Need a SMS app!!! I hate the look of the OEM SMS messaging.
Are there any options?
I have tried SMS-Chat and didn’t like that.
I’d like a good visual layout like the iphone for lg dare messaging.

Give PocketCM a try. U can skin that to your liking.
I Have a Droid 2 running Fission 2.5.7, and I'm using Dialer One as my default dialer. For some reason I can't seem to figure out, Dialer One will only show 153 of my 545 contacts. There's no option that I can see to refresh or import other contacts. They all show up in the default dialer under contacts, but not on Dialer One. Any ideas?
I have found that an applied filter based on groups will be active with ALL programs that use the contact list. I use Better Contacts and groups from Google are transferred in. If I have a group filtered, say to "Personal" it will only show those in Dialer one even if using the filter in Dialer one. And on top of that! Dialer one has its own filter selection based on the groups that DOES NOT get passed to the other Contact Apps.
Hope this helps.
is there a way to create and save some pre-defined texts for messaging?
sorry, came from the htc phones and they had this feature and is pretty cool, especially when you are driving and you can just click on some pre-defined texts.
thank you in advance.
coming from a blackberry would be nice to see too. one of the things i miss from their autotext.
I know there are 3rd party keyboards that add this functionality, my problem is I'd like to use say swiftkey X or swype and have something else provide this functionality.
And its not like i just want an autocorrect for typical spelling mistakes. I had shortcuts on blackberry like calloff <space> was a shortcut for "Please call me at the office (555) 123-4567" etc.
So my thinking is I'd add calloff as a dictionary word in the swype dictionary and then this other app would recognize that as a known [macro/shortcut] and replace it with the longer text.

Does anyone else find the dialer in ICS a bit of a disappointment? The keypad search doesn't seem to work very well (e.g. typing "JOH" doesn't show all contacts with "JOH" somewhere in their name). The favourite contacts page shows over-sized icons so that only 4 will fit on a page.
Can anyone recommend a good replacement dialer for ICS?
GoContacts is the best
I can recommend exDialer. It has a nice and clean interface and support for themes. Also, it seems to be stable. I have been using it for 3 weeks or so and didn't see a single crash or malfunction.
Exdialer is the best no doubts!
I swear I have asked this before, but is there a way to use the stock Google dialer on CM? I don't really like the CM one. I am using exdialer right now, but I don't really like it, either.
I'm fairly certain that the "CM" dialer is the stock AOSP dialer. Are you thinking of the stock Samsung dialer (the hideous mess that it is)?

Yep, I think you're right actually. There are some features of the TW contacts app that I like, such as slide left/right to call/text, and T9. I mistook that for the Google dialer.
