Is anyone able to make sharp panoramic and/or spheric (Google camera) photos? My pictures are blurred on every AOSP ROM (ANdroid 6 and 7).
"Prove" would be great.
The Google Cam is known to take blurry panoramas and spherical photos in some phones, especially those that don't natively support it. You'd better try other camera solutions
I tried many camera apps, but every single app took blurred photos.
Edit: "A Better Camera" does work.
gcam for p smart 2019
Use Open Camera
Tried every possible gcam port. None of them is working properly. Then I downloaded Open Camera, used it before on another phone. The jpg or png that come straight out of the app are ok, a bit better than stock. But the DNG, raw files, have so much more potential. For critical shots, take the raw files, do some quick editing on Adobe Lightroom (free app) and you'll be amazed how much detail is available. The raw files are on par with my LG G6 pictures. It's just that the in camera jpg processing is not that great. The sensor though is able to capture lots of details. For normal shots the stock camera is fine.
Stock photo camera is fine but video camera is awfull!
Google cam from Arnova8G2 GCam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.5.190418.1850.apk work on my P Smart 2019
Picture, Video, Lens Blur, Panorama and HDR mode work well.
Only thing that didn't work are Portrait and Night mode.

Is video stabilization while recording better than on stock camera?
Hi guys
I've seen that many people are interested to get anx camera working. I'm on newest syberia and anx is working.
But I'm wondering why all wanna have this app.
In my comparision anx cam to gcam there's for me a clear winner (you'll see a big difference if you zoom in the pictures) :

I've tested in the same area by night and by day.
Both apps are many time adjusted to get the best result of each app.
May there's someone who uses another app with good pucture quality but for the moment gcam 7.3.018 is my favorite.

I agree with you on photo quality.
However stock cam supports better portrait mode, ultra wide camera video recording, manual mode, pixel peaping, etc...
Gcam focuses on quality of standard features, MIUI camera focuses on widening features. There are times MIUI camera has advantages over Gcam, so having both is a better idea than just to pick one.
Adobe Photoshop Camera (PsC) is FREE but only supports for a few Android Cameras via the Play store. However, if you download the apk (search Google) and sideload it into the V40, it does work well. Adobe promotes PsC primarily as a super-filter (lens) app w/o noting that it has a great post image optimizing capability. That ability almost matches GCam image improvements. Here are the Pros & Cons
Pros:
The camera has very fast shutter response.
The post image optimization tool is excellent, even for HDR. (no need to use filters)
Access to other images taken by other camera apps on your phone or in Google Photos
A very interesting suite of lens (filters) that you can post process your images.
Cons:
Only support the main back lens & the main front lens on the V40
Defaults to front lens by default so the startup is slow
Workflow emphasizes post-processing, images are not immediately seen in gallery until saved
I keep it primarily as an automatic image processing tool. For my usage, it is a valuable app to add on my V40.
May be for normal photo effect PS camera works nice, but is it work like real one?
The stock camera app of Nord 2 is ****. It over processes the images and the photos don't look like they are taken from a 50MP camera.
Any suggestions on what to do or some good GCam you can suggest?
Some examples? High mp sensors suffer in low light and have a more shallow depth of field especially up close to subjects. An accurate AF lock is important because of the narrow DOF; example, always try to get a AF lock on the subject's closest eye when shooting a face.
Adjust your shooting style according to the camera's strengths and weaknesses. See as the camera sees not as your eyes see. Human vision has exponentially more processing power and an incredible imaging system more so than any camera.
I want a proper gcam version if available or any better alternative that stock.
Always disable HDR option and pictures will look a lot better (sadly the app doesn't remember this setting so you have to turn it off each time) . The HDR process in the Nord 2 is absolutely awful .
Download the first file in this link. Photos taken with the primary camera will be much better, though I don't think Night Sight works. https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-wichaya/f/dl5/
DISABLE HDR. It's a known issue.
But you can't disable HDR when taking photos directly in other apps (whatsapp, telegram, etc)? I had OP8T and it had same issue and I had returned it...
GCam won't give you 50MP. AFAIK the only way to get 50MP on stock Nord 2 is by using the Extra HD feature in the stock camera app.
I'm curious to know if people with rooted devices have this capability enabled in the API. Let us know please

I don't think HDR and other processing options are enabled for 3rd party apps (same goes for the ultrawide lens, you can't use it in other apps) for me whatsapp and telegram pictures look good (but they are heavily compressed)

50Mpx is available in some GCAm versions (Wichaya and Nikita if I remember correctly, BSG and Greatness don't have the full resolution option) , but the 50mpx full resolution of the sensor is totally useless (not only with the nord 2 , but generaly with all other phones) , 12mpx pixel bining gives you better image processing, less noise , etc... a quick look at the reviews explain very clearly why is not a good idea to use the full resolution (50, 108mpx etc...) of a phone sensor.
Personally I use the BSG 8.4 v10 version and pictures are great, Google HDR+ implementation give a lot better results than stock app

Was this on stock or rooted? Btw for me the 4:1 binning is not something desirable since I stack very low light photos, run my own denoising and various other process. Hence why I need the full sensor data made available to apps like OpenCamera

Yes, IM apps do compress photos but that's different story than colour fidelity. In my time with 8T the colours in photo app and telegram/whatsapp were simply blown out of proportion: something normal-red in real life was glowing like burning Mars in 8T photos. After disabling HDR in camera app the photos looked ok (though still overprocessed hence IMHO OP3 photos looked better!) but in whatsapp/telegram I still had same issue with stupid extreme colours...
