I have Xiomi Redmi Note 2 and one of it’s major uses is phone calls while I’m driving- speaking via my BlueTooth car kit.
With the new MIUI 8, I have a problem: At the end of the call, I used to disconnect by pressing the “disconnect” button on my car BT device. Now, with the MIUI 8 it simply doesn’t work- the “disconnect” button doesn’t ends the call and I have to tap on the device (very dangerous while driving).
I made factory reset to see if there is some conflict in apps- the problem remain.
I downgraded to MIUI 7.5- the problem remain.
I downgraded to MIUI 7.2.3- and the BT returned to work properly.
I upgraded with the internal “update” app- the problem came back...
So, seems like that somewhere between 7.2 and 7.5 a change was made that made damage to the BT car kit connectivity.
1- What happened?
2- How can I solve it? Should I stay with MIUI 7.2.3
other ideas?
thanks
I didn't have bluetooth issues with 7.5 or 8.0.x - but such problems may be due to the modem drivers. Which modem driver does you 7.2.3.0 come with? Look in for "Baseband version" in "Settings->About phone". My version of 7.2.3.0 comes with modem p37, which is very good for bluetooth. If yours is p37 as well, that may explain why you don't have any problem when using 7.2.3.0.
PS: I eventually reverted from 7.5.x and 8.0.x to 7.2.3.0, because I couldn't see any benefit from the later versions, which are also more resource hungry.
in miui 7.2.3 I have p51 and it's working well
suppose that's the problem with miui 8
how can i changer the modem?

IIRC, miui 8 also comes with p51, so that may not be the problem.
As for how to change the modem, there are links to installers for various versions in the Redmi Note 2 forums (including, I believe, p52). You will have to do a general search (e.g., for p37, p48, p52).
Here is a link to installers for various RN2 modems: https://mega.nz/#F!qwdklTTT!PvPmCdshrIf0UgQMKEAV6w
Is there anyone who still hasn't received the new update I'm still on MIUI Global Stable 11.0.9(QEJMIXM)
MIUI12 is still for pilot and beta testers. You can manually flash the ROM (available in XDA), but I dont recommend it. I flashed it and it was ok at first but the build I got had some stutters and lags and at times it was so bad that I had to restart the device a lot. Had to flash sphinx, then NGK kernel to fix it. Also, there's news that the beta build seems to be having overheating issues (mostly when using cam), but rest assured that it will come as its about to release beta. Dont quote me, but maybe by end of month (so long as they fix the overheating issue this week)
Hello.
Has anybody tried fastboot version of MIUI12 for curtana? https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/curtana/
you can find other version here https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/curtana/
Installed and being trying it for 3 days now. Everything works perfectly. For my day to day usage I can't say I've noticed any big differences from MIUI 11 (I was using xiaomi.eu 11.0.11.0). Usage does feel smoother and the battery does last longer, although I have no documented evidence to show. I removed the bloatware as per the 11.0.10.0 guide and I've found no bugs. All in all I'm happy with this ROM.
Edit: Just wanted to meantion the MIUI camera app. There are no added features. No clone mode and no kaleidoscope mode. The only difference from the MIUI 11 camera app is the new MIUI 12 visual.

Hey @gde.spencer , can you help me to choose the right firmware?
What is the difference between Recovery and Fastboot? Or do you need both?
Which is the better version Global or EEA?

The fastboot version is installed via MiFlash whilst the phone is in fastboot mode. Use this to flash "as new".
The recovery version is like an OTA update (I think. Never used one).
I don't know which version is better (global vs eea) because I flash as a base for custom roms.
I have the Redmi Note 9s 6/128GB Global Model.
I want to flash the Indian Firmware so I will get the MIUI contacts and dialer (and call recorder).
Can someone please check if the Indian ROM has the HEBREW language, it should look like this:"עברית" under languages.
I will be glad for your help.

Thank you a lot my good friend, I will now flash it
For anyone else wondering, the Turkish fastboot ROM (QJWTRXM) installs fine on a global Note 9S (QJWMIXM). Everything works as far as I can tell, and all the languages are there (though call recording isn't, at least in the default Google Dialer app).

Recovery is the "OTA" ROM you install with MIUI's built-in update mechanism or a custom recovery like TWRP. Fastboot is a bit more low-level, you restart your phone into fastboot mode, connect it to a computer and use a program that manually overwrites the data on the phone's partitions, a bit like using dd on Linux or disk cloning/backup software. There's also EDL mode, which is the same as fastboot but it's built into the hardware itself, so it works even if you manage to brick fastboot somehow. On recent Xiaomi phones, it requires an authorized Mi account (or a patched ROM, or someone willing to sell you authorizations over the internet).
Global and EEA are pretty much the same thing, but EEA ROMs are intended for the European Economic Area (the EU) so they have to comply with additional regulations like having to let you choose your browser and search engine or something. As a side note, I live in the EU and pretty much every store over here is selling the Global variant of the 9S instead of the EEA one. Global ROMs are "better" in the sense that they tend to be more up to date (as of me writing this, global is on MIUI V11.0.11 and EEA is still stuck on V11.0.4).
Hello everybody,
I own a Xiaomi MI 10 with the latest stable MIUI 12 EU ROM,
since I did the update from MIUI 11 I am having problems in pairing the phone with the VW e-UP infotaiment system (called Composition Phone).
In practice, once paired after a few seconds it uncouples and then after a while retry a new pairing which after another few seconds it disconnects and so on ..
I tried all the developer settings a bit but they didn't help.
I also noticed that going to the bluetooth devices of the phone, if I tap on the name of the infotainmet just before the automatic procedure starts, then the pairing is successful and no longer disconnects.
Anyone have the same problem with a VW? is there a solution? I also installed Magisk, is it possible to patch the bluetooth libraries?
Same exact machine and exact same problem.
You Found solution?
I am waiting for xiaomi to give me the code to unlock the bootloader and I will go back to the UMIGlobal_V12.0.1.0.QJBMIXM which worked perfectly for me.

Great! it's nice to know you're not alone where are you from?
I can tell you that I tried the latest EU ROM and it didn't work, but the EU compared to the global one has several nice features more. Since you have to unlock I advise you not to put the global again.
Before downgrading I would like to try the ROM EU weekly which if I have not misunderstood is based on the MIUI 12.5 beta, but for the moment I have not yet done so ..

Even the weekly does not work
I finally managed to solve the problem with the ROM
xiaomi.eu_multi_MI10_V12.0.8.0.QJBCNXM_v12-10.zip
which also works very well .. In any case I begin to think that it does not depend on the MIUI version, but on the version of android. I think the bluetooth management problems are due to android 11.
A bit late but have you tried changing the Bluetooth protocols in developer settings? You can change the version etc..
I have a new e-UP since yesterday.. same problem here with MIUI 12.5.1.0 on Poco F3.
Any solution without downgrading the rom? (MIUI 12.0.5.0 is also Android 11 on F3)
I think i will go for a Custom Rom in the next few days..
Does the latest Maps+More update changes anything? It says "Android 11 compatibility"..
HI Guys,
For me this problem is still alive. I'm running a VW E-Up also and since updating to MIUI 12 my car bluetooth is unusable as it constantly connects and disconnects to my M10 every 5 seconds or so. I've experimented with many settings changes, along with unpairing and re pairing but all to no avail.
I'm running 'Maps and More' ver 5.0.0 also but it's useless as I can't stay connected long enough to do anything with it.
Has anyone found a fix without downgrading?
Same problem here... any news/solution?

Hi guys,
I have similar issue since version later than 12.5.3. I even changed my phone to other xiaomi model, the issue remains.
So I will flash back to 12.5.3 if the issue cannot be solved in 3 months...
Now I have to turn on and off airplane mode to temporarily solve the issue every time I need to use Bluetooth related functions.

Hy folks,
Idk if the Bluetooth is the same but I got the skoda citigo with the Garmin device. Had the same issue. The resolution for me was to activate developpers options and change the Bluetooth Codecs to what my GPS device supports as it was way older than the one build in my redmi note 11
My perfect solution: I deactivated the work profile, and eveything is fine again!
My Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 had Miui 12 on it & I recently updated it to Miui 12.5.3. Now the internet speed through Mobile data is quite intermittent. Most of the time it is under 1KB/s. And then it sometimes goes to 12 MB/s randomly. When I connect to wifi, the internet speed is stable but connected through Mobile data using the phone network is unstable. This is so frustrating and I dont know why it's happening.
Any help would be appreciated. Maybe I have to downgrade to Miui 12?
Thank you
