Hi,
Maybe somebody is able to Help me. Since a longer time, when I am closing the keyboard cover, the tab does not lock itself and the screen does not go into sleep mode. Even more interesting: the screen switches on, when it was off, when the cover will be closed. I tried the functionality in safe mode and the cover functions as expected. So the behaviour is induced by an app.
Having many apps on the tab it is very time consuming deinstalling, checking and reinstalling every app. Maybe someone has a hint for me how to find this app in a very short time frame. Otherwise which right is needed, by an app, to influence the magnetic lock.
Thanks for your help,
Chris

When I do a soft reset, my phone is fine and everything works okay. However, after the first time the screen cuts off to standby, when it resumes the buttons on the bottom panel (Home, Back, Call, End, Select) no longer function. I can confirm that they all function perfectly prior to standby, and after the fact, none of them.
I'm wondering if this is a known issue, and if there's anything I can do to patch it or look it up. I've tried a few different roms, and it's a constant issue. Even after a full wipe with Task29 and a reflash with two separate roms, the behavior sticks. As soon as the phone comes back from standby mode the buttons just fail.
If it's at all relevant this is a Sprint Touch Pro. If no one can help me and there's no alternative I ask for help finding a way to disable standby entirely. Sure keeping the LCD on constantly will drain the battery, but being able to use the answer and hang up buttons, and the camera FAR outweighs that.
Well, I haven't been able to find anyone with a solution, but I've worked around the issue a bit by installing Keepawake 1.1 and setting it to run when manilla is running. Now my phone never sleeps, and the face buttons work. I'm currently looking for a small piece of metal I can mount over the power button to prevent accidentally triggering standby mode. Then my phone will be mostly usable again. Hopefully someone can shed some insight as to the cause of it all, but for now at least I may have found a way to work around it. We'll see how it affects my battery life.
edit:
Most helpful recommendation (aside from a solution to the root of the problem): could anyone recommend a way to disable the power button, or possibly remap it to launch task manger or something useful?
edit2: Remapped the power button to lock the phone using RaphKeyboardConfig. Works okay for now. Between this and keepalive, my phone won't go into standby if left on it's own.
Hey, I have SwitchProWidget (Used it since my HTC Hero, Desire HD, S2 and now my S3.), and many other applications/widgets that lock the screen without the need for pressing the actual power button, however; upon pressing it, it turns the screen off, then straight back on again. The respective apps are all Device Administrators with the permission to lock the screen, and it worked on my S2. I've tried numerous custom ROM's, and It's the same on all of them.
Anyone have any advice? It's driving me nuts, as I've got a chipped bone in my right thumb, and pressing it (With the additional hardship of an Otterbox Commuter case) is not only tedious, but physically painful.
I really hope someone can shed some light, and/or help me fix it.
Anyone?

What version of Android did you have on your S2? I suspect it may be an issue with the app itself. I have never used a screen lock widget, but it sounds like the widget is putting the screen off, but is either immediately waking it again or something else is waking it again. I would suggest reporting a bug via the play store to the app dev.
My Tab 4 turns itself on every night at specific time. I cannot figure out why, or what setting may be the culprit.
Every evening, I tap the power button to "sleep" my tablet before I put it in its cradle to charge. However, every evening at a specific time the tablet display lights up showing the lock screen, which wakes me up. This is making me nuts! I can't find any setting that would affect this behaviour, and there are no alarms set to "wake" the tablet at some specific time.
Any ideas where I should check?
Hi everyone !
I face a strange problem,
Last day, my nose started bleeding and a drop of blood has fallen on the lowest speaker. I washed it under clear water to get it off. (Since it's waterproof it shall not create any problems...)
Since this event, the sony style cover mode keep thinking that i'm opening and closing the smart cover.
Firstly, the screen was going on and off by itself, I wans't understanding what's happening since in recovery mode all is working fine.
Later, a pop up showed on my screen asking me to give permissions to smart cover app. I denied since I don't use it.
Luckily I have a smart cover that I don't use (it's not handy when fully opened so I stopped using it, it cannot be because of this since I flashed a lot of differents firmware since this day)
I paired the cover with the phone when the screen was on for enough time. It does had worked and instead of shutting down the screen, displayed the smart cover screen lock (A small square in the center of the screen, fitting with the window)
To avoid this, I deleted the smart cover app folder and datas using recovery, rebooted, miracle ! No more little square screen !
But... Even if the screen is as it should be, touchsceen is not working on the non window areas (it does work only in the square of the window. So I can't use touchscreen outside of this area.
I tried to delete all things I found related to "touchblock" in system and data but it does not worked...
I can do every actions on my phone using Adb with wifi or not, control on the screen using a mouse with otg or using wifi with teamviewer, or using recovery to do everything system side !
If someone is able to help me finding a solution let me know i'll be very grateful !
Thanks for reading (And sorry if i made mistakes in my explainations, English is not my first language )
Been using my Pixel 6 for my daily driver since I received it after launch. Recently, I have had quite a bit of trouble with the phone screen waking in my pocket and calling random people or 911 (emergency services) or just filling the PIN unlock screen with random numbers. I believe the screen is interacting with the fabric of my clothing. I make sure to power off the screen before I put it in my pocket, and facing the screen outward instead of inward seems to make a bit of a difference. I have scoured the settings and can not find anything. The only other option I see is a full wallet type case that closes over the phone so there is no way anything can interact with the screen. This started happening with alarming frequency in April.
Am I missing something? Any suggestions on how to prevent this? Turning off wake from notifications?
Thanks in advance!

Sorry for not being able to add anything other than I too am experiencing this issue, exactly as described.
I think it could be the double tap to wake I wear jeans and don't have that problem but 8 am using a pixel 6 pro though
Same issue here.
Please use the feedback form in device settings -> about the phone to send the bug report to Google as well.
Thanks!
this never happened to me.
are you using screensaver? AOD? any kind of app which controls the screen on/off?
