Hey guy,
I have the old Sony Xperia XA1 Plus and i want to install new os for it. However, i have to unlock bootloader if i want to install twrp. If i do that, my DRM-key will be deleted and i lost a lot of abilities of my phone. So i need some advices to root this phone without unlock bootloader so that i can backup DRM-key.
Please help me!

Hey guys I am a android newbie got a Neo V recently..I would like to use Titanium backup/brightness hack to move most of the apps to SD Card, and read that requires root..
Is rooting perfectly safe? cuz am not really interested in going beyond the stock SE Rom or anything?
And if I get any future SE official device updates, should I unroot the device before installing new updates or the root can be left as it is??

I'm also rooted and on stock and it still has many advantages. It's easy if you have an unlocked bootloader, else I don't know.

I dont want to unlock my bootloader, I am not looking to install custom roms or anything..
Can anyone else answer my question above, and can I follow this to just root my phone?? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582
Root it using the zergrush method (rooting doesnt remove the warranty) its very easy and no need to unlock the bootloader , then just get app2sd or similar to move the apps to SD.
After rooting you can do many more things like removing carrier apps, move apps, supercharge, etc.
hello, i have upgraded my phone from an xperia x8 to the xperia s, ive done alot of reasearch but cant seem to find what im looking for, is there anyway to unlock the sony xperia s bootloader if it states (no) , or able to root the device and or install any custom roms on it? if i can remember correctly though i may be wrong that with my xperia x8 i didnt need to unlock the bootloader to install custom roms, though i did. i just rooted the device, installed recovery and went from there. my phone is network locked to t-mobile. i cannot get it unlocked as no where near me can unlock it at the moment. any help would be greatly appreciated

well, you should know that finding an unofficial way of unlocking the bootloader takes a huge amount time and work.
i donĀ“t think that the devs will look for an other way to unlock the bootloader while there is an official way.
Hi,
I have Sony Ericcson Xperia Mini Pro manufactured in 12W31. I want to ask, if the only method to unlock bootloader is the official one and if there is no method to backup DRM keys. Because testpoint method dont work (because of date) and TA backup tool is only for Sony Xperias. Thanks for answers.

The OP in this thread used the S1Tool to do it without losing the DRM keys and warranty. He eventually did it as he has mentioned in the first post itself by editing it. If it worked for him, it should work for you too. I hope this helps.
Why do you need DRM?

Almost all you need to know http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2742236
TA is the trim area, and a backup is needed if you ever need to get it back to 'how you brought it', it contains DRM keys amongst other things
Hello all,
I need help rooting an old tablet z that i have. Im trying to root before unlocking the bootloader so i can backup my TA.
Mostly my problem is that all the tutorials/guides i either have broken links or they have something that doesnt work.
I have the wifi only version POLLUX_WINDY. And its running android 5.1.1, with build number 10.7.A.0.228
Is it possible for someone to help me with rooting so i can backup my TA for now?
Thank you very much.
Well after some lucky search and thanks to google translate is was able to find older versions of sony stock firmwares. I leave the link in here in case it can help someone: https://4pda-to.translate.goog/foru...uto&_x_tr_tl=pt&_x_tr_hl=pt-PT&_x_tr_pto=wapp
After going back in OS version i backed TA, and followed a guide to unlock and root the tablet.
