =\
Hopefully it's released soon.
If they made a universal unlocking script or something, we could use it and get past that legality thing with unlocking tablets and whatnot.
Hi,
Please help me to unlock My LG V10. I already try using some 3rd party sites to unlock my phone but still they cannot calculate the unlock code for me. I just also wondering why my unit has engraved word to bottom right part saying "Not for Sale H960A Rev 1.0". I also contacted T-Mobile US to help me but they cannot perform the calculation of my unlock codes unless I subscribe to one of the Plans they offer. I don't know if this is a demo unit. I'm from the Philippines and I just really want to use my Phone to our Local Network Carrier.
I already don't know what to do now. Hope someone can really help me. Thank you.

impossible to unlock because the IMEI is not in T-mobile's database and can never be added to the database even if purchase one of their plans. IMEI must be in T-mobile's database for the unlock app to work.
Plus... H960A is the European model, not the T-Mobile one... (H901).
My original M9 battery is not holding a charge after about 3 years of faithful service. I was able to pickup a new M9 and would like to root it. It is a AT&T phone and my current provider is AT&T.
How should I go about rooting this phone should I put it on my AT&T account and then root after it gets an update or should I try and root it first ?
I am happy with stock but I do like Viper Rom (but worried that there might not be much more development in terms of custom roms for the M9)
Thanks for any help or guides you can point me to

Unlocked bootloader and have been doing OTA updates but cant see to update past Android 6.0 3.38.502.12
just tried to do a RUU_HIMA_UL_N70_SENSE80_ATT_MR_Cingular_US_4.27.502.7 update but it did not work, OTA updates keeps saying nothing to update please try again later (tried trick to set date forward but still nothing is found)
Any help would be great
Found that I might have to run RUU_HIMA_UL_M60_SENSE70_ATT_MR_Cingular_US_3.38.502.17.exe
But as the bootloader is unlocked it wont allow me to run it as it fails with a 155 error.
Trying
fastboot oem lock
and appears to run with out error but on reboot bootloader is still unlocked
ANY Help would be great about now
Hello. I have an unlocked ATT version of S9 plus.
I flashed unlocked firmware to it but after reading so many pie thread, I'm beginning to question if I flashed the phone correctly.
Its been receiving OTA update regularly and its on ARL1.
I THINK I read somewhere in XDA that if you are on truly unlocked firmware, phone must read xaa/xaa/xaa. However, mine shows xaa/xaa/att? (currently on mintsim service which uses tmobile network I believe)
Can someone tell me if I did anything wrong as I have limited knowledge of android phones and I would like to correct it before pie update.
Thanks in advance.
You should be all good. The last one is showing the original software provider version that never changes from flashing carrier firmwares or unlocked firmwares. Basically it shows what the phone was born as I guess is a way you could look at it.
Bought mine directly from Samsung and mine also says that.

something like change.org or anything that could make our device more accessible to rooting and moding. I've had it for 2 days and I'm already bored without root and stuff.
I've had it for 6 months... Welcome

Not entirely, that is needed so the Anroid Os is open to bootloader unlock, none the less it will not change the actual bootloader state so you will not be able to root it.
at this point the only way to unlock bootloader I could find usefuel is reverting to EMUI 9.1 open the back panel and short testpoint, then unlock the bootloader form the PC. for this last step I used a paid app... it is worth trying other options though.
