Question Power delivery? - OnePlus Nord 2 5G

Hi all, can anyone confirm PD for Nord 2? I think, 8T have 45W PD.
I'm wondering to take 8t or nord 2

Ok thanks, it is enough for me to work

pd doesn't work from thunderbolt ports like it does for normal(*) phones and laptops
charger is not pd compatible (at least with stock cable, idk about other cables)
* nord 2 is a toy that looks like a real phone

So, you would choose another 8t or another phone? And why?

I have no idea what 8t is like. My previous phone was pixel 4a and nord 2 is nothing like the cheaper pixel when it comes to bugs and functionality. Sadly I broke the screen on my pixel and needed to buy something very fast. Reviews of then fresh nord 2 were very favourable so I bought it... There were even words like 'flagship killer' in some reviews. Sure it looks nice. Screen looks good for the price. Standby batter life is very good. But then there is the camera and the bugs and usual half baked chinese crap. And when the updates come they usually fix something imaginary not real problems.

My previous phone was Redmi note 5 Pro. For now I want to try higher middle class and Nord seem to be good choice. I only find some things about phone before I buy it.
Thanks for your opinion

One plus Nord 2 5G is recently released and you can expect new updates for the next 2-3 years compared to 8T, also it has 4,500 mAh battery in it and it will support 65W charging which fully charges in just 30 minutes.

why the V30 has quick charge 3 instead of 4 or 4+ ?

Hi
I understand that the snapdragon 835 brought support for quick charge 4 and four plus, yet phones released until now with the 835 have only support for the last year quick charge 3, (notwithstanding the Nuhia z17) I would like to understand what is the reason for it please and whether the V30 is likely to be updated with the quick change four capability in the future thar is to say if that's merely a software issue?
Maybe it's a heating issue and maybe they felt QuickCharge 3 was "safer" for now. You saw the hit Samsung took with the Note 7 last year. LG said they put in place lots more testing and safety procedures to prevent that from happening -- especially in the battery category. They actually sort of bragged something like that would never happen to LG! In testing this phone, perhaps QuickCharge 4 had a few bad results?
It's easy. Find me QuickCharge 4.0 compatible charger at Amazon

LG would make their own charger and include it with the phone.
But you have a point about replacement chargers. I keep several on hand.

And then either loose $50 profits with every sold V30 or put it on shelves for $900 and make everyone angry, frustrated and steered to Pixel 2 XL, Mate 10 or even Note 8
In fact, on reddit people claim that one can use USB-C Power Delivery Chargers to charge newest Pixel2/2XL, but no one link some from Amazon either. They claim that with USB-C PD Pixel can be charged to 70% in 15min. Seems like USB-C PD adapters are still nonexistent as well as QC 4.0 compatible
I wouldn't be surprised that even V30 can be charged in 15 min to 70% either being based on same SD835

Seems legit. Where can I buy it on ebay?
I feel like quick charge technology is a bit like android. It gets released, but you won't get it until much later.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Warp Charger

Hi, so far OnePlus does not sell the Warp Charger as a separate accessories, maybe in future OnePlus devices use the Warp charge & it becomes standard and they sell it but for now is there any alternatives? i have searched a little bit and closest thing i have found is SuperVOOC charger which is 50W and needs the battery to be dual cell (don't know if it works with McLaren Edition or not) also like warp charger the SuperVOOC is not also available as a separate accessories too.
i am also looking for a suitable Warp Charge support power bank, currently i have Sdoutech 10000 mAh Mini Portable Slim Dash Charge Power Bank For my Oneplus 3T but i wonder if there anything for OnePlus 6T McLaren yet?

it's hardware bro
The regular OnePlus 6T doesn't support the Warp 30 charging technology as OnePlus has to change the safety mechanisms of the battery assembly in the McLaren Edition. The battery in itself has an 8-layer protection board to provide more efficient cooling during the fast charge process.

It's both bro. Flashed custom kernel warp charge does not take place, if it does, there is no visual in software. So, it is involved in the kernel. Do you have a McLaren model and have you tested this before you post?

yes make sense, the kernel connects the OS and it's applications to the hardware. you need both.
i am totally satisfied with 30W Warp Charger and it's charging speed, imagine with SuperVOOC technology at 50W it's even faster! the Oppo Find X's 3400 mAh battery can go from 0 to 100% in just 35 minutes. i wonder if next OnePlus phone going to have 30W Warp or 50W SuperVOOC

Well i don't know if the OP6T kernel for both standard and McLaren model is the same or not, I remember with custom kernel for OnePlus 3T they could modify and bump up USB charge rate to 900mA. So I don't know if warp charge is all hardware or not but for sure I am not the expert

Well if it is hardware only, then why when I flash a custom kernel and plug in my warp charger.. it does not pull up the warp charge lightning bolt icon and does not say warp charging....
Also idk if funk wizard has a McLaren bc, it sounds like he is speculating and has a regular 6t without warp charge. Bc it says I guess in his post....

Well FunkWizard was also talking about the stock software which may not be limiting the current? I don't know. I would think he would know. If 9.0.11 doesn't disable it, perhaps other kernels could implement changes that wouldn't mess with it, or perhaps it's their other changes that are messing with it?
I don't know either, just usually FunkWizard is ontop of the OP stuff.

Dont let your McLaren cable or warp charger get destroyed

My puppy chewed my orange cable. I called OnePlus after not seeing them available for purchase. They said they are NOT selling spares becuase it is a limited edition. So far, none of my other cables will support warp charging. Does anyone know if the standard OnePlus cable will support warp charging?
They claimed it would, but I think it's really lame that they don't make spares available for purchase...

I guess you could use Oppo SuperVOOC Chargers (the one that came with Oppo R17) , it has the similar specs, similar battery setup too!
i bought this as a spare for my Mclaren. was sceptical due to the low price but having compared it to the original i think it is the real deal. warp charging works just fine when using this cable.

Super Vooc 50W Charger Purchase

I'm starting this thread as a reference for people who might be interested in where to purchase a fast charger for their phone.
I'm currently struggling to find any information about where to buy a fast charger, since I bought the Neptune Blue version (12GB/256GB) and the only option was an EU charger, although I need a UK one. I know that we can use adaptors, but that's not a long term, optimal solution.
So I have a couple of questions for the good people in here:
Does anyone know where to buy original Supervooc 50W charger ?
Any recommendations on similarly charging 3 party chargers ?
Does the OnePlus Warp/Dash chargers work for the X2 Pro? Any tests on that?
Please do not hesitate to add your experience with Oppo's proprietary charging technology.

Exactly, it seems that Oppo haven't prepared to sell those chargers separately and the only places you can find is a 3rd party from China.
Although I'm interested if anyone has tested maybe a OnePlus Warp/Dash charger.

Here I am! Proud owner of a OP3 since 3 days ago, switched to a 12/256 x2 pro.
I just tried, as per your request, to use the Dash op charger and in the home, I get the VOOC logo while in charge. Not that bad, but definitely not a superVOOC. It charges the phone quicker than any ordinary, yet overvolted charger, but not comparable to superVOOC.

How many seconds of charge per percent of battery ?
I think mine is not as quick as before, since a power outtage at home, very strange..
Almost 40 seconds per percent, so definitely not the 30min for the 100% announced.
Are you supposed to be able to see the Super VOOC logo while charging full speed ?

Thnk for testing.
could you please install the app "Ampere" from the playstore? (I on the Oneplus 3 get a read out of 3500 milli ampere with the 4 amp dash charger when below may be 40%)

Yup. Just made a comparison among the dash charger and the original one.
Realme charger (SUPERVOOC) : max throughput of 1850 mA @ 4,25V
Dash charger (VOOC) : max 1470 mA @ 4,23V.

Yes, sure. In the lock screen, with the charge percentage which fastly increases by step of 0.01.
I read about your power shortage and IMHO it could be a cause of damage to these chargers. Try to do as follows: install Ampere and compare your results with mine ( just posted a feedback to another user). I set the phone in charge while the phone is already @80% of charge remaining. Don't know if in case of discharged battery the charger pulls additional current in the first minutes, I'll try this out.
I don't think Ampere gives proper readings for Dash/VOOC. You're recommended to use the engineer menu (usually *#808#) but that doesn't appear to work on the Realme X2 pro (CN version).

Off course you can, but don't expect any VOOC neither superVOOC performance.
So seems UK version is non-existent. Great.
Does anyone know which adapter would allow the full capabilities of the VOOC charger?
It will comes with in the box right?
Dash charger is 20w. GSMarena said X2 Pro supports QC up to 18w.

Solution for V8 SuperCharger for Realme X2 Pro
Does anyone know where to buy original Supervooc 50W charger ?
Ans: Obviously from Oppo or Realme's official Stores and website. Do not trust Ebay or Amazon completely for that matter.
[*]Any recommendations on similarly charging 3 party chargers ?
Ans: SuperVooc is Oppo's tech but I guess original one from Oppo might be costly as compared to Realme.
[*]Does the OnePlus Warp/Dash chargers work for the X2 Pro? Any tests on that?
Ans: Works. 30w in also enough but it takes the usual 62-72 mins from 3% to 100%. Tested result. Also why won't u charge it fast in 50w speed rather than 30w,when both wattage results in pretty similar heating.
Note: Tested verdict. Any fast Supercharge tech will surely generate some heat and surely demands a battery change after 2-3 years depending on use. My 3 years+ old Oneplus 3 just had to change Battery. So I guess with 50w for Realme, its battery will run buttery smooth for max 2 years and upto 3 year with minimal use. Hope I answered upto your expectation.

Thanks, is it fast charging at full 15w?
the pixel stand gen 2 is the only one which will lets you charge in 21W or 23W for the pro version.
Otherwise check out any of the 15W qi certified wireless chargers.
I recommend the anker 15W, it's probably the best and most reliable brand.
Or the xiaomi 50W wireless charger, it has active cooling so you can always get the full 15W even if it's hot outside.
Thanks Xiaomi 50w charger is yet to launch here, will have too easily I guess, there are no other chargers with fan
