Improvement Idea [flashlight function] - Huawei Developers

Hi everyone,
I'm totally new here, I just installed the app a couple of hours ago and I'm pleasantly suprised by it. It's an awesome feature.
I immediately setup the function to start my flashlight, since I use the light a lot, sometimes with somewhat dirty hands and it has always been extremely annoying to touch my screen with unclean hands.
However, I noticed right away that it will be inevitable that the flashlight will start unwillingly by itself in my pocket or like at the moment while writing this proposal.
Long story short (too late for that), I think that a feature to disable the light automatically after some time that's preset by the user is crucial in order to maintain battery life. E.g. I set the timer to 60 seconds, this way when the flashlight turns on without the knowledge of the user it will turn itself off after one minute. Of course this will be a problem when the user wants the light to be on for more than a minute, however in order to sort this out, the app could determine if the phone is locked, thus eliminating the possibility to ruin desired usage.
Hope that helps and I really hope to see such a feature in future version of this awesome program!
Thanks to everyone on the team - amazing idea!
Regards,
Boris

Hello everybody, I just ordered 3 Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini pro

Well, the topic says it all, at least a big part of it.
I have read some of your posts and reviews and decided that in order to have a nice big screen I should buy 3 of them and glue the screens together. HEHE
Just joking, to cut the story short I wanted a smarthphone for my mother, and ended up buying one for my wife and sister too.
I have had a very short experience with Android, as I use a WM HD2 and previously I had a SE X1. So I trust SE with this small phone, hopefully the keyboard will last longer.
I wanted to know some things, first is if I can change the Android language, as I suspect it will come with Polish Android. I was thinking of putting a Portuguese version Android in one, a French one in the other and English in the last one. I was even thinking of a Greek one as my mother is Greek, but not sure if there is one like that.
The second question is what software and battery saving options would you recommend. I have read that the answering of the phone calls can be a bit tricky, so I will need to change that, and any other problems that can be solved with software tweaks would be appreciated.
Well, thank you all for reading this long topic and hopefully helping me turning these nice phones into lovely presents for the 3 important women in my life.
It's actually pretty straight forward to get decent battery life out of them. For the first week or so the battery life is going to suck, you'll be playing with the phone all the time and the biggest power sucker is the backlight on the screen (turn the brightness down in settings). So give things a chance to settle and the novelty to wear off a little before you pass judgement.
As for power saving options personally all I use now is Advance Task Killer Pro (set to autokill when screen turns off) and the Power Control Widget. Advanced Task Killer Pro uses very very little cpu time, so leaving it running 24/7 isn't an issue (a few seconds cpu time per day). The power control widget gives you 5 toggles on your home screen (wifi on/off, bluetooth on/off, gps on/off, sync on/off and backlight full brightnesss on/off.
Beyond that the next biggest power saver seems to be replacing Sony's Home screen software with something else. DXTop, ADW Launcher and Helix Launcher seem to be the best options in my opinion. Helix Launcher is especially good in this regard though it is rather spartan feature wise. Personally I've finally settled on ADW after trying pretty much every Home/Launcher app I could get my hands on, it has a good balance of features and speed..
French and Portuguese support shouldn't be hard to achieve, pretty sure there'll be a generic u20i firmware which supports both of those and English in the one.

[Peek] Development

Hey Guys,
just wanted to ask if there is some more planned for peek? I really like it so far, but a a little more functionality like in AcDisplay would be nice. But I don't really would like to install that application since I like to stay close to pa.
I am actually just interested in the possibility to implement some more information into the notification. For example If I get an new message, I can see from whom but not what he/she has wrote. In many cases I would probably put my phone back into my pocket after reading. At the Moment I am always unlocking my phone because there is too less information, mostly. And afterwards putting it back into my pocket without replying or anything else. Another advantage might be less battery consumption due to less awake time.
As well after reading a doubletap to sleep might be nice.
Additional If out of pocket I would enjoy a active screen for 5-10 seconds. Mostly when I am working the phone is on my desk and I have to lift it up too peek at my notifications. I wouldn't need to If I would know what to expect.
That's it so far. In general thanks for the great rom, enjoy the new orientation towards, less options and more "in place" settings. Less is more
Cheers,
Finn
+1
I'm sure Peek will be improved/enhanced in the future but I would love to be able to control the active screen time and the time it waits for movement after a new notification.

[Q] LG G Watch is good to buy?

I want to try android wear device.I choose LG G Watch.
Because in India,LG G Watch is available for 6500 INR (105USD).
Can any one tell me the pros and cons for this watch?
Is good to buy?
I just posted this message in another thread, but it is relevant to your question, so here it is again......
I just got mine too, but I really like it.....
First, I have to have my phone encrypted for work reasons. Having the Wear Unlock feature is a Godsend.
Second, I really like having my email and other notifications right there on my wrist. 90% of the emails I get are unimportant, but the other 10% are critically important. Before having the watch, I didn't check my email as much as I should have due to the amount of low importance email. Now with the watch, it is quick and easy to see an incoming message and immediately delete the unimportant ones.
Third, I love Google Now. It may start out feeling like a gimmick, but the more you use it, the more you will depend on it as a important feature. I was really starting to use this feature on my phone (G3), but it was a pain to get my phone and turn the screen on before I could use it. Having the watch allows this experience to be much quicker since I don't have to touch my phone. It's even better than the Moto X with it's "always listening" mode because you get the results right on the watch. Sure, there are sometimes that I need to push the results to the phone, but many times I am fine with viewing the information right on the watch. Checking the traffic conditions is something I do regularly - even when traveling on secondary roads and not the highway.
Fourth - Navigation on the watch. Having the turn by turn directions on the watch means I can leave my phone screen turned off when using navigation. I don't have a car mount for my car, so trying to position the phone where I could watch the navigation queues was a pain. In fact, many times I simply listened to the voice instructions which wasn't ideal. Now having the steps appear on the watch is great!
Fifth, I like having the incoming phone calls vibrate the watch. I would miss calls sometimes because I didn't hear my phone ringing or feel it vibrate (if on silent). Now I'm much less likely to miss a call.
I use all of these features all the time, but it is especially nice to be able to put my phone down when I get home and not have to carry it around with me. I can place it in the middle of our house (in the Den) and it will stay connected to the watch pretty much wherever I am in the house. It's great to still get notifications and see who is calling without having to run to look at my phone.
Those are just some features off the top of my head that I have enjoyed with the new watch.
Thank you for your info.
What about battery life from your usage?
I charge it every day, but the watch has never died on me before I end the day - usually 15 hrs or longer. I've had the watch about a week now, so I didn't experienced the "pre-update" battery performance. The battery performance was worse on the early versions of the Wear OS, but by all accounts, it is pretty good now.
Thank you for your information.

Just an update. Somehow my watch didn't charge last night - the charger must have gotten unplugged or something. I'm sitting at 11% battery life after about 26 hours.

This Phwatch is refreshing. ...

Well I've seen many mixed feelings on this gear S, for the first time in years this is one device that has peeked my interest, so I picked one up having the least expectations I possibly could have and man has it truely exceeded everything I thought it would be limited to.
So my first thing I did was burn through the battery as fast as possible by trying every possible thing I could do with this thing to get the "yayyy new gadget buzz" out of me and with heavy use it'll fly through it's power source, and it sure can be a fun gadget, afterwards I gave it a full charge and changed the settings to businesses/everyday normal use (turn on when I touch, don't notify me when using my phone, 7 important notifications, always no mobile signal because i make it feed off my grandfathered unlimited plan , and etc...)so that i use it truely as a extention of my phone and not solely a stand alone(but very nice to have that option), because carrying my phone with me is standard and i don't plan on leaving it behind on purpose just to be able to so my phwatch off because it's not important that people ask me "wow what is that on your wrist" this is for my personal entertainment and use, and not to be recognized for, but anyway after a full charge and 1 day of use after changing the settings to "NO SHOW OFF MODE" LOL, I'm down from 100% to 79%, even with a few "I gotta touch this thing moments", but that alone has me well off to feeling like this is a good purchase alone.
It gives me the convenience of not having to pull my phone out to see who's calling, i have my phone on silent and when my phwatch vibrates i check my wrist and judge within a few seconds of not having to fumble around in my pockets to answer or not, same with text. There have been many time where i pull my phone out or chase my phone down in another room and get frustrated that i even had to grab it just to ignore it, or wonder why all this for nothing.
I truely think if you're looking to get this thing then you wanting it alone should be enough to justify getting it's your money spend it, you can't bury it with you, enjoy yourself, but for me it was the fact i wouldn't have to buy watches as I can change the face to my liking and soon will be able to change the straps to coordinate, and to come along with all the extra features i didn't get it for makes this feel like a steal.

Welcome aboard the exclusive Phwatch train and join the club for posers! I can 100% relate to everything you said and I think my experience on day one was exactly the same as you.
It certainly is something to show off. I have invented new (and often painful) ways to position my arm to fully maximize the chances of my friends/colleagues catching sight of it and asking about it, I am only too poised to start flicking through screens to amaze and astound them. Followed by the inevitable "How much did it cost?" of course, which when I tell them further astonishes and astounds them
I have been using the sleep app and really like it.. I normally get 4-5 hours, but now that I can see it I am up to 7 hours of sleep. It makes a difference when you can see it (at least to me)

Hmmmmm, I don't find it to be comfortable to sleep in ... Maybe they should create a comfort band specifically for sleeping.

My Personal Android Nougat Review

So I've had this update for almost more or less than 2 months now, and the speed has improved just a little bit. As we all know, typical samsung software, has some glitches and stutter and all that still occurs, for some reason that I and every users don't know why this still exist. Sometimes I'm watching on Youtube, and the damn video just freezes but you can still hear the audio. But I thought maybe it's just the app so i reset the app by force stopping and clearing the data but the thing still occurs. Camera overtime, has slowed down. I don't know why but this specially occurs on lowlight situations that whenever but not always, i launched my camera, it just lags and stops and gos and it's so annoyingly slow. But most of the time, it is snappy. On the other good side of this story, i like the minimalistic Camera app. It's really just their software. Overall it is indeed snappy, but the consistency is their problem. My storage isn't even full yet, for all we know storages slow down as you're taking it all up. I've scheduled automatic restarts, i think it helped. The fingerprint, ugh i don't even wanna talk about it. I don't know how a oneplus 3 has better fingerprint than samsung's flagship. I mean it's just unreliable, i don't know maybe it's just mine??? I literally had 3 fingers assigned on my one and only right thumb just so that the phone won't have excuses lol. But no, im disappointed. It always has to be two damn tries, thats the least. Bluelight filter is now baked in, which is a very nice feature, atleast for me. Battery, i personally didn't notice any change, but thumbs up to that cos im more than satisfied with it. And as we all know, snapchat camera still sucks not only on this phone but with every android phone. The modes, man are they helpful for those times we really need to save battery. You can customize the resolution of you're desire., well not really but three choices is a lot. 720p,1080p,1440p. Now on the update, I don''t know if you noticed, my resolution is set to 1080p because the mode that is chosen after the update will automatically choose the "optimized" mode which adjusts the resolution and cpu speeds and all that according to the activity you're currenty doing. Which is another good thing. Also, google assistant arrived as well, which great! Interface has some major color and look and design changes. The status bar along with the pull down menu in my opinion has become cleaner and better looking than the previous version. The settings has been better, way way better organized than before. Samsung Pay hasn't yet to come in Canada for some goddamn reason (i know it's not suppose to be here but maybe just maybe someone from samsung reads this ****). I'll leave it here, overall, again, it's faster and snappier, app switches are better almost perfect. But you know, stutters and lags will be there. This is my review for the nougat update on my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7. Thanks for reading!
