fingerprint issue - Xiaomi Mi 10 Questions & Answers

Hi guys when i was playing with phone earlier to install twrp etc. i damaged fingerprint files i guess. I tried reinstalling persist, mirror white paper on config menu but none helps. Anyone have a way to solve it?

If you have EFS files, restore them or maybe new fresh flash of stock rom with mi flash
and then calibrate fingerprint

Xiaomi redmi note 4 bricked - need assistance

Hello, after trying to restore a backup through TWRP my phone is stuck in bootloop, I tried Installing stock rom(Worked once, afterwards I tried another version and no matter what I do it didn't work again, it simply flashes for 1 second, says successful and doesn't really do anything).
Tried to wipe system/data/cache and reinstall the firmware and rom again, and also tried installing a different rom.
What else can I try? It seems like a system files problem, but reinstalling everything doesn't work, which is weird..
Thanks.
Anyone maybe?
Mi Flash
Have you tried mi flash tool.

Fingerprint enrollment unsuccessful

Recently I installed Resurrection Remix pie on my mido and at the startup was unable to enroll fingerprint so I skipped the step and after searching found out that I had to delete the past remnants of fingerprint data
Root/data/system/users/0/settings_fingerprint.xml
And
Root/data/system/users/0/fpdata/users.db
Yet after deleting these files I am not able to enroll fingerprint and the files are also deleted
I flashed stock miui and ensured that hardware is working
Currently I am using Aosp Extended and the issue still persists, So I assume the problem is not Rom based
Also I have tried flashing firmware but all efforts were in vain.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Try to format data on twrp

Copy the ROM you want to use to your external SD card, also download the matching GApps.
Do a full reset of the phone. Go into Recover (most recent OrangeFox) and format DATA partition (type YES) and do a full wipe (DATA, System, Cache and Dalvik).
All your is now completely clean. Install your ROM, install GApps, restart your phone and be happy

The last option is to flash original Xiaomi ROM with EDL mode. Do that and see what's working and what not. Then we can continue
Did brother.
I already did that brother.. Problem exists.. I can share a log file..

This is what is says when I click summary.
Your issues were mostly caused by error in EFS partition. EFS stand for Encrypted File System, and it responsible for the modem, wifi, mobile data connection, and your IMEI. Once EFS error, your device won't be able to read IMEI nor give wifi and mobile data connections.
My advice is try to clean flashed Mido's latest official MIUI ROM (MIUI 11), which contain the right EFS for your device. Do not attempt to flash other ROM first, since that wouldn't succeed if your EFS still broken.
It is because the significance of EFS why official TWRP also offer to backup it in it's feature.

Persist Partition Corrupted and Recovered.

In my aim to bypass the Google Photos storage limitation I tried my hand at (21-05-2021)Pixel Experience Rom (O.S.S Based). I was a painless experience to Flash the rom file through Orange Fox recovery. Initially the Rom was super stable and had everything I would use for my Daily Driver. Soon after I finalised everything in the Rom I received the 26-05 update of the Rom. I of course installed it as advised in the thread. Soon after rebooting everything was going fine when I received a WhatsApp video call, but front Cam kept going up and down with great difficulty. I tried the default camera app of the Rom to check and there too front cam would not Pop out smoothly and I would get error for Calibrating the Front cam. On going for calibration it would not work. I tried doing a complete clean flash of the 26-05 Rom but error would not go away.
Now I got worried and tried to do a Clean flash of Stock 12.0.5 Miui Indian Rom via Recovery but the Front cam was less then stable. It would work sometimes and some times it would pop up a little less the full out. Due to that the Cam pic would come slightly blurry. I Googled the front cam calibrating issue and found a lot of references to Persist partition. Also guys @Pixel experience telegram channel guided me through a lot of trial and error but nothing worked. I tried restoring an 2 months old FOX backup of then Stock Miui installation. That seemed to help a little but cam was still Unstable. I tired to Do a Clean Fastboot Flash of the 12.0.5 Miui stock and that to gave similar unstable results where I would be required to calibrate the front cam which would not work.
Then following some YouTube instructions i decided to try the dreaded Persist image flash(from the Fastboot stock Image). At this moment I was resigned to loose my Widewine L1.... But that too did not help a bit and A repeat Clan Fastboot flash of Stock also failed to do anything to the Front cam problem. Finally I gave up the whole thing and decided to just use the phone without Selfies cam.
Did everything needed to get a working Phone with stock Miui rooted and everything. But now the phone kept getting Encrypted despite doing everything to prevent that. (DM verity and also Ofox force disable encryption).
Finally tiring of all the crap, I went to sleep leaving my phone as it was. In the morning while searching for a solution I cam across a Orange fox Backup I had taken a while back which had only the most Important Partitions (Persist, VBMeta, etc) on my computer. I said lets try this one too..
I did a clean Fastboot flash of current stock Miui and then flashed latest Ofox recovery via ADB. Then in recovery (where i again faced the encryption issue which i this time chose to do a flash unlock.)
In recovery I did a complete wipe and format of data partition. After this I copied my Fox backup and Rom Folder from the computer.
I restored the small Backup (It has Persist, Vbmeta, Dtbo etc) After this without wiping anything I flashed Stock recovery 12.0.5 Miui (an older downloaded copy from my computer). Flashed DM -verity file. and after wiping dalvic rebooted the system. Took a while but System booted up fine. After this I started the process of restoring the Google Backup. After a couple of reboots and finishing the setup I tried the front cam . It worked smoothly for all the 20 or so times i tried it. SO finally i was able to get rid of the Problem..
Though I do seem to have lost the Widewine L1... So if anyone has a sureshot way to get that back please help me out..
So lesson I learned is Always have Complete Backup and special Backup of important Partitions....

You can get widevine L1 back by flashing xiaomi.eu rom 12.5.5 or 12.5.6
There might be other custom roms with this functionality

General Possible fix for setting lock screen password issue

I had this problem after restoring a TWRP backup where it would constantly say wrong pin when trying to get in, so I followed this guide to restore the original firmware. The problem now was that I was unable to set a lock screen password at all, crashing the app after verifying the entered password. After trying alot of different things and looking stuff up, I've come to a possible fix that I couldn't try because I lost the backup. I also found a fix without using the backup that worked for me but it resulted in having the same issue as this post.
So for the potential fixes :
1. Restoring Persist partition with backup
So what seems to be the issue is that twrp fails to restore the persist partition resulting in issues with the sensors, to fix this you have to find the persist_image.emmc.win file in your backup and flash it with fastboot (fastboot flash persist persist_image.emmc.win).
2. Restoring Oxygen_OS_11.3_A17
After trying mulitple things, this worked for me :
Get partitionsbackupper from here, put it in your adb/fastbootfolder and create a folder called PartitionsBackup as well. Next extract all the image files into the PartitionsBackup folder. Run the PartitionsBackupper_v1.8.bat and do the restore. After it's done, go to recovery and format all data. When it's done rebooting, the password lock and face unlock should work (It did for me, I'm not sure if it will for you).
If neither worked for you, I think your best bet would be contacting Oneplus for a factory flash. Please let me know if it did ( or didn't) work for you, and if you have any other way to fix this issue.
