corrupt sd card - Moto G Power Questions & Answers

I just updated to the latest Android 11 security patch (October 2021) in Canada on my moto g power 2020 and it appears to have corrupted my sd memory card. Phone no longer will see anything on the card and wants to format it before use thereby wiping out all my stored photos. Has anybody else had this problem?

[Q] Pictures deleted and file corruption with external SD card

I have the VS985 currently running Jasminerom v4.0 with SkyDragon kernel 2.9.4 (with skydragon recommended settings) and running twrp 2.82.20. I've had the phone for a few months, and for some reason it seems to randomly delete photos stored on the external microsd card, and I've also had some random file corruption on other files stored on the external card. I've had two different cards, one sandisk ultra and currently a samsung evo which are both 64gb. I've tried formatting to fat32 in twrp, but most recently I used the lg format tool in settings, which I believe formats to exfat.
There's seems to be some correlation between flashing kernels and roms in twrp and subsequent corruption of files on the card, but it doesn't happen immediately, and I can't say for sure that flashing via twrp is the culprit. I'm afraid of losing files (photos especially) off the sd card. I can change to internal memory, but I would really like to know if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Edit: I forgot to mention that the problem also relates to the gallery app. This morning I noticed that some of the images in the gallery were corrupted. Most of them were still viewable but when I check the files in file explorer they were missing. When I restarted the phone, the files were completely gone from gallery and deleted from the card. I was able to recover all the photos on my PC

How should I update my phone to Marshmallow? SD card problems.

On my Lenovo A7000, a recent firmware update says that I can update to Marshmallow 6.0
I want to update but there was a message in red that I'm wary about.
If you previously switched the default storage device, after upgrading to Marshmallow the data and applications stored on your SD card may be lost. Please backup any important data.
What course of action should I take?
My default write is my SD card
I previously moved all my photos and videos to my SD card.
Should I backup both my internal storage and SD card or just my SD card?
Are there any other steps I'm missing?

Bricked SD card

Hello!
I have a Sony 32gb MicroSD card with the following issue. I formatted it as internal storage and after a while performed a factory reset on my phone. As it would be expected, I get the unsupported SD card notification, with the option to reformat it. Unfortunately, attempting to format it in the phone fails. Windows shows it as incorrectly having a 17mb partition and the rest of the space as unknown. The files it had on it are listed correctly, such as the android data folder, but I still cannot format it. I tried various tools both under windows and linux and the SD card with no success.
The phone by the way is an LG G2 mini with official cyanogenmod 13 on it.
Any help?

How to Fix Corrupted adoptable SD card?

If you are reading this in the hunt of Fixing the corrupted SD card after set into Adoptable. Click the Button Below
In my Research I've found these things
1. This is a Bug in Android 6.0 Marshmallow Source.
2. You can mostly set into read-only mode. So, you can access files to copy but unable to make changes.
3. You cannot format SD card with windows formatter.
4. It may not be formatted even with tools like Mini Partition Wizard.
5. Don't get panicked and change the Rom. We need information that stored inside the device or else nothing can be done to SD card.

I've searched through many websites but haven't found any related solutions even in XDA fourms.
Please don't reply saying to buy New Sd-Card.
That's the thing. Once the SD card is set for adaptable storage it is not meant to be removed at all until you change devices and then it has to be reformatted. This is why oems removed the feature in their flasks hip devices ad it is useless with devices with 16gb storage or more.
The SD card shouldn't be removed once it has been set into adoptable.
If you do that there is only one solution to format the SD card. It is to reinsert the SD card back to Device and format it. But for corrupted SD cards there is no solution founds yet...

SM-T820 not recognizing SD card

My Tabe 3 T820 is no longer recognizing the micro SD card. It states it is not supported and needs to be formatted to be used. The card is readable on my computer. I backup up the contents and then formatted the SD card using the tablet. It says that the format is complete and then tells me the SD card not inserted and asks for the card to be formatted. I bought a new SD card and the same thing occurred twice. There was a security update for Android Pie on September 25th. This problem has popped after the update. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Thanks.
