Hello, I choose 4K30 in Video settings, but next time I open the camera app, it goes back to 1080p30. Is this a bug in MIUI 12.5.5.0? Thanks.
Just ho to the *camera settings > *save previous mode (toggle the option)
To open the "camera settings" just go to
...> open camera and then
> three horizontal line or more option button (on the right top most part of your screen)
Thanks but this for camera to remember the mode (Photo Vs. Video) next time when you open. The video resolution still goes back to 1080p30. It does not remember 4K30.

This is a minor annoyance but sometimes I just want to open my camera app and browse photos while my phone is laying on my desk, but when I open the camera app it automatically goes landscape mode and I have to pick the phone up to get it back to portrait. Any body know of a way to cancel this auto-landscape feature in the camera app?
Edit: Just realized I could just go to the "photos" app directly and bypass the camera. This opens in portrait. But also adds another icon to my homescreen. I'd like to just use the camera icon for all of this, so still would like to hear any ideas anyone has
In settings > display and gestures do you have Auto rotation checked?
Mine opens in portrait.
What do you think Your Xiaomi Mi3 is capable of?? Lets Explore..

Thanks. Nice tutz.
Tried the two tuts relative to Snap Camera, works like a charm. Glad i have the 64GB model, or else the 4K videos would be impossible to make really
Thank you!
You have to use other camera apps other than snap camera for this... I used open camera..
1. Add this to your build.prop 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1' (no quotes)
2. Reboot
3. Install open camera (or other app) and record videos now
Don't enable the "use camera2 api" in open camera setting tho...
Hope this helps
All,
I am coming from a V10 to the V30 and there is an annoying aspect to the camera that's different and that are driving me nuts. I'm wondering if there's anyway to fix it or change the behavior of the camera.
1: I shoot on manual 100% of the time. I never use auto mode. When I close the camera or switch to another app and restart it, it goes from Manual/Pro back to auto mode. On the V10 it stayed in the mode I last left it (in my case manual). How can I make this work the way the V10 did? I hate auto mode since it doesn't save as RAW, and I lose shots because I have to change modes every time.
You can create a shortcut icon on your homescreen that goes straight into manual stills shooting mode. Long press on the camera icon and you'll get about four options. Each option has a handle on it that you can drag out and create another shortcut icon for that particular item. That's what I've done.
If you're using Nova, press and hold on the camera icon, then press and hold on Manual Camera, drag it onto your desktop.
This is not launcher dependent. It's a feature of the version of Android.
Hello, I picked up my device and upgraded to 12.5.5 EU rom with regular OTA. Couple of questions where I couldn't find answers with Google.
1. Stock camera app does not remember the setting for 4K30 in Video settings. I select 4K30 but next time I open the app the setting goes back to 1080p30. Anyone has this issue?
2. Is there a way to set Google Photos as default photo app in stock camera app instead of Gallery?
3. I use app drawer but the phone keeps adding newly installed apps to the home screen. There was a toggle for this but couldn't find it in settings. Any ideas?
So far seems like a nice device. Good size and lightweight. I will install BSG Gcam on it but I still would like to use Stock camera for videos.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Also make sure battery optimization is on and app not allowed to run in background (unless needed of course). Some apps/processes are also called by other apps. Ultimately root is the way to go if you want full control.
Hello, manisa 236!
First I want to apologize for my English. I am still learning it. In this post I will try to answer some of your questions.
1. Stock camera app does not remember the setting for 4K30 in Video settings. I select 4K30 but next time I open the app the setting goes back to 1080p30. Anyone has this issue?
Open the stock camera app and go to settings, scroll down and activate "Save previous mode" slider.
2. Is there a way to set Google Photos as default photo app in stock camera app instead of Gallery?
I don't know it that is possible.
3. I use app drawer but the phone keeps adding newly installed apps to the home screen. There was a toggle for this but couldn't find it in settings. Any ideas?
Go to "Settings --> Home screen" and open the inside menu cold again "Home screen" and at the bottom of this menu you shall see the option "Place new apps on the Home screen" toggle. Just disable it.
Greetings from Spain!
Thank you very much for your answers. In camera app Save Previous Mode remembers the shooting mode (Photo, Video, Portrait etc ) but when I choose 4K30 under Video and open the app next time it still defaults to 1080p30. It looks like a bug.
